Gert Biesta makes a distinction on three dimensions when he discussed the purposes of lifelong learning, the economical dimension, the democratic dimension, and the personal dimension. In this paper I would like to emphasize on the importance of democratic dimension. But it is necessary to explore some important questions. What kind of content about democracy that we would like to implement through adult education? What is the educational approach to implementing democracy? Generally speaking, democracy is related to concepts and ideas such as inclusion, consensus through deliberation, active citizenship. However, they have some problems in relation to democracy. The aim of this paper is to elucidate these problems. If we do not consider these issues, we could not adequately evaluate our education praxis, but staying on inconsequential discussion without challenging the supremacy of economy.
