Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) is the most common benign disease that causes lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in middle-aged and older men, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. With the deepening of national tiered diagnosis and treatment, primary medical institutions have gradually become the main healthcare provider for BPH patients. Therefore, there is an urgent need to strengthen the screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management capabilities of primary medical institutions for BPH patients. This expert consensus clarifies the diagnosis and treatment process of BPH in primary healthcare institutions, standardizes the management criteria, and establishes a two-way referral mechanism between higher-level hospitals and primary healthcare institutions, providing guideline and reference for grassroots clinical practice. The use of medical terms related to reproductive testing in domestic professional journals and clinical practice is currently very no-standard and chaotic, which easily results in the misunderstanding among readers such as clinicians, patients, laboratory technicians, and science popularization worker. In order to further standardize the use of terms related to reproductive testing and promote the standardized and orderly development of reproductive testing, the Reproductive Testing Branch of China Sexology Association initiated and organized the experts in the field of reproductive testing to jointly discuss and formulate this consensus based on the connotation of terms related to reproductive testing, in combination with the interpretation and description of relevant terms published in relevant guides, manuals, consensus and literatures. The consensus involves the standardization of terms related to semen analysis, serological examination and genetic test, aiming to provide reference for medical staffs engaged in reproductive medicine, andrology and reproductive testing. Sperm morphology analysis has always been the focus and difficulty in the field of reproductive testing, with some problems such as strong subjectivity, difficulty in quality control and poor mutual recognition of the results among laboratories. In order to further standardize the process of sperm morphology analysis and improve the accuracy of analysis results, the Reproductive Testing Branch of China Sexology Association initiated and organized the experts in the field of sperm morphology analysis to jointly discuss and formulate this consensus based on the 5th and 6th editions of WHO Laboratory Manual for the Examination and Processing of Human Semen, in combination with the relevant literature published in recent years and clinical practice of China. This consensus covers the contents, methods and procedures of sperm morphology analysis, criteria for normal and abnormal sperm morphology, specific sperm deformities, evaluation process of sperm morphology, and the quality control, report contents, existing problems and prospects of sperm morphology analysis, and is intended to provide reference for medical personnel engaged in reproductive medicine, andrology and reproductive testing. Routine semen analysis is the most basic experimental evidence for male fertility assessment and the diagnosis and treatment of andrological diseases. Due to multi-factor influence, large intra-individual and inter-individual variation, quality control for semen analysis results was difficult to be performed. In order to further standardize the process of routine semen analysis, improve the accuracy of analysis results, and promote the mutual acceptance of the results among laboratories, the Reproductive Testing Branch of China Sexology Association initiated and organized the laboratory experts in the field of andrology to jointly discuss and formulate this consensus according to the operation manual and standardized documents issued by the World Health Organization（WHO） and International Organization for Standardization（ISO）, in combination with the relevant literature published in recent years and clinical practice of China. The consensus covered the contents of routine semen analysis, preparation before analysis, analysis methods, quality control, report contents, existing problems and prospects, which will be aimed at providing reference for medical personnel engaged in reproductive medicine, andrology and reproductive medicine testing.
