Osteometry of the foramen magnum was assessed for discriminant function analysis of biological sex estimation and population affinity estimation based on post- mortem computed tomography (PMCT) images in this Malaysian population-based study. This retrospective cross-sectional study was performed using convenient sampling of PMCT skull images originating from 300 Malaysian adults. Linear dimensions of the foramen magnum transverse diameter (FMTD) and anterior-posterior diameter (FMAPD) were measured. Statistical analyses were performed via independent t-test, ANOVA, univariate and multivariate analyses concurrently with discriminant function analyses. There were significant differences in FMTD and FMAPD between males and females within respective population affinities. The foramen magnum dimensions of males were comparably larger than females. There were relatively significant differences in FMTD and generally sufficient significant differences in FMAPD among population affinities. The osteometry of foramen magnum dimensions of Chinese were generally larger than Malays and Indians. This study concluded that the Foramen magnum dimensions have a stronger discriminant function in biological sex estimation with 60% accuracy as compared to population affinity estimation with only 40.7% accuracy. FMTD and FMAPD are the potential sex discriminators among the Malaysian population particularly if other indicators are not available for evaluation.

This study aimed to reveal the structures of intransitive independent clauses in the film “Ḏīb” based on the perspective of Kenneth L. Pike’s tagmemic theory. This was a qualitative descriptive study. This study gathered data from an Arabic film entitled Ḏīb directed by Naji Abu Nowar. The data collection techniques used in this study were watching, translating, and note-taking techniques. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicated that there were four structures of intransitive independent clauses in the film “Ḏīb,” namely: (1) S + P consisted of three parts: The first was S + P. The second was the intransitive independent clause = NP + IVP. The third covered slot containing S + P, class which entailed NP + IVP, role that subsumed S + P, and cohesion without objects. (2) P + S + Adjunct (Adj – NP) comprised three parts. The first was P + S + Adj – NP. The second was the intransitive independent clause = IVP + NP1 + NP2. The third consisted of slot which contained P + S + Adj, class that subsumed IVP + NP1 + NP2, role which entailed P + S + Adj, and cohesion without objects. (3) P + S + Adjunct (Adj – PP) had three parts. The first was P + S + Adj – PP. The second was the intransitive independent clause = IVP + NP + PP. The third involved slot which entailed P + S + Adj, class that subsumed IVP + NP + PP, role comprised of P + S + Adj, and cohesion without objects. (4) S + P + Adjunct (Adj – AP) consisted of three parts. The first was S + P + Adj – AP. The second was the intransitive independent clause = NP + IVP + AP. The third comprised slot containing S + P + Adj, class which subsumed NP + IVP + AP, role consisting of S + P + Adj, and cohesion without objects.

The purpose of this study was to get deeply information of leadership pattern from the headmaster in MIN Karang Baru in making cooperation and collaboration with the school committee. The approach research used qualitative with phenomenology method. The technique of collecting data used interviews and observation. Participants of the study were the headmaster, teacher, and school committee. The technique of data analysis contains three steps, namely reduction of data, data display, and taking conclusion. Meanwhile, the validity of data checking consists of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmation. The results showed that the leadership pattern of the MIN Karang Baru headmaster in collaboration with the school committee was very good because it was able to take advantage of the school committee's function. From the leadership orientation, the Yukl concept consists of four that are relevant to the function of the school committee, namely the orientation of the principal's duties relevant to the agent giving consideration from the school committee. Meanwhile, the school committee as an agent of support is shown in the orientation of relationship and change attitudes. Meanwhile, the school committee as a controlling agent is seen in the utilization of external factors.

نفذ هذا البحث في محطة البحوث العلمية الزراعية في بيت كمونة بطرطوس، بالتعاون مع كلية الزراعة بجامعة تشرين، حيث تضمن اختبار (9) معاملات مكونة من تداخل ثلاث مستويات مضافة من المادة العضوية على شكل زبل بقري متخمر ((O0, O1, O2 وثلاث مستويات من الفحم الحيوي (B0, B1, B2)، بالنسب الوزنية التالية (% 2, 1, 0)، لكل منهما في أحوض ليزومترية زجاجية سعة 14 ليتر، حيث تم إشباع الخلطات الترابية في الأحواض الزجاجية بالماء، وتركت لمدة ((24 ساعة لخروج ماء الجاذبية ولتستقر وتتوازن، وبعد انقضاء هذه المدة أضيفت حجوم متساوية من الماء، ((1 لتر، لكل حوض وجرى قياس حجوم أو كميات الماء الراشح من الأحواض خلال أربع فترات زمنية متزايدة (60, 30, 15, 1) دقيقة، لجميع المعاملات ثم جمعت النتائج على دفعات وفق الفترات الزمنية الأربعة المذكورة. بينت النتائج أن إضافات الفحم الحيوي للتربة بشكل منفرد حقق زيادة طردية في نفاذية التربة للماء في كافة أزمنة القياس. وكان هناك تشابها كبيرا في تأثير الإضافات الافرادية للفحم الحيوي والمادة العضوية في زيادة النفاذية المائية للتربة تحت كافة أزمنة القياس، مع تفوق ملحوظ لمستويات الفحم الحيوي على نفس المستويات من المادة العضوية المضافة في التسبب في زيادة نفاذية التربة. أما تأثير التكامل بين الفحم الحيوي والمادة العضوية فقد ظهر بشكل واضح وايجابي في زيادة نفاذية التربة للماء. وأعطت المعاملة المشتركة (O2B2) المكونة من (2% مادة عضوية + 2% فحم حيوي) أعلى مستوى نفاذية مائية في التجربة بفارق معنوي واضح عن الشاهد وكافة معاملات التجربة.

