Purpose: Our study aimed to make a bibliometric analysis on Sjögren's syndrome-related dry eye disease (SS-DED), explore its potential research hotspots, and provide critical information for future research interest and undeveloped topics in this field, which can benefit clinicians and researchers., Methods: We extracted all publications relating to SS-DED from 2003 to 2022 from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Original articles and reviews in English were included. The contributions of different countries, institutions, journals, and authors were compared, and the research hotspots were visualized for network analysis through GraphPad Prism, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer., Results: We enrolled a total of 987 publications. The United States contributed the most publications (281, 28.5%), followed by China (157, 15.9%) and Japan (80, 8.11%). Publications from the United States were cited more frequently (13,060 citations), with the highest H-index of 57. China ranked second in the total number of publications, the papers were not cited frequently (3790 citations), and the H-index ranked second (H-index = 31). PLoS One (32, 3.24%) published the most papers, and the University of California system had the highest number of publications (45, 4.56%). Bootsma H from the Netherlands published the most papers. The trend of research hotspots evolved mainly from the basic manifestation to pathogenesis and treatment of SS-DED and paid more attention to distinguishing SS-DED from that dry eye disease without SS., Conclusions: Based on the bibliometric, co-citation, and network analyses in this study, we obtained the annual publications and citations, the growth trends of publications, the productivity of countries, organizations, journals, and authors, high-quality publications, and the emerging hotspots of SS-DED, which may open new doors for promising research directions., (© 2023. Background: Dry eye disease (DED) is a common tear film disorder caused by decreased tear production or increased tear evaporation. The increased use of computers in the workplace has brought about the development of ocular health concerns, including dry eye disease. Therefore, this study was designed to determine the prevalence of DED associated with computer work and recommend preventing or reducing its development. This study investigated the prevalence of DED among IT students in Dera Ghazi Khan. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 327 undergraduate students of the IT department in the district of Dera Ghazi khan over 5 months from September 2021 to January 2022. DED was assessed subjectively with Ocular Surface Disease Index. Data were analysed using SPSS version 21. The quantitative analysis was presented as mean and standard deviation, and qualitative variables were introduced in frequency and percentages. The chi-square test (Fisher’s exact test) was used to study the significance of associations between dependent and independent variables. Results: The mean age of the participants was 20.25 ± 1.305 years (range 17–25). The prevalence of DED among computer programmers was 47.7%. This study showed that gender (p = 0.31), contact lens usage (p = 0.64), and duration of time spent on computer display units (p = 0.47) were not significant determinants of DED among computer programmers. Conclusion: DED is prevalent among IT students, along with different symptoms. However, further studies are required to adequately measure the prevalence of DED during longer exposure time to computer screens and explore environmental risk factors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To investigate dry eye disease (DED) in newly diagnosed patients with depressive disorder (MDD). Method: This observational study included 48 MDD patients in Group 1 and 20 healthy controls in Group 2. Psychiatric and ophthalmic examinations, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI), Schirmer's test, tear breakup time (TBUT), Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), and ocular staining were conducted. The results were statistically compared. Results: The participants, comprising 32 men and 36 women, had a mean age of 31.08 ± 11.7 years (18–64 years). Group 1 had a mean BDI score of 30.87 ± 8.56, while Group 2 had a score of 1.3 ± 1.3 (p < 0.001). In Group 1, 28 patients were diagnosed with DED, whereas in Group 2, six subjects were diagnosed with DED. The mean Schirmer's results in Group 1 and Group 2 were (mm/5 min) 10.87 ± 2.44 and 12.70 ± 2.3, respectively, and were significantly lower in Group 1 (p < 0.001). The mean OSDI scores in Group 1 (34.95 ± 15.8) were significantly higher compared to Group 2 (3.2 ± 3.1) (p < 0.001). There was no significant difference in mean TBUT