Simple Summary: In commercial aquaculture, aquatic animals are generally administered medicine ad libitum (at one's pleasure) via medicated feed. However, the estimation of withdrawal times for aquatic medicine is mostly carried out through the forced administration of medicine via oral gavage, which is not consistent with commercial aquaculture. This process may influence the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of medicine in aquatic animals and further affect the calculation of withdrawal times (WTs) for medicines. Therefore, in the current study, we selected the important aquatic medicine enrofloxacin (EF) to estimate its WTs in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) after the administration of medicated feed. This study will obtain practical estimations of the WT of EF in actual aquaculture to aid in the surveillance of medication residue in fish products. The present study investigated the residue depletion and WTs of EF and its main metabolite, ciprofloxacin, in largemouth bass after ad libitum administration in commercial fish farming based on statistical approaches. Samples collected at pre-determined time points were assessed using high-performance liquid chromatography. If the concentrations of medicine were less than the quantitative limit, they were set to be half of the limit of quantitative. The terminal elimination of the target compound was assumed to fit a one-compartment model. The statistical methods of Bartlett's test and Cochran's test were used to inspect the homogeneity of the log-transformed data. The lack-of-fit test and F-test were used to check the linearity of the regression line. Outliers were assessed using standardized residuals. The final WT was estimated using the 95% percentile with a 95% confidence level. The WTs of EF were calculated to be 46, 29, 33, 46, and 20 days for the muscle + skin, plasma, gill, kidney, and liver, respectively. After the risk assessment, the values of the hazard quotient were calculated to be far less than 1, indicating that the risk of residual EF was particularly low in the edible tissues of largemouth bass after medicine depletion for various WTs. The timing of potato tuberization is affected by potato ripeness, environmental factors, and polygene regulation. The accurate control of the transition to tuberization has both scientific and practical production value, but the key factors regulating this transition remain unclear. This study grafted an early-maturing potato variety (Favorita) scion to the late-maturing Qingshu 9 variety and demonstrated that a heterologous early-maturing scion can induce early potato formation on a late-maturing rootstock. The transcriptome of functional leaves and stolons of grafted plants was comprehensively analyzed and 593 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified, including 38 transcription factors. Based on gene molecular function analysis and previous reports, we propose that PIF5, bHLH93, CBF3, ERF109, TCP19, and YABBY1 are the key DEGs that induce tuber formation in early- and late-maturing potatoes. The YABBY1 gene was subjected to functional verification. The leaf area of StYABBY1-overexpressing plants was smaller than the wild type and no potato tubercles were formed, while an RNA interference plant line showed no change in leaf area and formed tubers, indicating that StYABBY1 has a role in leaf size regulation and tuber formation. As an important mechanism in the post-transcriptional regulation of eukaryotic gene expression, alternative polyadenylation (APA) plays a key role in biological processes such as cell proliferation and differentiation. However, the role and dynamic pattern of APA during Litopenaeus vannamei metamorphosis are poorly understood. Here, RNA-seq data covering from the embryo to the maturation (16 time points) of L. vannamei were utilized. We identified 247 differentially expressed APA events between early and adult stages, and through fuzzy mean clustering analysis, we discovered five dynamic APA patterns. Among them, the gradual elongation of the 3′UTR is the major APA pattern that changes over time, and its genes are enriched in the pathways of protein and energy metabolism. Finally, we constructed mRNA-miRNA and PPI networks and detected several central miRNAs that may regulate L. vannamei development. The KR resistance curve for hydraulic crack propagation in a concrete beam was determined and discussed. A semi-analytical method was introduced to calculate the hydraulic crack propagation in concrete. A series of concrete beams with various hydraulic pressures and initial crack depths were tested, and the hydraulic crack propagation in these beams was calculated. The calculated P-CMOD curves were first verified, and then the calculated KR resistance curve for hydraulic crack propagation was determined. Based on the test results and calculation results, the following conclusions can be drawn: The proposed analysis method can accurately predict the hydraulic crack propagation process in concrete. The KR resistance to hydraulic crack propagation in concrete decreases with the increase in hydraulic pressure but is less influenced by the initial crack depth of the test beams. In addition, the concrete beams collapse immediately under hydraulic fracturing once the KIw curve reaches the KR resistance curve. This indicates that the failure of concrete structures under hydraulic fracturing occurs immediately once the driving force of crack propagation, dominated by the hydraulic pressure in the crack, becomes significant. Acetone is a biomarker found in the expired air of patients suffering from diabetes. Therefore, early and accurate detection of its concentration in the breath of such patients is extremely important. We prepared Tin(IV) oxide (SnO2) nanospheres via hydrothermal treatment and then decorated them with bimetallic PtAu nanoparticles (NPs) employing the approach of in situ reduction. The topology, elemental composition, as well as crystal structure of the prepared materials were studied via field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The findings revealed that bimetallic PtAu-decorated SnO2 nanospheres (PtAu/SnO2) were effectively synthesized as well as PtAu NPs evenly deposited onto the surface of the SnO2 nanospheres. Pure SnO2 nanospheres and PtAu/SnO2 sensors were prepared, and their acetone gas sensitivity was explored. The findings demonstrated that in comparison to pristine SnO2 nanosphere sensors, the sensors based on PtAu/SnO2 displayed superior sensitivity to acetone of 0.166–100 ppm at 300 °C, providing a low theoretical limit of detection equal to 158 ppm. Moreover, the PtAu/SnO2 sensors showed excellent gas response (Ra/Rg = 492.3 to 100 ppm), along with fast response and recovery (14 s/13 s to 10 ppm), good linearity of correlation, excellent repeatability, long-term stability, and satisfactory selectivity at 300 °C. This improved gas sensitivity was because of the electron sensitization of the Pt NPs, the chemical sensitization of the Au NPs, as well as the synergistic effects of bimetallic PtAu. The selective hydrogenation of the biomass platform molecule furfural (FAL) to produce furfuryl alcohol (FA) is of great significance to alleviate the energy crisis. Cu-based catalysts are the most commonly used catalysts, and their catalytic performance can be optimized by changing the preparation method. This paper emphasized the effect of calcination atmosphere on the performance of a Cu/Al2O3 catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of FAL. The precursor of the Cu/Al2O3 catalyst prepared by the ammonia evaporation method was treated with different calcination atmospheres (N2 and air). On the basis of the combined results from the characterizations using in situ XRD, TEM, N2O titration, H2-TPR and XPS, the Cu/Al2O3 catalyst calcined in the N2 atmosphere was more favorable for the dispersion and reduction of Cu species and the reduction process could produce more Cu+ and Cu0 species, which facilitated the selective hydrogenation of FAL to FA. The experimental results showed that the N2 calcination atmosphere improved the FAL conversion and FA selectivity, and the FAL conversion was further increased after reduction. Cu/Al2O3-N2-R exhibited the outstanding performance, with a high yield of 99.9% of FA after 2 h at 120 °C and an H2 pressure of 1 MPa. The corner reflector is an effective means of interference for radar seekers due to its high jamming intensity, wide frequency band, and combat effectiveness ratio. Properly