In this paper, we study a mean-field spin model with three- and two-body interactions. In a recent paper (Ann Henri Poincaré, 2024) by Contucci, Mingione and Osabutey, the equilibrium measure for large volumes was shown to have three pure states, two with opposite magnetization and an unpolarized one with zero magnetization, merging at the critical point. The authors proved a central limit theorem for the suitably rescaled magnetization. The aim of our paper is presenting a prove of a central limit theorem for the rescaled magnetization applying the exchangeable pair approach due to Stein. Moreover we prove (non-uniform) Berry–Esseen bounds, a concentration inequality, Cramér-type moderate deviations and a moderate deviations principle for the suitably rescaled magnetization. Interestingly we analyze Berry–Esseen bounds in case the model-parameters (K n , J n) converge to the critical point (0, 1) on lines with different slopes and with a certain speed, and obtain new limiting distributions and thresholds for the speed of convergence. This paper’s objective is to improve the existing proof of the derivation of the Rayleigh–Boltzmann equation from the nonideal Rayleigh gas (Bodineau et al. in Invent Math 203:493–553, 2016), yielding a far faster convergence rate. This equation is a linear version of the Boltzmann equation, describing the behavior of a small fraction of tagged particles having been perturbed from thermodynamic equilibrium. This linear equation, derived from the microscopic Newton laws as suggested by the Hilbert’s sixth problem, is much better understood than the quadratic Boltzmann equation, and even enable results on long time scales for the kinetic description of gas dynamics. This paper is concerned with the large deviation principle of invariant measures of the stochastic reaction–diffusion equation with polynomial drift driven by additive noise defined on the entire space R n . Since the standard Sobolev embeddings on R n are not compact and the spectrum of the Laplace operator on R n are not discrete, there are many issues for proving the large deviations of invariant measures in the case of unbounded domains, including the difficulties for proving the compactness of the level sets of rate functions, the uniform Dembo–Zeitouni large deviations on compact sets as well as the exponential tightness on compact sets. Currently, there is no result available in the literature on the large deviations of invariant measures for stochastic PDEs on unbounded domains, and this paper is the first one to deal with this issue. This paper proposes an improved cumulant collision model for the pseudo-potential lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) to increase the stability of multiphase flow simulations involving low viscosities. This model is based on the work of Kharmiani et al. in (J Stat Phys 175: 47, 2019), which can be extended regardless of the collision model. The original cumulant collision model (Geier et al. in Comput Math Appl 70:507, 2015) causes a non-physical shape of droplets in pseudo-potential LBM because only the first-order central moments are considered in the forcing scheme. The improved cumulant collision model proposed in this paper applies the central moment forcing scheme to the original cumulant model to cover the high-order central moments. Several numerical simulations were carried out to validate the proposed model. First, the problem of a stationary liquid layer was solved, where the proposed model was demonstrated to be thermodynamically consistent. Second, the problem of a stationary droplet was solved, where the result agreed well with Laplace’s law. Third, the problem of a droplet impact on a liquid film was solved, where the crown radius agreed well with the analytical and numerical results available. Fourth, the simulation results carried out with the raw moment, central moment, and the proposed improved cumulant collision models were compared, as the liquid and vapor viscosities were gradually lowered. With all else being equal, only the lattice Boltzmann method with the proposed improved cumulant collision model was able to successfully simulate a density ratio of 720 and a Reynolds number of 8.7 × 10 4 . We show that a modification of the proof of our paper Coquille et al. (J. Stat. Phys. 172(5), 1210–1222 (2018)), in the spirit of Fröhlich and Pfister (Commun. Math. Phys. 81, 277–298 (1981)), shows delocalisation in the long-range Discrete Gaussian Chain, and generalisations thereof, for any decay power α > 2 and at all temperatures. The argument proceeds by contradiction: any shift-invariant and localised measure (in the L 1 sense), is a convex combination of ergodic localised measures. But the latter cannot exist: on one hand, by the ergodic theorem, the average of the field over growing boxes would be almost surely bounded ; on the other hand the measure would be absolutely continuous with respect to its height-shifted translates, as a simple relative entropy computation shows. This leads to a contradiction and answers, in a non-quantitative way, an open question stated in a recent paper of C. The discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation on Z d , d ≥ 1 is an example of a dispersive nonlinear wave system. Being a Hamiltonian system that conserves also the ℓ 2 (Z d) -norm, the well-posedness of the corresponding Cauchy problem follows for square-summable initial data. In this paper, we prove that the well-posedness continues to hold for initial data that can grow towards infinity, namely anything that has at most a certain power law growth far away from the origin. The growth condition is loose enough to guarantee that, at