Aim and Objectives: Although inclusive education of children with intellectual disability is currently an accepted practice, it is often challenged by negative attitude of schoolteachers. We undertook two surveillance studies aimed at Study A - identifying knowledge and teachers' attitudes towards children with intellectual disability and practices of inclusive education in a semi-urban school of South India. Study B -Determining the effect of educational intervention towards attitudes on inclusive education. Method: Knowledge, Attitude and Practice surveillance questionnaires (KAP and ATPD) were given to ninety-six consenting schoolteachers in Study A and twenty schoolteachers in Study B and analyzed. Results: In Study A, the overall attitude mean indicated a favorable attitude towards the children with intellectual disability. The mean overall attitude score was 77.1 (SD: 9.58), with a normal distribution. Forty to fifty percent were aware of intellectual disability and attributed them to biological causes. Ninety-two percent agreed on the need for education and stepwise training for a child with an intellectual disability. In real-life practice, results of classroom management were inaccurate. In Study B, knowledge, attitudes and practices towards inclusive education improved with educational intervention with a positive change of 7.19% on the ATDP scale. Conclusion: These findings suggest a generally positive attitude towards intellectual disability and inclusive education. Comprehensive training programs improve knowledge and attitudes towards inclusive education.

Inclusive education is the process of integrating individuals with disabilities into a regular classroom, and it helps reflect the world's commitment to equal educational opportunities as outlined in UNCRPD. It emphasizes the importance of embracing diversity and promoting acceptance among students who are impaired. This paper examines why it is important to include learners with impairments into mainstream classes and the favorable attitudes towards inclusive education among teachers, administrators and students. Many barriers hinder its implementation such as lack of professional development for teachers, insufficient facilities for learning, difficulty in creating relationships between classmates, inadequate parent participation, and absence of legislations and policies that are aligned towards its practice. The role of several educational theories like social constructivism, humanistic approach and universal design for learning (UDL) have been discussed to show their relevance in addressing challenges found in inclusive learning. Social Constructivism shows how collaborative work can be used inside the classrooms so that peer rejection will be lessened. The approach that is humanistic stresses about the comprehensive growth all individuals while addressing the needs of learners with disabilities. UDL focuses on promoting an accessible learning environment and eliminating physical barriers to foster successful growth for all students. Moreover, this article underlines relevance of awareness on how children with impairments can be incorporated into conventional classrooms and benefits which inclusive education has for both disabled and non disabled students. In conclusion, this paper emphasized the transformative nature of inclusive education in fostering a learning atmosphere that promotes diversity, empathy, and acceptance, contributing to students' overall development.

There are steps formally initiated by the Government of India to maintain its adherence to the norms of Inclusive Education. Such schemes, acts and policy drafts are brought into discussion in this paper along with an appraisal of their draft and scope. This include the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan which became operational from the year 2001, The Right to Education Act, which is implemented from the year 2009 and the Action Plan for Inclusion in Education of Children and Youth with Disabilities of 2005, which was revised in the year 2009. The discussion is anchored around, though not limited to the aspect of 'Diversity' which is very pertinent to the Indian scenario and the philosophy of Inclusion. Cultural and geographical diversity of the Indian sub-continent provoke challenges in 'Doing Diversity' in classrooms and at the same time it is contributing for the teacher and the taught. Considering the scope of the concept of social inclusion and inclusive education, the paper argues that at an implementation level, inclusive education should be one that is responsive to diversities in a classroom and cultural space. Rather than reproducing social structures pertaining to the above mentioned social categories of class, gender, language etc., policy drafting and implementation of inclusive education should make certain attempts which are pro-inclusive. They need to be less privileging towards certain ways of learning and certain ways of evaluation, considering the physical and cultural diversities of the learners. In our discussion on these schemes and their scope in ensuring diversity in classrooms, questions pertaining to certain disadvantaged sections are covered including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Gender nonbinaries, migrants etc.