between Group 1 (9.41 ± 2.6 s) and Group 2 (9.8 ± 0.61 s) (p > 0.05). Significant correlations were found between BDI scores and Schirmer's results as well as OSDI scores (p < 0.05, p = 0.02, respectively). No statistically significant correlations were found between BDI scores and TBUT or MGD (p > 0.05). Conclusion: DED was found to be more prevalent in the MDD group. The severity of MDD and DED, as indicated by BDI, OSDI, and Schirmer's results, was found to be correlated. It was observed that patients with higher depression scores had more severe dry eye. Purpose: Dry eye disease (DED) is a prevalent ocular surface disease that is conventionally characterized by tear film hyperosmolarity and instability. This review presents a summarized classification of DED, followed by a comprehensive discussion of the most recent topical and systemic medications and clinical recommendations for selecting the most appropriate option for each patient. Methods: An extensive literature search was conducted on electronic databases, such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, using keywords including “dry eye syndrome,” “ocular surface disease,” “medical management,” “artificial tears,” “topical immunomodulators,” and “meibomian gland dysfunction.” Results: The underlying reasons for DED can range from insufficient aqueous tear production to increased tear evaporation. Recent literature has provided a more in-depth understanding of the pathophysiology of DED by examining the tear film's lipid, aqueous, and mucin layers. However, despite these advancements, medical management of patients with symptomatic DED has not fully reflected this modernized knowledge of its pathophysiology. Conclusion: To develop a rationalized strategy for treating DED, it is crucial to have updated knowledge of therapeutic options, their mechanisms of actions, and indications based on the DED type and underlying causes. Purpose: The present study aims to evaluate the optic nerve, macula, and choroidal changes in both rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and primary Sjögren’s syndrome (SjS) patients, and to compare these findings with age-matched healthy volunteers. Methods: This study included 46 RA patients, 33 primary SjS patients, and 37 age-matched healthy volunteers. All of the patients underwent a thorough ophthalmological examination, during which measurements of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), ganglion cell layer(GCL), and subfoveal choroidal thickness (CT) were taken using OCT (optical coherence tomography). The measurements taken from the right eye of each patient were used to compare among the groups. Results: RNFL thickness in superior quadrant was found to be statistically significantly thinner in the eyes with RA when compared to the control group (p = 0.022). In the nasal quadrant, the RNFL thickness was significantly thinner in patients with primary SjS compared to healthy individuals (p = 0.036). Also, the temporal quadrant RNFL was significantly thinner in RA patients than in the primary SjS patients (p = 0.033). GCL thickness was observed to be thinner in all quadrants of both RA and primary SjS groups compared to the control group. However, the difference was not found to be statistically significant. Subfoveal CT was observed to be thicker in RA and SjS groups compared to the control group, but this difference was also not statistically significant. Conclusion: Systemic autoimmune diseases like RA and primary SjS can lead to a decrease in RNLF and GCL thickness, which can impair visual acuity even in the absence of ocular symptoms. Purpose: This study was conducted to compare the ocular surface temperature in keratoconus eyes with that in normal eyes. Methods: A total of 27 participants were enrolled, with 10 and 17 participants in the keratoconus and control groups, respectively. Participants in the control group underwent an ophthalmic slit lamp examination and ocular thermography, while an additional corneal tomography was performed for those in the keratoconus group. Results: For patients with keratoconus, the mean upper eyelid temperature (UET) was 32.36 ± 1.02 °C, inner canthus temperature (ICT) was 34.25 ± 0.83 °C, outer canthus temperature (OCT) was 33.62 ± 0.96 °C, initial central corneal temperature (initial CCT) was 33.04 ± 1.03 °C, sixth-second CCT (6 s-CCT) was 32.67 ± 1.19 °C, and the mean change in CCT measured within 6 s (change in CCT within 6 s) was 0.36 ± 0.26 °C. For controls, the values for UET, ICT, OCT, initial CCT, 6 s-CCT, and change in CCT within 6 s were 32.35 ± 1.13 °C, 34.14 ± 0.91 °C, 33.51 ± 1.02 °C, 33.22 ± 1.01 °C, 32.99 ± 1.01 °C, and 0.22 ± 0.17 °C, respectively. Except for the change in CCT within 6 s (p = 0.022), no significant differences were observed in UET (p = 0.973), ICT (p = 0.659), OCT (p = 0.697), initial CCT (p = 0.556) or 6 s-CCT (p = 0.310) between the two groups. Conclusion: The keratoconus eyes showed faster changes in CCT and evaporation of tear film after opening the eyes. Therefore, the keratoconus eyes had a higher incidence of dry eye conditions. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the function of tear film with Oculus Keratograph 5M (Oculus K5M) and IDRA ocular surface analyser (IDRA), analyse their consistency and explore the potential of IDRA in the diagnosis of dry eye disease (DED)., Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 36 participants (DED group, 14 eyes; non-DED group, 22 eyes). The parameters of tear film function, including the first noninvasive breakup time (fNIBUT), average NIBUT (aNIBUT), tear meniscus height (TMH), lipid layer thickness (LLT), lipid layer colour (LLC), lipid layer uniformity (LLU), morphology of meibomian glands (MGs) and MG loss, were obtained with Oculus K5M and IDRA. The consistency of parameter measurements between the two devices was evaluated., Results: All the parameters except LLT, which can be measured only by IDRA, were not significantly different between the two instruments in DED eyes. However, IDRA reported lower values of fNIBUT, aNIBUT and TMH as well as higher MG loss scores in non-DED eyes than Oculus K5M did (p < 0.001, < 0.001, = 0.002, and = 0.002, respectively). Further regression analysis revealed that aNIBUT and LLT measured by IDRA were the optimal parameters for diagnosing DED (OR = 0.567 and 0.845, p = 0.057 and 0.043, respectively), and their combination had the strongest diagnostic potential (AUC = 0.841, sensitivity = 85.7%, and specificity = 77.3%)., Conclusion: As a user-friendly noninvasive device, the tear film function parameters measured by IDRA were highly consistent with those measured by Oculus K5M in DED patients. Background/objectives: To evaluate the effect of topical cyclosporine A (CsA) 0.05% in patients with pterygium surgery using fibrin glue (FG)., Subjects/methods: Patients with primary nasal pterygium were retrospectically analyzed and categorized into two groups: Group 1 with 41 eyes from 38 patients as a control group and group 2 with 39 eyes from 36 patients who received topical CsA twice a day for 6 months. Patients were assessed for recurrence rate, tear film parameters, side effects, and complications at postoperative intervals of 1-7 days; 1st, 3rd, 6th and 12th months. The follow-up period was 1 year., Results: The two groups were age (p = 0.934) and sex (p = 0.996) matched. CsA drop was discontinued in one patient due to burning sensation and conjunctival hyperemia after 1 week. There was no statistically significant difference between the mean preoperative and postoperative 1st year Schirmer I and tear break-up time (TBUT) values in group 1 (p = 0.136; p = 0.069). Although the difference between the mean preoperative and postoperative 1st year TBUT values in group 2 was not statistically different (p = 0.249), Schirmer I results were higher postoperatively (p = 0.003). There was no statistically significant difference between preoperative Schirmer (p = 0.496), postoperative Schirmer (p = 0.661), preoperative TBUT (p = 0.240) and postoperative TBUT (p = 0.238) results of the two groups. Recurrence was observed in only one patient from group 1., Conclusion: No recurrent pterygium cases were observed in group 2. Purpose: Exploring the prevalence of dry eye (DE) and the changes of tear film stability in patients with primary acquired obstruction of the nasolacrimal duct (PANDO)., Methods: In this cross-sectional, observational study, 370 eyes in 223 patients with PANDO were assessed. The ocular surface disease index (OSDI) was used to evaluate ocular surface symptoms, and the Keratograph 5M non-invasive ocular surface analyser was used to assess ocular surface parameters. According to the TFOS DEWS II criteria, patients with OSDI ≥ 13 and NIKBUT < 10 s were diagnosed with DE., Results: Of the 223 PANDO patients, 65 (29.1%) met the diagnostic criteria for DE. Compared with patients without DE, PANDO patients with DE were significantly older (p < 0.001), had a longer duration of epiphora (p = 0.023), and more likely to have a positive regurgitation on pressure over the lacrimal sac (ROPLAS) sign (p = 0.003). Multifactorial analysis showed that older age, positive ROPLAS and hypertension were significant independent predictors of DE (p < 0.05). Among the 147 unilateral PANDO patients without DE, the TMH, NIKBUT-first, NIKBUT-average and bulbar erythema scores were significantly higher in the PANDO sides., Conclusions: This study illustrated the prevalence of DE in PANDO patients was 29.1% and DE is more likely to occur