arranging multiple corner reflectors in an array can form dilution jamming that resembles ships, substantially enhancing the interference effect. This results in a significant decline in the precision attack efficiency of radar seekers. Hence, it is critical to accurately identify corner reflector array. The common recognition methods involve extracting features on the high-resolution range profile (HRRP) and polarization domain. However, the former is constrained by the number of corner reflectors, while the latter is affected by the accuracy of polarization measurement, both of which have limited performance on the identification of corner reflector array. In terms of the evident variations in physical structures, there must be differences in their scattering characteristics. To highlight the differences, this paper proposes a new method based on the concept of mismatched filtering, which involves changing the frequency modulation slope of the chirp signal in the filter. Then, the variance of width and intervals within a specific scope are extracted as features to characterize these differences, and an identification process is designed in combination with the support vector machine. The simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits stable discriminative performance and can effectively combat dilution jamming. Its accuracy rate exceeds 0.86 when the signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 0 dB. As the global aging population increases, the demand for rehabilitation of elderly hand conditions has attracted increased attention in the field of wearable sensors. Owing to their distinctive anti-electromagnetic interference properties, high sensitivity, and excellent biocompatibility, optical fiber sensors exhibit substantial potential for applications in monitoring finger movements, physiological parameters, and tactile responses during rehabilitation. This review provides a brief introduction to the principles and technologies of various fiber sensors, including the Fiber Bragg Grating sensor, self-luminescent stretchable optical fiber sensor, and optic fiber Fabry–Perot sensor. In addition, specific applications are discussed within the rehabilitation field. Furthermore, challenges inherent to current optical fiber sensing technology, such as enhancing the sensitivity and flexibility of the sensors, reducing their cost, and refining system integration, are also addressed. Due to technological developments and greater efforts by researchers, it is likely that wearable optical fiber sensors will become commercially available and extensively utilized for rehabilitation. Analyzing and breaking down nonstationary signals into their primary components is significant in various optical applications. In this work, we design a direct, localized, and mathematically rigorous method for nonstationary signals by employing a modulated short-time Fourier transform (MSTFT) that can be implemented efficiently using fast Fourier transform, subsequently isolating energy-concentrated sets through an approximate threshold process, allowing us to directly retrieve instantaneous frequencies and signal components by determining the maximum frequency within each set. MSTFT provides a new insight into the time-frequency analysis in multicomponent signal separation and can be extended to other time-frequency transforms. Beyond the analysis of the synthetic, we also perform real dual-comb ranging signals under turbid water, and the results show an approximate 1.5 dB improvement in peak signal-to-noise ratio, further demonstrating the effectiveness of our method in challenging conditions. An aluminum silicate fiber/alumina aerogel (ASF/AA) composite was prepared via the sol-gel method and atmospheric drying (APD) method using coal gangue (CG) solid waste from Xingxian county, Shanxi Province, as the aluminum source. Utilizing N2 adsorption, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and thermal conductivity meters, researchers examined the microstructure, composition, pore structure, and thermal insulation performance of ASF/AA composites. The thermal conductivity mechanism of the composite was analyzed. The experimental results show that most of the aluminum in CG is used. More importantly, in the process of aerogel synthesis, the atmospheric pressure drying method is used to obtain similar properties to supercritical drying. The composite material exhibits a low thermal conductivity of 0.047 W/(m·K), a high specific surface area of 416 m2/g, and a low density of 0.26 g/cm3 at room temperature. After heating at 1200 °C for 2 h, the thermal conductivity was as low as 0.071 W/(m·K). This strategy can not only effectively achieve a reduction in the harmfulness of solid waste coal gangue, but also alleviate the shortage of related energy and resources in our country. YCA1, the only metacaspase in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, plays important roles in the regulation of chronological lifespan, apoptosis, and cytokinesis. YCA1 has protein hydrolase activity and functions by cleaving itself and target proteins. However, there are few reports about the regulation of YCA1 activity. In this study, we observed that reactive sulfane sulfur (RSS) can inhibit the activity of YCA1. In vitro experiments demonstrated that RSS reacted with the Cys276 of YCA1, the residue central to its protein hydrolase activity, to form a persulfidation modification (protein-SSH). This modification inhibited both its self-cleavage and the cleavage of its substrate protein, BIR1. To investigate further, we constructed a low-endogenous-RSS mutant of S. cerevisiae, BY4742 Δcys3, in which the RSS-producing enzyme cystathionine-γ-lyase (CYS3) was knocked out. The activity of YCA1 was significantly increased by the deletion of CYS3. Moreover, increased YCA1 activity led to reduced chronological lifespan (CLS) and CLS-driven apoptosis. This study unveils the first endogenous factor that regulates YCA1 activity, introduces a novel mechanism of how yeast cells regulate chronological lifespan, and broadens our understanding of the multifaceted roles played by RSS. Simple Summary: This study focused on the DNA polymerase β (POLB) gene, which belongs to the DNA polymerase X family involved in DNA replication, repair, recombination, and cell cycle regulation. POLB was identified as a muscle development-related gene through gene screening and gene expression analysis methods. Further validation in bovine primary myocytes showed that overexpression of POLB promoted apoptosis, while gene knockdown had no significant effect. Analysis of related genes revealed that POLB overexpression affected the expression of the CASP9 gene, which is involved in the apoptotic pathway. DNA polymerase β (DNA polymerase beta (POLB)) belongs to a member of the DNA polymerase X family, mainly involved in various biological metabolic processes, such as eukaryotic DNA replication, DNA damage repair, gene recombination, and cell cycle regulation. Assessing the limitations of microbial metabolic resources is crucial for understanding plantation soil quality and enhancing fertility management. However, the variation of microbial resource limitations at the aggregate level in response to changes in stands remains unclear. This research explores carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorus (P) limitations affecting microbial metabolism in bulk soils and aggregates in two mixed and one pure Chinese fir stands in subtropical China, analyzing resource limitations concerning soil carbon, nutrients, and microbial indicators. The results revealed that microbes in all aggregates of the pure stands and in the micro aggregates (<0.25 mm) of the three stands were relatively limited by C and P. In contrast, microbial metabolism was more N-limited in macroaggregates (>2 mm) and small aggregates (2–0.25 mm) in the mixed stands. Additionally, in the mixed stands the proportion of soil macroaggregates increased, and that of micro aggregates decreased, resulting in a shift from C and P limitation to N limitation for bulk soil microbial metabolism. Redundancy analysis identified soil aggregate organic carbon and nutrient content as the main factors affecting microbial resource limitation, rather than their stoichiometric ratios. Pathway analysis further confirmed that soil nutrients and their stoichiometric ratios indirectly influenced soil microbe resource limitation by regulating microbial biomass, microbial respiration, and extracellular enzyme activities. Thus, the