Bain Capital has agreed to sell UK payroll software company Zellis Group to Apax Partners for approximately £1.25 billion. Zellis serves about one third of the companies in the FTSE 100 and its payroll software is used to pay or reward about 5 million individuals each month. The deal is being partly funded by a £450 million unitranche loan from private credit funds. Bain Capital acquired Zellis in 2017 and the company has since experienced accelerated growth, including the acquisition of a benefits administration software platform. The private equity deal-making environment is improving, particularly for high-quality assets. [Extracted from the article]