Perbezaan pemikiran, kefahaman dan interpretasi undang-undang serta kesan daripada perkahwinan di bawah umur membawa kepada perbahasan dalam kalangan masyarakat di Malaysia. Meskipun wujud had umur minimum yang diperuntukkan, namun undang-undang tersebut dilihat tidak relevan untuk diaplikasikan pada masa kini merujuk kepada implikasi perkahwinan di bawah umur yang lebih memberi kemudaratan kepada kanak-kanak terutamanya dari sudut kesihatan dan pendidikan. Jesteru itu, artikel ini akan membincangkan kedudukan perkahwinan kanak-kanak menurut perspektif Syariah dan perundangan di Malaysia. Artikel ini turut membincangkan kedudukan perkahwinan kanak-kanak di bawah Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (SDGs) serta implikasi perkahwinan tersebut kepada diri kanak-kanak dari sudut hak kesihatan dan pendidikan. Metodologi kajian kualitatif iaitu kajian perpustakaan digunakan dengan menganalisis dokumen primer dan sekunder seperti kitab turath, Akta dan Enakmen Negeri-Negeri serta penulisan akademik di dalam jurnal. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa wujudnya peruntukan berkaitan perkahwinan kanak-kanak di bawah umur namun perincian secara jelas dan spesifik mengenai alasan dan faktor yang perlu diambil kira dalam memberikan kebenaran bagi perkahwinan tersebut tidak dinyatakan. Selain itu, artikel ini juga mendapati wujudnya implikasi negatif terhadap hak kesihatan dan hak pendidikan kanak-kanak hasil perkahwinan di bawah umur. Maka, artikel ini mencadangkan supaya pemurnian peruntukan sedia ada dan peningkatan kesedaran masyarakat tentang perkahwinan di bawah umur melalui pendidikan perlu di lakukan demi menjaga kemaslahatan kanak-kanak.

قمنا في هذا البحث بدراسة حالات الليشمانيا الجلدية التي راجعت قسم الأمراض الجلدية في مشفى تشرين الجامعي باللاذقية والمراكز التخصصية لليشمانيا والأمراض الطفيلية في محافظتي اللاذقية وطرطوس من بداية شهر نيسان 2018 حتى نهاية شهر نيسان 2020. حيث ينتشر داء الليشمانيا في ثمانٍ وثمانين دولة من دول العالم ومنها الجمهوريـة العربيـة الـسورية، ويسبب هذا الداء طفيلي وحيد خلية من جنس الليشمانيا، وينتمي لهذا الجنس حوالي اثنين وعشرين نوعاً ممرضاً للإنسان. يعرف لهذا الداء ثلاثة أشكال سريرية هي الليشمانيا الجلدية والليشمانيا الجلدية المخاطية والليشمانيا الحشوية. وقد طﹸورت مجموعة من طرائق التشخيص وتحديد نوع الطفيلي بهدف إعطاء العلاج المناسب وتوجيه طرق الوقاية من الإصابة، تتضمن التحليل الايزوانزيمي والطرائق المصلية المناعية وتقانات تهجين DNA. وتعتبر تقنيـة التفاعـل السلسلي للبوليميراز PCR التي تعتمد إما على DNA الجينومي أو DNA الكينيتوبلاستي من أهم الطرائـق الجزيئية المعتمدة حالياً في تشخيص هذا الداء ومعرفة نوع الطفيلي المسبب وأدقها. قمنا في هذا العمل باستفراد DNA من عينات مأخوذة من أفراد مـصابين بـداء الليـشمانيا الجلدية ومثبتة على شرائح زجاجية تستخدم في الفحص المجهري المباشر. وِاِستخدم DNA الكينيتوبلاستي لتحديد نوع الطفيلـي باسـتخدام تقنيـة PCR؛ وذلك بوجود مشارع نوعية تضخم شدفاً ذات أطوال مختلفة مميزة لنوع الطفيلي. وقد تبـين أن جميع العينات المدروسة هي من نوع الليشمانيا المدارية L. tropica.

