This is an article in the field of ceramics and composites. In order to study the early rheological properties of alkali-activated fly ash-slag cementitious system, the composite pastes with different mass ratios of fly ash (FA) to slag (GGBS) and alkaline activator content were prepared. The fluidity and rheological properties of the pastes were tested by mini-cone slump cone, Brookfield DV3T rheometer,respectively. Finally, the hydration exothermic rate of composite pastes with each ratio was tested by isothermal calorimeter. Results show that when FA/GGBS ratio is 3∶7, the fluidity of paste with 4% NaOH content is the lowest. With the increase of FA mass ratio and NaOH molar mass, the fluidity of alkali-activated FA-GGBS cementitious system increased, and the yield stress and plastic viscosity decreased. The growth of FA content decreases the early hydration rate significantly, while the increase of alkali activator content remarkably increases the peak rate of hydration heat release.

Chicken breast as the raw material was fully sheared and then the obtain minced meat was rested at 4 °C for different time (0~48 h). The thixotropy and rheological properties of the chicken minced meat was further analyzed, and the effect of resting time on the properties of the chicken minced meat gel was also investigated. The results showed that the chicken minced meat exhibited pseudoplasticity, thixotropy and weak gel properties (G'>G"), and the viscosity, thixotropy, elasticity (G') and viscosity (G") of the chicken minced meat gradually increased with the increase of resting time. The cooking loss rate of the chicken minced meat gel significantly increased (P<0.05) with the increase of resting time. The water-holding capacity, chewiness and viscosity of the chicken minced meat gel rested for 24 h, the strength and hardness of the chicken minced meat gel rested for 12 h, and the elasticity of the chicken minced meat gel rested for 36 h showed a significant increase (P<0.05). The above results show that the thixotropic properties of the chicken minced meat obviously affect the gelling properties, and the resting treatment has the potential to adjust the processing properties and the quality of meat products. WS-HPDSP exhibited less thixotropic behavior than CS-HPDSP, and showed better stability in three interval thixotropy test (3iTT). In conclusion, WS-HPDSP showed less yield stress and thixotropy compared with CS-HPDSP. Silty soil and the silt itself have strong thixotropy, when the external force disturbance, it will have a certain damage effect on the superstructure. In order to study the change rule of thixotropy of unconsolidated soil and its influencing factors, we carried out laboratory model tests on the silty soil in the planned waterway silt treatment project of Changxing Island Industrial Park, Dalian. The method of indoor compaction hammer was used to simulate the disturbance degree of soil samples. Cone drop test was carried out on silt soil under different disturbance degrees (compaction 10 min, 15 min, 25 min), with a focus on analyzing the strength recovery rule of soil samples under different standing times (0 d, 7 d, 15 d, 25 d, 30 d), and obtaining the strength recovery factor. The results show that under the same disturbance, the undrained shear strength increases gradually with the increase of standing time until it returns to the undisturbed state. Under the same standing time, the undrained shear strength decreases with the increase of disturbance degree. The greater the disturbance degree of the same soil sample, the slower the strength recovery degree; the degree of strength recovery is positively correlated with time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, sodium silicate with varying modulus was synthesized. The influence of sodium silicate modulus on the rheology of kaolin slurry was investigated. Based on the rheological analysis, it has been determined that the kaolin slurry exhibits the lowest shear viscosity when the sodium silicate modulus is 2.5 and the addition amount is 0.33% (mass fraction). Four different models are used to fit the flow curves, and it is found that the Herschel-Bulkley model could obtain the greatest correlation. In addition, the fitting degree is primarily influenced by the shear stress in the low shear rate region, which is mainly affected by the thixotropy of slurry. Then, the thixotropy of slurry with different sodium silicate modulus is characterized by shear hysteresis ring area, which verifies the view above. Finally, the molecular structure of sodium silicate with different modulus was analyzed using infrared spectroscopy. The results indicate the presence of a weak vibration at 589.5 cm-1 in the vibrational spectrum of sodium silicate with a modulus of 2.5, suggesting the presence of distorted 6-membered rings. The annular silicates interact with kaolin particles through Coulombic force, leading to the formation of large aggregates. This interaction prevents the connection between the edges and faces, disrupts the thixotropic structure, and consequently reduces viscosity. This study is helpful to understand the deep reason of the influence of sodium silicate modulus on the mechanism of deflocculation, and provide scientific basis for optimizing the formulation and processing of ceramic slurry. The research status of thixotropy at home and abroad was reviewed, including thixotropy classification, thixotropy model and thixotropy measurement. Thixotropy refers to the