This study investigates the extent to which paper-based data-driven learning (DDL) activities can improve Thai EFL students' grammar learning of conditional sentences (the second condition), as well as the participants' attitudes toward learning through the DDL approach. This was a two-week research using a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The convenience-sampled participants were 15 Thai EFL undergraduate students majoring in English at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This study included three research instruments: a pre/post-test, an attitudes questionnaire, and interviews. The instructional approach, which consisted of the paper-based DDL material, was devised using The Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) consisting of 40 concordances. Using non-parametric statistics Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, there is a statistically significant difference in mean scores in the findings (p<0.001), indicating that their grammatical knowledge was developed after participating in DDL activities. Furthermore, the participants had positive attitudes towards DDL learning since they considered DDL as a fruitful and beneficial tool in helping them acquire grammatical knowledge and language patterns by themselves. Therefore, the outcomes of the research have a noteworthy impact on the field of teaching English, showcasing the potential of utilizing corpus data to analyze genuine language patterns and enhance learners' understanding of language structure.

This study aims to reveal the perceptions of Anatolian High School and Vocational High School students towards their schools using metaphors. For this purpose, the following questions were sought. What are the metaphoric perceptions of Anatolian High School and Vocational High School students towards their schools? How are metaphorical perceptions of Anatolian high school and Vocational High School students' schools conceptualized? What are the likes and dislikes of Anatolian and Vocational High School students about their schools? In this research, maximum diversity sampling was employed to reflect the views of students from different sampling areas and purposeful sampling methods. The study group consisted of students from an Anatolian High School and a Vocational High School in Ankara in the 2016-2017 academic year. The research was conducted with a total of two hundred students, one hundred from each high school. It was found that the students in both groups perceived the school with supervision and rules. Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University is a non-profit public institution of higher education located in the city of Nakhon Sawan, Thailand was founded in 1922. The Faculty of Education has been organizing teaching and learning to produce computer teachers for more than 10 years and namely the major was changed according to presented technology and development. The purpose of this research was to develop a Bachelor of Education curriculum in Computer and Industrial Education in the Sandbox format with the concept of competency-based curriculum development and guidelines for the implementation of the Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education. Researchers used both qualitative and quantitative research methodology in conduct the research. Using Mean and Standard Deviation to describing the data was used. The results of this research show the consistent of curriculum development and detailing in this paper. Thus, the result of this paper is part of the whole completed work.

This study is an attempt to examine science teachers' views on Argumentation-Based Science Learning (ABSL) and the activities they have prepared. The study employed a qualitative case study method. The working group consisted of 5 science teachers who work in secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Turkey and who have master's degree. This study deployed the "Semi-structured Preliminary Interview Form", "The Evaluation Rubric related to the Activities Based on Argumentation-Based Science Learning " and "Semi-structured Final Interview Form". Content analysis and descriptive analysis were used during data analysis. The results revealed that the teachers' perceptions towards ABSL before the implementation were mostly grounded on giving opinions and argumentation. Four teachers did not use ABSL in lessons before and they did not prepare any activities. On analyzing the activities prepared by the teachers through use of ABSL, all the teachers were identified to consider grade level, unit, subject area, learning outcome and associating them with daily life while preparing the activities. The teachers were also determined to use concept cartoons, competing theories with stories, and experiment design techniques in the activity papers. Besides, the Toulmin argumentation model steps were taken into consideration in the activity papers. Concerning the analysis of last interview data, teachers' perceptions towards ABSL were found to be opinions, claims, opposing ideas and arguments. The teachers also indicated that they avoided creating misconceptions and that they took into account the student and grade levels in the ABSL activities. In addition, the teachers noted that preparing the activity is time-consuming and unsuitable for every subject. This study is paramount in terms of giving information to teachers and pre-service teachers related to the teachers' views on ABSL and how they have prepared ABSL activities.

Education is changing to digital education so we force to act with good behaviour. Nowadays, text mining is to be challenged for educationists. This paper addresses the ethical behaviour of avoiding text mining in digital education in the twenty-first century such as have explained how to act with ethical behaviour in others' text data in the current situation. This article advises following ethical behaviour in an educational text message, information, materials, etc. Further, this article explains what text mining is and how to use it with ethical behaviour. We will hope that text mining protection will get to everyone in future. Beginning with an overview of text data mining, this paper concludes with how to play with good behaviour.