least in dimension d = 1 , initial data sampled from any reasonable equilibrium distribution of the defocusing DNLS satisfies it almost surely. In this paper, we are concerned with a class of conservative systems including asymmetric exclusion processes and zero-range processes as examples, where some particles are initially placed on N positions. A particle jumps from a position to another at a rate depending on the coordinates of these two positions and the number of particles on these two positions. We show that the hydrodynamic limit of our model is driven by a nonlinear function-valued ordinary differential equation which is consistent with a mean field analysis. Furthermore, in the case where the number of particles on all positions are bounded by K < + ∞ , we show that the fluctuation of our model is driven by a generalized Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. In this paper we establish almost-optimal stability estimates in quantum optimal transport pseudometrics for the semiclassical limit of the Hartree dynamics to the Vlasov–Poisson equation, in the regime where the solutions have bounded densities. We combine Golse and Paul's method from [Arch Ration Mech Anal 223:57–94, 2017], which uses a semiclassical version of the optimal transport distance and which was adapted to the case of the Coulomb and gravitational interactions by the second author in [J Stat Phys 177:20–60, 2019], with a new approach developed by the first author in [Arch Ration Mech Anal 244:27–50, 2022] to quantitatively improve stability estimates in kinetic theory. We introduce a simple zero-range process with constant rates and one fast rate for a particular occupation number, which diverges with the system size. Surprisingly, this minor modification induces a condensation transition in the thermodynamic limit, where the structure of the condensed phase depends on the scaling of the fast rate. We study this transition and its dependence on system parameters in detail on a rigorous level using size-biased sampling. This approach generalizes to any particle system with stationary product measures, and the techniques used in this paper provide a foundation for a more systematic understanding of condensing models with a non-trivial condensed phase. In this paper, we mainly focus on the set of non-dense points of a dynamical system. We study the distributional chaos in such set. As for a mixing expanding map or a transitive Anosov diffeomorphism on a compact connected manifold, we prove that DC1 chaos can occur in a zero topological entropy subset of the intersection of the set of recurrent points and the set of the non-dense points. Also, for such dynamical systems, strongly distributional chaos (which is stronger than DC1 chaos) can occur in a zero topological entropy subset of the set of non-recurrent points. Besides, when we divide the total space into six layers according to the different statistical structures, similar results can appear in every layer. Our results can also be applied to mixing subshifts of finite type, β -shifts, homoclinic classes and C 1 + α diffeomorphisms preserving a weakly mixing hyperbolic ergodic measure. In this article we investigate no-resonance conditions for quantum many body chaotic systems and random matrix models. No-resonance conditions are properties of the spectrum of a model, usually employed as a theoretical tool in the analysis of late time dynamics. The first order no-resonance condition holds when a spectrum is non-degenerate, while higher order no-resonance conditions imply sums of an equal number of energies are non-degenerate outside of permutations of the indices. This resonance condition is usually assumed to hold for quantum chaotic models. In this work we use several tests from random matrix theory to demonstrate that the statistics of sums of eigenvalues, that are of interest to due to the no-resonance conditions, have Poisson statistics, and lack level repulsion. This result is produced for both a quantum chaotic Hamiltonian as well as the Gaussian Unitary Ensemble and Gaussian Orthogonal Ensemble. This implies some models may have violations of the no-resonance condition or "near" violations. We finish the paper by generalizing important bounds in quantum equilibration theory to cases where the no-resonance conditions are violated, and to the case of random matrix models. In this paper, we prove the existence of a crystallization transition for a family of hard-core particle models on periodic graphs in dimension d ≥ 2 . We consider only models featuring a single species of particles, which in particular forbids the particles from rotation and reflection, and establish a criterion under which crystallization occurs at sufficiently high densities. The criterion is more general than that in Jauslin and Lebowitz (Commun Math Phys 364:655–682, 2018), as it allows models in which particles do not tile the space in the close-packing configurations, such as discrete hard-disk models. To prove crystallization, we prove that the pressure is analytic in the inverse of the fugacity for large enough complex fugacities, using Pirogov–Sinai theory. One of the main new tools used for this result is the definition of a local density, based on a discrete generalization of Voronoi cells. We illustrate the criterion by proving that it applies to three examples: staircase models and the radius 2.5 hard-disk model on Z 2 , and a heptacube model on Z 3 . [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Based on the theory of Carathéodory structure, this paper introduces several definitions of entropies for impulsive semi-flows on arbitrary subsets. We compare these