impact of mixed plantations on soil nutrients and microbial activity at the aggregate level may be crucial for maintaining land fertility and achieving sustainability. The seismic behavior of the end-plate connections between a steel beam and the weak axis of the H-shaped steel column using a U-shaped connector was investigated using numerical analysis. Finite element (FE) models were established using ABAQUS 6.14 software, and the applicability of the modeling approach was verified by comparing the numerical results with the relevant experimental results. This parametric study of the joint was carried out to analyze the effects of the thickness of the U-shaped connectors, the thickness of the end-plates, the axial compression ratio of the columns, and the linear stiffness ratio of the beam to the column. The results show that the U-shaped connector set in the weak axis of the H-shaped column can form a box-shaped panel zone with the column flange and web. The volume of the panel zone and its resistance to shear deformation are increased through this connection. Finally, the recommended reasonable ranges for the thickness of the U-shaped connector, the thickness of the end-plates, the axial compression ratio of the columns, and the linear stiffness ratio of the beam to the column are proposed in this paper. Rodents, including the striped field mouse (Apodemus agrarius), play vital roles in ecosystem functioning, with their gut microbiota contributing significantly to various ecological processes. Here, we investigated the structure and function of 94 wild A. agrarius individuals from 7 geographic populations (45°57′ N, 126°48′ E; 45°87′ N, 126°37′ E; 45°50′ N, 125°31′ E; 45°59′ N, 124°37′ E; 46°01′ N, 124°88′ E; 46°01′ N, 124°88′ E; 46°01′ N, 124°88′ E), revealing two distinct enterotypes (Type1 and Type2) for the first time. Each enterotype showed unique microbial diversity, functions, and assembly processes. Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes dominated, with a significant presence of Lactobacillus and Muribaculaceae. Functional analysis highlighted metabolic differences, with Type1 emphasizing nutrient processing and Type2 showing higher energy production capacity. The analysis of the neutral model and the null model revealed a mix of stochastic (drift and homogenizing dispersal) and deterministic processes (homogenous selection) that shape the assembly of the microbiota, with subtle differences in the assembly processes between the two enterotypes. Correlation analysis showed that elevation and BMI were associated with the phylogenetic turnover of microbial communities, suggesting that variations in these factors may influence the composition and diversity of the gut microbiota in A. agrarius. Our study sheds light on gut microbial dynamics in wild A. agrarius populations, highlighting the importance of considering ecological and physiological factors in understanding host–microbiota interactions. The power capacity of reflectarray antennas (RAs) is investigated through full-wave simulations and high-power microwave (HPM) experiments in this paper. In order to illustrate the results in detail, two RA elements are designed. The simulated power handling capacity of two RA elements are 7.17 MW/m2 and 2.3 GW/m2, respectively. To further study the HPM RA, two RA prototypes operating at 2.8 GHz are constructed with the aperture size of 1 m × 1 m. Simulations and experimental measurements are conducted for the two prototypes. The experimental results demonstrate that, even when subjected to 1 GW of power, the radiation beam of the RA with the second elements can still propagate in the intended direction. Moldy corn produces aflatoxin and gibberellin, which can have adverse effects on human health if consumed. Mold is a significant factor that affects the safe storage of corn. If not detected and controlled in a timely manner, it will result in substantial food losses. Understanding the infection patterns of mold on corn kernels and the changing characteristics of the internal structure of corn kernels after infection is crucial for guiding innovation and optimizing detection methods for moldy corn. This knowledge also helps maintain corn storage and ensure food safety. This study was based on X-ray tomography technology to non-destructively detect changes in the structural characteristics of moldy corn kernels. It used image processing technology and model reconstruction algorithms to obtain the 3D model of the embryo, pores and cracks, endosperm and seed coat, and kernels of moldy corn kernels; qualitative analysis of the characteristic changes of two-dimensional slice grayscale images and 3D models of moldy corn kernels; and quantitative analysis of changes in the volume parameters of corn kernels, embryos, endosperm, and seed coats as a whole. It explored the detection method of moldy corn kernels based on a combination of X-ray tomography technology and deep learning algorithms. The analysis concluded that mold infection in maize begins in the embryo and gradually spreads and that mold damage to the tissue structure of maize kernels is irregular in nature. The overall volume parameter changes of corn kernels, embryos, endosperm, and seed coats in the four stages of 0 d, 5 d, 10 d, and 15 d showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. The ResNet50 model was enhanced for detecting mold on maize kernels, achieving an accuracy of over 93% in identifying mold features in sliced images of maize kernels. This advancement enabled the non-destructive detection and classification of the degree of mold in maize kernel samples. This article studies the characterization of the characteristic changes of moldy corn kernels and the detection of mildew, which will provide certain help for optimizing the monitoring of corn kernel mildew and the development of rapid detection equipment. To study the phenomenon of large deformation and the failure of roadways under dynamic pressure, this paper takes the 10607 gas drainage roadway as the research object and presents the results of a theoretical derivation of equations for the boundary of the plastic zone of a dynamic pressure roadway with and without supporting force. The impacts of the mining influence coefficient and supporting force on the plastic zone boundary were explored for various lateral pressure coefficients. As the supporting force was increased, it was observed that there was a slight reduction in the radius of the plastic zone of the dynamic pressure roadway, while its scope and shape barely changed. Based on the failure mechanism of the dynamic pressure roadway, active and passive support technology was proposed, and the support effect was analyzed using FLAC3D 5.0 numerical simulation software for the case of the 10607 gas drainage roadway. The act of standing up is one of the most important movements in daily life, but it often poses challenges for elderly individuals with declining physical functions. To address this issue, we have designed an assistive device for sit-to-stand (STS) movement. This device aids the upper limbs, allowing them to bear some of the weight during the STS movement, thereby improving the force distribution on the lower limbs and enhancing the stability of the body during movement. The connection to the user is very straightforward; one simply needs to place their hands and arms on the lifting mechanism to connect, and after the STS movement is completed, the user can easily disengage, making it very convenient to use. The device is compact, equipped with wheels and a handle, allowing it to be flexibly moved and used in confined spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms, and balconies. ADAMS-LifeMOD simulations indicate that the use of the STS movement assistive device can significantly improve the force distribution across the joints of the lower limbs and reduce the pressure on the soles of the feet against the ground. Subsequently, a prototype was built, and four volunteers were invited to conduct further experimental validation, comparing the changes in plantar pressure during the STS movement with and without the assistive device, as well as the subjective feelings of the users. Corrugated damage to bearings is a common fault in electrical facilities such as new energy vehicles, wind power, and high-speed railways. The aim of this article is to reveal the microscopic characteristics and formation mechanism of such damages. The corrugation with alternating "light" and "dark" shape was produced on GCr15 bearing