A method of ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole / electrostatic field Orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometry was developed for the determination of 16 organophosphate esters (OPEs) in water and sediment samples. The water samples were extracted by solid phase extraction (Oasis HLB column) while the sediment samples were ultrasonically extracted using 0.1% formic acid methanol and then purified using Sep-Pak PSA column. The treated samples were separated on a Hypersil Gold-C18 column (1.9 μmx2.1 mmx50 mm) and eluted with 0.2% aqueous formic acid solution and methanol. The detection and analysis were performed in electrospray ionization and dd-MS2 + confirmation, in positive mode. The analyzed 16 OPEs were quantitated by external standard method. The lowest detection limits were 3.10- 116.70 ng/L and the linear correlation coefficients were 0.940 7-0.999 8. The developed method was used to analyze the target compounds in water samples and sediment samples from Luoma Lake. In 21 water samples, the concentrations of ∑16OPEs were in the range of 2.99-1 113.09 ng/L, with a median concentration of 408.68 ng/L and an average concentration of 420.03 ng/L. In 6 sediment samples, the concentration of ∑16OPEs were in the range of 15.70-41.28 ng/g, with an median concentration of 27.06 ng/g and an average concentrations of 27.49 ng/g. Compared with the data reported from other water bodies in China or other countries, the concentrations of OPEs in Luoma Lake were at a median/low level. In order to investigate the pollution status and sedimentary records of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the sediments of Houguan Lake in Wuhan, this study collected 7 surface sediment samples and 1 sedimentary column sample in September 2020. The sedimentary column chronological sequence of the Lake was constructed using a combined 210Pb and 137Cs dating method. The content of 16 optimized PAHs was analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and the source of PAHs was analyzed using characteristic ratio method. The results showed that the average concentration of PAHs in the surface sediment was (247.90±32.01) ng/g, belonging to a moderate pollution level, with 3 and 4 ring PAHs being the main pollutants, and there was no significant difference in spatial distribution. The sedimentation rate of the sedimentary column is 0.73 cm/a, and the collected sedimentary column can reflect the sedimentation process in the past 160 years. The average content of 16 PAHs in the sedimentary column is 56.84 ng/g, indicating a low pollution level. According to the composition characteristics of PAHs, the sedimentation process is divided into four stages. The composition characteristics of PAHs in different stages differ significantly, reflecting the transformation of energy structure in different historical periods. Before the 21st century, there was a significant positive correlation between the content of PAHs and socio-economic indicators such as GDP and permanent population. In recent years, the content of PAHs have been mainly affected by meteorological conditions such as evaporation and temperature, indicating that with China' s emphasis on ecological civilization construction, Wuhan has achieved certain results in ecological environment protection. Halogenated aromatic compounds (HACs) exhibit environmental ubiquity, persistence, bioaccumulation, and diverse toxic effects, prompting widespread concern about their pollution and potential risks. This study investigated four categories of typical HACs in fish samples from five common species in South China. Results showed that the mean±standard deviation (range) of toxic equivalent quantity (TEQ) of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/ furans (PCDD/Fs), dioxins-like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL-PCBs), polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins/furans (PBDD/Fs), and total dioxins (dioxins) were (0.0680±0.3230) pg⋅g-1(0 ~2.21 pg⋅g-1), (0.118±0.124) pg⋅g-1 (0.000451 ~0.528 pg⋅g-1), (0.139±0.164) pg⋅g-1 (0.00882 ~0.917 pg⋅g-1), and (0.325±0.366) pg⋅g-1 (0.0409 ~ 2.30 pg⋅g-1) (based on wet weight), respectively. All values were below the specified TEQ limit set by the European Union (EU) for dioxins in fish. Among the five fish species, mandarin fish exhibited the highest total TEQ and intake risk, followed by eel and catfish, while perch had the lowest. However, no statistical differences were observed in the TEQ among these five fish species. In