This study aims to investigate the advantages of implementing multimedia resources in the teaching and learning environment of mathematics and statistics. It examines the use of tablet PCs to create video learning resources. Such practices allow lecturers to provide additional learning support to students via the learning platform Moodle. This paper discusses the experiences of three lecturers in developing a technology-based, interactive teaching method to support student learning. The results found that "solved examples" in the video resources are useful in demonstrating topics about statistics. Furthermore, the paper encourages lecturers to learn from their experiences and develop learning resources to enable students to better engage in the learning process.

Current paper reports the findings of a content analysis of Open Educational Resources. Twenty three studies were collected for the analysis. The studies were collected from different journals depending on open access policy. Every study was categorised by author, year of publication, title of the study, author characteristics and analysis. The analysis refers to the information about Open Educational Resources variables. Therefore the investigators categorize the research papers based on OER. An analysis of research papers was formed in conclusion and finalizing the common dimensions of content analysis of OER studies.

This paper examines to what extent paper-based data-driven learning (DDL) activities can improve Thai EFL students' vocabulary learning concerning three English synonymous adjectives, which are naughty, disobedient and rebellious, and explores the attitudes of the participants towards learning through the DDL activities. This study was a one-group pre-test post-test design conducted over a four-week period. The convenience-sampled participants were 30 Thai EFL students studying in the Faculty of Education, majoring in English. There were three research instruments in this study including pre/post-test, Thai version of attitudes questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The instructional treatment, the paper-based DDL materials, was designed based on the criteria of meanings, collocations, formality and grammatical patterns. The corpus data representing each synonymous adjective was drawn from The British National Corpus (BNC) with the assistance of the online tool Sketch Engine (SkE). Using paired-sample t-test, the results indicate a statistically significant difference in the mean scores (p < 0.001) suggesting that their vocabulary knowledge had been developed after learning through DDL activities. Furthermore, the participants had positive attitudes towards learning through DDL as they found it enjoyable and effective in learning English. Thus, the findings of the study have a profound impact in the fields of English language teaching as it is clearly seen that corpus data serves as a useful tool to explore the authentic language patterns and help enhance learners' metalinguistic awareness.

The aim of this study is to identify the most prolific countries in the field of special education and to discuss the widespread impact of their papers by taking into account the country's h-index. Through a bibliometric analysis, the data were collected in the Web of Science Core Collection category "Education, Special" in the Social Science Citation Index during 2011-2020. The 25 most prolific countries in the field of special education were determined in terms of paper productivity, and it was seen that the leading country was undisputedly the USA (54.42%). Meanwhile, a strong positive correlation was found between the h-index and the number of papers published by the countries (r=0.864). On the other hand, when the ranking in terms of the number of papers was reconfigured by the h-index, it was relatively changed. The possible reasons for this change for the countries with the most changing rankings were discussed by considering some definitive criteria such as the journal quartiles, the percentage of international and domestic, and the percentage of open access papers. This study reports a positive correlation between the quality and quantity in the field of special education for the publications of countries. It has been shown that where the positive correlation deviates, then especially, the journal quartiles, the percentage of international collaboration and the percentage of open access papers have a significant effect. The bibliometric findings may be useful to enrich the discussion about the widespread impact of papers and debate whether the use of h-index is acceptable for cross-national comparisons.

The main purpose of this study was to reveal the experiences and problems faced by the classroom teachers who just started the teaching profession. The phenomenology approach was employed in the study since the study examined the experiences of classroom teachers who just started teaching by interviewing them. Sample selection was determined by using a purposeful sampling method to understand the phenomenon. In this regard, criterion sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods, was utilized in the study to obtain in-depth information about the phenomenon. Within the scope of the research, two basic criteria were taken into account, which is not being in the teaching profession for more than three years and working in schools with different socio-economic levels. The interviews were conducted online with the teachers at the times and dates determined by the teachers. The reason for conducting the interviews online was that the classroom teachers participating in the study worked in different cities. A total of 20 interviews were conducted, including classroom teachers from different regions of Turkey. Thematic analysis was used in the analysis of the study data. According to the results, classroom teachers in their first years, the study determined that teachers expressed their experiences in the context of "professional experiences" and "sociocultural-regional experiences." This paper explores, from a theoretical basis, the difficulty in defining and assessing learner autonomy in higher education. Although the development of learner autonomy as a key aim of higher education, it is a vague and ill-defined term. As such, the assessment of learner autonomy within university programs of study is highly problematic. The author argues that the authentic assessment of genuine learner autonomy may not be possible within formal credit-bearing programs of higher education. The aim of the paper is to stimulate reflection and discussion so that university teaching staff may reflect and consider whether they can assess autonomy in the programs they are responsible for.

