Abstract

A TTPP probe was developed to distinguish G-quadruplexes (G4s) from other nucleic acid topologies through longer fluorescence lifetimes and higher quantum yields. In fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy, TTPP enabled the visualization of cytoplasmic G4s in live cells, and showed the potential to detect cell apoptosis and ferroptosis by tracking cytoplasmic G4s. Abstract

The copper(ii)-catalyzed (4+1) cyclizations and copper(i)-catalyzed (3+2) cycloadditions of iodonium ylides and alkynes were successfully developed by employing efficient and safe iodonium ylides instead of traditional diazo compounds. Highly functionalized dimethyl (E)-3-benzylideneindoline-2,2-dicarboxylates and methyl 5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2-methoxy-4-phenylfuran-3-carboxylates were conveniently prepared in moderate to excellent yields. The possible reaction mechanisms were also discussed.

Abstract

A supramolecular gel formed by coordination of Zn(2+) with adenosine monophosphate (AMP) is reported. The adenine base, the monophosphate, and Zn(2+) are all important for gel formation. Mechanically disrupted gels can re-form upon centrifugation; applications of this gel for guest-molecule entrapment are explored.
