During an expedition to the Caroline Plate seamounts in the NW Pacific, one ovigerous female specimen of the genus Heteronika was collected. Heteronika paranesisi sp. nov. is morphologically very similar to Heteronika nesisi (Burukovsky, 1986), which was originally described from western Mexico and re-described from the Indo-Pacific. Morphologically, H. paranesisi sp. nov. can be distinguished from H. nesisi by the length and shape of the rostrum and the armature of the first and second pereiopods. A phylogenetic analysis based on the COI and 16S mitochondrial genes, supported the recognition of the new species and revealed that cryptic species do exist among the complex of populations that are generally reported under the name H. nesisi , which should thus obviously be characterized as "sensu lato". A new species of gecarcinucid crab, Barytelphusa choprai sp. nov., is described here from the Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh state of India. The new species differs from all three congeners by its convex and trapezoidal carapace, pale white colouration, and by a distinct structure of the male gonopod G1. It differs from its congeners by genetic distance (p-distance) in the range of 5.7-13.6% in partial mtCOI gene sequence. The habitat at the type locality is a slow flowing shallow stream with rocky substratum, covered with silt and debris, and devoid of aquatic vegetation. A new species of the sergestid shrimp genus Sicyonella Borradaile, 1910 was discovered in a recent expedition to southern Madagascar. The presence of Sicyonella in Madagascar is also a new genus record for the country. The new species has the petasma and thelycum very different from the three known species of the genus, and is also unique in the basal part of the mesial antennular flagellum not being modified in males. A new species of the caridean family Thoridae, Lebbeus liui sp. nov., is described from the Bohai Sea, China. It belongs to the group characterized by the presence of epipods on the third maxilliped to third pereiopod. The new species is most similar to L. fasciatus and L. speciosus. It differs from the above two species by the number of the dorsal teeth and the spacing of those on the rostrum, and by the posterior median margin of the telson not produced into a triangular tooth. The poorly known epialtid crab, Hyastenus pleione (Herbst, 1803), from the Indian Ocean is re-described on the basis of the type material. Large sized specimens of a similar looking species from China are here assigned to a new species. The new species differs from H. pleione in having fewer large granules on the carapace, a blunt distal angle of the basal antennal article with the outer margin slightly constricted medially, possessing only one branchial granule along the lateral margin of the carapace, and has a relatively more elongate male first gonopod with the subdistal part weakly dilated. The identity of the potamid freshwater crab, Indochinamon manipurense (Alcock, 1909) from the state of Manipur in northeast India, is clarified based on an examination of the type specimens. The species is redescribed and a lectotype designated. Specimens from the same region previously referred to this species were compared to the types of I. manipurense and shown to belong to a new species of Potamiscus Alcock, 1909, instead. The new species, Potamiscus takedai sp. nov., can easily be separated from I. manipurense by the characters in the carapace, third maxilliped, male pleon, male gonopods, and female vulvae. Potamiscus takedai sp. nov. can be differentiated from congeners mainly by the strongly bent terminal segment of the male first gonopod and a relatively shorter distal segment of the male second gonopod. The current understanding of the hexapodid crab fauna from Hong Kong is limited. Trawl surveys of the subtidal macrobenthos since 2012 obtained four species of Hexapodidae: Hexalaughlia orientalis (Rathbun, 1909), Hexapinus simplex Rahayu & Ng, 2014, Mariaplax chenae Rahayu & Ng, 2014 and M. exigua sp. nov. Two new species of brachyuran crabs are represented in a recent collection from caves in southern Myanmar [= Burma]. Demanietta burmanica sp. nov. (Potamidae) is the third species of Demanietta Bott, 1966, recorded from the country, and is closest to D. renongensis (Rathbun, 1904) from Thailand, but differs in the form of the carapace and details of the male first gonopod structure. Pseudosesarma brehieri sp. nov. (Sesarmidae) is allied to P. edwardsii (De Man, 1887) and P. crassimanum (De Man, 1887), both from the Mergui Archipelago, but can be easily distinguished by the distinctive form of its male first gonopod. A new species of pagurid hermit crab, Pagurus liui sp. nov., is described from the South China Sea. It is most closely similar to Pagurus imaii (Yokoya, 1939), but the endopod of the maxillule recurved and the absence of spines on the ventral surface of the propodus of the pereopods can easily distinguish the new species from P. imaii. A new species, Manuscaris liui sp. nov., of the genus Manuscaris Komai & Tsuchida, 2015 is described from the Manus Basin hydrothermal vents. It is the second species described in this genus. The new species mainly differs from Manuscaris acuminatus Komia & Tsuchida, 2015 by the antennal tooth lacking a small blunt