races in the experimental conditions. Compared to the light area, the dark area (in the images generated by optical microscope) has more severe electrical erosion, lower hardness, more concave morphology, and lower oxidation. As the voltage increases, the width of the corrugation, the height difference between corrugation, and surface roughness all increase. It is believed that the formation of corrugated damage requires a sufficiently high voltage to induce the periodic destruction and reconstruction of the lubrication film. When the bearing is in a metal-lubrication film–metal contact state, the high voltage causes the lubrication film to break down and induce electrical erosion. Then, the contact area is in metal–metal contact, and the surface is mainly damaged by mechanical rolling. After the reconstruction of lubrication film, the next round of electrical erosion begins. (1) Background: Copy number variation (CNV) is a critical component of genome structural variation and has garnered significant attention. High-throughput screening of the KCNJ15 gene has revealed a correlation between the CNV region and the growth traits of goats. We aimed to identify the CNV of the KCNJ15 gene in five goat breeds and analyze its association with growth characteristics. (2) Methods: We utilized 706 goats from five breeds: Guizhou black goat (GZB), Guizhou white goat (GZW), Bohuai goat (BH), Huai goat (HH), and Taihang goat (TH). To evaluate the number of copies of the KCNJ15 gene using qPCR, we analyzed the correlation between the CNV and growth characteristics and then used a universal linear model. The findings revealed variations in the distribution of different copy number types among the different goat breeds. (3) Results: Association analysis revealed a positive influence of the CNV in the KCNJ15 gene on goat growth. In GZB, individuals with duplication types exhibited superior performance in terms of cannon bone circumference (p < 0.05). In HH, individuals with duplication types exhibited superior performance in terms of body slanting length (p < 0.05). The Dong Taijinar (DT) and Xi Taijinar (XT) Salt Lakes have been extensively researched for their mineral richness. However, the composition and distribution of their microbial communities are still poorly known. In this study, we employed metagenomic sequencing to explore the diversity and potential functions of the microbial populations in DT and XT. Our findings indicate that the salinity levels in DT (332.18–358.30 g/L) were tenfold higher than in XT (20.09–36.83 g/L). Notably, archaea dominated the DT domain at 96.16%, while bacteria prevailed in XT at 93.09%. In DT, the bacterial community comprised 33 phyla and 1717 genera, with Marinobacter emerging as the dominant genus, showing a positive correlation with the total phosphorus content. The archaeal community in DT included four main phyla and 153 genera. The most abundant genera were Natronomonas (24.61%) and Halorubrum (23.69%), which had a strong positive correlation with the concentrations of Na+, Ca2+, and Cl−. Conversely, XT hosted 33 phyla and 1906 bacterial genera, with Loktanella as the dominant genus. The archaeal taxonomy in XT encompassed four phyla and 149 genera. In both salt lakes, Proteobacteria and Euryarchaeota were the most abundant bacterial and archaeal phyla, respectively. Our analysis of the halophilic mechanisms of these microorganisms suggests that the bacteria in XT tend to synthesize compatible solutes, whereas the archaea in DT adopt a 'salt-in' strategy, integrating salt into their cellular machinery to cope with the high-salinity environment. In the R22 (chlorodifuoromethane) steam-cracking process, which is used to produce a TFE (tetrafluoroethylene) monomer, distillation is employed to separate the high-purity TFE monomer from the cracked gas generated during this procedure. Traditionally, this distillation process is carried out using five towers. In this study, the traditional five-tower distillation method was transformed into a four-tower distillation method through the Aspen Plus simulation software, and this process was simulated and optimized. Meanwhile, a double-effect distillation process was designed for the transformed four-tower distillation process. The transformed distillation process not only meets the requirements of 99.999% purity for the TFE monomer and 99.99% purity for R22 recycling, but it also reduces the footprint by eliminating one distillation tower and saves 112.9002 kW of tower load, thus reducing the operating costs. Podophyllotoxin (PTOX) is naturally produced by the plant Podophyllum species. Some of its derivatives are anticancer drugs, which are produced mainly by using chemical semi-synthesis methods. Recombinant bacteria have great potential in large-scale production of the derivatives of PTOX. In addition to introducing the correct enzymes, the transportation of PTOX into the cells is an important factor, which limits its modification in the bacteria. Here, we improved the cellular uptake of PTOX into Escherichia coli with the help of the zero-valent sulfur transporter YedE1E2 in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). CTAB promoted the uptake of PTOX, but induced the production of reactive oxygen species. A protein complex (YedE1E2) of YedE1 and YedE2 enabled E. coli cells to resist CTAB by reducing reactive oxygen species, and YedE1E2 was a hypothetical transporter. Further investigation showed that YedE1E2 facilitated the uptake of extracellular zero-valent sulfur across the cytoplasmic membrane and the formation of glutathione persulfide (GSSH) inside the cells. The increased GSSH minimized oxidative stress. Our results indicate that YedE1E2 is a zero-valent sulfur transporter and it also facilitates CTAB-assisted uptake of PTOX by recombinant bacteria. The presence of strong ambient vibrations could have a negative impact on applications such as high precision inertial navigation and tilt measurement due to the vibration rectification error (VRE) of the accelerometer. In this paper, we investigate the origins of the VRE using a self-developed MEMS accelerometer equipped with an area-variation-based capacitive displacement transducer. Our findings indicate that the second-order nonlinearity coefficient is dependent on the frequency but the VRE remains constant when the displacement amplitude of the excitation is maintained at a constant level. This frequency dependence of nonlinearity is a result of several factors coupling with each other during signal conversion from acceleration to electrical output signal. These factors include the amplification of the proof mass's amplitude as the excitation frequency approaches resonance, the nonlinearity in capacitance-displacement conversion at larger displacements caused by the fringing effect, and the offset of the mechanical suspension's equilibrium point from the null position of the differential capacitance electrodes. This paper introduces a novel single-layer microstrip patch element designed to achieve a wide beamwidth, in order to address the growing demand for wide-angle scanning capabilities in modern phased array systems. The proposed element, comprising a slot-etched circular patch and an array of metallized holes arranged in square rings, offers a unique approach to beam shaping. By carefully adjusting parameters such as the slot structure and feeding position, our element is engineered to simultaneously excite both the TM01 and TM21 modes, a key feature that contributes to its wide beamwidth characteristics. Through the constructive interference of these modes, our element demonstrates a remarkable 3 dB beamwidth of approximately 150° in both principal planes, showcasing its potential for wide-angle scanning applications. To validate the practical performance of this proposed element, two linear phased arrays are manufactured and experimentally evaluated. The simulation results confirm the wide-angle scanning capability of the antennas in both the E-plane and H-plane. Furthermore, the experimental assessment demonstrates that these linear phased arrays can effectively generate scanning beams within a frequency range of 25 GHz to 28 GHz, covering a wide angular range from −60° to 60°, while maintaining a gain loss within 3 dB. This innovative design approach not only offers a promising solution for achieving a wide beamwidth in microstrip patch elements, but also holds significant potential for the development of cost-effective phased arrays with wide-angle scanning capabilities, making