Based on environmental characteristics of reinforced concrete infrastructure in western China, cement mortar specimens were subjected to semi-immersed sulfate corrosion in low humidity and varying temperature. The influences of low humidity and varying temperature on semi-immersion sulfate attack cement-based materials were studied by combination of XRD, SEM, LF-NMR, and conductivity titration of sulfate ions. The results show that under low humidity and varying temperature, the mortar subjected to semi-immersion sulfate attack has a water film zone within 30 mm above the surface of sulfate solution, and the corrosion degree is relatively low. The evaporation zone above the solution surface of 30 ~ 60 mm has a higher degree of corrosion and obvious peeling phenomenon. Corrosion of evaporation zone of mortar semi-immersed in Na2SO4 solution is more seriously than that semi-immersed in MgSO4 solution due to their difference in saturation under different temperatures. The expansive salt crystallization within pores above 1 000 nm is prone to the occurrence in evaporation zone, which leads to the micro cracks inside mortar and an increase in the proportion of harmful pores, resulting in physical expansion damage being the main cause of this zone. Chemical corrosion in the immersion zone of mortar is dominant due to the formation of swelling corrosion products such as gypsum and ettringite. As corrosion products accumulated in the pores with pore sizes of 50 ~ 1 000 nm, the surface of mortar cracks and the proportion of macroscopic pores with pore sizes above 1 000 nm increases. The addition of ground granulated blast furnace slag in cement increases the sulfate corrosion resistance of the immersion zone of mortar via its secondary hydration effect, and the addition of limestone powder decreases the sulfate corrosion resistance of mortar due to its dilution effect. The structure of the surfactant was characterized by infrared spectroscopy, and its low-temperature solubility, surface properties, emulsification properties and dispersion properties were measured by turbidity, drop volume, water splitting time and dispersion index methods. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, catalyst dosage and raw material ratio on the content of active substances in the products were investigated by the single-factor experimental method, and the optimum synthesis reaction conditions were determined. The results showed that under the conditions of reaction temperature of 100 °C, reaction time of 3 h, catalyst dosage of 1% of the total mass of the reactants and re(block polyether) : re(sulfamic acid) = 1:1.5, the content of active substances in the products reached 96.49%. Sulfate attack is an important factor affecting the durability of concrete. In order to further improve the sulfate attack resistance of high belite sulfate-aluminate cement (HB-CSA) based concrete, the granulated blast-furnace slag (GBFS) was added into HB-CSA to improve the sulfate attack resistance of HB-CSA. Corrosion resistance coefficient was used to evaluate the effect of slag on the sulfate attack resistance of HB-CSA mortar. Combined with X-ray diffraction analysis, thermogravimetry, mercury injection, scanning electron microscope and other testing methods, the mechanism of sulfate attack resistance was studied from the microscopic level. The results show that slag can improve the sulfate attack resistance of HB-CSA, and its corrosion resistance coefficient increases to 1. 51. In the process of GBFS-HB-CSA resistance to sulfate attack, slag particles play a major role in the filling and refining of the cement pore structure of HB-CSA. SO42- and Ca(OH)2 jointly stimulate the hydration of Al2O3 and SiO2 in the slag to produce gel and ettringite (AFt). The gel and AFt fill in the slurry pores to refine the pore size of the slurry, which makes the slurry structure dense and reduces the ionic permeability, thus improving the ability of HB-CSA to resist sulfate attack. The biochar was prepared by the high temperature calcination, the biochar@ CoFe2O4 was hydrothermal synthesized, was further used to activate the peroxy monosulfate (PMS) to degrade the ciprofloxacin (CIP) in the water, and explored effect of different biochai/CoFe204 mass ratio, PMS concentration, CIP concentration in the degradation efficiency of CIP ・ Based on the above, the degradation mecha・ nism also investigated・ The obtained results presented the mass ratio of biochar/CoFe2O4 was 1: 1 with the PMS concentration of 0・ 25 g/L have excellent degradation efficiency between the 5 ~40 mg/L CIP solution. It could be reused over 5 times with excellent activated property for the PMS and the CIP degradation rate reached to 80. 