lobe ventromesial to its base, and by the endopod of the first maxilliped being only uni-articulated. A new species of the genus Turleania McLaughlin, 1997, T. sinensis sp. nov., is described and illustrated. This new species is morphologically similar to T. senticosa, but differs from that species in having nine pairs of quadriserial gills, and in having the ventromesial margin of the ischium of both chelipeds armed with large, prominent spines. During a recent expedition in the South China Sea, three species of the deep-sea epialtid genus Oxypleurodon Miers, 1885 were collected. Two species, O. sti?npsoni Miers, 1886, and O. auritum (Rathbun, 1916), are new records for the area. The third species, one of the largest known Oxypleurodon species, is described here as new. It is most similar to O. luzonicum (Rathbun, 1916) and O. sanctaeclausi Richer de Forges & Ng, 2009, in possessing a rounded cardiac plate, but can be separated by the structures of the branchial and pseudorostral spines. A new species of Systellaspis Spence Bate, 1888, Systellaspis liui sp. nov., was discovered in the deep waters of the western Pacific. It is closely allied to 5. debilis (A. Milne-Edwards, 1881), but it differs morphologically in the blade of the scaphocerite being equipped with a medial dorsal groove, the spines on pereiopods 1 to 5, the dorsal margin of the third abdominal somite with a carina, the posterior margin of the fifth abdominal somite,, the dorsal margin of the telson armed with at least two rows of spines on each side. Two new species of isopod crustaceans belonging to the genus Stenosoma Leach, 1814 (Valvifera, Idoteidae) are described, illustrated,, compared with the other known species of the genus. The new species can be distinguished both from each other, from all their congeners by having a maxilliped with two coupling hooks; length of the appendix masculina on pleopod II;, an antennal flagellum with 12 articles in Stenosoma aaseni sp. nov.;, by having a pair of distinctive lateral spinous tubercles on pereonites I-II;, a pereon with a part of a mid-dorsal carina on the posterior half of each of the pereonites in Stenosoma inonuei sp. nov.; the two new species also differ in the morphology of mouthparts, pleotelson,, pereopods. Both new species were collected from seagrass meadows, colonized predominantly by Zostera (Zostera) marina Linnaeus, 1753, Posidonia oceanica (Linnaeus) Delile, 1813, in the Sea of Marmara, Turkey. Mallacoota carinacera sp. nov., a new amphipod species of the family Maeridae, collected from Weno Island, Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, is described for the first time, with a detailed description and illustrations, and characteristic features between related species are discussed. Two new species of the planktonic copepod genus Tortanus, subgenus Atortus, are described from inter- to sub-tidal water of South Andaman Island, India. The new species are assigned to the tropicus group sensu Othman (1987) and distinguished from the other members of the group by the characteristic morphology of the pair of posterior dorsolateral processes on the fifth pedigerous somite in the female and the antennule and leg 5 in the male. An analysis of previous records of the tropicus species group indicates their sporadic occurrence combined with high species richness in Southeast Asia, suggesting future discovery of even more species by sampling with finer geographic and habitat coverage. Candonidae from South Korea are poorly studied, and only nine species have been recorded so far. Here we describe Cypria asiatica sp. nov. and Cryptocandona smithi sp. nov. The first species is the third representative of the genus reported from Korea and it belongs to a group of species of Cypria Zenker, 1854 with reduced swimming setae on the second antenna and without the marginal tubercles on the shell. The group comprises nine species distributed in the Holarctic. Cypria asiatica stands apart from eight other congeneric species by the presence of septa-like structures on the postero-dorsal end of the left valve. Based on the present observations and some previous studies of the subfamily Cyclocypridinae, we here draw attention to the chaetotaxy of the mandibular palp and the chaetotaxy of the fifth limb. The latter shows close similarity between Cyclocypridinae and Paracypridinae and urges further study of homology of setae on this leg between three candonid subfamilies. Cryptocandona smithi is the 14th known Recent species of its genus and the third reported from Korea. It is similar to C. tsukagoshii Smith, 2011 from Japan and C. pygmaea (Ekman, 1908) from Sweden. They all share a peculiar chaetotaxy of the seventh limb and an unusually long posterior seta on the uropodal ramus. The new species can be distinguished from the Swedish species by the morphology of the genital field, and from the Japanese by the shape of the carapace, the length of the f-seta on the seventh limb, and other details of the soft parts. We here report some abnormalities in the morphology of the antennule found in one specimen, and compare this with similar abnormalities reported for C. tsukagoshii and C. brehmi (Klie, 1934), and postulate that this may be a result of the regenerative process of the antennule after damage during development.