The purpose of this paper is to present a review of Augmented Reality (AR) technology as an educational tool for foreign language education. Following a short yet comprehensive literature review, the paper reviews educational AR technology in terms of learning theories, learning pedagogies, teachers, students, culture, infrastructure, and sustainability based on the framework developed by Osterweil et al. (2016) for evaluating the appropriateness of educational technology use in global development programs. The review showed that AR technology provides several benefits for language learning; however, it is not ready for total integration into language classes. The paper also provides practical suggestions for activities enriched with AR in four language skills and recommended applications. This review offers various implications for teachers, teacher educators, researchers and coursebook developers.

Purpose: The concept of inclusive education is moved from the homogeneous perspective to heterogeneous perspective in developed countries and even in developing countries, the discourses on inclusive education are argued from the diversity perspective. Many scholars (Florian, 2010; Slee, 2010; Meijer, 2003 and; Allan, 2011) who are researching on inclusive education debated and discussed that successful practice of inclusive education depends greatly on teacher competencies, albeit practicing inclusive education depends on many critical factors like attitudes, curriculum, resources, parental involvement, multidisciplinary orientation etc., Projects like 'Teacher Education for Inclusion (2009-2012)' discussed and framed various models of teacher competencies required for the successful practice of inclusive education. In this conceptual paper, the authors reviewed the dimensions /sub scales of emotional intelligence and deliberated its significance associated with teacher competencies that support them to practice inclusive education. Approach: Even though there are various emotional intelligence models, the authors have chosen the Bar-On Model of Emotional Intelligence (2006) considering its wider usage across the country. Further, the author included the conceptual papers/research works accessible via open source for the review. Significance: The present review makes the reader to understand and rationalize the significance of emotional intelligence for teachers (both pre and in-service) to develop their competencies for practicing inclusive education. On one hand, this review justifies the readers that emotional intelligence is related significantly and positively to increased adapted behaviour, higher quality social relationships, longer retention in one's professional life, better coping strategies and leadership skills that enhances individuals' intra and inter personal skills. On the other hand, the paper will deduce that the emotional intelligence in teachers will benefit them to meet the needs of diverse students in their classroom without any doubt. Originality Value: The present review is a part of an ICSSR Major Research Project sponsored during the academic year 2017-18.

This paper provides a critical analysis of the United Kingdom's higher education Key Information Set (KIS), which was implemented following the 2011 UK White Paper 'Students at the Heart of the System'. It argues that one of the central tenets of the KIS -- providing information that students within a free market can make an informed choice and, through this process of consumer choice improve the quality of teaching, is untenable because a central component of the KIS, the National Student Survey (NSS), is unreliable when used for comparing university courses. Further, it argues that the KIS reified a neoliberal perspective about the worth and value of higher education qualification, positioning it as a commodity of value only to the paying individual rather than being something of value to society as a whole. It will be of particular interest to academics and policy makers from outside of the United Kingdom, where governmental and regulatory agencies may be implementing similar policies.

The review highlights the transition's challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the need to balance technological advancements with human-centric values, ensure equitable technology access, and maintain privacy. It presents the rise of smart universities as a pivotal step towards more interconnected, intelligent, and sustainable communities, significantly influencing education and societal development.

