Abstract

The biochemical characterization of MmoS, including its oligomerization state, copper-binding properties, and the identification and redox-potential determination of a FAD cofactor are reported. Optical spectra reveal that that MmoS contains a flavin cofactor, identified as flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) by fluorescence spectroscopy and chromatographic analysis.

Abstract

Study is conducted to show that the cytoplasmic C2A domain of synaptotagmin binds to CU(super 2+) ions with high affinity. The result from isothermal calorimetry (ITC), near UV circular dischroism (CD), and absorption spectroscopy shows that four CU(super 2+) ions bind per molecule of C2A domain.
