Two examples of aspergillosis developing in children with acute leukemia are presented together with a review of the pertinent literature. An analysis of 1311 cases in the pediatric age range is presented from M. Y. Hospital, Indore. The pediatric attendance constitutes 36.8 per cent. of the total number of patients attending the Skin and V. D. clinics in the Out-patient Department of this hospital. Infections form the bulk of the total skin cases among children (78.4 per cent.), which are attributable to the socio-economic environment. Primary hepatitis exists in two forms. These two forms of hepatitis-viral and toxic-present certain differences in their etiology, symptomatology, and laboratory tests. The clinical course and prognosis vary markedly in these two types of hepatitis. Specific therapeutic procedures are usually present for cases with the toxic type but absent for those with the infectious type. Differentiation between the two types of primary hepatitis is more than just of academic interest, and hence, it should be attempted in every case. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To sum up, then, although there are more disappointments than miracles in the search for and the curing of severe manifestations of food sensitiveness, the miracles are so gratifying when they come that, each time, the clinician will resolve to spend more time looking for them. The field is still much neglected; more diets much be fitted and fewer handed out ready made. A good history will often show that the diet is probably not the cause for the patient's discomfort. Patients much not be left too long on narrow elimination diets; such diets are for testing and not for treatment. Some cases of diarrhea and pseudo-ulcer are due to the milk that is taken by way of treatment, and not infrequently certain foods irritate or greatly depress the brain. Somnolence after meals can be due to a particular food, and canker sores in the mouth can be produced by food. Efforts to use an elimination diet are often instructive in showing the physician that he is dealing with an unreasonable, overly fussy, querulous, or psychopathic person. Food sensitiveness is not necessarily allergic or due to protein. Perhaps partly for this reason, skin tests are of little help in finding the foods that cause indigestion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The result of a postal follow-up of children who had been treated for infantile eezema in the Children's Hospital, Temple St. during the years 1932-45 is reported. It was possible to analyse the subsequent history of 42 children. In 58 per cent. of cases the eczema cleared by the age of eight; 30·9 per cent. never cleared, 26 per cent. of the cases developed asthma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Management of the child with bronchial asthma involves efforts by several individuals-parents, patients, family physician, pediatrician, allergist, psychiatrist-on many fronts. It is by a holistic approach that the best management can be offered to such allergic individuals.