definitions and establish relations of these definitions. We show an inverse variational principle between topological τ -entropy and measure theoretic τ -entropy. Random flights (also called run-and-tumble walks or transport processes) represent finite velocity random motions changing direction at any Poissonian time. These models in d-dimension, can be studied giving a general formulation of the problem valid at any spatial dimension. The aim of this paper is to extend this general analysis to time-fractional processes arising from a non-local generalization of the kinetic equations. The probabilistic interpretation of the solution of the time-fractional equations leads to a time-changed version of the original transport processes. The obtained results provide a clear picture of the role played by the time-fractional derivatives in this kind of random motions. They display an anomalous behavior and are useful to describe several complex systems arising in statistical physics and biology. In particular, we focus on the one-dimensional random flight, called telegraph process, studying the time-fractional version of the classical telegraph equation and providing a suitable interpretation of its stochastic solutions. It is generally believed (but not yet proved) that Ising spin glasses with nearest-neighbor interactions have a phase transition in three and higher dimensions to a low-temperature spin glass phase, but the nature of this phase remains controversial, especially whether it is characterized by multiple incongruent Gibbs states. Of particular relevance to this question is the behavior of the typical free energy difference restricted to a finite volume between two such putative Gibbs states, as well as the nature of the fluctuations of their free energy difference as the couplings within the volume vary. In this paper we investigate these free energy difference fluctuations by introducing a new kind of metastate which classifies Gibbs states through their edge overlap values with a reference Gibbs state randomly chosen from the support of the periodic boundary condition (PBC) metastate. We find that the free energy difference between any two incongruent pure states, regardless of the details of how they’re organized into mixed states within the PBC metastate, converges to a Gaussian (or Gaussian-like) distribution whose variance scales with the volume, proving a decades-old conjecture of Fisher and Huse. The motivation for this paper is the analysis of the fixed-density Ising lattice gas in the presence of a gravitational field. This is seen as a particular instance of an Ising model with a slowly varying magnetic field in the fixed magnetization ensemble. We first characterize the typical magnetization profiles in the regime in which the contribution of the magnetic field competes with the bulk energy term. We then discuss in more detail the particular case of a gravitational field and the arising interfacial phenomena. In particular, we identify the macroscopic profile and propose several conjectures concerning the interface appearing in the phase coexistence regime. The latter are supported by explicit computations in an effective model. Finally, we state some conjectures concerning equilibrium crystal shapes in the presence of a gravitational field, when the latter contributes to the energy only to surface order. This paper introduces the concepts of correlation entropy and local correlation entropy for free semigroup actions on compact metric space, and investigates their underlying properties. Thereafter, we extend certain classical findings on correlation entropy and local correlation entropy to the realm of free semigroup actions. Finally, we establish the interconnections between topological entropy, measure-theoretic entropy, correlation entropy, and local correlation entropy for free semigroup actions under different conditions. The generalized mean-field orthoplicial model is a mean-field model on a space of continuous spins on R n that are constrained to a scaled (n - 1) -dimensional ℓ 1 -sphere, equivalently a scaled (n - 1) -dimensional orthoplex, and interact through a general interaction function. The finite-volume Gibbs states of this model correspond to singular probability measures. In this paper, we use probabilistic methods to rigorously classify the infinite-volume Gibbs states of this model, and we show that they are convex combinations of product states. The predominant methods utilize the theory of large deviations, relative entropy, and equivalence of ensembles, and the key technical tools utilize exact integral representations of certain partition functions and locally uniform estimates of expectations of certain local observables. This paper studies spin glass to paramagnetic transition in the Spherical Sherrington–Kirkpatrick model with ferromagnetic Curie-Weiss interaction with coupling constant J and inverse temperature β . The disorder of the system is represented by a general Wigner matrix. We confirm a conjecture of Baik and Lee (Stat Phys 165(2):185–224, 2016; Ann Henri Poincaré 18(6):1867–1917, 2017), that the critical window of temperatures for this transition is β = 1 + b N - 1 / 3 log N with b ∈ R . The limiting distribution of the scaled free energy is Gaussian for negative b and a weighted linear combination of independent Gaussian and Tracy–Widom components for positive b. In the special case where the Wigner matrix is from the Gaussian Orthogonal or Unitary Ensemble, we describe the triple point transition between spin glass, paramagnetic, and ferromagnetic regimes in a critical window for (β , J) around the triple point (1, 1): the Tracy–Widom component