The article reflects on the Coronavirus Bulletin presented on Jornal Nacional during the Covid-19 pandemic. The analysis focuses on the episode of June 19, 2021, when the pandemic reached the tragic milestone of half a million deaths from the disease. And it extends to contexts related to the analysis period, the production, and the display of the bulletin, produced based on independently gathered information by a group of media outlets in the face of a lack of transparency in the disclosure of federal government data. The analysis articulates the foundational and ethical tenets of journalism as categories and employs Discursive Semiotics as a methodology to demonstrate whether these professional assumptions converge concerning the significance of journalism in maintaining democracy. This study investigated whether journalists from educational television stations apprehend contextualized knowledge about the semi-arid territories and their societies, from the stories and programs produced by TV Caatinga, webtv of the Federal University of São Francisco Valley. Questionnaires were applied and interviews were conducted with professionals from partner broadcasters of the university TV based in the Northeast and Southeast. The material was evaluated and compared with the study of the exhibition of TV Caatinga's content in the referred TVs, from the contrastive ethno-research. As main results, it was observed that content contextualized with the Semi-Arid, which enables other ways of representing these territories, closer to reality and without distortions, promoted access and transformation of knowledge for journalists from three stations participating in all stages of the research. This article aims to understand how the disinformation about the pandemic context has been affecting the productive routines of journalists from TV Paraíba, an affiliate of Rede Globo in Campina Grande - PB. To carry out this analysis, we bring essential studies on disinformation (WARDLE; DERAKHSHAN, 2017) and post-truth (D'ANCONA, 2018), in addition to taking scholars such as Wolf (1999) and Vizeu (1999) as a guideline. The methodology used was the Case Study, through semi-structured interviews with a qualitative approach. We found that, in the clipping adopted in this work, the level of tension between journalists grew in the face of the responsibility and need for an even more cautious investigation of the facts in an even more restricted time in the face of the urgency and perishability of data related to the pandemic. In addition, it was found that the professional journalist strengthens his pedagogical role before the population, since these professionals are one of those responsible for denying the misleading information that circulates among society. The article systematizes the results of different research regarding television news, carried out since 2012 within the scope of the Graduate Program in Journalism of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Specifically, it develops operational concepts for the field, in addition to suggesting a framework of analysis for broascast news, based on Discursive Semiotics postulated by Algirdas Julien Greimas. This article aims to suggest a categorization of news about Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil, displayed in the Jornal Nacional (JN) of Rede Globo. We seek to understand how they are constructed the state's image in television news with the largest audience in the country. For this, we use the theory of social representations and the Journalism theories, to understand how are they produced and selected journalistic information. Take for basic reports displayed in the Jornal Nacional. The analysis pointed to six representations contained in JN on the State: the factual; Pernambuco as a positive model for other states; celebrities; cultural manifestation; disasters and public service. This article result from the author's Master Thesis and features an interdisciplinary analysis of narrative for television and journalism, which has the Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey (2007) as a leading paradigm and theoretical frame. As goes the work, the scheme of Campbell's is compared to the representations of the political career of the former President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, in the narratives of Jornal Nacional (JN), Rede Globo. In this article, we intend to reflect about the journalistic use of contents generated by devices that visually register the world (such as surveillance cameras, amateurs cameras, cell phones, tablets and computers) in order to verify how the ubiquity of these technical devices has operated reconfigurations in television journalism. In search of a more precise approach, we investigate a news story generated by an amateur camera with narrative focus in first person. Therefore, we intend to observe the narrative strategies employed by the journalistic instance for use of this material - in order to investigate how it explores an aesthetic of flagrant (BRUNO, 2013) and how this aesthetic is implemented in the news story from the appropriation of that Jost (2007) conceptualizes as violent images, based on the achievement of a perceptive shock to the viewer. This research articulates the concepts of international correspondent and of newsanchor as established positions in brazilian newscasts. The article focuses on the enunciative position of Renato Machado in the newscast Bom Dia Brasil, in which the journalist presents international news from Rede Globo's office in London. Drawing from Discourse Analysis as a theoretical and methodological approach, we affirm that Machado's position is convergent of these two enunciative functions, originally distinct. Through the study of his participation during a month of newscast it was possible to identify and propose a particular enunciative position in brazilian television journalism: the international newsanchor. This article is part of a concluded doctoral research about the process of construction and maintenance of cultural dominants by TV journalism en Brazil and Argentina. It highlights the role of broadcast television and its main informative product, the TV news, in such process. We offer a comparative analysis of broadcasting television in both countries in order to get the support to understand the role of TV journalism as part of the apparatus of building the nationalized culture which is offered in Brazil and Argentina as being the very national culture. We have chosen Jornal Nacional and Telenoche because they are the older and most watched TV shows in their respective countries. In the article, we point out differences and resemblances amidst the two broadcast systems and how these nuances have an impact in journalistic production, specially that one related to news about culture. The result is the reassurance of stereotypes that works as cultural dominants that are not problematized within the interpretive community of journalists in charge with the TV news production. The co-presence at the event provides credibility to the journalism and to the journalist in the face of information that is been publicized. This action is increased in the reporter's stand up, which can be considered a space to affirm the narrative of facts in television newscast. It can be perceived more clearly in the sense of "building of presence" - typology of report defined by Fechine and Lima (2008). The Brazilian Rede Globo's newscasts, however, created a new role for the stand up of foreign correspondent: instead of being a witness of the events and tell the stories at where they occur, the correspondent applies an editorialized approach and strengths the political/ economical/cultural bias that Rede Globo has about certain foreign facts. The purpose of this discussion is to see how the media coverage is presented on television programs that unite information and entertainment. Thus, will be analyzed the framework "Proteste Já" of august 2011 from Band Network Television's TV Show CQC. The choice is justified by presenting noticiabiliity criteria. It is believed that these new formats of programs that combine different genres influence the production of television coverage that uses features such as opinion and proximity between journalist and source. The coverage is characterized by the mode of action of the reporter in driving the story and also the legitimacy of his speech from videographic resources. The difficulties of evaluating TV quality are undeniable: TV is a cultural industry with a gigantic output, strong national character, different institutional formats (public service, broadcast, cable, satellite, internet) and an omniparous vocation in creating all kind of contents. Academic studies dealing with the evaluation of the media have accepted the more or less loose standards that TV professionals, companies and audiences have used or produced to that end or concentrated the efforts of evaluation in analyzing quantitatively programming slots and genres and in the adequacy of programming to the political normative adapted in each country. Academic attention has partially shifted to the "American quality series", but shared standards of evaluation have not been created. Most academic output has eluded or even refused the evaluation of TV quality by those who have been capacitated by society in the last two millennia to evaluated cultural products and the creations of other areas of knowledge: the academicians themselves. In this paper, I discuss several reasons for the difficulties and the refusal of evaluation by academics: the conceptual instability of "TV quality"; the areas that are either dealt (programming, audiences choices) or avoided (textual analysis); the "impossibility" of dealing theoretically the issue of TV quality; conservative and neopopulist attitudes towards TV contents; ways out of the black hole of academic evaluation of TV quality, with the purpose of helping the development of international work in this area. This paper focuses on the phenomenon of promoting discussion within the Brazilian commercial television, and seeks to formulate a kind of grammar of the promotional, examining the rules which underpin and the strategies that structure televisual productions. Their operations are hold by the economical logic, considering the profits and benefits that they may obtain. This article analyses news broadcasting and its reconfigurations emphasizing the audience role as news' co producer. News broadcasting is constantly achieving new configurations and, facing these new outlines, technological innovations and citizens' behavior together with journalists activity are the main pieces of the act of making the news. Thus, criteria of newsworthiness, production and edition of the material that gets to editors through citizens were highlighted while we followed the productive routine of TV Jornal Meio-dia, a news program from Pernambuco. It has already been several decades since the Theory of Communication, as well as other important theory perspectives, acknowledges the subjective nature of the message receiver. However, although each person perceives information in a different way, the public - or the audience, as preferred by Aristotle - continues behaving as a big homogeneous mass. If each person perceives information differently, how could the Mass Media (MCM) control the agenda of public debate? Nonetheless, this occurs very often and it is the object of study for Pierre Bordieu (1992) with his theory about the habitus of communication. This discussion focuses on the ways of textual production for the journalistic genre of television as a way of constructing meaning for a larger number of TV viewers. Yet, as a hypothesis, we rely on the idea that this information is not sufficient for a deeper reflection on the presented issues. The paper studies the typical narrative strategies employed by the local TV news teams are directed to their "imagined audience". It interested us to see how the work routines of professionals are deployed to maximize the process of identification between the discursive proposals offered via television and the multiple narratives of Juiz de Fora and region. The democratization of communication has gained evidence in the Brazilian political agenda since 2006, when social movements began to demand more strongly to hold national conference about communication. Among these themes is the social control of media, especially the broadcasting. Understanding how the social responsibility of media is showed by television is the focus this study. It analyzes the narratives of the National Conference of Communication and the third version of National Plan for Human Rights that were exhibited by telejournalism of TV Brasil and Rede Globo. This survey deals with the Brazilian way of consuming TV news. It is part of an international pool of researchers from 17 countries. In 12 countries this same questionnaire was applied. In Brazil 500 respondents from all over the country were interviewed. The results show the habits of TV news consumption and the role performed by TV news as a major source of country's population. It starts here with the hypothesis that the local TV journalism, for its scope and everyday acts such as (re) producer of narratives privileged constituents of urban imagination of a city on itself, producing identity effects. This article aims to assess how it happens in a particular case, through the analysis of the emphases discursive at MGTV 1st and 2nd editions of TV Panorama (affiliated Rede Globo), the coverage of the commemoration of 159 years in the municipality of Juiz de Fora . It discusses what was the effect the representation of the city special commemorative series. This article examines the dynamics of the television news gender, approaching the discussion with the concept of economic inovation, specially as understanded by J. A. Shumpeter (1883-1950). It relates the historical events that contributed to the current format of TV news and analyzes the reasons why inovation were incorporated. It describes new features of digital media related to the Internet and interactive television and, finally, identifies upcoming inovation, tools and strategies that will serve as a model to guide TV newscasts. Senses - and the effects they produce on individuals - consolidate themselves in the texts that circulate in society. In a field characterized by interdiscurses and their shocks, like (TV) Journalism, the effort to keep an illusion of sense unity, by means of representations. In this text we focus on the circulation of statements, specially the TV newscast and make some articulations between discursive practices and midiatic languages. Death is a very complex human question and it assumes different meanings. Thereby, the manifestation of human finitude on the TV screen offers a vast field for academic research. Our intention is to reflect over the sense generated over death in television journalism, as we present a case study of the covering of the 3054 TAM air crash by national TV newscast Jornal Nacional. We observed how JN dealed with issues like the suffering of relatives, reactions of witnesses and possible explanations for the tragedy. We consider death as as an journalistic event, following a definition proposed by Adriano Duarte Rodrigues. We have chosen the newscast issued in July eighteen, 2007 - the day after the tragedy.