in those who are older, have hypertension and are positive for ROPLAS. Purpose: Evaluate the efficacy and safety of LipiFlow® thermal pulsation treatment system compared with lid massage combined warm compress in Chinese patients with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). Methods: Patients (n = 100 eyes, 50 subjects) diagnosed with MGD were recruited for this prospective, randomized, 3-month clinical trial. In Lipiflow group, patients (n = 50 eyes) received a single LipiFlow® thermal pulsation system treatment. In warm compress group, patients (n = 50 eyes) underwent warm compress daily for two weeks after an initial manual lid massage. Patients' symptoms were evaluated using Standard Patient Evaluation for Eye Dryness (SPEED) questionnaire. Safety parameters included best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP) and objective parameters including meibomian glands yielding lipid secretion (MGYLS) number, meibomian glands secretion (MGS) score, lipid layer thickness (LLT), tear-film breakup time (TBUT), corneal fluorescein staining (CFS) were measured and presented from baseline and to 3 months post-treatment. Results: Baseline parameters in both groups were comparable (p > 0.05). SPEED score and TBUT improved in two groups from baseline to 3 months. MGYLS number, MGS score, LLT improved in LipiFlow group and these improvements were maintained with no significant regression at 3 months. CFS showed significant improvement in warm compress group at 1 month compared with LipiFlow group. Moreover, the correlation analysis indicated LLT was positively correlated with TBUT, MGS score, and MGYLS number. Conclusion: A single 12-min LipiFlow treatment is an effective therapy for MGD patients and can achieve improvements in symptoms alleviation and meibomian gland lipid secretion function lasting for at least 3 months. Purpose: Dermoscopy is a complementary examination of skin lesions, which allows the observation of anatomical features invisible to the naked eye. Its use increases the diagnostic accuracy of skin tumors. The development of polarized dermoscopy allowed the observation of deeper skin structures, without the need of skin contact. The purpose of this study was to present a low-cost prototype through the adaptation of polarized lenses on a slit lamp in order to assess anatomical aspects invisible to conventional biomicroscopy in eyelid lesions. Methods: Twenty two eyelid lesions were documented using a prototype, compound of two polarizing filters, orthogonal to each other, adapted to a slit lamp with an integrated digital camera. Images of the eyelid lesions were also obtained with non-polarized biomicroscopy and with a portable dermatoscope, and were compared regarding anatomical aspects. Results: Anatomical structures imperceptible to conventional ophthalmic examination were evidenced using the polarized lenses, demonstrating that this tool can be useful to the ophthalmologist when assessing eyelid lesions. We have obtained high-quality images of the lesions. The slit lamp provided higher magnification, better focus control and easier assessment of eyelid lesions than the portable dermatoscope. Conclusion: Ophthalmologists already use the slit lamp in their practice. The adaptation of polarized lenses to this device is a cost-effective, fast and non-invasive method that permits to improve the diagnostic accuracy of eyelid lesions, evidencing anatomical structures imperceptible to conventional ophthalmic examination. Purpose: Prostaglandin analogs (PGAs) are first-line treatments for ocular hypertension (OHT) and open-angle glaucoma (OAG). However, frequent side effects and high costs hinder patient's compliance resulting in disease progression. Evidence suggests selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) may be considered a first-line treatment for OHT and OAG due to its safety profile, minor side effects, and reduced costs. Considering that PGAs and SLT share action mechanisms, it is hypothesized that previous PGA therapy may affect subsequent SLT efficacy. Therefore, we analyzed if PGAs reduce SLT efficacy. Methods: An evidence-based review was performed to assess the safety and efficacy of SLT in patients previously treated with PGAs. For this purpose, we performed an extensive literature search using the National Library of Medicine's PubMed and Google Scholar database for all English language articles published until May 2021. Results: There is evidence of non-superiority of PGAs therapy versus SLT for OHT and OAG. A multicenter, randomized, observer-masked clinical trial (RCT) of untreated OHT and OAG patients concluded that SLT should be offered as the first-line treatment for these patients. This study was supported by a meta-analysis of RCTs, comparing