The article discusses a colored paper strip method devised by the author that can help teachers to know their pupils better in less time and thus enable them to meet the needs of the pupils more effectively. The author asked the students to choose a colored strip from among a pile of colored strips and their decisions threw light on their mental workings at that particular time. This method aims at determining the basic personality organization and tension system of children. The article focuses on the study that describes the methods of investigating reading difficulties used in the Orthogenic School of the University of Chicago in Illinois.