is replaced by the one parameter family of deformations described by Bloemendal and Virág [9]. Resistance distance in electrical circuits measures how much a component or an entire circuit resists the flow of electric current. When dealing with intricate circuits, this term explicitly denotes the total resistance observed between any two points, which varies based on the configuration and resistance values of the components within the circuit. The Kirchhoff index is a metric used to quantify the mean resistance distance across all pairs of nodes in an electrical network. In graph theory, these networks are depicted as graphs with nodes representing electrical components and edges symbolizing the connecting wires. The resistance distance between any two nodes is calculated as if the graph were an electrical circuit, with each edge functioning as a resistor. We focus on a particular type of graph known as a cacti graph, denoted by C (n , s) , which features interconnected cycles that share a single common vertex, with n representing the total number of nodes and s the number of cycles. In this paper, we investigate the impact of bond-dilution disorder on the critical behavior of the stochastic SIR model. Monte Carlo simulations were conducted using square lattices with first- and second-nearest neighbor interactions. Quenched bond-diluted lattice disorder was introduced into the systems, allowing them to evolve over time. By employing percolation theory and finite-size scaling analysis, we estimate both the critical threshold and leading critical exponent ratios of the model for different bond-dilution rates (p). An examination of the average size of the percolating cluster and the size distribution of non-percolating clusters of recovered individuals was performed to ascertain the universality class of the model. The simulation results strongly indicate that the present model belongs to a new universality class distinct from that of 2D dynamical percolation, depending on the specific p value under consideration. The justification of hydrodynamic limits in non-convex domains has long been an open problem due to the singularity at the grazing set. In this paper, we investigate the unsteady neutron transport equation in a general bounded domain with the in-flow, diffuse-reflection, or specular-reflection boundary condition. Using a novel kernel estimate, we demonstrate the optimal L 2 diffusive limit in the presence of both initial and boundary layers. Previously, this result was only proved for convex domains when the time variable is involved. Our approach is highly robust, making it applicable to all basic types of physical boundary conditions. In this paper, we investigate the global clustering coefficient (a.k.a transitivity) and clique number of graphs generated by a preferential attachment random graph model with an additional feature of allowing edge connections between existing vertices. Specifically, at each time step t, either a new vertex is added with probability f(t), or an edge is added between two existing vertices with probability 1 - f (t) . We establish concentration inequalities for the global clustering and clique number of the resulting graphs under the assumption that f(t) is a regularly varying function at infinity with index of regular variation - γ , where γ ∈ [ 0 , 1) . Unlike the single species gases, the transport coefficients such as Fick, Soret, Dufour coefficients arise in the hydrodynamic limit of multi-species gas mixtures. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, no multi-component relaxational models is reported that produces all these values correctly. In this paper, we establish the existence of unique stationary mild solutions to the BGK models for gas mixtures which produces the correct Fick coefficients in the Navier–Stokes limit for inert gases (Brull in Eur J Mech B 33:74–86, 2012), and for reactive gases (Brull and Schneider in Commun Math Sci 12(7):1199–1223, 2014) in a unified manner. Local quantum Bernoulli noises (LQBNs) is a family of local annihilation operators and local creation operators acting on Bernoulli functions. In this paper, based on LQBNs, we define the local quantum joint entropy and local quantum coherence information. And we find local quantum entropy has a surprising property, which is not satisfies the additivity for tensor product state. Unlike the case for classical particles, the literature on BGK type models for relativistic gas mixture is extremely limited. There are a few results in which such relativistic BGK models for gas mixture are employed to compute transport coefficients. However, to the best knowledge of authors, relativistic BGK models for gas mixtures with complete presentation of the relaxation operators are missing in the literature. In this paper, we fill this gap by suggesting a BGK model for relativistic gas mixtures for which the existence of each equilibrium coefficients in the relaxation operator is rigorously guaranteed in a way that all the essential physical properties are satisfied such as the conservation laws, the H-theorem, the capturing of the correct equilibrium state, the indifferentiability principle, and the recovery of the classical BGK model in the Newtonian limit. Granular gases demand models capable of capturing their distinct characteristics. The widely employed inelastic hard-sphere model (IHSM) introduces complexities that are compounded when incorporating realistic features like surface roughness and rotational degrees of freedom, resulting in the more intricate inelastic rough hard-sphere model (IRHSM). This paper focuses on the inelastic rough Maxwell model (IRMM), presenting a more