behavior that the viscosity of Non-Newtonian fluid changes with shear time at a certain temperature・ The research on thixotropy mechanism and thixotropy model will help people to have a deeper understanding of the thixotropy of materials, which is conducive to the promotion and application of thixotropy materials; secondly, the common thixotropic agents such as fumed silica, organic bentonite, hydrogenated castor oil, polyamide wax and so on were summarized・ A brief introduction was given to the rheological modification principle of thixotropic agents in the system and their application in polymer materials. Three types ol water reducers, namely polycarboxylate superplasticizer, melamine super plasticizer, and naphthalene superplasticizer, were used in this study to test the fluidity, rheology, and strength ol backlill at different dosages ol water reducer. The effects ol water reducer type and dosage on the Iluidity, yield stress, plastic viscosity, apparent viscosity, thixotropy, and strength ol the backlill were studied. Research result showed that adding a water reducer can significantly improve slurry's Iluidity, and reduce yield stress and apparent viscosity. Oil-based drilling fluids have low gel strengths and pipe sticking by the settled drilled cuttings is easy to be encountered. A polyether fatty acid gelling agent LQZ has been developed to deal with this problem. The molecular structure, thermal stability, gelling property and emulsion stability of the synthesized LQZ were analyzed using IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric curve, gel strength measurement and emulsion stability test. The effects of the base oil for formulating the mud, oil/water ratio, density and temperature on the gelling performance of the LQZ were investigated. It was found that in the LQZ molecules there are polar groups such as hydroxyl, amide and ether bond which can form network structures. The network structures render the LQZ a fast weak gelling characteristics. At 300 ℃, the LQZ has no obvious thermal decomposition. The LQZ is beneficial to the emulsion stability of the oil-based muds at a concentration of less than 0.85%. The LQZ can be used in various nonaqueous drilling fluids formulated with white oil, diesel oil or synthetic fluids, with white oil-based drilling fluids being the best environment for the LQZ. LQZ in an oilbased mud with oil/water ratio of 8∶2 and density of 2.1 g/cm³ has the optimum gelling capacity at 190 ℃, the yield point, the low shear rate，φ6 and φ3 reading and the gel strengths are all doubled. Compared with the similar products produced abroad, LQZ has the advantages of increasing gel strengths of a mud, without simultaneously increasing the plastic viscosity of the mud. In field operation, 1% LQZ in a white oil-based drilling fluid and in a diesel oil-based drilling fluid increased the gel strengths of the muds by more than twice, and the plastic viscosity was only slightly increased. A thixotropic cement slurry can be obtained by adding thixotropic agent into a common cement slurry, and this thixotropic cement slurry can be used to deal with severe mud losses and difficulties in cementing a well penetrating weak formations. Thixotropic cement slurries presently in use have several shortages such as weak thixotropy, sensitive to temperature changes and poor overall performance etc., limiting their use in dealing with downhole problems. To improve the thixotropy of a cement slurry, a new thixotropic agent was developed by combining an organic polymer TDA-1 and the inorganic bentonite. TDA-1 is a polymer synthesized from isopentenol polyoxyethylene ether (TPEG), N, N -dimethyl acrylamide (DMAA) and acrylic acid (AA). TDA-1 and bentonite were then hybridized to produce the new thixotropic agent CBJ-1. The effects of the new hybridized inorganic thixotropic agent CBJ-1 on the performance of cement slurries were studied. Using IR and XRD, the molecular structure of CBJ-1 was characterized. Using gel strength test, the thixotropy of the cement slurry was measured. The experimental results show that the new thixotropic agent was successfully synthesized. It has wide range of work temperature, thus can be used to mitigate the temperature sensitivity problem of a thixotropic cement slurry. A cement slurry treated with CBJ-1 has big difference between the initial gel strength and the final gel strength, meaning that the cement slurry has good thixotropy. CBJ-1 has no negative effect on the filtration rate and thickening performance of the cement slurry. The experimental results show that CBJ-1 has excellent general performance. A chemically cross-linkable molecular self-conjugated polymer, HCG-2， was synthesized from acrylamide， acrylic acid, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, functional monomers containing cross-linking sites, and cetyl dimethyl allyl ammonium chloride， and its synthesis conditions were optimized. The thixotropy and viscoelasticity of HCG-2 were investigated, and it was found that a dynamic structure could be formed between HCG-2 molecules in aqueous solution， and the surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate could improve the strength of this structure; the relationship between temperature and the thixotropy and viscoelasticity of the system was investigated, and it was found that the interaction between HCG-2 molecular chains under the influence of the surfactant was weak and could not withstand too high temperature However, after using chemical