it a valuable contribution to the advancement of phased array technology. Insulators, pivotal to the integrity of railway catenaries, demand impeccable functioning to prevent system failures. Their consistent assessment is vital for railway safety. Current insulator evaluations in subways predominantly involve human intervention, a method fraught with inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and oversights, exacerbated by the complex backdrop of subway tunnels and minuscule defect dimensions. This study introduces an enhanced algorithm, anchored in the YOLOv5 framework, to refine insulator defect identification. Challenges in defect detection include limited, imbalanced data samples and adaptability. Addressing this, an accurate catenary model mirrors the subway line's architecture, facilitating the creation of synthetic instances of both intact and impaired insulators. An atomization technique augments the dataset volume, fortifying the algorithm's resilience in reduced visibility conditions, such as fog. Tackling sample equilibrium, the study introduces an equilibrium loss function, assigning disparate weights to various sample categories during training, thereby sharpening the algorithm's focus on positive instances, particularly those that are challenging to discern, and rectifying the disproportion in sample categories. Incorporating lightweight structures like GhostNet and the Efficient Channel Attention Network (ECA-Net) channel attention scheme not only diminishes the network's computational demands, thereby elevating the detection capabilities, but also minimizes superfluous data processing, enhancing the accuracy in identifying smaller targets. Empirical analyses indicate substantial model optimization: a size reduction to 60 pp of its original (from 15 MB to 9 MB), a near 1.4 pp increase in mean average precision (mAP) to 96.57%, and a tripling of the detection speed (from 30 to 90 FPS). Procambarus clarkii is the most widely distributed freshwater shrimp in China, with important economic value and great potential for development. The forkheadboxL2 (Foxl2) gene has been found to be involved in the reproductive development of many crustaceans. To understand the role of the Foxl2 gene in the gonad development of P. clarkii, we designed CDS-specific primers for the P. clarkii Foxl2 (PcFoxl2) gene and cloned its CDS sequence using RT-PCR. The nucleotide and protein sequence information was then analyzed through bioinformatics analysis. The expression and subcellular localization of PcFoxl2 in various tissues were detected using qRT-PCR and in situ hybridization. The effects of PcFoxl2 knockdown on gonad development were investigated using RNA interference. The results showed that the CDS length of the PcFoxl2 gene was 1614 bp and encoded 537 amino acids. Protein sequence comparison and phylogenetic analysis showed that PcFoxl2 was the closest relative to Crayfish. qRT-PCR analysis indicated that the expression level of PcFoxl2 in the testis was significantly higher (>40 fold) than that in the ovary (p < 0.01). The in situ hybridization results showed that PcFoxl2 was expressed in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus of egg cells, and that the expression was strongest in egg cells at the early stage of yolk synthesis, while weak in the secondary oocytes. The positive signal was strongest in the spermatocyte nucleolus, while only a trace signal was observed in the cytoplasm. After interfering with the PcFoxl2 gene using dsRNA, the expression of PcFoxl2 in the RNA interference group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and this interference effect lasted for one week. Moreover, the gonad index of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group (p < 0.05) after 10 days of P. clarkii cultivation following PcFoxl2 knockdown. The expression levels of the nanos and S3a genes, which are related to gonad development, decreased significantly after PcFoxl2 gene interference. The results suggest that the Foxl2 gene is involved in the growth and development of gonads, particularly in the development of testis, and is related to the early development of oocytes. Graphene quantum dots (GQDs), as 0D graphene nanomaterials, have aroused increasing interest in chemiresistive gas sensors owing to their remarkable physicochemical properties and tunable electronic structures. Research on GQDs has been booming over the past decades, and a number of excellent review articles have been provided on various other sensing principles of GQDs, such as fluorescence-based ion-sensing, bio-sensing, bio-imaging, and electrochemical, photoelectrochemical, and electrochemiluminescence sensing, and therapeutic, energy and catalysis applications. However, so far, there is no single review article on the application of GQDs in the field of chemiresistive gas sensing. This is our primary inspiration for writing this review, with a focus on the chemiresistive gas sensors reported using GQD-based composites. In this review, the various synthesized strategies of GQDs and its composites, gas sensing enhancement mechanisms, and the resulting sensing characteristics are presented. Finally, the current challenges and future prospects of GQDs in the abovementioned application filed have been discussed for the more rational design of advanced GQDs-based gas-sensing materials and innovative gas sensors with novel functionalities. In order to explore the aromatic differences between Xinjiang cow milk powder and specialty milk powder (donkey, camel, and horse milk powder), Gas Chromatography-Ion Mobility Spectrometry (GC-IMS) analysis was employed to investigate the volatile compounds in these four types of milk powders. A total of 61 volatile substances were detected, with ketones, aldehydes, and alcohols being the primary flavor components in the milk powders. While the aromatic components of the different milk powders showed similarities in terms of types, there were significant differences in their concentrations, exhibiting distinct characteristics for each type. The Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) showed that there were 15, 14, and 23 volatile compounds that could be used for discrimination of cow milk powder against specialty milk powders, respectively. And it was validated by Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis, and finally, 8, 6, and 19 volatile compounds were identified as valid differential marker substances. To facilitate visual discrimination between the different milk powders, we established GC-IMS fingerprint spectra based on the final discriminant markers. The effects of drawing parameters and annealing process on the properties and microstructure of single crystal copper wire are studied using a wire-drawing machine, heat-treatment equipment, microcomputer-controlled electronic universal tester, resistance tester, and scanning electron microscope. The results show that, after drawing the single-crystal copper wire with a single-pass deformation of 14%, the grains elongate along the tensile direction, tensile strength increases from 500.83 MPa to 615.5 Mpa, and resistivity changes from 1.745 × 10−8 Ω·m to 1.732 × 10−8 Ω·m. After drawing at a drawing rate of 500 m/min, the degree of grain refinement increases and tensile strength increases from 615.5 Mpa to 660.26 Mpa. When a copper wire of Φ0.08 mm is annealed, its tensile strength decreases from 660.26 Mpa to 224.7 Mpa, and elongation increases from 1.494% to 19.87% when the annealing temperature increases to 400 °C. In radar electronic countermeasures, as the difference between jamming and targets continues to decrease, traditional methods that are implemented based on classical features are currently unable to meet the requirements of jamming detection. Compared with classical features such as texture, scale, and shape, shadow has better discernability and separability. In this paper, target shadow is investigated and applied to detect jamming in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images, and a SAR false target identification method based on shadow features is proposed. First, a difference image is generated by change detection, which can extract the shadow region in single-time SAR images. Then, a three-step differentiation condition is proposed, which can distinguish false targets from real targets. Simulated experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively extract the shadow region in SAR images and accurately distinguishreal and false targets. Low-rank coal accounts for over