There is no need or point to testing of knowledge, attributes, traits, behaviours or abilities of an individual if information obtained from the test is inaccurate. However, by and large, it seems the estimation of psychometric properties of test items in classroomshas been completely ignored otherwise dying slowly in most testing environments. In the quest to obtain sound and efficient test results, it is imperative that assessorsrely on some psychometric properties to make informed classrooms decisions. These psychometric properties can be estimated using KuderRichardson20 Formula. In this study, 30 multiple-choice items were administered and used for the study. The strength of each item was analysed by looking at their difficulty level and how theydiscriminated among the students. Reliability tests were also conducted in addition to the item analysis to observe the quality of the test as a whole. With lucid prose, KR-20 was used to estimate the psychometric properties of 30 set integrated science test items (which werescored dichotomously)to serve as a primer for assessorsin higher institutions. The procedure produced coefficient value of 0.6915which is approximately 0.7 implying that the reliability of the test was high.The procedure we used to arrive at the obtained coefficient is extensively outlined in the paper. We concluded thatthe suggested procedure (KR-20) for estimating psychometric properties may have a paradigm shift in classroom testing situations where it will communicate to teachers on the efficiency and process of teachermade tests. In essence, this could enhance the quest of obtaining the real knowledge, attributes, traits, behaviours or abilities of students by using test items that are reliable and dependable.

The paper tries to unveil English teachers' in-service training needs for contemporary approaches in foreign language teaching. Designed in descriptive model, this research was conducted to 140 English teachers working in Siirt city. A survey form, developed by the researcher, was used as data collection tool.Descriptive statistics were used for quantitative data and direct citations from participants' opinions are presented. According to the results of the study, more than half of the English teachers hadn't attended any in-service training course held by Ministry of National Education [MoNE]. Also, it was revealed that the majority of the participants didn't have any lesson on contemporary approaches in foreign language teaching during their university education.The frequency of the teachers participating in the research to feel the need to attend an in-service training course on contemporary approaches in foreign language teaching was quite high and their average level of perceived knowledge about contemporary approaches was found to be 1,82 out of 5. It was also found that 75% of the teachers did not find the foreign language education applied in schools contemporary.

This study aims to examine the effects of flipped learning on L2 students' overall academic achievements through meta-analysis. Forty studies (e.g., journal articles, M.A/Ph.D. theses and conference papers) on 'flipped classroom', 'flipped learning' and 'academic achievement' were included in this meta-analysis study. The data was analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software. The random effects model was used in analyzing the overall effect size and the heterogeneity of the studies included in this meta-analysis. The results revealed that flipped learning has statistically significant effect on L2 learners' academic achievements (g=1.303) compared to traditional learning approaches. This result does not differ according to publication type, educational level and four basic language skills and sub-skills, but it differs according to sample size of the selected studies.

The purpose of this study is to examine the views of the course teacher, students' and participant researcher's field notes about traditional (smart board, pen and paper, oral) and Web 2.0 supported (A Sample of Kahoot) formative assessment in 5th grade science course. The study employed case study design. The participants of the study were a science teacher, 58 students and a participant researcher. The data of the study were obtained from a semi-structured teacher/student opinion form and field notes consisting of the participant researcher's observations. The data were analysed descriptively with Maxqda Plus software. At the end of the study, common positive views on traditional and Kahoot formative assessment were determined; however, in Kahoot formative assessment, it was determined that the teacher had difficulty in classroom management (too much noise in the classroom environment). In the traditional formative assessment process, students stated that they disliked solving the questions on the board incorrectly and in the Kahoot formative assessment process, they disliked the competitive environment in the classroom. In line with these results, it can be said that in order for formative assessment to achieve its purpose, teachers need in-service training on classroom management and creating a classroom environment where students feel comfortable.

This study addressed the use of Mentimeter, one of the Web 2.0 tools, by junior-level pre-service mathematics teachers, who study at the department of primary mathematics teaching, to maintain the students' interest in the lesson and to encourage them to participate more easily. Drawing on a case study design, this study further aimed to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of using Mentimeter on students in courses. To collect data accordingly, the students participating were asked to write two reflection papers on the use of Mentimeter in the first and last course. This study was carried out on a voluntary basis with the participation of 30 pre-service teachers. This study concluded that the positive opinions of the pre-service teachers positively on the use of Mentimeter included that it increased the motivation towards the course, allowed the students to answer the questions without any hesitation as they were kept anonymous on the screen while answering, and acquired different perspectives as they could read the opinions of their peers; on the other hand, some of the negative opinions emphasized the time-consuming nature of the application, causing delays in the lesson.

Language education evolves and is shaped by the needs of the generations as well as the contemporary realities of the world. Today, humanity faces with rapid developments and innovations in technology and science. These realities shape the society and each community in the world. In this regard, the term Generation Z (Gen Z) has emerged. Gen Z has its own dynamics and realities which, in turn, entails new issues in learning and teaching. It is not possible to implement classical and obsolete techniques and ways while teaching English to Gen Z. Current paper is an attempt to investigate the theoretical and practical issues of teaching English to Gen Z.