comparison to global data, the concentrations of polybromodiphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in these fish samples (0.347±0.297) ng⋅g-1(0.0191 ~ 1.40 ng⋅g-1) (based on wet weight) were at moderate or low levels with a changing trend among species: salmon>eel>perch>mandarin fish>catfish. The PCDD/Fs in these fish samples were predominantly high-chlorinated, possibly originating from PCDD/Fs-polluted feed and the use of pentachlorophenol/pentachlorophenol sodium. PCB-118 and PCB-105 were the dominant congeners of DL-PCBs in these samples, primarily sourced from commercial PCB products and various metal smelting processes. The sources of PBDEs in these fishes included commercial PBDE mixtures and the debromination of high-brominated PBDEs. PBDD/Fs showed dominance in high-brominated PBDFs, and their pollution was closely associated with PBDEs. The intake carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risk values of these four HACs via fish consumption ranged from 6.56x 10-6 to 2.87x 10-5 and 0.0314 to 0.114, respectively, for the residents from South China, with higher values for children compared to teenagers and adults. PBDD/Fs contributed significantly higher total TEQ and intake risks (45.6% on average) than the other HACs, emphasizing the ongoing need for continuous attention to their pollution in biota and associated risks. Objective: To investigate the pollution levels and influencing factors of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in household dust in five cities in northern China. Methods: Based on the "Chinese Indoor Environment and Health Surveillance" project carried out by the National Institute of Environmental Health, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2018-2019, during the warm season (April 2018 to September 2018) and the cold season (November 2018 to March 2019), Lanzhou in Northwest China, Shijiazhuang in North China, Panjin in Northeast China, Luoyang in Central China, and Qingdao in East China were selected as the research sites. A total of 87 families were recruited to study residences in real-life scenarios. At the same time, dust samples were collected to detect the concentration of PBDEs. The level of household environmental indicators was measured, and the residential building characteristics and family behavior habits were collected through questionnaires. A total of 142 valid dust samples and 140 valid questionnaires were obtained. The differences in PBDE concentrations across seasons, wind zones, residential building characteristics, and family habits were analyzed. The exploratory factor analysis was performed to investigate the possible sources of PBDEs, and multivariate linear regression was used to explore the factors influencing PBDEs in household dust. Results: The M ( Q ) of total PBDE concentrations in 142 household dust samples in five cities was 144.51 (106.61, 222.65) ng/g in the warm season and 145.10 (98.57, 180.65) ng/g in the cold season, respectively. There were seasonal differences in the concentration of ∑ 1, Q 3 ) of total PBDE concentrations in 142 household dust samples in five cities was 144.51 (106.61, 222.65) ng/g in the warm season and 145.10 (98.57, 180.65) ng/g in the cold season, respectively. There were seasonal differences in the concentration of ∑ 12 PBDEs in Luoyang and Shijiazhuang ( P <0.01). The concentration of BDE-71 was highest among PBDE homologues, followed by BDE-66 and BDE-47. Three factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis in the warm season, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 67.90%. The multivariate linear regression showed that the house completion less than ten years [ β (95% CI ): 0.186 (0.013, 0.359)], infrequent home cooking [ β (95% CI ):-0.342 (-0.570, -0.114)], and increased residential PM 10 concentration [ β (95% CI ): 0.001 (0.000, 0.002)] during the warm season, as well as the house far from driveway [ β (95% CI ): 0.093 (0.013, 0.172)], house area less than 90 m 2 [ β (95% CI ):-0.138 (-0.264, -0.013)], and lower residential xylene concentration [ β (95% CI ):-0.006 (-0.011, -0.001)] during the cold season might be related to the elevated concentrations of ∑ 12 PBDEs in household dust. Conclusion: The pollution of PBDEs in household dust in five northern cities is at a medium to high level. Years of house completion, frequency of cooking at home, residential PM 10 concentration, distance from house to driveway, house area, and residential xylene concentration may influence household PBDE concentrations.

Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) are emerging pollutants posing potential threats to ecosystems and human health. Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) belongs to perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl compounds (PFASs), and is a persistent organic pollutant that has been banned worldwide. As a substitute for PFOS, sodium p-perfluorinated noneoxybenzenesulfonate (OBS) has been widely produced and used in China, and has been detected in various environment media and human body. This article conducts a review of existing research on PFOS and OBS, summarizing their environmental behavior, population exposure, and toxic effects. It is recommended that although the bioaccumulation of OBS is weaker than that of PFOS, the biological toxicity of OBS still deserves attention. Abstract: Objective To discuss the effects of polybrominated diphenyl ethers （PBDEs） exposure in e-waste dismantling region on the human body and provide data support for the identification of environmental health damage to residents in the e-waste dismantling region. Methods Adults in an e-waste dismantling region （exposed group, 54 participants） and a control region （control group, 58 participants） were selected, questionnaires were carried out and blood and urine samples were collected. Blood PBDEs, blood lipids, blood routine, blood lead, urine cadmium, urine chromium and urine nickel were detected. T-test was utilized to compare the differences of PBDEs between the two groups. Multivariate analysis were utilized to compare the differences between the two groups in blood routine indexes. Linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between PBDEs and blood routine. Results Exposure levels of PBDEs were significantly higher in the exposed group （240.00 ng/g, adjusted mass fraction of blood lipids, thereafter） than in the control group （93.00 ng/g, P <0.05）. There was no statistical significance in the differences in most blood routine indexes of the two groups （ P >0.05）, and their reference values were all within normal ranges. Mean platelet volume, plateletcrit, basophils percentage, absolute value of basophils, and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration were higher in the exposed group than in the control group （ P <0.05）. Platelet distribution widths were lower in the exposed group than in the control group and below the normal reference range （ P <0.05）. [Objective] Bisphenol compounds of different origins have been found in many terrestrial ecosystems in across China. Their accurate detection is a key to mitigating their impact on the environment. In this paper, we present an improved method to reliably detect BPs in water and sediment in irrigation districts. [Method] A high-performance liquid chromatography-fluorescence (HPLC-FLD) method was established for simultaneously measuring three types of bisphenol compounds. Suitable pre-treatment method for detecting these compounds was selected from the filtration method and centrifugation method by comparing their efficiency. The tested method was then used to analyze main bisphenol compounds in water and sediment samples taken from vegetable and paddy fields. [Result] The HPLC-FLD can detect BPS when its concentration is not lower than 0.2 µg/L, while for BPF and BPA, the method can detect them when their concentrations are as low as 0.2 µg/L. The centrifugation method can recover 76.69% to 99.03% of the water from the samples, and the detection rate for BPF in ditch water and sediment is 100% and 88.89%, respectively. The greatest BPs concentration the method can detect is 1.45 µg/L for water samples and 587.4 µg/kg for sediment samples. The contents of BPF, BPA and BPS in the sediment samples are 962.95 times, 871.82 times and 72.81 times those in the water samples, respectively. [Conclusion] The centrifugation method works better for pretreating the samples. BPF is the main BPs detected in water and sediment samples taken from the vegetable and paddy fields. Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), as a kind of typical persistent organic pollutants, are widely distributed in environmental media and cause varying degrees of harm to ecosystems and human health. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to understand the distribution law of PFCs in the environment of a specific area, and formulate standard limits suitable for China. The Yangtze River Basin is an important part of China's Yangtze River Economic Belt. It is a key area of Chinese economic and social development. To protect the ecological environment of the Yangtze River Basin is considerable critical for the green development of the Yangtze River Basin. This paper focuses on the existence condition of PFCs in the Yangtze River Basin, and summarizes their distribution and change rule in the upper, middle and lower water environment and sediments. In this paper, the pollution status of PFCs in the Yangtze River Basin and the progress of environmental benchmark research were analyzed, then the research demands of the formulation of environmental benchmarks for PFCs in Chana were clarified. Finally, this article puts forward suggestions for the future systematic research of Chinese PFCs environmental benchmarks and provides decision-making basis and reference for the potential ecological risk assessment and control of PFCs. The paper, through questionnaire survey and with six dimensions of capital, production, power, social strata, life and society as a point of tangency, studies the changes of social environment resulting from tourism development in Zhouzhuang ancient town. The results indicate that 1. the productive efficiency of tourism space depends on the