half of China's proven coal reserves. The possibility of coal and gas outbursts in low-rank coal is higher, especially in the m·agmatic thermal evolution area. The complexity of coal's molecular structure is one of the reasons for problems during the process of mining operations. Different analysis techniques, including XRD, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, were used to obtain the molecular characteristics of magmatic thermal evolution coal samples and normal coal samples, so that a comparative study could be carried out to investigate the influence of the magmatic thermal evolution effect on the molecular structure of low-rank coal. The ranges of the aromatic interlayer spacing (d002), average stacking heights (Lc) and stacking layer number (Nave) of the thermally evolved coal samples are 3.41–3.51 Å, 22.76–27.02 Å, and 6.68–7.70, respectively. The ranges of the full width at half maximum ratio (FD1/FG) and the peak integral intensity ratio (ID1/IG) are 2.16–2.19 and 1.55–1.84, respectively. Compared with the normal coal samples, those affected by magmatic thermal evolution have smaller d002, ID1/IG, and FD1/FG values, but larger Lc values. The results indicate that the thermally evolved coal samples have more ordered structures and more developed microcrystalline structure sizes than normal coal samples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Previous studies have highlighted the salinization caused by the use of seawater to flush toilets and industrial wastewater entering the urban wastewater systems in coastal areas. Thus, in this study, the effect of salinity on N2O emissions during the partial nitrification process, as well as the emission mechanism, was investigated using a partial nitrification system of wastewater as the research object. The results showed that (1) the increase in salinity decreased the oxidation rate of NH4+ and the formation rate of NO2− during partial nitrification; (2) the increase in salinity increased the N2O emissions during NH4+ oxidation and NH2OH oxidation and decreased the formation rate of NO2−-N during hydroxylamine oxidation; (3) the total N2O emissions during hydroxylamine oxidation were less than those during ammonia nitrogen oxidation, and a greater amount of NO2− was reduced to N2 instead of N2O during hydroxylamine oxidation; and (4) a novel finding was that, during partial nitrification with the available organic matter, the N2O emissions via heterotrophic denitrification by heterotrophic bacteria should not be ignored, and the increase in salinity can increase the N2O emissions generated via heterotrophic denitrification. The 6082 alloy is used to produce DC (direct-chilling) billets for subsequent forging or rolling processes. It is necessary to control the solidification structure in casting billets during the casting process. Based on the previous work, the energy of the magnetic field was found to reduce the formation work of the larger cluster in the melt, leading to the formation of larger clusters in the melt, facilitating nucleation and refining the solidification structure. Inspired by this, the pulsed magnetic field melt treatment was applied upon the launder of the casting platform to affect the morphology, size and distribution of α-Al dendrites in the 6082 alloy DC-casting billet with a diameter of 380 mm. The experiment result shows that after the pulsed magnetic field melt treatment, the morphology of α-Al grains in the billet changed from coarse dendritic to small globular and its size was reduced by 18.5-45.4% compared to the existing process. Meanwhile, the difference in morphology of α-Al between the billet centre and edge decreased at the same time. Heart failure is a global health concern with significant implications for healthcare systems. Left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) provide mechanical support for patients with severe heart failure. However, the placement of the LVAD outflow graft within the aorta has substantial implications for hemodynamics and can lead to aortic insufficiency during long-term support. This study employs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to investigate the impact of different LVAD outflow graft locations on aortic hemodynamics. The introduction of valve morphology within the aorta geometry allows for a more detailed analysis of hemodynamics at the aortic root. The results demonstrate that the formation of vortex rings and subsequent vortices during the high-velocity jet flow from the graft interacted with the aortic wall. Time-averaged wall shear stress (TAWSS) and oscillatory shear index (OSI) indicate that modification of the outflow graft location changes mechanical states within the aortic wall and aortic valve. Among the studied geometric factors, both the height and inclination angle of the LVAD outflow graft are important in controlling retrograde flow to the aortic root, while the azimuthal angle primarily determines the rotational direction of blood flow in the aortic arch. To leverage temperature glide in evaporation, a transcritcal heat pump using a CO2-based mixture is investigated from a perspective of simultaneous heat and cold energy storage. Coefficient of performance for heating (COPh) and exergy efficiency are used to evaluate system performance. A parametric investigation on the heat pump is conducted, and the coupling behavior of the cycle with thermal energy storage (TES) material is investigated in view of stored exergy of TES. Optimization and comparative studies are carried out among various mixtures. The results reveal that maximum cycle temperature is mainly affected by high pressure and superheating degree, while minimum cycle temperature, as well as cold exergy, is highly dependent on evaporating temperature glide, with little influence from high pressure. The total exergy efficiency can reach up to 60%. Compared with lever-type amplification mechanisms, bridge-type flexible amplification mechanisms have advantages in terms of amplification ratio and structural compactness. Therefore, they can effectively replace the lever-type amplification mechanism in the existing hair-like sensors and realize the development of miniature hair-like sensors with high sensitivity. With that in mind, a highly sensitive hair-like sensor based on a bridge-type amplification mechanism with distributed flexibility is presented to measure the airflow rate. First, the structural composition and operating principle of the hair-like sensor are described. Then, detailed design and analysis of the hair-like sensor are carried out, focusing on the design of the hair post structure, amplification mechanism, and resonator. Furthermore, the designed hair-like sensor is processed and prepared, and some experimental studies are conducted. The experimental results demonstrate that the developed hair-like sensor can measure the airflow rate with high sensitivity up to 8.56 Hz/(m/s)2. This provides a new concept for the structural design of hair-like sensors and expands the application of bridge-type flexible amplification mechanisms in the field of micro/nano sensors. To explore the feasibility of the application of steel slag powder (SSP) in steam-cured precast concrete, 0% and 20% SSP were used to replace cement and prepare cement paste, and the early age performance of steam-cured (80 °C for 7 h and 7 d) SSP-blended cement paste, including different types and amounts of hydrates, the microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated and compared with those of 28 d standard-cured SSP sample. The results show that SSP addition promotes the generation of laminar C-S-H gels and granular C-S-H gels after an initial 7 h steam curing. Further extending the lasting time of 80 °C steam curing to 7 days favors the production of hydrogarnet and crystalline C-S-H, of which the amount of formation of hydrogarnet in SSP composite cement paste is less and the particle size is smaller than those in the control sample. However, steam curing increases the gap between the number of hydrates formed in SSP-blended cement paste and the control paste. The delayed hydration effect of SSP on cement offsets the promoting effect of steam curing on the hydration of cement; in consequence, the incorporation of SSP seems to be detrimental to the hydration of steam-cured cement paste. Simple Summary: Sika deer is a rare livestock resource in China, and the main purpose of breeding is to obtain antlers that can be used as medicinal herbs. As an important limiting amino acid for ruminants, the