We developed a flexible imager comprising low‐temperature polycrystalline silicon thin‐film transistors and organic photodiodes. The developed flexible imager has high‐resolution and high‐speed readout characteristics. Owing to these characteristics, pulse wave signals can be measured, and the images of fingerprints and veins can be obtained. We evaluate and compare the performance of a 15.6‐inch mini‐LED backlit LCD (mLCD) with a commercial OLED panel. Results show that the mLCD exhibits advantages over the OLED panel in peak brightness, gamma curve, color volume, power consumption, and ambient contrast ratio. The LMK imaging photometer with a high‐resolution CMOS sensor is employed to characterize the halo effect and reconstruct the real luminance profiles based on the non‐ideal profile of the OLED display. Since OLED was first mass‐produced by Samsung Display, various researches related to OLEDs have been actively conducted and now days, People are using OLED displays every single day. As a next generation organic‐optoelectronic display, we suggest the All‐in‐one Sensor Display which can be used for fingerprint recognition, proximity sensor, illuminance sensing and photoplethysmogram which is an area of rapid interest in recent years. To demonstrate the All‐in‐one Sensor Display in entire display area, in this research, we successfully fabricated organic photodetectors (OPDs) in the OLED panels with our own materials, D‐01 and A‐01. Since designing a donor material and an acceptor material is key issue for high Signal to Noise ratio (SNR), we designed and synthesized the D‐01 and A‐01. With our own material based OPDs, All‐in‐one Sensor Display showed good characteristics and successfully recognized fingerprints. This research shows the possibility of the mass production of next organic diode and we believe that All‐in‐one Sensor Display will be the next display application beyond the OLEDs. This paper presents a novel optical type in‐cell fingerprint sensor (iFP) technology, which can detect a user's fingerprint on display. By using low temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFT process, new sensor material, and active pixel sensor circuit (APS), this sensor can detect a fingerprint image with good performance. A polarization independent refractive index (RI) sensor with a RI sensitivity of 50 nm/RIU is demonstrated. The proposed RI sensor simply consists of a liquid crystal (LC) polymeric polarization grating film and one glass substrate. The wavelength shift over the refractive index of surrounding medium is investigated through anisotropic rigorous coupled‐wave analysis. We have developed a nanomesh based on skin sensors that can detect physiological signals such as electrocardiogram (ECG), pressure, and acoustic detection. Nanomesh sensors have high gas permeability and softness. Owing to the high gas permeability, the nanomesh sensor did not cause inflammation when the sensor was attached to the skin for a week. We combine a near‐infrared (NIR) sensitive organic photodetector with a high‐resolution 508 ppi oxide TFT backplane to create a large‐area thin NIR detector. We apply a photolithographic patterning process to integrate a green phosphorescent organic light emitting diode (OLED) with a polymer‐based organic photodetector (OPD) side‐by‐side with resolution up to 635 ppi. We exploited the stability of Donor‐Acceptor polymer on the cylindrical nanopores structure to realize the sensors with a high sensitivity and stability. Then, we propose a double active layer (DL) strategy that exploits an ultra‐thin layer of Poly(3‐hexylthiophene‐2,5‐diyl) (P3HT) to serve as a work function buffer to enhance the operational current. The DL sensor exhibits a sustainable enhanced operational current of microampere level and a stable sensing response even with the presence of P3HT layer. This effect is carefully examined with different aspects, including vertical composition profile of DL configuration, lifetime testing on different sensing layer, morphological analysis, and the versatility of the DL strategy. Finally, we utilize the DL sensor to conduct a tracing of BA concentration in two HD patients before and after HD, and correlate it with the blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels. Pinch gestures for scaling an image were recognized successfully on a surface-capacitive touch screen that has only a single-touch function without increasing manufacturing cost. In this paper, we proposed ambient light sensor (ALS) and color temperature sensor (CTS) circuit integrated in the edge of LCD display panel. The designed circuit is based on the thin film transistor (TFT) technology, the photo TFT can produce high photo current under light for sensor realizing ambient light from 0~50000Lux. Also, CTS circuit are based on ALS circuit but covered with color filter. The result shows that CTS can discriminate different color temperature in ambient light. The biggest advantage of this sensor is that it is compatible with TFT process in manufacturing, and it is small in size and high in efficiency. It has the potential to replace photodiode sensors. This paper theoretically and experimentally analyzes the influence of different sensor array schemes and optical collimation structures on fingerprint recognition. Considering the process yield, cost and the quality of fingerprint image, we find the appropriate size ranges of microlenses and sensors are 20~30 μm and 35~50 μm respectively, and the bonding process between the optical collimating film and the sensor substrate has little damage to the sensor, which is conducive to mass production. In this paper, we integrate ambipolar a‐Si TFT with an active sensing pixel array for ambient color temperature and UV light intensity