development model and practical guidance should pay more attention to social efficacy; 2. tourism space production arouses the concern over existentialism and space adjustment should present humane care; 3. the key to optimizing tourism space lies in improving space quality and inclusive development should become future appeal. The study offers inclusive development orientation with upgrading space quality as the core; 1. strengthening socio-economic guarantee for local residents during tourism space production; 2. enhancing social cohesive capability; 3. promoting social inclusive capacity; 4. optimizing levels of residents' capacity for public rights. As tourists' gazes and practice of space producers enable original material attributes to tend to social attributes, space narration should become new approach for tourism space research. The application of the theory of space production in tourism study will bring about the changes in tourism study paradigm, enrich existing study theory, expand traditional study perspective and provide reference for the sustainable development of Zhouzhuang ancient town under the background of social transition. Taking Liangshui River, the reclaimed water-receiving river in Beijing, as the research area, the types, detection frequencies, and concentrations of 16 antibiotics in water and sediment were analyzed, and their temporal-spatial variation and occurrence characteristics were discussed. The results showed that nine and 13 target antibiotics were detected in the water and sediment of Liangshui River, with the antibiotic concentration ranges of ND-116.68 ng·L -1 and ND-235.42 ng·g -1 , respectively. The main antibiotics in water were ofloxacin and clarithromycin, and the main antibiotic in sediment was ofloxacin. The total concentration of antibiotics in water and sediment showed a gradual decrease from the upstream to the downstream in the Liangshui River mainstream, and the concentration of antibiotics in tributaries was higher than that in the mainstream. The inflow of tributaries had an obvious impact on the antibiotic concentration in water for the Liangshui River but had little impact on its sediment. The total concentration of antibiotics in water and sediment during the dry season was generally higher than that during the wet season. The detected antibiotics with the highest concentration were quinolones in water during the wet season and macrolides in the dry season. Quinolones had the highest concentration in sediment in both seasons. The ecological risk assessment results showed that clarithromycin had a low risk in water in the dry season and sediment in both seasons, whereas the other antibiotics had no risk. The combined ecological risk and the most sensitive trophic level ecological risk assessment showed that all sampling sites had low risk or no risk, and the risk of the dry season was generally greater than that of the wet season. The risk values of some sampling points were close to the medium risk threshold during the dry season, which requires further attention.

Microbial communities play an important role in water quality regulation and biogeochemical cycles in lakes, and their community structure and function are affected by environmental factors. Therein, antibiotics affect the abundance, diversity, composition, and function of microbial communities. In this study, Baiyangdian Lake was selected as the study area. Sediment samples of 16 sites were collected in August 2018 and April 2019, respectively. Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry （HPLC-MS/MS） was used to determine the content of typical antibiotics-quinolones （QNs） in sediment. Through high-throughput sequencing technology, the structure and function of microbial communities was analyzed in the sediments to explore the spatiotemporal variation. Thereinto, redundancy analysis （RDA） was used to identify the key influencing factors of spatiotemporal variation of microbial communities. The results showed that： ① From August to April, the average ω （QNs） showed an increasing trend, and its mean value changed from 3.91 ng·g -1 to 6.34 ng·g -1 , with significant seasonal differences in oxolinic acid （OXO） and total QNs content （ P &lt; 0.05）. ② In terms of temporal variation, the dominant bacteria were Proteobacteria and Chloroflexi. The relative abundance of Proteobacteria showed a decreasing trend, whereas Chloroflexi showed an increasing trend； at the genus level, the dominant bacteria genera in August were norank&#95; f&#95;&#95;Anaerolineaceae and Thiobacilus , and the dominant bacteria genera in April were Acinetobacter and norank&#95; f&#95;Anaerolineaceae, and the dominant bacteria genera had significant seasonal differences （ P &lt; 0.05）. ③ In terms of temporal variation, the index of Simpson, Chao, Ace, and OTU number all showed an increasing trend, and the seasonal differences were significant （ P &lt; 0.05）. ④ In terms of spatial variation, there were no significant spatial differences among functional genes of COG. In terms of temporal variation, there were significant seasonal differences in functional genes of energy production and conversion, carbohydrate transport and metabolism, transcription, cell wall/membrane/envelope biogenesis, and signal transduction mechanisms （ P &lt; 0.01 and P &lt; 0.05）. ⑤ Microbial community structure and functional genes were significantly correlated with QNs （ P &lt; 0.01 and P &lt; 0.05）, and QNs were the main influencing factors. Therefore, QNs were the main factor affecting the changes in microbial community structure and functional genes in sediments of Baiyangdian Lake. Thus, comprehensive control of antibiotic pollution in sediments should be further strengthened.