SLT efficacy versus antiglaucoma drugs only, with the advantage of an SLT lower rate of adverse effects. Conclusions: Cost-effectiveness, patient compliance, and antiglaucoma drugs' side effects, including higher surgical failure, favor consideration of SLT as first-line therapy for OAG and OHT. Furthermore, SLT efficacy does not seem to be affected by prior PGA administration; however, larger cohort, comparative, multicenter RCTs are necessary to answer this question. Purpose: To evaluate preoperatively dry eye disease (DED) in patients with pathological Tear Break Up Time (TBUT), utilising subjective Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) with its subcategories and objective Keratograph 5M characteristics. Methods: Fifty-four cataract patients were included in this prospective study having a screening slit lamp TBUT of less than 10 s and more or equal to 5 s. Subjective evaluation of DED was performed with OSDI questionnaire and objective evaluation with Keratograph 5M. Tear Meniscus Height (TMH), bulbar and limbal redness and meibography grade were evaluated. Further analysis of OSDI subcategories, Visual Function Related (VFR), Ocular Symptoms related (OS) and Environmental Triggered (ET), was performed with linear and logistic multivariate regression models. Age, gender and logMAR visual acuity (VA) were also included in our models. Results: Following the initial TBUT screening we identified 27(50%) normal and 27(50%) dry eye patients, using OSDI questionnaire. There was no statistical difference in TMH (p = 0.64), bulbar redness (p = 0.54), limbal redness (p = 0.72) and meibography grade (p = 0.25), between normal and dry eye OSDI group. In our regression analysis, average logMAR VA was highly associated with a higher total OSDI score (p < 0.001) and with a higher OSDI-VFR score (p < 0.001). Female gender was associated with a higher OSDI-ET score (p = 0.03). Multivariate logistic regression models were performed by sorting patients into 2 categories of normal and dry eye group according to their total OSDI,OSDI-VRF,OSDI-OS and OSDI-ET score. An increase in logMAR VA increased the odds of having abnormal total OSDI score (p = 0.007) and OSDI-VFR score (p = 0.006). Females had increased odds of having abnormal OSDI-ET score (p = 0.044). Conclusions: Clinicians should be aware of OSDI limitations when screening cataract patients for dry eyes, as there is high correlation with VA. Female patients were more susceptible to environmental factors. Keratograph results should be interpreted with caution when they are evaluated in conjunction with OSDI during preoperative assessment of DED in cataract patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To evaluate the use of meibography as an objective measure of the effects of incision & curettage (I&C) chalazion surgery on meibomian gland loss and morphology as well as dry eye syndrome. Methods: This prospective, interventional clinical study included adult patients with a primary chalazion which persisted despite conservative treatment. All patients underwent I&C surgery. The following parameters were compared both preoperatively and 21 days postoperatively: meibography, tear breakup time (TBUT), Schirmer test, meibum expression, tear meniscus height, meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) grading, and the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI). Results: Thirty eyelids were enrolled in the study. The mean age ± SD was 40.56 ± 13.94 years. Meibography demonstrated a significant decrease in meibomian gland loss (P = 0.00) and improvement in morphology. The most common meibomian gland pathology preoperatively noted was morphological signs of atrophy that included fluffy areas and tortuous glands. Both of these findings improved postoperatively (P = 0.04 and P = 0.02, respectively). There were a significant change in MGD grading and a significant decrease in meibum expression score postoperatively (P = 0.00). TBUT and tear meniscus height also improved significantly (P = 0.00 and P = 0.003, respectively). The OSDI score improved significantly as well (P = 0.00). Conclusion: While incision and drainage surgery is a time-honored, standard treatment for chalazion, meibography now demonstrates a global improvement in the meibomian glands, not just the ones involved with the chalazion. In addition to the improvements in the clinical and dry eye syndrome parameters improvements, meibography findings demonstrate that early I&C surgery restores the meibomian glands architecture significantly. Purpose: To evaluate the impact of prolonged surgical face mask wearing on dry eye symptoms and tear film break-up time (T-BUT) in health care professionals. Materials and methods: A total of 33 health care professionals were