We develop a novel electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitter of aqueous-based perovskite quantum dots, with long-term stable ECL emission in aqueous media. Moreover, an electron transfer annihilation mechanism of ECL generation is proposed, revealed by the experimental results. This study opens a door for exploring efficient perovskite-based ECL emitters.

A pair of 2D chiral frameworks, R-Ag5-1 and S-Ag5-1, with orange fluorescence were successfully synthesized. They were transformed to a thermodynamically favored denser stacking, R-Ag5-3 and S-Ag5-3, accompanied by a change in the luminescence and activating the CPL signal. The capture and structural determination of the intermediates (R-Ag5-2 and S-Ag5-2) reveal that the coordination instability of Na + ions is the main cause of this transition.

A pair of novel multifunctional MOF materials [Cd 2 (L) 2 (D/L-Lm)(H 2 O) 2 ]·5H 2 O (denoted as D/L-Cd-MOF) has been synthesized by combining the viologen-functionalized ligand H 2 L + Cl - and chiral D/L-tartaric acid (H 2 Lm) with a simple solvothermal method. Due to the unique photoelectric response properties of the viologen units, reversible photochromic and electrochromic properties have been combined in D/L-Cd-MOF, which points to a new way of designing and constructing multifunctional photoelectric materials.

We have developed a catalyst-free visible-light-driven C(sp 2 )-H arylation of unprotected phenols with arylbromides to give 2-arylated phenols. This reaction proceeds through the excitation of an electron donor-acceptor complex between a phenolate and an arylbromide, electron transfer, and debrominative C(sp 2 )-C(sp 2 ) coupling.

In this study, we identified 3-aminophthalic acid as a new ligand of cereblon (CRBN) E3 ubiquitin ligase and developed a phthalic acid-based O'PROTAC for degradation of the ERG transcription factor. This phthalic acid-based O'PROTAC presented an efficacy in degrading ERG comparable to those displayed by pomalidomide-based ERG O'PROTACs. Moreover, phthalic acid-being more chemically stable and economical than classical immunomodulatory drugs (IMiDs)-represents, as a ligand, a new alternative for the development of PROTACs, especially O'PROTACs.

A novel 0D organic-inorganic metal halide hybrid (C 13 H 16 N 2 O 2 ) 2 InCl 6 ·Cl (1) has been obtained by integrating the mono-viologen derivative with InCl 3 . Compound 1 exhibits reversible and ultrafast UV/sunlight/X-ray induced photochromic properties, as well as excellent electrochromic performance, which is the first example of an indium-based organic-inorganic chromic hybrid.

Herein, a novel sequential ring opening reaction of aza-cyclobutanone oxime esters with isocyanides is described. The reaction proceeded smoothly under redox-neutral and mild conditions, leading to a divergent synthesis of α-cyanomethylaminoamides, α-acyloxyamides and α-acylaminoamides. In these transformations, a selective N-O/C-C or N-O/C-C/C-N cleavage was achieved only by changing the iron-catalyst system. Among them, a rare sequential N-O/C-C/C-N cleavage process with a classical Passerini or Ugi multicomponent reaction can be executed in a single step. To the best of our knowledge, this work creates a novel reaction mode of cycloketone oximes and provides new opportunities for reaction design.

An unprecedented inner [Mn 18 (CO 3 ) 9 ] inorganic core and [Mn 20 ] metal-organic periphery compose a high-nuclearity homometallic single-valent {Mn II 38 } molecular aggregate with a [Mn 6 ] ⊂ [Mn 12 ] ⊂ [Mn 8 ] ⊂ [Mn 12 ] matryoshka doll-like skeleton that displays a significant magnetocaloric effect (MCE).

A novel high-nuclearity silver sulfide nanocluster [Ag 50 S 7 (SC 6 H 4 F) 36 (dppp) 6 ]·4DMI, (hereafter abbreviated as 1⋅4DMI) was synthesised. Solvent-free crystals of 1 displayed a completely reversible narrowing and broadening of the optical band gap that was accompanied by visual thermochromism and piezochromism changeovers, when stimulated by varying temperatures between 113 and 413 K or by changing the pressure from 1 atm to 7.5 GPa.

A novel viologen-based multifunctional Eu-MOF was obtained by integrating a luminescent component Eu(NO 3 ) 3 ·6H 2 O and a viologen-functionalized ligand. The Eu-MOF not only exhibited reversible photochromic and electrochromic properties, but also displayed photoluminescent and electroluminochromic properties.

A new hexanuclear silver(i) cluster (NC-Ag6) that emits bright-blue phosphoresce with a lifetime of 22.4 μs and a quantum yield (QY) of 22% under ambient conditions was synthesized. A film combining NC-Ag6 with yellow cerium(iii)-doped yttrium aluminum garnet phosphors (YAG:Ce3+) displays "chameleon"-like emission (including white), which is related to excitation-dependent Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) between dual phosphors. The mechanoresponsive luminescence colour of this silver cluster ranges from blue to green virtually without loss of QY.

An Ugi, novel pseudo-Knoevenagel, ring expansion cascade reaction was discovered and utilized for the synthesis of aziridinyl succinimides in one-pot. Subsequently, densely functionalized aziridines and maleimides have been designed and synthesized through similar cascade reactions. The target compounds were prepared by means of a mild reaction and a simple operation procedure, which could be applicable to a broad scope of starting materials. This series of novel cascade reactions generates opportunities for the tailored synthesis of a wide range of biologically active scaffolds through tuneable Ugi inputs. Discovery of compound 8i with comparable potency to sorafenib in liver cancer cell lines could provide a new avenue for liver cancer drug discovery.

The present study reports the fabrication of a silver chalcogenolate cluster hybrid membrane (SCC membrane) through self-assembly of SCCs, and then covalent cross-linking of the modified SCC assembled materials. This strategy provides access to silver clusters with superior chemical stability and enhanced luminescence efficiency for practical applications.

Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) are robust tools for the rapid synthesis of complex, small molecule libraries for use in drug discovery and development. By utilizing MCR chemistry, we developed a protocol to functionalize the C-3 position of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine through a three component, decarboxylation reaction involving imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine, glyoxalic acid, and boronic acid.

Preparation of substituent-diverse, triazole-iduronic acid hybrid molecules by click reaction of an azido iduronic acid derivative with randomly chosen alkynes is described. Library members were screened for their ability to inhibit α-l-iduronidase, and hit molecules and analogues were then investigated for their ability to stabilize rh-α-IDUA in a thermal denaturation study. This work resulted in the discovery of the first small molecules that can be used to stabilize exogenous rh-α-IDUA protein in vitro.

An organocatalytic Michael-cyclization cascade of aldehydes with 4-oxa-α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids has been developed, giving functionalized γ-lactols with high yields and enantioselectivities. The products could be easily transformed into complex trisubstituted γ-lactones and γ-lactams.

Rh-catalysed conjugate additions of 2-aminophenyl boronic acid derivatives were exploited in diastereoselective and asymmetric syntheses of tetrahydroquinolines. In both cases, combinatorial variation of the substitution of the tetrahydroquinoline ring system was possible.

Using first principles calculations for O vacancy diffusion on CeO(2)(111), we locate a surface diffusion mechanism, the two-step O vacancy exchange one, which is more favored than the most common hopping mechanism. By analyzing the results, we identify quantitatively the physical origin of why the two-step exchange mechanism is preferred.

The development of a type of carbon-nanotube-promoted Co-Cu catalyst, which displays excellent performance for highly effective and selective formation of the C(2-4)-oxygenates, especially BuOH and DME, from syngas, is reported.
