Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a common cause of papilledema in young females and causes headache with transient visual loss. Severe visual loss occurs due to optic atrophy or peripapillary choroidal neovascular membrane (PCNVM). PCNVM in IIH has an incidence of 0.5% with a benign course in the majority of patients. Intravitreal Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents have anecdotally been used to manage these patients, with complete resolution reported in all cases after a single injection. Our case of IIH-associated PCNVM was treated with three injections of intravitreal ranibizumab with no recurrence at 6-month follow-up. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a case study of a 24‑year‑old Indian male patient with a temporal field defect in his right eye. Topics discussed include the measurement of unaided visual acuity in both eyes of the patient; the diagnosis of acute zonal occult outer retinopathy (AZOOR) in the right eye; and the fundus autofluorescence (AF) performed on the patient. Also mentioned is the full‑field electroretinogram (ERG) performed on the patient.

Fundus examination revealed bilateral disc pallor with peripheral pigmentation of optic discs [Figure 1]a and [Figure 1]b. Optic disc pigmentation can occur in ocular abnormalities like optic disc hypoplasia, distended retinal vessels, iris transillumination defects, ptosis, nystagmus, and siderosis bulbi.[[1]],[[2]],[[3]],[[4]] Optic disc pigmentation after an episode of optic neuritis is rare. A 59-year-old asymptomatic male was referred to our tertiary care center with suspected left inferior bullous retinal detachment. Binocular indirect ophthalmoscopic examination revealed an elevated, smooth, dome-shaped retinal lesion from 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock extending posterior to the equator, suggestive of bullous retinoschisis. Bullous or reticular retinoschisis is known to occur in the periphery and often extends posterior to the equator.[[1]],[[2]] Management is usually observation unless retinoschisis is accompanied with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.{Figure 1}.
