The last decade has brought about some radical changes: new ways of broadcasting the signal have been introduced, as well as new protocols containing new specifications about audio/video quality. Posljednje desetljeće donijelo je mnoge radikalne promijene: nove načine prijenosa signala, kao i nove protokole vezano za kvalitetu zvuka/slike. Samo jedan sat nakon prikazivanja na televiziji, važni događaji iz lokalne sredine, putem p2p mreža postaju dostupni cijelome svijetu

Pojava globalne komunikacije, Interneta, mreže i umreženog društva uvjetovala je preobrazbu strukture temeljne sociološke kategorije - ljudskog rada. Unutar nove društvene-mrežne konfiguracije kao ključne infrastrukture koja omogućava razmjenu informacija i znanja, nailazimo na oblike rada koji posjeduju vlastitu, bitno drugačiju dinamiku i zakonitost, čija je glavna odlika mobilnost. Uz nove oblike rada vezuju se visoko racionalizirana, nebirokratizirana radna mjesta i privremena zaposlenost. Teleworking – rad na daljinu, te globalni virtualni timovi ilustracija su rada u virtualnom okruženju čije su glavne značajke fleksibilnost, geografska disperziranost i veća konkurentnost. Uz pozitivne sociokulturološke aspekte širenja mreže koji podrazumijevaju nove obrasce društvene interakcije, autorice ističu i negativne posljedice u vidu društvene izolacije, «sloma komunikacije» i obiteljskog života. U tom kontekstu, buduća istraživanja i dalje će obuhvaćati nedovoljno istražne koncepte mobilnosti, prostornu i vremensku fleksibilnost i njihove implikacije na oblike rada., The appearance of global communication, Internet, network and network society caused the structure transformation in one of the basic sociological category- human work. Within new society – network configuration as a key of the infrastructure that allows exchanging information and knowledge, we can find forms of work which posses their own, essential and different dynamics, structure and validity with the key feature known as mobility. New forms of work include the high rational, non-birocratic working places and temporary employment. Teleworking- as a work on distance and global virtual teams are the illustrations of work in virtual space characterized by flexibility, geographical dispersion and higher competition. Together with the positive socio cultural aspects of expanding the network referring to the new pattern of social interaction, the authors’ stress a negative consequence such as social isolation, “collapse of communication” and family life. In that context, the future investigations will continue with the researches of insufficiently explored concept of mobility, space and temporal flexibility, and their implications on the forms of work.

U radu se izlaže opći pregled i neke karakteristike, te aktivnosti Referalnog centra (RC), Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Do osnivanja RC-a je došlo zbog potrebe koordiniranja, integriranja i kompletiranja informacija i komunikacijskih aktivnosti i institucija, i to ne samo u okviru Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, već u cijeloj Hrvatskoj. U tom nastojanju, struktura RC-a zahvaća mnogo šire područje od informacijskih službi i informacijskih izvora. Unutar poglavlja u radu, obrađuje se: (1) Značaj RC-a; (2) Karakteristike i osobine RC-a; (3) Rc kao baza za integraciju informacijskih službi; (4) Jedinice RC-a; (5) Funkcionalna mreža RC-a; (6) Zajednica interesa i korisnika RC-a; (7) Lokacija RC-a., The outline and some features of the activities of the Referral Center (RC) of the University of Zagreb was given. The establishment of RC has been taken as the expression of the need to coordinate, integrate, and complete a number of information and communication activities and institutions not only within the frame of University of Zagreb, but also of Croatia. In this endeavor the structure of RC encompase a much wider scope than the information service about information sources. Under subheadings of the paper are given: (1) Significance of the RC; (2) Character and the features of RC; (3) RC as a basis for integration of information services; (4) Units of RC; (5) Functional network of RC; (6) Community of interests and users of RC; (7) Location of RC.
