Consumptive thirst is widely discussed in Huangdi Neijing and it is classified as a " strange disease" in Suwen Strange Diseases Treatise, which reflects the intractable nature of consumptive thirst. This paper explores and analyzes consumptive thirst based on the core concept in Huangdi Neijing. First, this paper approaches the subject through the use of image thinking method from Huangdi Neijing, recognizing that consumptive thirst can lead to changes in the internal climate of the human body. Then, guided by the theories of essence and qi, yin and yang, and the five elements in Huangdi Neijing, it deconstructs and analyzes the causes of these changes and the laws of qi transformation. It points out that the changing climate of consumptive thirst is characterized by "heat symptoms". The main cause of "heat symptoms" is spleen deficiency and excessive dampness, and its qi transformation law is the heat transformation of Shaoyin. The intractable nature of consumptive thirst is mainly reflected in the uncontrolled "heat symptoms" caused by the imbalance of the five elements. Based on the understanding of the heat symptoms of consumptive thirst, this paper proposes a treatment strategy for preventing the disease by resolving dampness and regulating the spleen, harmonizing kidney qi to prevent progression, and balancing yin and yang to treat chronic and recalcitrant conditions. Atherosclerosis （AS）, a multifactorial and chronic inflammatory disease, is considered a lifethreatening condition worldwide. As the predominant immunocytes in AS lesions, macrophages are of exceptional interest in exploring the pathogenesis of this disease. The proliferation, aggregation, aging and death of macrophages significantly contribute to the occurrence and development of AS. Iron is an essential microelement that plays a pivotal role in regulating diverse functions of macrophages under physiological conditions. However, abnormal iron metabolism can disrupt iron homeostasis in macrophages, leading to iron overload in macrophages, significantly contributing to the promotion of AS. From the perspective of macrophage iron overload and and its role in AS, this paper provides an extensive exposition on the phenomenon of macrophage iron overload and its underlying pathophysiological mechanism in promoting AS, providing novel insights for the prevention and treatment of AS. Objective To explore the minimum clinically important difference (MCID) of peptic ulcer scale QLICD - PU (V2. 0) among the System of quality of life instruments for chronic diseases. Methods Using convenience samplings the questionnaire was administered from March 2013 to August 2014 using the QLICD - PU (V2. 0) scale, and the MCIDs were calculatedusing the anchor - based and distribution - based methods, respectively, and analyzed to compare the MCIDs developed by taking the mean, taking the minimum, and taking the maximum methods. Results The MCIDs of physical functioning (8.53), psychological functioning (8.45), social functioning (7.61), general module (7. 05), specific module (8. 82), and overall scale (7. 53) obtained by taking the mean method; the MCIDs obtained by taking the minimum method were 5. 25, 5. 78, 6. 16, 4. 19, 7. 18 and 4. 09, respectively; the MCID obtained by taking the maximum method were 11. 99, 12.05, 10.09, 9.48, 10. 99 and 11.04, respectively. Conclusion In this paper, MCID was formulated by using various methods and criteria, which can be chosen by the users according to the situation. MCID can be used to assess the clinical efficacy of patients with peptic ulcers for the application of quality of life. In recent years, the role of dietary factors in chronic diseases has received extensive attention. As a tool to evaluate dietary quality, dietary assessment index has become an important index to evaluate the nutritional status of the population, it can also be used to explore the relationship between diet and chronic diseases. The Chinese Diet Balance Index (DBI) can be used to evaluate the dietary quality of groups and individuals by taking Chinese dietary guidelines and Food Guide Pagoda as reference and combining the dietary characteristics of Chinese residents, it can also be used to study the association with chronic diseases. Alveolar macrophage（ AMs）, as a sentinel cell in the respiratory tree, is also a dominant immune cell in the stable state, playing an important role in the balance between defense against pathogens and tolerance to harmless stimuli. Different characteristics of alveolar macrophages affect the prognosis of lung infections, chronic inflammatory diseases, and lung cancer. Therefore, this paper mainly reviewes the correlation between alveolar macrophages and different chronic lung diseases by reviewing domestic and foreign literature, in order to provide more theoretical basis for the clinical prevention and treatment of chronic lung diseases. The metaverse has broken into the limelight with the convergence of emerging technologies such as virtual reality, digital twins, the Internet of Things, and blockchain. The current healthcare system, for example, for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD), obstructive sleep apneahypopnea syndrome(OSAHS), pulmonary nodules, coronary heart disease, and the management of chronic diseases still faces problems such as uneven distribution of medical resources, difficulties in followup, and overburdened specialists. While metaverse in medicine platforms