Both cooperative and collaborative learning are learner-centered teaching approaches in English Language Teaching (ELT) to support active learning, shared learning, inductive learning, and autonomous learning. However, definitional and conceptual clarity of these two concepts did not receive as much attention as they deserve. As a result, these two terms are often confused, conflated or used interchangeably. This review paper critiqued the two terms by revealing their components, identifying their commonalities as well as variances, and explicating their theoretical bases and exploring their role in fostering learner autonomy. Searching and reviewing published literature were used to achieve the objectives of the study. The study perceived that cooperative learning is the educational technique that uses small groups of students guided by the teacher to benefit their individual and each other's learning whereas collaborative learning is a philosophy of interaction of a learning group where people take responsibility for their own learning while recognizing their peers' abilities and contributions. Both the approaches foster autonomous learning behavior where cooperative learning is considered the foundation stage for collaborative learning. This article will benefit current and future ELT practitioners and researchers of this emerging field of pedagogy by providing a clearer analyses of the terms and role in fostering learner autonomy.

The aim of this study is to determine the views of candidate science teachers about environmental problems and solutions to these problems. One of the qualitative research designs, phenomenology, was used in the research. Data were collected with a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher. In the analysis of the research, a descriptive analysis technique was used. The study was carried out with 19 science teacher candidates. When definitions of the environment are examined, it is as "the environment in which living and non-living beings interact, the area where living things live, the artificial environment-natural environment." Candidate teachers identified air pollution as the most important environmental problem. They stated that environmental problems occur due to production, consumption, both production and consumption and natural reasons. Candidate teachers discussed solution proposals of environmental problems individually, professionally, socially, and administratively. In individual solution proposals, it is recommended to use public transport, to encourage afforestation, to consume resources economically, to reduce the use of perfume-deodorants and fossil fuels, and to raise awareness with experiments, activities, visual and practical solutions under professional solution suggestions. When social solution suggestions are examined, it is stated that to raise awareness; it is necessary to produce visual and artistic activities, meetings, training, and projects, to be engaged in conscious agriculture in managerial solution offers, to use renewable energy sources, to recycle, to build industrial establishments outside of residential areas, to establish treatment facilities, and to install and inspect filters in factory chimneys. This paper makes an effort to investigate the obstacles in nonequivalence at the idiomatic and expressional level and then presents some certain factors to face such difficulties in "Animal Farm" novel (1945) by George Orwell and its translation by Amir Amirshahi (1969). The researchers in the current study try by analyzing six certain strategies as using an idiomatic expression of similar meaning and form, similar meaning but dissimilar form, borrowing the source language, translation by paraphrase, translation by the omission of a play on idiomatic expression and translation by the omission of entire idiomatic expression (Baker, 2011). Moreover, the present research is a descriptive, non-judgmental, comparative and corpus-based analysis of English-Persian parallel study. The findings demonstrate the fact that the practical ways in the translation of idiomatic expressions presented by Baker (2011) are applicable, and the most useable strategy is using an idiomatic expression of similar meaning but dissimilar form at 35.96%.

With Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), a major change to the remote education arrangements has arisen. As it is clear, the pandemic has got side effects, especially in the scope of education and English as foreign language (EFL) teaching. Students at all levels were encouraged to continue learning despite the difficulties they had throughout the crisis. This study aims to investigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the field of EFL, particularly by revealing the viewpoints of secondary school students on pandemic remote education and its impact on their English language learning process. Thus, it was designed as qualitative research; interviews were held to probe in-depth into their perceptions on EFL teaching throughout pandemic remote education. Interviews were conducted with thirty secondary school students chosen voluntarily. The participants were chosen from different schools. The data obtained from the interviews were analysed through qualitative content analysis by NVivo 8 software program. The results revealed that participants declared that most of the teachers used course books and gave pencil-paper assignments. It was also highlighted that teachers emphasised reading and listening skills in their lessons rather than writing and speaking. Another significant finding of the study is that the participants preferred face-to-face foreign language teaching to remote teaching. Nevertheless, they admitted that online language teaching has several advantages comparing to traditional face-to-face education besides its challenges such as technical, economic, contextual, and individual problems. Lastly, several noteworthy suggestions were made regarding teachers, policymakers, families, and students themselves.