cross-linking agents to form chemical bonds between the molecular chains, the temperature and shear resistance of the system at 180℃ could meet the requirements of the industry standard. The overburden pressure has a important influence on the thixotropy of structural clay of the Zhanjiang Formation. The different overburden pressures lead to different strength of thixotropy of the structural clay of the Zhanjiang Formation, resulting in differences in the degree of foundation strength recovery of the structural clay of the Zhanjiang Formation. Studying the influence mechanism of overburden pressure on the thixotropy of structural clay in the Zhanjiang Formation will help to understand the essential reasons for the different degrees of foundation strength recovery caused by overburden pressure. The direct shear test and scanning electron microscope test were carried out on the structural clay of Zhanjiang Formation under different overburden pressure after disturbance at different resting stages to explore the variation law of soil thixotropic strength ratio with overburden pressure and the evolution law of soil microstructure, the influence mechanism of overburden pressure on the thixotropy of structural clays in Zhanjiang Formation was discussed from macro and micro perspectives. The results show that under the same overburden pressure. with the increase of the resting stages, the shear strength and thixotropic strength ratio of the soil increase, the thixotropic strength ratio and the resting stages show a power function relationship, the probability entropy of the soil and the fractal dimension of particle distribution decrease, the soil particles tend to agglomerate, and the orientation of the arrangement is gradually strengthened: when the resting stages are the same, the shear strength of the soil increases with the increase of the overburden pressure, However, with the increase of the resting stages, the thixotropic strength ratio of the soil decreases. The thixotropic strength ratio is a function of the overburden pressure. The decrease range of soil probabilistic entropy and fractal dimension of particle distribution decreases, and the rate of the development of the soil particles toward agglomeration and the growth of the orientation of the soil particles becomes slower. Modified hydrogenated castor oil, polyamide wax and polyethylene wax were used as thixotropic agents of PERC back silver paste. The effects of different kinds of thixotropic agents on the properties of PERC back silver paste were studied. The above three thixotropic agents were used to prepare organic carriers, and PERC back silver pastes were prepared by combining the organic carrier, silver powder and self-made glass powder. The viscosity, thixotropy, storage stability, wet-weight and paste leakage of PERC back silver paste were tested by rotary viscometer, rheometer and printing press. The results show that the modified hydrogenated castor oil has the most obvious effect on the viscosity, thixotropy and storage stability of the PERC back silver paste, the polyamide wax is in the middle and the polyethylene wax is the weakest. After 1 % thixotropic agents were added in the organic carrier, the viscosity of the PERC back silver paste can increase by 1 500–20 000 mPa • s, the printing wet weight increase by 0. 001–0. 019 g/piece, and the leakage of the paste decrease by 0. 57–2. 22 g/piece. The epoxy resin E51 was modified by PA and DEOA, and polar groups such as hydroxyl, tertiary amine and amide bond were introduced into the epoxy resin molecular structure through ring-opening addition reaction, presenting ideal hydrophilcity. The modified epoxy resin system does not need an external thixotropic agent. After mixing with water, the hydrogen bond interaction between the resin particles can endow the system with excellent thixotropy. The effects of the reaction temperature, type and molar ratio of reactants on the properties of the filler -free waterborne epoxy resin with high thixotropyare discussed and the optimal preparation conditions are obtained. The test results show that after mixing with the curing agent, the waterborne epoxy adhesive has excellent anti-sagging performance, good mechanical properties of the cured product, and high practicability. The earlier thixotropic model of waxy crude oil was basically a viscoplastic model, in which the contribution of viscoelasticity was not considered, and the influence of viscoelasticity was not taken into account in the numerical simulation of pipeline shutdown and restart accordingly. Therefore, the viscoelastic-thixotropic model with 9 unknown parameters was established based on the principle of mechanical analogy and the characteristics of "viscoelasticity-yieldthixotropy" of waxy crude oil. The model was verified by experimental data of two waxy crude oils with different physical properties under three typical loading modes of shear rate step, shear rate hysteresis loop and constant shear rate near the solidification point. The results show that the average relative deviations between the fitting values of the three testing models and the measured values are 4.6%, 6.6% and 4.2%, respectively, which realizes a complete and accurate description of the rheological response of waxy crude oil during the full loading process with one model, and provides important basic data for the hydraulic characteristics of the oil pipeline during the shutdown and restart process and the safe operation of the pipeline.