0% ・ In the process of degradation, sulfate radicals produced by the PMS with activation of biochar@ CoFe2O4 was the main degradation route of CIP. Organic wastewater containing ammonia nitrogen and sulfate was used as influent of UASB reactor (R1) and anaerobic sludge bed reactor (R2). The transformation pathway, transformation correlation and interaction of NH4 +-N and SO4 2- in the two reactors were studied. The results show that, under the condition of influent COD of 100 mg/L, the average NH4 +-N removal of R1 was 15 mg/L and the highest was 20 mg/L, while that of R2 was 10 mg/L and the highest was 15 mg/L during the continuous removal of SO4 2-. It is considered that the sulfate reduction and ammonium oxidation (SRAO) reaction in the reactor cooperates with ammonia oxidation, heterotrophic denitrification, heterotrophic sulfate reduction (SR) and sulfides oxidation to complete simultaneous denitrification and sulfate removal. And the transformation of NH4 +-N and SO4 2- showed a synchronous downward trend under the condition of lack of SO4 2-. When the influent COD was increased to 200 mg/L, the SR activity increased sharply and the denitrification capacity of the system was inhibited. However, the partial inhibition of SR activity by Na2MoO4 from 0.5 mmol/L to 1.5 mmol/L can effectively improve the denitrification capacity of the system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective In view of the hydrogen sulfide problem in the production process of Jimusar shale oil, the cause of hydrogen sulfide was analyzed. Methods The isotopes of sulfur element, sulfate-reducing bacteria species and the reaction conditions of biological cause were analyzed. Results The experiment showed that the tormation reason of hydrogen sulfide in Jimusar shale oil was biological cause, the content of sulfate-reducing bacteria and sulfurate ions in the output fluid were positively correlated with the concentration of hydrogen sulfide at the wellhead. Three kinds of medium-temperature sulfate-reducing bacteria suitable for 30-40 ℃ were identified through 16 Sr RNA technology, and six kinds of high temperature sulfate-reducing bacteria suitable for 60-100 ℃ were also determined. They can grow normally under the conditions of temperatures of 35-100 ℃, mineralization of（0.2-8.0）×10~4 mg/L, and pH value of 4-9, which can meet the conditions of biological cause. Sulfate-reducing bacteria can multiply in large numbers by fracturing fluid and promote the formation of hydrogen sulfide. Conclusions Aiming at the biological cause, a process of replacing chemical sulfur remover with a fungicide was developed, and 8 wells were tested on site, the hydrogen sulfide concentration fell below the safety threshold, the cost of sulfur removal decreased by 40.9% compared with the same period, which provided a basis for effective treatment. Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationship between the structure and antioxidant activity of purified red date polysaccharide ZJP-1 and sulfated red date polysaccharide S-ZJP-1. Methods: Using remnant jujube as raw material, jujube poly-saccharide (ZJP-) was purified by hot water extraction, and then separated by DEAE-52 ion exchange chromatography and Sephadex-200 dextran gel column chromatography. Thereafter, red jujube polysaccharide sulfated derivative ( S-ZJP-1 ) was obtain through chlorosulfonic acid-pyridine sulfated modification. Results: Both ZJP- and S-ZJP-1 are composed of three monosacharides: glucose, arabinose, and galactose, but the ratios are different. The two polysaccharides had characteristic absorption peaks of polysaccharides, and S-ZJP-1 had characteristic absorption peaks of sulfate groups, indicating that the sulfation modification was successful. No triple helical structure was found in ZJP1 or S-ZJP1, while a sheet-like structure was detected. The results of the activity test confirmed that the polysaccharides ZJP-1 and S-ZJP-1 had significant scavenging activity on DPPH free radicals with reducing ability. When the mass concentration of the two kinds of polysaccharide was 0.5 mg/mL, the DPPH free radical scavenging activities were 40. 4% and 47. 