The use of medical terms related to reproductive testing in domestic professional journals and clinical practice is currently very no-standard and chaotic, which easily results in the misunderstanding among readers such as clinicians, patients, laboratory technicians, and science popularization worker. In order to further standardize the use of terms related to reproductive testing and promote the standardized and orderly development of reproductive testing, the Reproductive Testing Branch of China Sexology Association initiated and organized the experts in the field of reproductive testing to jointly discuss and formulate this consensus based on the connotation of terms related to reproductive testing, in combination with the interpretation and description of relevant terms published in relevant guides, manuals, consensus and literatures. The consensus involves the standardization of terms related to semen analysis, serological examination and genetic test, aiming to provide reference for medical staffs engaged in reproductive medicine, andrology and reproductive testing.