The rheological behaviors of acylated collagen solutions are investigated by the method of rheology. The results demonstrate that acylated collagen is belong to pseudoplastic fluid and exhibits shear thinning behavior with the increase of shear rate. When the temperature increases from 25 to 3() ‹C, acylated collagen molecules are more mobile and the disentanglement of acylated collagen molecules decreases, which results in the decrease of shear viscosity, storage modulus (Gz), loss modulus (G") and complex viscosity. However, loss factor and the values of compliance increase with the increase of temperature, suggesting that acylated collagen solutions are more resistant to the deformation force at lower temperature. The fitting results based on mathematical model show that Power-law, Carreau and Cross models could describe the steady shear curves of acylated collagen solution. The influence of superplasticizers (SPs) including pofy carboxy late (PC), pofynaphthalenesullonate (PNS) and pofymelaminesullonate (PMS) on the rheofogical properties (yield stress and plastic viscosity) and thixotropy of cemented tailings backfill (CTB) mixtures were quantitatively analyzed using Brookfield RST-SST rheometer. The results indicate that the rheofogical characteristics of CTB mixture with the incorporation of SPs are in accord with the Bingham model. Inspite of SP type，the addition of superplasticizer will reduce the yield stress， plastic viscosity and hysteresis loop area of CTBs, and these rheofogical properties and thixotopy improved (value decreased) with the increase of SP content PC is found to be the most effective SP in improving the rheofogical properties of CTB. However，the yield stress, plastic viscosity and hysteresis loop area of CTB increase and the effects of SPs also decrease with hydration time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effects of superplasticizer agent and retarder on the apparent viscosity, thixotropy and rheological properties of 3D printing building mortars at different shear rates were investigated. The results show that when the amount of superplasticizer agent is increased, the apparent viscosity is almost unchanged, the thixotropy will first decrease and then tend to be unchanged, the plastic viscosity will decrease first and then increase, and the yield stress will gradually decrease; the retarder will increase the apparent viscosity of the 3D printing building mortar and increase the yield stress of the slurry. When the amount is higher, the thixotropy of the mortar will increase. The rheological properties of 3D printing mortar can be improved by adding appropriate superplasticizer and retarder, which can meet the printing requirements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The influence of mine filter pressing tailings on performance of the adhesive after replacing sand with different replacement ratios was studied in this paper. Results indicated that with the increase of replacement ratio of filter pressing tailings the dry and wet density of the adhesive is gradually reduced and increased separately. The best replacement ratio of antislip performance of the adhesive is 30%. The tensile adhesion strength of the the adhesive has been improved with the filter pressing tailings. When the replacement ratio reaches 20% tensile adhesion strength can meet the requirements of standard JC/T 547-2017. From SEM analysis the internal structure with adding filter pressing tailings of the the adhesive is more dense and the hydration product is more abundant than normal the adhesive. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) of salt gypsum were carried out to obtain the particle morphology and chemical composition. The RS-SST rheometer was used to study the effect of salt gypsum dosage on the yield stress, plastic viscosity and thixotropy of salt gypsum-cement slurry. The results show that the main chemical components of salt gypsum are calcium sulfate dihydrate and calcium carbonate; the rheology of salt gypsum-cement slurry belongs to Bingham fluid model. With the increase of shear rate, the slurry shows obvious shear thinning, with the increase of salt-gypsum content, the yield stress and plastic viscosity of cement slurry increase, and its thixotropy gradually increases. At present, there is no national standard method to regulate the test method of thixotropy. The light industry standard of QB/T 1545-1992 is still available to test the thixotropy of nonmetallic mineral materials. The test method of thixotropy introduced in QB/T 1545-1992 is simple and has no detailed description and research on effect factors, such as