This study investigated the immediate and sustained effects of revision-mediated (RICF) and attention-mediated (AICF) indirect coded corrective feedback on the written syntactic accuracy development of 50 upper-intermediate Iranian EFL learners assigned to two RICF and AICF groups. They received eight-session treatments, followed by an immediate posttest and then a delayed posttest after a four-week time interval. The collected written scripts were co-rated for syntactic accuracy by the researcher and her colleague. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted with SPSS 21. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the paired-samples t-tests revealed that each treatment separately (i.e., revision-mediated and attention-mediated CF) had a statistically significant impact on EFL learners' written syntactic accuracy both in the short and long term. Moreover, the independent samples t-tests indicated no significant difference between the effects of revision-mediated and attention-mediated CF on EFL learners' written syntactic accuracy both in the short and long term. The paper provides discussion and implications.

There are several student performances assessed in Intensive English Programs (IEPs) worldwide in each academic year. These student performances are mostly graded by human raters with a certain degree of error. However, the accuracy of these performance assessments is of utmost importance because they feed data into some high stakes decisions about the students and such performance assessments constitute a large number of students' scores. Therefore, the accuracy of these performance assessments should be given priority by the IEPs. However, the current rater performance monitoring systems which can help the administrators of IEPs to monitor rater performance in performance assessment are away from practicality because they require the use of complex mathematical models and specialized software. A practical and easy to maintain rater performance categorization system is proposed in this paper and it was accompanied by a sample study. Its benefits to the administrators of IEPs and their raters are also discussed besides its practical considerations.

Privatization has grown tremendously in the field of education in India to meet the growing demands for education in society. Privatization of education refers to the transfer of provision of education from the state to private providers with the overall policy goals- (i) Increasing access to and participation in basic education, (ii) Improving learning outcomes and overall efficiency and (iii) Improving equity in educational opportunities (Pedró, et al., 2015). School Education plays an important role in shaping the future of the nation by facilitating all-round development of the student. Keeping in view the increasing popularity and rapid growth of a number of private schools and contributions it made to society also comes with its problems. It is equally important on pragmatic grounds to examine the move towards privatization and its problems. In light of this, the present paper attempts to analyse the problems and prospects of privatization of school education as perceived by parents, teachers and students with special reference to Churachandpur District, Manipur.

Digital pedagogy is essential now as the entire world moves towards digitalization in all fields. Technology has influenced a lot on learning and resulted in the development of digital pedagogy, which has become a vital part of today's world. This paper focuses on the influence and benefits of digital pedagogy for sustainable learning. The multifaceted nature that supports the developing idea of sustainable learning is viable for collaborating and networking interdisciplinary. Introduction of common goals, shared values and means for sustainability become challenging to achieve until a rapid or fast advancement on data innovation and information technology, digital learning, and worldwide access to data, information communication technologies (ICT) and development of self-organized socio-technical networks. Another dimension for innovation is 'Susthingsout', which refers to a creative pedagogy with an enhanced teaching platform, improved e-magazine and virtual e-learning platforms. The word 'Susthingsout' means to uphold, encourage, and instill sustainable learning through the extensive and broad curriculum to the undergraduate course and various campus-based activities. In this regard, 'Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)' bridges the gap between the traditional and contemporary era that receives global acceptance and global reach. The present study outlines how contemporary platforms developed with unified efforts by combining experts, professionals, academicians, practitioners, learners and curriculum as a result of blended application on theory and practical knowledge and augments students' employability. The study aims to examine the viability of academic practice, skills beyond disciplines, the classroom and the institution. The conceptual model has been initiated on Digital Collaboration and Sustainable Learning. Therefore, collaborative learning, blended learning, flipped learning, open conversation, creativity and innovation are at the heart of education and it is a system for sustainable learning and development.