6%, and the reducing ability is 0.419 and 0.531, respectively. Separation of zinc and iron is a key factor in zinc hydrometallurgy. The residue produced by hematite process is stable and friendly to environment, so it has great application potential. The existing state and content of Fe and S in hematite precipitation process was studied in the system of ferrous sulfate and zinc sulfate. The results show that under the conditions of reaction temperature 185 ℃, oxygen partial pressure 0.4 MPa, rotation speed 600 r/min and seed dosage 25 g/L, the reaction time 3 h, increasing the reaction temperature from 170 ℃ to 200 ℃may effectively increase the iron content in the residue, reduces the binuclear coordination exchange adsorption between the sulfate radical and the surface of the hematite particles． Meanwhile, the dispersion between the hematite particles is enhanced, and the adsorption of sulfur between the particles is reduced. The S in the liquid after iron removal is in the form of SO42-. The reaction time is prolonged from 1 hto 3 h, the iron removal efficiency increases from 91.23% to 93.63%, and the products are allα-Fe2O3. In addition, Fe2+ is oxidized faster at the initial stage of reaction, so that part of Fe3+ in the solution is in a state of supersaturation, while attached to the spherical seeds at a faster nucleation rate and grow into spindle-shaped small particles. A kind of chitosan-based sulfate imprinted adsorption materials was prepared at laboratory scale by use of chitosan as the functional monomer and sulfate radicals as the imprinted ions, thereby the materials were characterized and then the static adsorption experiment was conducted for investigating the performance of adsorption of sulfate ions in water onto the materials. It was found that the copper ions within the materials were at first combined with both chitosan amino N atoms and para hydroxy O atoms, and the copper ions as a "medium", with which sulfate ions were recombined in the form of ion-pair. After the crosslinking sulfate radicals were removed and a spatial structure which matched sulfate ions formed; crosslinking and imprinting reactions greatly reduced the degree of crystallinity of chitosan and a kind of amorphous structure took shape. The adsorption equilibrium time for the adsorption of sulfate ions was 60 min; and the fitting results with the psedo-second-order dynamic model revealed the adsorption volume amounted to 63.21 mg/g. In conclusion, the printing technology and the spatial structure of matched sulfate ions considerably increased the anti-interference capability of sulfate ions adsorption onto the chitosan-based sulfate imprinted adsorption materials. Mulching to conserve moisture has become an important agronomic practice in saline soil cultivation, and the effects of the dual stress of salinity and microplastics on soil microbes are receiving increasing attention. In order to investigate the effect of polyethylene microplastics on the microbial community of salinized soils, this study investigated the effects of different types (chloride and sulphate) and concentrations (weak, medium, and strong) of polyethylene (PE) microplastics (1% and 4% of the dry weight mass of the soil sample) on the soil microbial community by simulating microplastic contamination in salinized soil environments indoors. The results showed that:PE microplastics reduced the diversity and abundance of microbial communities in salinized soils and were more strongly affected by sulphate saline soil treatments. The relative abundance of each group of bacteria was more strongly changed in the sulphate saline soil treatment than in the chloride saline soil treatment. At the phylum level, the relative abundance of Proteobacteria was positively correlated with the abundance of fugitive PE microplastics, whereas the relative abundances of Bacteroidota, Actinobacteriota, and Acidobacteria were negatively correlated with the abundance of fugitive PE microplastics. At the family level, the relative abundances of Flavobacteriaceae, Alcanivoracaceae, Halomonadaceae, and Sphingomonasceae increased with increasing abundance of PE microplastics. The KEGG metabolic pathway prediction showed that the relative abundance of microbial metabolism and genetic information functions were reduced by the presence of PE microplastics, and the inhibition of metabolic functions was stronger in sulphate saline soils than in chloride saline soils, whereas the inhibition of genetic information functions was weaker than that in chloride saline soils. The secondary metabolic pathways of amino acid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, and energy metabolism were inhibited. It was hypothesized that the reduction in metabolic functions may have been caused by the reduced relative abundance of the above-mentioned secondary metabolic pathways. This study may provide a theoretical basis for the study of the effects of microplastics and salinization on the soil environment under the dual pollution conditions.

