The aerial part of Astragalus mucidus Bunge (Leguminosae) contains several isoprenoid compounds, two of which were isolated pure. The structure of a new triterpene glycoside of the cycloartane series, cycloascidoside A, was determined as 24 R-cycloartan-3β,6α,16β,24,25-pentaol-3- O-β-D-xylopyranoside-6- O-β-Dglucopyranoside.