dietary level of methionine greatly affects the utilization efficiency of protein in feed. In this study, we investigated the effects of different dietary methionine levels on antler-bearing sika deer by supplementing methionine. The results of the study showed that methionine supplementation improved the quality of Sika deer antlers and increased the efficiency of the animals utilizing acid detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber in the feed. In addition, methionine supplementation altered the composition of free amino acids in the rumen fluid and the composition of fecal bacteria in sika deer. Amino acid balance is central to improving the efficiency of feed protein utilization and for reducing environmental pollution caused by intensive farming. In previous studies, supplementation with limiting amino acids has been shown to be an effective means of improving animal nutrient utilization and performance. In this experiment, the effects of methionine on the apparent digestibility of nutrients, antler nutrient composition, rumen fluid amino acid composition, fecal volatile fatty acids and intestinal bacteria in antler-growing sika deer were investigated by randomly adding different levels of methionine to the diets of three groups of four deer at 0 g/day (CON), 4 g/day (LMet) and 6 g/day (HMet). Methionine supplementation significantly increased the apparent digestibility of organic matter, neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) in the LMet group (p < 0.05). The crude protein and collagen protein of antlers were significantly higher in the LMet and HMet groups compared to the CON group and also significantly higher in the HMet group compared to the LMet group, while the calcium content of antlers was significantly lower in the HMet group (p < 0.05). Ruminal fluid free amino acid composition was altered in the three groups of sika deer, with significant changes in aspartic acid, citrulline, valine, cysteine, methionine, histidine and proline. At the phylum level, Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes were highest in the rectal microflora. Unidentified bacterial abundance was significantly decreased in the HMet group compared to the CON group. Based on the results of principal coordinate analysis (PCoA) and Adonis analysis, there was a significant difference in the composition of the intestinal flora between the CON and HMet groups (p < 0.05). At the genus level, compared with the CON group, the abundance of Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group and Lachnospiraceae_UCG-010 in the LMet group increased significantly (p < 0.05), the abundance of dgA-11_gut_group in the HMet group decreased significantly (p < 0.05) and the abundance of Lachnospiraceae_UCG-010, Saccharofermentans and Lachnospiraceae_NK3A20_group increased significantly. Taken together, the results showed that methionine supplementation was beneficial in increasing the feed utilization efficiency and improving antler quality in sika deer, while affecting the composition of fecal bacteria. This study investigates the impact of radio frequency (RF) heat treatment on heat and mass transfer during the hot air drying of jujube slices. Experiments were conducted at different drying stages, comparing single-hot air drying with hot air combined with RF treatment. Numerical models using COMSOL Multiphysics® were developed to simulate the process, and the results were compared to validate the models. The maximum difference between the simulated value of the center temperature and the experimental value was 6.9 °C, while the minimum difference was 0.1 °C. The maximum difference in average surface temperature was 1.7 °C, with a minimum of 0.3 °C. The determination coefficient (R2) between the simulated experimental values of HA and the early (E-HA + RF), middle (M-HA + RF), and later (L-HA + RF) groups was 0.964, 0.987, 0.961, and 0.977, respectively. The study demonstrates that RF treatment reduces drying time, enhances internal temperature, promotes consistent heat and mass transfer, and accelerates moisture diffusion in jujube slices. Furthermore, the later the RF treatment is applied, the greater the increase in internal temperature and the faster the decrease in moisture content. Simple Summary: Enrofloxacin (EF) is an important antibiotic in global aquaculture. Due to the abuse and the emergence of drug resistance, the excess use of EF has occurred in recent years to result in residue exceeding in the edible tissues of aquatic animals. Withdrawal time (WT) is a red line to ensure food safety for humans. However, there is no related report of WT for EF in yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco). In addition to yellow catfish being sensitive to temperature, it can alter the disposition and elimination of EF and its main metabolite in fish bodies, ciprofloxacin (CF), thereby changing the WT in tissues. Therefore, we will conduct a WT estimation of EF in yellow catfish at different temperatures to establish related regulations to help residue surveillance in fish products. The objective of the present study was to investigate the residue depletion of EF and CF in yellow catfish to estimate its WTs in plasma and tissues after multiple oral doses for 3 days at 20 mg/kg at 15, 20, and 25 °C. Samples were collected at pre-designed time points after oral doses. A validated method was performed to quantify EF and CF in plasma and tissues by high-performance liquid chromatography. Statistical differences were conducted using one-way ANOVA analysis. According to the maximum residue limit of China and Europe considering 95% percentile with 95% confidence, the WTs were estimated to be 44, 72, 66, 99, and 95 days at 15 °C; 32, 66, 65, 86, and 73 days at 20 °C; and 32, 61, 64, 55, and 59 days at 25 °C in the plasma, muscle and skin, gill, liver, and kidney, respectively. We found that increased temperature shortened the WTs in plasma and tissues. There will be great damage in the process of harvesting, transporting, and storing after grain matures. The injury rate is as high as 8% to 12%. After damage, the germination rate of the grain becomes lower, the quality decreases, and it is easily infected with pests and molds. This study of the grain-crushing characteristics is of great significance to ensure grain quality, and an accurate crushing model is a prerequisite for effectively simulating crushing characteristics. This paper studies the shattering characteristics of wheat grains. Two-dimensional slices of wheat grain were obtained using X-ray tomography technology. Then, an accurate three-dimensional outer contour model of the wheat particle was constructed using image filtering and segmentation algorithms. The particle filling process was conducted using EDEM 2018 software to establish a wheat particle simulation model based on the Hertz–Mindlin with a Bonding contact model. Using the DOE experimental design method, single-factor experiments, Plackett–Burman experiments, steepest-climb experiments, and Box–Behnken were designed to study the fragmentation characteristics of wheat particles combined with parameter calibration and physical experiments. The test results show that the normal stiffness per unit area is 7.392 × 1010 N/m3, critical normal stress is 5.293 × 106 Pa, critical tangential stress is 5.001 × 106 Pa, and the relative error about 3%, which verifies the reliability of the simulation parameters in the discrete-element crushing model of wheat grain. This study focuses on two essential aspects: 1. establishing an accurate wheat-grain contour model; and 2. calibrating the bonding parameters of the discrete-element simulation model of wheat grain. The wheat grain discrete-element crushing model and the calibration of its bonding parameters are constructed to provide a foundation for the study of wheat-grain crushing characteristics. It is of great significance to study the situation of wheat grains and where cracks are produced. In this paper, an accurate model of the wheat-grain contour is established, and the bonding parameters of the discrete-element simulation model of the wheat grain are calibrated. The calibration of the model of the discrete elements of wheat-grain fragmentation and its bonding parameters will provide a basis for studying the crushing characteristics of wheat grain. Anaerobic ammonia oxidation bacteria (AnAOB) are difficult to cultivate due to their long start-up time and sensitivity to environmental conditions. In this study, anammox granular sludge was cultured