1. In the reaction of sodium and lithium tetrahydroaluminates with R3A1 (R=CH3, C2H5, i-C4H9) at a reactant ratio of 1∶ 2, the corresponding dihydride complexes MA1R2H2 and dialkylhydroaluminums were formed. At a reactant ratio of 1∶1, the dialkylhydroaluminum and the dihydride complex MA1R2H2 were again formed except in the case of R=i-C4H9, when the trihydride complex NaAl(i-C4H9)H3 was obtained. 2. In the reaction between NaAlH4 and NaAl(i-C4H9)H2 in tetrahydrofuran or butoxydiisobutylaluminum, NaAl(i-C4H9)H3 is formed. 3. The trihydride complex NaAl(i-C4H9)H3 reacts with (i-C4H9)3Al with formation of NaAl(i-C4H9)2H2 and (i-C4H9)2AlH. 4. At temperatures of above 50°, dialkylhydroaluminums split tetrahydrofuran with formation of the dialkylbutoxyaluminums.