that are industrial level and incorporate advanced artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, and other digital technologies may gradually solve these problems. With the development of these new computer and information technologies, the metaverse + medical scenario is promising to reshape the next generation of digital health care based on the excellent paving effect of digital health care to carry on. In this paper, we will review and discuss how these technologies are converging to form meta-universe medicine and the prospects of its practical application in digital health care. Drug use evaluation (DUE) is a method to evaluate and analyze the use of drugs according to the preset evaluation criteria, which takes the construction of evaluation criteria as the core. The DUE currently carried out abroad is more mature, yet relatively few are carried out in China, and the construction of evaluation criteria is still immature. Therefore, this paper provides reference for DUE research in China by elaborating on the concept, connotation, overseas development and the current status of domestic research on DUE, as well as providing new ideas for clinical pharmacists to carry out drug evaluation. Frailty is a prevalent condition among elderly patients with chronic diseases, which seriously affects the life quality of patients and increases the vulnerability to adverse health outcomes. The exercise interventions are effective to prevent the onset of frailty and reverse frailty. This paper reviewed the studies of exercise interventions on frailty of elderly patients with chronic diseases, and provided reference for clinical intervention and practice of elderly patients with chronic diseases combined with frailty. Background Epilepsy is a chronic neurological condition characterized by paroxysm of seizures due to abnormal electrical discharge from central nervous system neurons. Several new antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) were listed over the past two decades, and they were believed to be equally effective and have better tolerability and side effect profiles. This paper aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjunctive topiramate in refractory partial seizures. Methods Relevant research articles about randomized controlled trials of adjunctive topiramate in refractory partial seizures, with topiramate, Topamax, add - on treatment, adjunctive treatment, add - on therapy, adjunctive therapy, refractory partial seizure, refractory partial epilepsy both in Chinese and English as retrieval words, were retrieved from PubMed (1995-2014), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL, 1995-2014), The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR, 1995-2014), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI, 1995-2014) and Wanfang Data (1999-2014). Two reviewers independently evaluated the quality of the included articles and abstracted the data. A Meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.0 software. Results According to the enrollment criteria, 13 prospective, randomized controlled clinical trials with a total of 1622 patients were finally selected. The proportions of patients with reduction in seizure frequency ⩾ 50% (OR = 3.710, 95% CI: 2.870-4.810; P = 0.000), ⩾ 75% (OR = 7.220, 95% CI: 3.310-15.750; P = 0.000) and seizure free (OR = 3.380, 95%CI: 1.720-6.640; P = 0.000) in topiramate group were significantly higher than that in control group. The treatment withdrawal ratio was significantly higher compared to placebo in 600 mg/d and 800 mg/d subgroups, but not in 200 mg/d subgroup (200 mg/d: OR = 2.170, 95%CI: 0.470-9.950, P = 0.320; 600 mg/d: OR = 2.090, 95%CI: 1.020-4.270, P = 0.040; 800 mg/d: OR = 8.000, 95%CI: 1.390-46.140, P = 0.020). The common side effects included somnolence, anorexia, ataxia, aprosexia, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, thinking abnormality, paraesthesia and weight loss. The occurrence rate of side effects in topiramate group was higher than that in control group. Conclusions Topiramate is effective when added to existing therapy in patients with refractory partial seizures. The withdrawal rate of 200 mg/d topiramate is similar to control group. Compared with the control group, adverse effects are more common but mild or moderate, mainly related with the central nervous system. However, trials included in this study are of relatively short duration, and provide no evidence for the long- term efficacy of topiramate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Pharmacotherapy plays an important role in the management of chronic diseases. However, many patients with chronic disease do not adhere to their medication regimen. This results in worsening symptoms and frequent re-hospitalizations. As a result, healthcare providers may view these patients as bad. Medication adherence is a complex concept. Analyzing this concept may assist nurses to improve patient-centered care. This paper uses Walker & Avant's method to conduct a concept analysis of medication adherence. Results show the defining attributes of medication adherence as: (1) knowing and agreeing to the medication; (2) communicating and negotiating the regimen; and (3) active, continuous involvement in and appraisal of the treatment effect. Identified antecedents of medication adherence included the patient having: (1) a prescribed medication regimen; (2) cognitive and action abilities in her / his role as a