tractable alternative to the IRHSM and enabling exact solutions. Building on the foundation of the inelastic Maxwell model (IMM) applied to granular gases, the IRMM extends the mathematical representation to encompass surface roughness and rotational degrees of freedom. The primary objective is to provide exact expressions for the Navier–Stokes–Fourier transport coefficients within the IRMM, including the shear and bulk viscosities, the thermal and diffusive heat conductivities, and the cooling-rate transport coefficient. In contrast to earlier approximations in the IRHSM, our study unveils inherent couplings, such as shear viscosity to spin viscosity and heat conductivities to counterparts associated with a torque-vorticity vector. These exact findings provide valuable insights into refining the Sonine approximation applied to the IRHSM, contributing to a deeper understanding of the transport properties in granular gases with realistic features. This paper develops an averaging approach on macroscopic scales to derive Smoluchowski–Kramers approximation for a Langevin equation with state dependent friction in d-dimensional space. This paper develops approximate message passing algorithms to optimize multi-species spherical spin glasses. We first show how to efficiently achieve the algorithmic threshold energy identified in our companion work (Huang and Sellke in arXiv preprint, 2023. ), thus confirming that the Lipschitz hardness result proved therein is tight. Next we give two generalized algorithms which produce multiple outputs and show all of them are approximate critical points. Namely, in an r-species model we construct 2 r approximate critical points when the external field is stronger than a “topological trivialization" phase boundary, and exponentially many such points in the complementary regime. We also compute the local behavior of the Hamiltonian around each. This paper deals with the problem of finding the Fokker Planck Equation (FPE) for the single-time probability density function (PDF) that optimally approximates the single-time PDF of a 1-D Stochastic Differential Equation (SDE) with Gaussian correlated noise. In this context, we tackle two main tasks. First, we consider the case of weak noise and in this framework we give a formal ground to the effective correction, introduced elsewhere (Bianucci and Mannella in J Phys Commun 4(10):105019, 2020, ), to the Best Fokker Planck Equation (a standard “Born-Oppenheimer” result), also covering the more general cases of multiplicative SDE. Second, we consider the FPE obtained by using the Local Linearization Approach (LLA), and we show that a generalized cumulant approach allows an understanding of why the LLA FPE performs so well, even for noises with long (but finite) time scales and large intensities. This paper is concerned with the stochastic reaction-diffusion lattice systems defined on the entire set with both locally Lipschitz nonlinear drift and diffusion terms. The central limit theorem is derived for such infinite-dimensional stochastic systems. Moreover, the moderate deviation principle of solution processes is also established by the weak convergence method based on the variational representation of positive functionals of Brownian motion. From a unified vision of vector valued solutions in weighted Banach spaces, this paper establishes the existence and uniqueness for space homogeneous Boltzmann bi-linear systems with conservative collisional forms arising in complex gas dynamical structures. This broader vision is directly applied to dilute multi-component gas mixtures composed of both monatomic and polyatomic gases. Such models can be viewed as extensions of scalar Boltzmann binary elastic flows, as much as monatomic gas mixtures with disparate masses and single polyatomic gases, providing a unified approach for vector valued solutions in weighted Banach spaces. Novel aspects of this work include developing the extension of a general ODE theory in vector valued weighted Banach spaces, precise lower bounds for the collision frequency in terms of the weighted Banach norm, energy identities, angular or compact manifold averaging lemmas which provide coerciveness resulting into global in time stability, a new combinatorics estimate for p-binomial forms producing sharper estimates for the k-moments of bi-linear collisional forms. These techniques enable the Cauchy problem improvement that resolves the model with initial data corresponding to strictly positive and bounded initial vector valued mass and total energy, in addition to only a 2 + moment determined by the hard potential rates discrepancy, a result comparable in generality to the classical Cauchy theory of the scalar homogeneous Boltzmann equation. We consider the simple random walk (or Pólya walk) on the one-dimensional lattice subject to stochastic resetting to the origin with probability r at each time step. The focus is on the joint statistics of the numbers N t × of spontaneous returns of the walker to the origin and N t ∙ of resetting events up to some observation time t. These numbers are extensive in time in a strong sense: all their joint cumulants grow linearly in t, with explicitly computable amplitudes, and their fluctuations are described by a smooth bivariate large deviation function. A non-trivial crossover phenomenon takes place in the regime of weak resetting and late times. Remarkably, the time intervals between spontaneous returns to the origin of the reset random walk form a renewal process described in terms of a single 'dressed' probability distribution. These time intervals are probabilistic copies of the first one, the 'dressed' first-passage time.