included in the present cross sectional prospective study. In addition to a complete ophthalmological examination T-BUT measurements were performed twice for all participants in the morning (8 am) and in the afternoon (5 pm). The subjects also filled-in the ocular surface disease index (OSDI) questionnaire twice, before and after wearing the face mask, on the same day. Results: Sixty-six eyes of 33 participants (17 female and 16 male) were evaluated. The mean age was 33.6 ± 7.55 (24–48) years and mean total duration with mask on between the two evaluations was 514 ± 12.5 (495–526) minutes. The mean T-BUT was 9.3 ± 1.0 (3–16) seconds at 8 am and 8.3 ± 1.5 (3–14) seconds at 5 pm (p = 0.01). The mean OSDI score was 20.1 ± 8.3 (0–68.75) at 8 am and 27.4 ± 10.4 (0–81.25) at 5 pm (p < 0.01). Conclusion: Use of a surgical mask for the entire work-day was seen to worsen T-BUT and increase dry eye symptoms in healthy individuals. Ophthalmologists should be aware of the possibility of worsening of dry eye symptoms with the prolonged use of surgical face masks and consider modifications if necessary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To observe the changes of the ocular surface and meibomian glands by non-contact meibography in patients with type 1 diabetic children. Methods: A total of forty-three patients with type 1 diabetic children and 43 age-matched healthy subjects were included in the study. The ocular surface disease index (OSDI) questionnaire, invasive tear film break-up time (TF-BUT), fluorescein staining of the ocular surface and Schirmer II test were performed for all participants. Ocular surface and lid margins were evaluated by slit lamp. Non-contact meibography was performed with the Phoenix-Meibography module in Sirius corneal topographic device. Results: Both groups consisted of 25 (58.1%) female and 18 (41.9%) male children and the mean age was 14.4 ± 2.5 years. In the T1DM group, the mean disease duration was 6.8 ± 3.1 years. The mean TF-BUT (p = 0.002) and Schirmer II test (p = 0.007) measurements were lower in the diabetic group than those of in controls. Total eyelid score (p = 0.027) and meibomian gland (MG) secretion score (p = 0.007) were significantly high in diabetic children. MG area loss was also significantly high in both lower and upper eyelid (p < 0.001). In morphological analyses of meibomian glands thinning, shortening and presence of ghost areas (p = 0.05, p = 0.027 and p = 0.000, respectively) were more common in the diabetic group. There was no correlation between both lower and upper eyelid meiboscores and disease duration (p = 0.51 and p = 0.61), BMI (p = 0.08 and p = 0.51), serum HbA1c level (p = 0.06 and p = 0.49) and IGF-1 SDS (p = 0.38 and p = 0.68). Conclusion: The study revealed that the MG loss area increases and morphological alterations of meibomian glands occur in type 1 diabetic children. Disease duration and metabolic control of diabetes do not affect meibography measurements. Purpose: Evaluate the efficacy and safety of LipiFlow ® thermal pulsation treatment system compared with lid massage combined warm compress in Chinese patients with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)., Methods: Patients (n = 100 eyes, 50 subjects) diagnosed with MGD were recruited for this prospective, randomized, 3-month clinical trial. In Lipiflow group, patients (n = 50 eyes) received a single LipiFlow ® thermal pulsation system treatment. In warm compress group, patients (n = 50 eyes) underwent warm compress daily for two weeks after an initial manual lid massage. Patients' symptoms were evaluated using Standard Patient Evaluation for Eye Dryness (SPEED) questionnaire. Safety parameters included best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP) and objective parameters including meibomian glands yielding lipid secretion (MGYLS) number, meibomian glands secretion (MGS) score, lipid layer thickness (LLT), tear-film breakup time (TBUT), corneal fluorescein staining (CFS) were measured and presented from baseline and to 3 months post-treatment., Results: Baseline parameters in both groups were comparable (p > 0.05). SPEED score and TBUT improved in two groups from baseline to 3 months. MGYLS number, MGS score, LLT improved in LipiFlow group and these improvements were maintained with no significant regression at 3 months. CFS showed significant improvement in warm compress group at 1 month compared with LipiFlow group. Moreover, the correlation analysis indicated LLT was positively correlated with TBUT, MGS score, and MGYLS number., Conclusion: A single 12-min LipiFlow treatment is an effective therapy for MGD patients and can achieve improvements in symptoms alleviation and meibomian gland lipid secretion function lasting for at least 3 months., (© 2022.