Contrastive Analysis, since its introduction as a potential predictor of the influence of the learners' first language on the second language and the resultant errors, has constantly been subject to criticism on both theoretical and empirical grounds. This once-popular approach of interpreting errors resulting from the interference from the native language met a gradual decline in acceptability as Behaviorism, the theory on which it was based, lost its credibility. Also, empirical findings pointed out its ineffectiveness as the predictor of errors. However, contrastive analysis projects have been carried out in different parts of the world to avoid errors in specific language areas, including pronunciation. This paper aims to shed light on the origin, evolution and significance of the theory, especially in designing instructional materials for the Bengali learners of English as a second language.

The primary purpose of this study was to investigate an L2 learner's motivation during his involvement in language learning. Specifically, it was sought to conceptualize the (de)motives that might have an impact on the participant's language learning process and to reconceptualize, in this sense, the process above referring to the Activity Theory (AT). To this end, this study attempted to examine whether there were any changes in his motivation within the framework of AT. The scrutiny of data revealed that the changes stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative influence on Ahmet's language learning process. Although he was relatively motivated as he started as a language learner, the new changes he had to adapt to amidst the outbreak externally affected his learning experiences, leading to demotivation. The present paper argues how this change can be captured by referring to Engeström's (1999, 2009) triangle model. Further discussions and implications are provided in the study.

India, one of the fast growing and developing nations of the world, is doing well in growth, but it is not up to the mark in some fields. In science and technology, it is doing at par with other developed nations, and markable achievements are being touched. But in health or human growth, most of the population is not clear about the importance of health and human potentials. Many portions of the population are not aware of the positive aspects of human beings that can help them to flourish. The study has been done to find the psychological well-being of academic achievement and gender. For the study, a sample of 519 senior secondary school students from different senior secondary schools of Kulgam and Anantnag districts of Kashmir valley were selected. The sample was drawn by using a multi-stage stratified sampling technique. The tools of data collection were Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS) developed by Dr. Devendra Singh Sisodia and Ms. Pooja Choudhary (2012) and academic achievement as the marks obtained by senior secondary school students in the board examination conducted by JKBOSE. The data obtained from these students were then analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques with the help of SPSS version 22. The paper also makes some suggestions, keeping the findings of the study in mind to enhance the psychological well-being of our budding human resource.

This article describes the development of teaching-learning mathematics & learning theories from a socio-cultural perspective. The methodology of the study is based on qualitative type.

Teaching and learning practices need to be revisited to revitalize education. The mundane rote learning due to excessive standardization, pedagogical red tape and routinization often become surfeited and such experiences are discussed by students and teachers alike across the globe. The focus has to shift from content and transmission to problem, process and experience-based learning. This calls for dynamic learning which is challenging since creativity takes over control; reaction takes over responsiveness. Enhanced learning practices take over routine learning providing a rich learning experience for students. Difficult situations or problems prepare and prompt deep thinking and the solutions become learning experiences. Thus problems attract our attention and focus on digging deep into energizing thoughts to solve the same. This rationale and the associated dimensions become the fertile ground for problem based teaching and learning practices. This paper explores the revitalization of education through problem based learning practices. The study highlights the need for a shift from theory base to problem based learning. Redesigning conceptual representations to experience-based, problem based and enquiry based learning can promote relational understanding.

In this paper, the investigator indicates the emotional intelligence plays an important role in life and contributes to the personal and social development of an individual. There is something beyond the intellectual capacity, which determines the success of a person. A survey of the study of emotional intelligence of the higher secondary school teachers should be analyzed and the investigator has launched the investigation. The sample was limited to 350 higher secondary school teachers only. The study was restricted to higher secondary Teachers only. The study was restricted to Chengalpattu Educational District only. Only the survey method is used to collect data. The Emotional Intelligence Inventory tool was used in the study. The tool was designed and developed by Thomas Alexander (2004). The investigator used the 'test-retest' method in establishing the reliability of the tool on emotional intelligence. The responses of both the test and retest were scored and the Correlation Coefficient of 0.74 was found between the test and retest. The means score value of male teachers 55.15 and the means score value of female teachers is 56.64. The table value 1.96 is lesser than the calculated value t value. There is no significant difference between male and female higher secondary school Teachers in their Emotional Intelligence. Hence the null hypothesis is accepted. Teachers also should have proper training in developing their Emotional Intelligence and in improving their Social attachment.