patient; and (3) level of preparation for medication treatment. Identified consequences of medication adherence include: (1) improving symptom control; (2) decreasing re-hospitalizations and mortality; (3) reducing medical care costs; (4) restoring self-esteem; and (5) diminishing depression. In China, chronic disease prevalence is increasingly serious with the acceleration of urbanization, changes in lifestyle and the aging of the global population. Service provision for chronic diseases is one of the dilemmas for health service systems, and the chronic disease management model has created a new framework for it. In this paper, we mainly introduced the chronic care model, chronic disease self-management program and innovative care for chronic conditions framework, and compared them in terms of characteristics, application effects, limitations, and found that the core elements included multipronged synergy, continuous services, patient self-management, evidence-based decision making, and information technology support. The above experiences provide new ideas for the management of chronic diseases in our country: to establish a government-led and multi synergistic management system, to improve service continuity by contracting services from family doctors, to borrow wisdom medical treatment and strengthen patient endowment, etc., in the hope of achieving better chronic disease management outcomes.

[Purpose/Significance] When rural residents read health information regarding chronic diseases, they often tend to develop cognitive conflicts or negative emotions, which leads to their avoidance behaviors towards health information regarding chronic diseases. The purpose of this study is to explore the influencing factors among rural residents in Jiangsu Province and the relationships among these factors. [Method/Process] Based on the stress coping theory and the planned risk information avoidance model, this study constructed a model of influencing factors of rural residents' avoidance behaviors towards health information on chronic diseases on the basis of the characteristics of rural residents. In this paper, 250 valid questionnaires were collected, and structural equation model method was used to test the theoretical model. [Results/Conclusions] It is found that social atmosphere, negative emotions and patients' cognition all have positive effects on rural residents' avoidance intention, which leads to the occurrence of health information avoidance behavior. At the same time, the influence of information access constraints on rural residents' avoidance behaviors towards health information on chronic diseases was verified. The research helps to enrich the theoretical system of health information avoidance behavior, and provide guidance and suggestions for government departments and medical service institutions to optimize health information services on how to deal with chronic diseases.

Generally speaking, Chinese residents' nutrient is widely imbalance& Ordinary people have difficulty in understanding and applying most individual diet assessment methods. To solve above problem, a computable and comprehensible method based on diet balance index (DBI) and nutrition curve is present to comprehensively assess individual diet quality. Combining the diet structure scoring method based on DBI and energy scoring method based on nutrition curve, this paper introduces energy weight coefficient to build individual diet assessment model. Experiments show that the accuracy rate using the model for diet assessment is 90%. Combined with early warning model of high-risk groups of chronic diseases, the scores of energy and diet structure index could constitute a close-loop mechanism and provide effective diet intervention method for disease early detection, intervention and recovery. Many technology developments hold the potential to improve the quality of life of people and make life easier and more comfortable. New technologies have been well accepted by most people. Information sharing in particular is a major catalyst of change in our current technology-based society. Technology has widely innovated life and drastically changed lifestyles. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a model developed to address the rapid advances in computer technology, is used to explain and predict user acceptance of new information technology. In the past, businesses have used the TAM as an assessment tool to predict user acceptance when introducing new technology products. They have also used external factors in the model to inluence user perceptions and beliefs and to ensure the successful spread of new technologies. Informatization plays a critical role in healthcare services. Due to the rapid aging of populations and upward trends in the incidence of chronic illness, requirements for long-term care have increased in both quality and quantity. Therefore, there has been an increased emphasis on integrating healthcare and information technology. However, most elderly are signiicantly less adept at technology use than the general population. Therefore, we reexamined the effect that the essential concepts in a TAM exerted on technology acceptance. In the present study, the technology acceptance experience with regard to telehealth of the elderly was used as an example to explain how the revised technology acceptance model (TAM 2) may be effectively applied to enhance the understanding of technology care among nurses.