In this study, the degradation efficiency and mechanism of carbamazepine (CBZ), a typical emerging contaminant in water, in the UV/sulfite process were investigated. The effects of different concentrations of dissolved oxygen [ ρ (DO)] on the degradation of CBZ by UV-activated sulfite were investigated. Additionally, under a simulated natural water environment-controlled initial ρ (DO) of (8.0 ±0.2) mg·L -1 , the effects of different process parameters (sulfite dosages and reaction pH) and water environmental factors (the presence of HCO 3 - , Cl - , and humic acids) on the degradation of CBZ were comprehensively analyzed. The results showed that the UV/sulfite process efficiently degraded CBZ with a degradation rate of 85.3% during the 30 min reaction time and followed the pseudo-first order kinetic model with the constant of 0.055 7 min -1 . Using the electron spin resonance detection, reactive species quenching tests, and the competition kinetics, the sulfate radicals (SO 4 - ·) and hydroxyl radicals (·OH) in the UV/sulfite process were determined to be the main reactive species and were responsible for the degradation of CBZ with contribution rates of 43.9% and 56.1%, respectively. In addition, the degradation efficiency of CBZ decreased with the increasing concentration of HCO 3 - , and the presence of Cl - had little effect on the degradation of CBZ, whereas the presence of humic acids significantly inhibited the degradation of CBZ. Moreover, the accumulation of sulfate during the reaction was significantly lower than the limit of the Standard for Drinking Water (GB5749-2022). Additionally, the sulfite consumption rate constant was 0.004 4 min -1 , which was significantly lower than the degradation rate constant of CBZ, indicating that sulfite could be activated efficiently by UV light to degrade CBZ in water.

The aim of this study was to explore the effects of different sulfur fertilizers combined with sulfate-reducing bacteria on the accumulation of cadmium and arsenic in rice and the formation of iron plaque under long-term flooding conditions and to provide a reference for the safe production of rice fields polluted by moderate and mild cadmium and arsenic. We adopted a pot experiment, selecting two sulfur fertilizers, sulfur and calcium sulfate, and Enterobacter M5 with sulfate-reducing ability, and designed six treatments of single application and combined application of different sulfur fertilizers and M5. The results showed that the combined application of calcium sulfate and M5(CM5) had the best effect on reducing available cadmium and arsenic in rice rhizosphere soil. The combined application of sulfur fertilizer or M5 could reduce the content of cadmium and inorganic arsenic in early season rice grains by 8%-51% and 42%-61%, respectively, under flooding conditions. The content of cadmium and inorganic arsenic in late rice grains decreased by 81%-92% and 41%-62%, respectively. The treatment of the combined application of sulfur and M5(SM5) and CM5 had the best effect on reducing cadmium and arsenic content in both early and late season rice grains. SM5 and CM5 could promote the adsorption of cadmium and arsenic by iron plaque, and the extracted cadmium and arsenic content of ACA in both treatments was significantly higher than that of CK. The extracted iron content of ACA in the CM5 treatment was also significantly higher than that of CK, which indicates that the combined application of calcium sulfate and M5 would promote the formation of iron plaque. The results showed that the combined application of sulfur fertilizer and M5 was better than single application in reducing the content of cadmium and arsenic in grains, whereas the combined application of calcium sulfate and M5 was the best and most stable method.