Objective: To investigate the content of rare earth elements(REs)in blood and hair of residents in a RE mining area in Northwest Hubei, and evaluate the impact of REs on the health status of local residents., Methods: A total of 191 residents from the core area of RE mining areas and 186 residents from non RE mining areas, aged 20-69, were selected. The content of REs in the blood and hair of the survey subjects was measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and compared with existing literature values. At the same time, blood tests and questionnaire surveys will be conducted on the health status of residents to examine whether human RE enrichment can lead to endemic diseases., Results: The average total content of REs in the blood of residents in the mining area was 60.22 ng/mL, which was 3.35 times that of the control area; The average total content of REs in hair was 1197.91 ng/g, which was 6.32 times higher than the control area. As age increasing, the abundance of REs in the blood and hair of both men and women in mining areas increased. The proportion of Yttrium and Scandium in the blood and hair were much higher than that in the soil. Compared to hair, Yttrium and Scandium were more easily enriched in the blood. There was no significant difference in the probability of fatty liver, hepatitis B, hypoglycemia, hypotension, hypertension and heart disease and the average life span between residents in RE mining areas and those in the control area., Conclusion: The high daily average dietary intake of REs in residents leads to a relatively large accumulation of REs in human blood and hair, but no significant and substantial human health damage has been found at present.

To understand the contamination characteristics and ecological risk of antibiotics in contaminated fields of pharmaceutical plants， samples of the surface soil， soil column， wastewater treatment process water， ground water， and residue dregs were collected from two typical antibiotic pharmaceutical plants in South and North China. A total of 87 commonly used antibiotics were quantified using ultrasound extraction-solid phase extraction and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results showed that a total of 31 antibiotics of five classes were detected in all types of samples， and the maximum concentrations at each sampling point in the surface soil， soil column， residue dregs， wastewater treatment process water， and groundwater were 420 ng·g -1 ， 595 ng·g -1 ， 139 ng·g -1 ， 1 151 ng·L -1 ， and 6.65 ng·L -1 ， respectively. Most of the antibiotics were found in the surface soil， showing a decreasing trend with the depth of the soil column. The ecological risk assessment indicated that sulfamethazine， sulfaquinoxaline， tetracycline， chlorotetracycline， and D-sorbitol were at higher risk. Improving the efficiency of antibiotic removal from pharmaceutical wastewater and preventing production shop leaks are effective measures of controlling antibiotic contamination into and around fields in pharmaceutical plants.

Short- and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs and MCCPs) have attracted significant attention because of their persistence, biotoxicity, bioaccumulation, and long-range migration. Given their worldwide detection in a variety of environmental matrices, concerns related to the high exposure risks of SCCPs and MCCPs to humans have grown. Thus, knowledge of the contamination patterns of SCCPs and MCCPs and their distribution characteristics in the vivo exposure of humans is of great importance. However, little information is available on the contamination of SCCPs and MCCPs in human blood/plasma/serum, mainly because of the difficulty of sample preparation and quantitative analysis. In this study, a new blood sample pretreatment method based on Percoll discontinuous density gradient centrifugation was developed to separate plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets from human whole blood. A series of Percoll sodium chloride buffer solutions with mass concentrations of 1.095, 1.077, and 1.060 g/mL were placed in a centrifuge tube from top to bottom to establish discontinuous density gradients. The dosage for each density gradient was 1.5 mL. Human whole blood samples mixed with 0.85% sodium chloride aqueous solution were then added to the top layer of the Percoll sodium chloride solution. After centrifugation, the whole blood was separated into four components. The plasma was located at the top layer of the centrifuge tube, whereas the platelets, white blood cells, and red blood cells were retained at the junction of the various Percoll sodium chloride solutions. The sampling volume of human whole blood and incubation time were optimized, and results indicated that an excessively long incubation time could lead to hemolysis, resulting in a decrease in the recoveries of SCCPs and MCCPs. Therefore, a sampling volume of 1.5 mL and incubation time of 10 min at 4 ℃ were adopted. The cells of the blood components were further broken and extracted by ultrasonic pretreatment, followed by multilayer silica gel column chromatography for lipid removal. The use of 80 mL of n -hexane-dichloromethane (1∶1, v/v) and 50 mL of dichloromethane as the elution solvents (collected together) for the gel column separated the SCCPs and MCCPs from the lipid molecules in the blood samples. Gas chromatography-electron capture negative ion-low resolution mass spectrometry (GC-ECNI-LRMS) was used to determine the SCCPs and MCCPs. Quantification using the corrected total response factor with degrees of chlorination was achieved with linear corrections ( R =0.912 and 0.929 for the SCCPs and MCCPs, respectively). The method detection limits (MDLs) for the SCCPs and MCCPs were 1.57 and 8.29 ng/g wet weight (ww, 2 =7), respectively. The