the added amount of electrolyte and it is not precise enough to test thixotropy. In this research, the method of thixotropy and its affecting factors, especially the best added amount of electrolyte and the assembly time were studied by testing the thixotropy of three kinds of bentonite samples and one kind of saponite according to the standard of QB/T 1545-1992. It was found that there was a great impact of added electrolyte on the thixotropy. Different kinds of minerals, even different samples of the same kind of mineral have different optical amounts of electrolyte added into the mineral dispersions. Hereby, the optical amount of electrolyte should be tested for each sample. It was also found that the assembly time of the mineral dispersion has a great effect on thixotropy. The assembly time of 10 to 12 hours should be strictly adhered to, followed by the standard method of QB/T 1545-1992 to obtain good precision. The longer assembly time will increase thixotropy significantly, which cannot be calculated. The method of testing thixotropy and its affecting factors, in order to provide the basis for improvement for existing thixotropy test method are the main focus of this work.

The nitromethane (NM) gels were prepared by using fumed silica( SiO2 ) and carboxymethyl cellulose nitrate (CMCN) as gelled propellant, respectively. The formation mechanism of two types of gels and the difference of rheological properties between NM/SiO2 and NM/CMCN gels caused by the gel type were investigated. The yield stress, thixotropy, creep and thermosensitivity of two types of gels were investigated by linear rheological methods. The flow data and creep data of gels were fitted by using Power-Law model, Herschel-Bulkley model and Burger model, respectively. The experimental results show that NM/SiO2 gel is a kind of accumulation gel agglomerated with small molecular aggregates formed by SiO2 particles with hydrogen bonds, while NM/CMCN propegel is a physical gel with a crosslinking network structure which is formed by non-covalent interaction of hydrophobic bonds and interchain hydrogen bonds between amphiphilic group along the macromolecular chain of CMCN and small organic molecules. The non-Newton coefficient n of two types of gels are all less than 0.60. Compared with NM/CMCN gel, NM/SiO2 gel has higher yield stress, shear thinning, elastic compliance and elastic responsivity, and lower thixotropy recovery and internal friction. Outside annular chemical packer (ACP) for horizontal wells is determined to be used to enhance the development efficiency of horizontal wells and solve the technique problems such as water hinting, water controlling and water plugging in this kind of wells. Based on the key technique problems of thixotropy, outside filling shape stability and plugging strength of ACP materials, a new type outside ACP material XAN-SP has been studied. The thixotropy, gel strength and filled shape stability for the new slurry have been analyzed by compressive strength, liquidity and shear strength tests. The plugging strength and expansion property of XAN-SP were evaluated during the process of XAN-RC plugging stimulated experiment; three stimulated tests flows were designed to imitate ACP applied in field case, and then the technique parameters of ACP for site operation were obtained. The experimental results showed that XAN-SP is an advanced ACP material characterized by well thixotropy, stable filled shape and high plugging strength; besides, the final site practice indicated that ACP treating parameters determined by stimulated test could guarantee the field operation treated smoothly and safely. Aiming at the synergistic effects between different kinds of cellulose ethers, hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) mixed systems in aqueous medium were studied. Viscosity and oscillatory measurements were employed to monitor the parameters of apparent viscosity, theology and viscoelasticity of HEC/CMC mixed systems with various mass mixing ratios, so as to analyze the mechanism of interactions between ionic and nonionic cellulose ethers. The synergistic viscosity effects were observed in HEC/CMC mixed systems with thixotropy decreased, and the microscopic structures of mixed systems were further stabilized. The synergistic effects were more obviously revealed as m (HEC) : m (CMC) approaching to 1 : 1. When m(HEC) : m(CMC) became 2 : 1, the sharing electron field effect was formed. A relatively fragile network structure is presented as m(HEC) : m(CMC) is 1 : 2, due to the weaker interactions between HEC and CMC molecules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