تم من خلال هذا البحث دراسة الحالات التي راجعت قسم الأمراض الجلدية في مشفى تشرين الجامعي باللاذقية والمراكز التخصصية لليشمانيا والأمراض الطفيلية في محافظتي اللاذقية و طرطوس من بداية شهر نيسان 2018 حتى نهاية شهر كانون الأول 2019. حيث تعد سورية من المناطق الموبوءة بالليشمانيا الجلدية، إذ لاحظنا في السنوات الأخيرة تزايد عدد الإصابات الجلدية بشكل كبير في المحافظات السورية جميعها، مما جعل من داء الليشمانيات مشكلة صحية هامة تستدعي الدراسة. بهدف عزل وتحديد نوع وسلالات الطفيلي المسؤول عن الإصابات الجلدية في سورية، وذلك من أجل وضع خطة لمكافحة هذا المرض والحد من انتشاره. تعد طرق الفحص المجهري والزرع المعيار الذهبي في تشخيص الليشمانيا الجلدية، خاصة في المناطق الفقيرة التي ينتشر فيها هذا الداء. من خلال هذه الدراسة تبين أن الفئة العمرية الأكثر تعرضاً للإصابة هي بين 16-40 سنة وأن أعلى نسبة اصابة كانت لدى الذكور. وبالنسبة لتوزع الآفات الجلدية فقد سجلت أعلى نسبة على الوجه والأطراف العلوية والسفلية.

Background and objective: Facial scarring resulting from acne is a common cosmetic concern. Various modalities have been used to treat scars, but limited efficacy and problematic side effects have restricted their application .Fractional co2 laser is one of the modern methods of skin resurfacing , and this study aimed to assess the efficacy of this method in treating facial atrophic acne scars. Patients and methods: Thirty participants with facial atrophic acne scars, 17 female and 13 male, underwent to three treatment sessions with fractional co2 laser , at 4-6 week intervals. Treatment energy parameters were increased every session about 10 watt. Improvement of acne scarring was evaluated using ECCA Grading Scale before the first session and three months after the last session. We also evaluated resulting side effects after every session. Results: The mean ECCA score was 126.5 ± 30.6 before the first session and became 70.3 ± 27.5 three months after the last session . 86.6% and 33.3% of patients have got more than 25% and 50% improvement respectively. The best result was seen in boxcar type. Post inflammatory hyper pigmentation was the most frequent side effect . Conclusion: Fractional co2 laser is an effective and safe therapy for facial atrophic acne scars especially boxcar type. المقدمة : تعتبر الندب العدية أشيع اختلاطات العد الشائع ، وعلى الرغم من كثرة الوسائل المتاحة لعلاجها إلا أنه لا يوجد حتى الآن وسيلة تحقق الحل الأمثل . يعد ليزر co2 المجزأ من التقنيات الحديثة المستخدمة لتمليس الوجه وهدفنا في هذا البحث دراسة فعالية هذه التقنية في علاج الندبات العدية الضمورية التي تصيب الوجه . المواد وطرائق البحث: ضمت الدراسة 30 مريضاً (13ذكور – 17إناث) . خضعوا لثلاث جلسات علاجية بليزرco2 المجزأ بفاصل 4-6أسابيع بين الجلسات و باستخدام قيم طاقية متزايدة حوالي 10 واط كل جلسة. تمت دراسة درجة التحسن لدى كل مريض باستخدام مقياس ECCA قبل البدء بالعلاج وبعد ثلاثة أشهر من الجلسة الاخيرة . كما تم تقييم الآثار الجانبية الحاصلة بعد كل جلسة. النتائج: انخفضت قيمة متوسط مقياس ECCA بعد العلاج بمقدار 44.4% عن قيمته قبل العلاج .حقق 86,6% و 33,3% من المرضى درجات تحسن فوق 25% و 50% على التوالي . وُجدت أفضل النتائج في ندب صندوق السيارة . كان فرط التصبغ أشيع الآثار الجانبية وارتبط حدوثه بالتعرض للشمس . الخاتمة: ليزر co2 المجزأ وسيلة فعالة وآمنة لعلاج الندبات العدية الضمورية التي تصيب الوجه وبشكل خاص تلك المسماة ندب صندوق السيارة .

This study aims to elucidate Nusantara Islam and finds the concept of oneness of God within the Sasak Muslim traditions as analytical tool to understand Nusantara Islam in the local context of Lombok. God is only one, but ways of finding “The One” vary. Islamic teachings manifest in local traditions are termed Nusantara Islam. In this study, Nusantara Islam is analyzed theoretically and practically regarding Sasak Muslim traditions. This study uses a qualitative approach and employs the interpretive paradigm and Theo-anthropological perspective. This study shows that Nusantara Islam in Lombok can be observed through various religious concepts, practices and rituals, such as mulut (the celebration of Prophet’s birthday), maleman (last ten days of fasting Ramadan month) and rowah (sending prayer to the dead). Tawḥīd or the notion of One God lies behind these traditions. Tawḥīd is more than just the notion of oneness of God; it is a worldview manifesting not only in spiritual domains but also in socio-cultural spheres.