extraction internal standard recoveries were 67.0%-126.6% for the SCCPs and 69.5%-120.5% for the MCCPs. The developed method was applied to determine SCCPs and MCCPs in actual human whole blood samples. The contents of SCCPs and MCCPs were 10.81-65.23 and 31.82-105.65 ng/g (ww), respectively. Red blood cells exhibited the highest contents of CPs, followed by plasma, white blood cells, and platelets. The proportions of SCCPs and MCCPs in red blood cells and plasma were 70% and 66%, respectively. In all four components, the MCCP contents were higher than the SCCP contents, and the ratios of MCCPs to SCCPs ranged from 1.04 to 3.78. Similar congener patterns of SCCPs and MCCPs were found in the four components of human whole blood. C n =7), respectively. This method can meet requirements for the quantitative analysis of SCCPs and MCCPs in human blood components, thereby providing technical support for human health risk assessment.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs, n =22), including emerging alternatives, in dust samples were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) to study their pollution characteristics. These samples were collected from main and minor roads in Shijiazhuang. Some of the roads were located near sewage treatment plants and fire stations. The results showed that PFASs were ubiquitous in the road dust of Shijiazhuang; in particular, hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid (HFPO-DA), an alternative, was measured for the first time in China. The total concentrations of PFASs ranged from 2.62 to 137.65 ng·g -1 . Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) was the dominant PFAS, followed by perfluorobutanoic acid (PFBA), HFPO-DA, and perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS). The highest and lowest levels of PFASs were observed in the northwest and southeast regions of Shijiazhuang, respectively. The compositions of PFASs were obviously different in road dust near sewage treatment plants and fire stations, especially for the types of emerging alternatives. Health risk assessment indicated that road dust intake had a low risk of human exposure to PFASs and emerging alternatives. Among the three routes (ingestion intake, inhalation intake, and dermal contact), ingestion intake was the main route for PFASs and emerging alternatives in road dust to enter the human body. Under the same exposure route, the exposure dose of children was higher than that of adults.

Karst wetland plays an important role in the ecological environment; however, due to the existence of karst pipeline, pollutants can threaten the underground environment through the highly developed karst pipeline. Therefore, understanding the pollution characteristics of the karst surface environment is the premise of pollution ecological risk assessment and prevention. In this study, 24 organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) were analyzed to study the concentration, composition, source, and risk of OCPs in water and surface sediments in the Huixian Wetland of Guilin. The results showed that:the concentration of OCPs in water ranged from 3.17 ng·L -1 to 92.50 ng·L -1 , and the concentration of OCPs in sediment ranged from 1.16 ng·g -1 to 219.52 ng·g -1 , showing the main pollution characteristics of HCHs and DDTs. The concentration of OCPs in water was higher in the wet season than that in the dry season. The concentration of OCPs in sediments was higher in the dry season than that in the wet season. The isomer ratios revealed that OCPs in the study area were mainly derived from long-term degradation residues, and some sites had new input of lindane. Based on Monte Carlo simulation, the human health risk assessment of the study area showed that the 95% quantile carcinogenic risk of OCPs in water was greater than 1×10 -6 , with potential but acceptable health risk. The non-carcinogenic risk was lower than 1, which indicated that the level of OCPs residues in the water in the study area was not enough to cause non-carcinogenic risk to the human body.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are of concern globally because of their carcinogenic, teratogenic, mutagenic, and bio-accumulative effects. Northern China is one of the regions in China with a high density of lakes; however, the lake aquatic environment is becoming seriously deteriorated, especially from PAH pollution due to the intensification of human activities during the past 100 years. Therefore, the spatial distribution and historical changes in PAHs in lake sediments from northern China were analyzed to indicate their response to anthropogenic emissions and pollution reduction actions. The ω (PAHs) in lake sediments ranged from 18.2 to 1205.0 ng·g -1 , and low molecular weight PAHs were the dominant compounds. PAH concentrations increased from the 1950s to a peak level in the 2000s, which was induced mainly by increased energy consumption and rapid economy development, with PAH levels decreasing subsequently in the last 10 years due to craft improvement of wastewater treatment plants and the promotion of new energy policies. Spatially, PAHs pollution in Northeast and North China was more serious than that in Northwest China due to the higher level of economic development and energy consumption. Source apportionment results revealed that historical PAH emissions transferred from biomass combustion to a mixture of coal and petroleum combustion. In addition, the results of ecological risk assessment showed that the synthetic sediment quality index (SeQI) of northern China ranged from 36 to 75, and North and Northeast China posed higher ecological risk than that in Northwest China, with phenanthrene (Phe), acenaphthylene (Ace), acenaphthylene (Acy), and dibenzo(a,h)anthracene (DahA) as the main risk contributors.