Objective: To analyze the salivary metabolic profile of patients with periodontitis through metabolomic techniques and to explore the metabolic patterns associated with periodontal diseases., Methods: Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) technique in conjunction with principal component analysis (PCA) analysis and orthogonal partial least squares identification (OPLS-DA) method was used to study the metabolomics of saliva samples from gingivitis patients, periodontitis patients, and healthy controls, with 10 samples for each group. We examined the correlation between migration in metabolic profile and the progression of periodontal diseases., Results: Saliva metabolite profiles of gingivitis and periodontitis patients was significantly different from those of the healthy controls. Significant differences were identified between the different groups for eight salivary metabolites, including arachidonic acid, tyramine, L-arginine, thymine, N-acetylgalactosamine sulfate, prostaglandin E2, L-phenylalanine, and 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide-riboside (AICAR). In comparison with those of the health controls, the concentration of AICAR in patients with gingivitis and periodontitis was lower and the metabolic trend was down-regulated, while the other metabolites were up-regulated., Conclusion: Salivary metabolic profile changes along with the progression of periodontal diseases. Objective: To analyze the clinical data of acute copper sulphate poisoning, and discuss the timing and prognosis of the treatment. Methods: The clinical data of a case of acute copper sulphate poisoning treated in Yantaishan Hospital in May 2020 were analyzed, and CNKI, Weipu database and Wanfang database were retrieved with "copper sulfate""poisoning" and "blood purification" as search terms respectively. Such as "copper sulphate/cupric sulfate""poisoning" and "blood purification " were respectively tested in the PubMed database and reviewed the literatures. Results: The patient was admitted to hospital due to "oral copper pentahydrate for 14 h". Plasma exchange and continuous venous hemofiltration were performed on the 2nd day of poisoning, and the liver enzymes and creatinine indexes were normal. The patient recovered and left the hospital after 10 days. After literature retrieval, 13 literatures were screened out, a total of 14 cases were reported. All recovered after blood purification, copper displacement and liver protection. Conclusion: When acute copper sulphate poisoning occurs with multiple organ function damage mainly caused by hemolysis and kidney injury, the treatment with blood purification has a good prognosis while removing copper and organ support.

The particulate matter emitted from coal-fired power plants includes condensable particulate matter(CPM) and filterable particulate matter(FPM). By analyzing the concentration of SO 4 2- and NO 3 - components of CPM and FPM in the inlet/outlet of wet flue gas desulfurization(WFGD) and the outlet of wet electrostatic precipitator(WESP) from 7 ultra-low emission coal-fired power plants, the variation laws and transformation characteristics were investigated. The results showed that the concentration of SO 4 2- and NO 3 - of CPM decreased after WFGD, with reduction rates of 43.12%-86.84% and 17.99%-91.58%, respectively, which were different from the conversion trend of FPM. The concentrations of SO 4 2- and NO 3 - of CPM increased after WESP, with reduction rates of 21.05%-424.65% and 13.51%-298.37%, respectively, which were also different from that of FPM. In the WFGD system, CPM could be transformed into FPM due via condensation and aggregation under the decreasing temperature and increasing of humidity of the flue gas. In the WESP system, SO 2 and NO 2 in the flue gas combine with water vapor in a redox reaction, which promotes the generation of SO 4 2- and NO 3 - in CPM through synergistic action.

Viruses in the aquatic environment have strong resistance to common disinfection techniques. To contribute to the development of efficient virus inactivation technologies, the characteristics and mechanisms of virus inactivation in a UV activated sodium persulfate(UV/PS) system were studied. The inactivation rate and kinetic characteristics of bacteriophage MS2 in water samples by the UV/PS were studied. The effects of PS dosage, pH, and the initial concentration of bacteriophages on the inactivation effect were also investigated. Furthermore, the morphologies of phages before and after UV/PS treatment were observed by transmission scanning electron microscope, and the free radicals in the reaction system were identified by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. By means of a free radical quenching experiment, the contribution rate of various factors in the UV/PS system to phage inactivation was also analyzed and calculated. The results showed that when the UV irradiation intensity was 160 μW·cm -2 , the phage MS2 of 4.39 lg could be removed after UV/PS treatment for 4 min, which was 1.44 lg higher than that of the same UV dose alone. The inactivation of phage MS2 by the UV/PS system was in accordance with the first-order kinetic model. Increasing the initial concentration of PS in the system significantly improved the inactivation rate of phages, while pH and the initial concentration of phages had little effect on the inactivation rate. UV/PS treatment damages the capsid of phages and promotes the aggregation of phage particles. The presence of SO 4 - · and·OH in the UV/PS system was an important factor for the inactivation of MS2 phages. Finally, ·OH contributed more to MS2 phage inactivation than SO 4 - ·.