with ordinary activated sludge under influent dissolved oxygen concentrations of 6–8 mg/L, successfully enriching AnAOB. The presence of multiple microorganisms in the activated sludge enabled the anammox system to resist the unfavorable influent environment and sustain system stability. The total nitrogen removal rate reached a maximum of 81%, and the TN effective load increased from 0.1 to 1.5 kg N/m3/d. The results showed that the dissolved oxygen present in the influent did not lead to a breakdown in the anammox system. The protein in the sludge extracellular polymeric substances played an important role in the enrichment of AnAOB, and the sludge settling performance at the bottom of the reactor was better than that at the top of the reactor, with protein/polysaccharide in the range of 5–6.3. Candidatus brocadia and Candidatus kuenenia were the main anammox functional bacteria in the system. On 153 d of reactor operation, their relative abundances were 8.51 and 5.68%, respectively. This study shows that microorganisms in activated sludge contribute to the stability of the anammox system when the influent conditions are appropriate. Finding ways to enable seamless communication between deaf and able-bodied individuals has been a challenging and pressing issue. This paper proposes a solution to this problem by designing a low-cost data glove that utilizes multiple inertial sensors with the purpose of achieving efficient and accurate sign language recognition. In this study, four machine learning models—decision tree (DT), support vector machine (SVM), K-nearest neighbor method (KNN), and random forest (RF)—were employed to recognize 20 different types of dynamic sign language data used by deaf individuals. Additionally, a proposed attention-based mechanism of long and short-term memory neural networks (Attention-BiLSTM) was utilized in the process. Furthermore, this study verifies the impact of the number and position of data glove nodes on the accuracy of recognizing complex dynamic sign language. Finally, the proposed method is compared with existing state-of-the-art algorithms using nine public datasets. The results indicate that both the Attention-BiLSTM and RF algorithms have the highest performance in recognizing the twenty dynamic sign language gestures, with an accuracy of 98.85% and 97.58%, respectively. This provides evidence for the feasibility of our proposed data glove and recognition methods. This study may serve as a valuable reference for the development of wearable sign language recognition devices and promote easier communication between deaf and able-bodied individuals. Lubricant additive plays an important role in reducing the friction and wear for base oil. MAX phase ceramics may have superior advantages for additive application due to their unique nanolayered structure. In this paper, Ti2SnC ceramic is prepared by sintering the elemental mixtures at 1250 °C. In addition, Cu-coated Ti2SnC ceramic is successfully prepared using a chemical plating method for the first time. It is confirmed that the Ti2SnC ceramic has good self-catalytic activity, and a layer of stacking Cu nano-particles can be deposited on the Ti2SnC surface without pretreatment. When the Cu-coated Ti2SnC ceramic powder is doped into PAO10 base oil, the oil can exhibit excellent lubrication properties, where the friction coefficient is as low as 0.095. A layer of tribo-film can be formed during the sliding process when the Cu-coated Ti2SnC ceramic is incorporated into PAO10 base oil, which can reduce the friction coefficient. The superior lubrication properties can be attributed to the synergistic lubrication effect of Ti2SnC ceramic and Cu nano-particles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The presence of lead in wastewater poses a significant threat to human health. To address this issue, coal gangue-based porous ceramics (CGPC) were developed to remove Pb2+ in wastewater. Coal gangue (CG) waste from Lvliang City, Shanxi province in China was used as raw material, and porosity was introduced through the addition of a pore-forming agent and an extrusion molding process. Properties of CGPC were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) to explore its adsorption mechanism. The researchers examined the impact of pH, dosage of adsorbent, initial concentration, duration of adsorption, and temperature on the adsorption efficiency of CGPC. The CGPC of best performance had a porosity of 32.91% and compressive strength of 20.5 MPa prepared at 800 °C under nitrogen atmosphere with 10 wt% Na2CO3 pore-forming agent and 8 wt% CaO-MnO2 combined fluxing agent. The removal rate of Pb2+ in simulated lead-containing wastewater with a concentration of 200 mg/L reached 99.63%, and the maximum adsorption capacity was 32.15 mg/g. The adsorption process of Pb2+ by CGPC involves chemical adsorption and ion exchange. After being regenerated for seven cycles with 1 mol/L NaOH as the desorption agent, the removal rate of Pb2+ by CGPC still had 72%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

DNA methylation is an important epigenetic modification that has been shown to be associated with responses to non-biological stressors. However, there is currently no research on DNA methylation in response to environmental signals in shrimp. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive comparative analysis of DNA methylation profiles and differentially expressed genes between two strains of Litopenaeus vannamei with significantly different cold tolerance through whole genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) and transcriptome sequencing. Between Lv-C and Lv-T (constant temperature of 28 °C and low temperatures of 18 °C and 10 °C) under cytosine-guanine (CG) environments, 39,100 differentially methylated regions (DMRs) were identified, corresponding to 9302 DMR-related genes (DMRGs). The DMRs were mainly located in the gene body (exons and introns). Gene Ontology (GO) analysis showed that these DMRGs were significantly enriched in cell parts, catalytic activity, and metabolic processes. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed significant enrichment of these DMRGs in pathways such as proteasome (ko03050), oxidative phosphorylation (ko00190), mTOR signaling pathway (ko04150), fatty acid metabolism (ko01212), and fatty acid degradation (ko00071). The comprehensive results suggested that L. vannamei mainly regulates gene expression in response to low temperatures through hypermethylation or demethylation of some genes involved in thermogenesis, glycolysis, the autophagy pathway, the peroxisome, and drug metabolism pathways. Microbial factors, including bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, are significant contributors to foodborne illnesses, posing serious food safety risks due to their potential for rapid growth and contamination. Listeria monocytogenes is one of the most common types of foodborne bacteria that can cause serious foodborne diseases or even fatalities. In this study, a novel nucleic acid amplification method called Proofman-LMTIA was employed to detect Listeria monocytogenes contamination in food. This method combines proofreading enzyme-mediated probe cleavage with ladder-shape melting temperature isothermal amplification. A positive recombinant plasmid was used as a control to ensure the accuracy of the detection results, and primers and Proofman probes were specifically designed for the LMTIA. Genomic DNA was extracted, the reaction temperature was optimized, and the primers' specificity was verified using foodborne pathogens like Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli O157:H7, and Salmonella. The sensitivity was assessed by testing serial dilutions of genomic DNA, and the method's applicability was confirmed by detecting artificially contaminated fresh pork. The established LMTIA method exhibited both high specificity and sensitivity. At the optimal reaction temperature of 63 °C, the primers specifically identified Listeria monocytogenes contamination in pork at a concentration of 8.0 ± 0.7 colony-forming units (CFUs) per 25 g. Furthermore, the Proofman-LMTIA method was applied to test Listeria monocytogenes DNA in 30 food samples purchased from a Chinese retail market, and reassuringly, all results indicated no contamination. Proofman-LMTIA can serve as a reliable and rapid method for detecting Listeria monocytogenes in food, contributing to public health by safeguarding consumers from foodborne illnesses, and strengthening food safety regulations.