In this study, 50 surface water and sediment samples were collected from 25 sampling points in Qingpu District (including Taipu River basin, Jinze Reservoir, and Qingxi country park) in the Yangtze River Delta integration demonstration area, and 22 pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in the samples were analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS-MS). The distribution characteristics, sources, and influencing factors of targeted PPCPs in the study area were studied in detail. The ecological and health risks of the target PPCPs were evaluated using the quotients method. The results showed that a total of 19 PPCPs were detected in the surface water and sediment samples from 25 sampling points in Qingpu District, with total concentrations ranging from 0.06 to 178.67 ng·L -1 and 0.07 to 37.68 ng·g -1 , respectively. The average value of sulfachloropyridazine (SCP) in the surface water was the highest with a concentration of 129.54 ng·L -1 , whereas the average value of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in the sediment was the highest with a concentration of 70.62 ng·g -1 . The spatial distribution of the total amount of PPCPs showed a trend of Qingxi country park > Jinze Reservoir > Taipu River basin. Principal component analysis showed that the main sources of pollution were animal antibiotics used in aquaculture and the discharge of domestic sewage. There was a significant correlation between lg K oc and lg K d ( P <0.05), indicating that the organic carbon plays an important role in the distribution of the target PPCPs in water and sediments. The ecological risk assessment results revealed that the fungicides (TCC and TCS) in the surface waters showed a moderate risk to aquatic organisms of different trophic levels. The Qingxi country park and Jinze Reservoir were the regions with the highest ecological risks of PPCPs in surface water and sediment. The health risk entropy (HQ) of people of all age groups exposed through drinking was less than 1; however, with the continuous emission and accumulation of PPCPs, the pollution control of PPCPs in the environment still requires further attention.

The residual content of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in soil and crops of typical agricultural land in the southern Leizhou peninsula were determined using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Additionally, the bioconcentration factors of organochlorine pesticides in eight crops were investigated, and the human health risk was evaluated. The results indicated that 10 types of OCPs were detected to varying degrees; HCHs and heptachlor were the main OCPs in the study area, with the residual contents of 23.83-111.51 ng·g -1 and 11.01-25.97 ng·g -1 in soil and 7.54-61.28 ng·g -1 and 3.96-30.97 ng·g -1 in crops, respectively. A small number of soil and crop samples were found to exceed the standard. The ratio of α -HCH/ γ -HCH was less than 1 in 87.50% of the soil samples, and β -HCH/ α -HCH was larger than 1. This indicates that the HCHs were probably derived from the recent use of lindane and historical residual pollution, whereas the heptachlor was mainly derived from underground insect pests and the application of termite control agents. The enrichment ability of OCPs was significantly different among different crops. The bioaccumulation capacity of vegetables was higher than that of fruit. Furthermore, bulb vegetables (leeks) were significantly stronger than other vegetables. A human health risk assessment of OCPs showed that OCP-combined pollution would not cause significant health risks to the population in the study area. However, the maximum value of HI in some crop samples was greater than 1, indicating that there were still potential risks, which should not be ignored.

The river water-groundwater interaction zone is an important area for the enrichment, degradation, and transformation of pollutants and other biogeochemical processes. The distribution characteristics of antibiotics, as organic pollutants of wide concern, in the interaction zone is essential for understanding the migration and transformation process of pollutants in the environment. Due to the sensitive changes in the redox conditions and special composition of sediments in the interaction zone, this study established an effective pretreatment method for extracting 22 antibiotics and four sulfonamide metabolites in the interaction zone, and optimized the initial state of the samples, extraction temperature, pH value of the extraction solution and organic extraction solvent. The content of antibiotics in the sediments of the river water-groundwater interaction zone and lower reaches of the Hanjiang River was also analyzed. The results show that the best recovery of the target compounds is obtained by using pH 3 acetonitrile/Na 2 EDTA-Mcllvaine buffer(1:1, volume ratio) to digest and extract the unoxidized sediment samples at 40℃ three times using a microwave. A total of 11 antibiotics are detected in the sediments of the interaction zone in the lower reaches of the Hanjiang River, among which oxytetracycline and ofloxacin are the main compounds with the highest concentrations of 6.77 ng·g -1 and 5.81 ng·g -1 , respectively. The vertical distribution of antibiotics in different sediment profiles is significantly different, which may be related to the lithology of sediments, physicochemical properties of antibiotics, and interaction between surface water and groundwater.

