The article summarizes the book "Morbidity States: Body Wear in Contemporary Life" by Dresda E. Méndez de la Brena, which addresses fibromyalgia from a political and social perspective. It highlights how the bodies of women with fibromyalgia are affected by the neoliberal and patriarchal system, but also emphasizes strategies of resistance. The text proposes the use of photography as a tool to give voice to the experience of the painful body and seeks inventive practices instead of traditional representations. It emphasizes that this methodology has a political and performative character, challenging epistemologies of ignorance and generating political alternatives and resistances.