estimation. The algorithm calculates color temperature using RGBW data, while UV intensity is estimated using effective UV‐blocking ITO glass. This paper analyzed the visibility phenomenon caused by the metal mesh of FMLOC under the point source illumination. We built a simulation model based on PSF of Huygens integral mode, processed the simulation results with background filtration algorithm. This paper investigates diffraction issues in Under Display Infrared (UDIR) sensor applications for 3D facial recognition. While conventional design wisdom emphasizes infrared transmittance, this study introduces a new figure of merit, Zero‐Order Transmittance (ZOT) as a crucial parameter. Patterning the cathode significantly improves ZOT, highlighting its importance in UDIR applications. In this paper, we propose an in‐cell optical fingerprint sensor integrated with an OLED display, featuring a high‐sensitivity sensor that was determined through systematic evaluation. Feasibility of the proposed sensor and sensing circuit was verified through optical and electrical simulation. This paper describes coding detection, adaptive equalizer, and bit error detection for integrated‐stream protocol (iSP) interface. Coding detection is used for evaluating the data format to ensure the correctness of coding. Adaptive equalizer can adjust equalize step automatically at receiver to compensate channel attenuation. A bit error detector counts the number of error bits in the iSP data stream. An iSP source driver for a TFT‐LCD is presented in this paper. This paper proposed an optical compensation scheme for a‐IGZO AMOLED with a high PPI pixel design solution. The PIN sensor is fabricated on the backplane and covers 8 sub‐pixels. Organic semiconductor materials are widely used in X‐ray detection. It has advantages such as flexibility, low cost, and high sensitivity. In this paper, we present an X‐ray detector utilizing a heterojunction structure composed of TIPS‐pentacene and PCBM. This structure incorporates SEBS technology while increasing the charge carrier mobility, thus increasing the flexibility of the device and reducing the dark current. We have demonstrated a pixelated polarization sensing layer realized by the combination of wire grid polarizer (WGP), band pass filter (BPF), and patterned liquid crystal polymer (LCP) retarder. It offers multi‐directional polarization imaging capability thanks to LCP photo‐alignment process. This technology can be applied to interpret polarization data captured by an optical sensor to extract useful information. This paper presents a controller IC with on‐display capacitive sensor for touch and multi fingerprint function. Single sensor and the IC enable both touch and fingerprint without additional area or sensor. Fully balanced multi‐channel driving technique with proposed method removes column offset to maximize the immunity to display and external noise. Prototype IC is fabricated in a 65nm CMOS technology. In this paper, a 15‐inch XGA TFT‐LCD with embedded 113×256 three primary colors photo sensors is successfully developed by a‐Si:H TFT. Each photo sensor consists of one TFT switch, one storage capacitor and diode‐connected TFTs covered with color filters of three primary colors (red, green, and blue). In this paper, we present a novel integrated light‐dependent sensor which can be used to detect the illuminance of the ambient light. We have developed a new AMLCD with multiple ambient light sensors (ALSs) for reducing backlight (BL) power consumption, and false sensing of ambient illuminance. ALSs perform well in showing BL control for power‐saving, even though one of the sensors is covered by a finger shadow. Architecture of integrated ALS with a‐Si technologies are presented. We fabricate the in‐cell and wide‐dynamic‐sensing ALSs display using a‐Si photo‐transistor sensor technology. This paper shows the concept and design of a flexible large‐area multi‐fingerprint sensor. The sensor detects the thermal mass of different materials, e.g. the skin with high heat capacity and air with very low heat capacity. We show the device architecture and readout strategies. A flexible X‐ray sensor array using IGZO‐TFT was prototyped. It is known that IGZO‐TFT shows faster read‐out speed compared to amorphous silicon TFT. With such superior characteristics, IGZO‐TFT yield dynamic motion X‐ray detectors with great performance. In addition, flexible substrate realizes light‐weight and robust detector. With the requirements for applications in extremely cold environments, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) technology, limited by the properties of liquid crystal materials, exhibits poor image quality, especially when displaying rapidly changing images at low temperatures. Therefore, improving the response time at low temperatures is a key issue. In this paper, we have designed a heating circuit for the LCD. This circuit is controlled by an internal sensor, which improves the LCD's performance at low temperatures. Experimental results show that the internal sensor can provide feedback within a range of ‐50℃ to 150℃. In this paper, it is presented a capacitive touch sensor IC with noise-based hybrid sensing scheme, which provides two sensing modes with noise detector. In noiseless environment, fast power-efficient peak-detection sensing mode is enabled and if noise is detected, the sensing mode is switched to high-SNR demodulation sensing mode. Therefore, it adaptively offers both fast sensing speed and high noise immunity without large power consumption. The proposed IC shows higher than 50-dB SNR in demodulation mode and over 240-Hz reporting rate in peak-detection mode with 2.8-mW analog power consumption, evaluated with 4-inch AMOLED panel with on-cell touch screen.