Rapid urbanization and industrialization may potentially impact the spatial distribution and transmission of polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). Tianjin, a typical industrialized city with a high urbanization level around Bohai Bay, was selected to evaluate the spatial distribution and ecological risks of PFASs. Water and soil samples were systematically collected and analyzed by using solid-phase extraction and high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS-MS) methods. The results showed that all 12 PFASs were detected in water and soils, and the detection rates of the other congeners were low. The concentrations of ΣPFASs in water ranged from 3.93 to 357.85 ng ·L -1 , and the levels of ΣPFASs in soils ranged from 4.60 to 63.85 ng ·g -1 . PFBA was the major component in water and soils, and the contribution of PFBA was 37% and 67% in water and soils, respectively. The spatial difference in ΣPFASs in the water bodies was significant. ΣPFAS concentrations in the surface water were higher in the north (mean value of 63.83 ng ·L -1 ) than in the south (mean value of 51.71 ng ·L -1 ) and higher in the eastern coastal area (mean value of 71.36 ng ·L -1 ) than in the western area (mean value of 36.08 ng ·L -1 ). ΣPFAS concentrations from upstream to downstream of the rivers showed an increasing trend. The highest PFAS concentration was found in the Chaobai River, and the lowest was detected in the South Canal. The spatial distribution of PFASs in soils was higher in the south (mean value of 13.33 ng ·g -1 ) than in the north (mean value of 6.38 ng ·g -1 ) and higher in the eastern coastal region (mean value of 11.45 ng ·g -1 ) than in the western region (mean value of 6.94 ng ·g -1 ). The soil concentrations of ΣPFASs in the Haihe River Basin were the highest. The source analysis results showed that the emulsification of rubber products, food packaging process, paper surface treatment, fire extinguishing agent use, and electrochemical fluorination process in industrial production were the main sources of PFASs in the soils in the study area. PFOS/PFOA, PFOA/PFNA, and PFHpA/PFOA analyses showed that the main source of PFASs in water bodies was the degradation of precursors. ΣPFASs in a few areas originated from the direct emissions from production, but the atmospheric deposition was small. The results of the ecological risk evaluation indicated that the exposure concentrations of PFASs in water and soils in the study area were at a low ecological risk level. However, the long-term ecological effects of PFASs cannot be ignored because of their long-distance transport capability and high food chain (web) accumulation capability.

In this study, soil samples were collected from the eastern edge of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau in December 2019. The level and distribution characteristics of organophosphate esters (OPEs) in seasonal frozen soil were analyzed, and their sources were discussed. The results showed that the target analytes including tri-n-butyl phosphate (TnBP), tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (TEHP), tributoxyethyl phosphate (TBEP), triphenyl phosphate (TPhP), tri(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP), trichloropropyl phosphate (TCPP), and tris-(2,3-dichloropropyl) phosphate (TDCPP) were detected with 100% frequency. Levels of Σ 7 OPEs in topsoil (0-10 cm) and sub topsoil (10-20 cm) were 146.7-348.7 ng·g -1 (mean:231.1 ng·g -1 ) and 206.5-333.2 ng·g -1 (mean:260.2 ng·g -1 ), respectively. The Σ 7 OPEs content level is comparable to that of urban soil,which is worthy of attention. TBEP and TDCPP were the most abundant compounds in the plateau soil. Point source emissions have significant influence on the spatial distribution of OPEs, and regional deposition of OPEs contributes to all sampling sites. The migration ability of different OPE compounds in soil was different. Stronger migration ability was observed for aromatic OPEs (TPhP) than chlorinated OPEs. Principal component analysis showed that the main sources of OPEs in plateau soil were atmospheric wet and dry deposition, manufactured consumer materials, and the release of OPEs from automobile interior decoration.
