Since the late 1800s, fingerprints have been used as a technique of identifying persons. Biometrics technology, which employs physical or behavioral features to identify people, is gaining popularity as a reliable and effective method of personal verification that aids in the identification of a real person. As a result, utilizing MATLAB, this study provides an effective method for automating fingerprint recognition for the verification and authentication of specific people. Human fingerprints contain minute characteristics known as minutiae that can be utilized as identity marks for fingerprint verification. Fingerprint identification is amongst the most effective and popular biometrics, due to their distinctiveness and stability over time. But due to developments in computing power, they have only recently become automated (i.e., biometric). Fingerprint recognition software comes in a number of types and sizes, and it can be utilized for a wide range of purposes. One of the most stimulating pattern recognition problems is fingerprint recognition. The Fingerprint Recognition system consists of three steps. Pre-processing increases binarization and thins the fingerprint image in the first step. The second process is the Feature Extraction Stage, involving the employment of minutiae extractor techniques for extracting ridge termination and ridge bifurcation from the thinned image. The third process is matching (identification and verification), which requires using the minutiae matcher process, that uses distance and similarity metrics to match two minutiae points. Fingerprint images from the FVC2002 database are used to evaluate the algorithm's accuracy and reliability. Bali cattle, also known as Bos javanicus, are indigenous to Indonesia and have high productive and reproductive traits in harsh environments. These cattle have the potential to grow into high-quality beef cattle. According to studies, the beef marbling score is associated with the endothelium differentiation sphingolipid G-protein-coupled receptor 1 (EDG1) gene. The purpose of the research was to find three new SNPs in the EDG1 5'UTR that may be associated to traits related to meat quality in Bali cattle. We used 88 fresh blood samples for polymorphism analysis which consisted of Bali cattle (n = 30), Ongole grade (n = 20), Brahman (n = 20), and Limousin (n = 18), while for association analysis only used Bali cattle. The EDG1 gene's polymorphism was examined using PCR and direct sequencing techniques, whilst the SAS 9.4 program's General Linear Model (GLM) algorithm was used to examine the gene's association with meat quality traits. The results of the genotyping identified three novel SNPs, c.-399C > T; c.- 273C > G; and c.-326C > G; which were polymorphic in Bali cattle and monomorphic in Ongole grade, Brahman, and Limousin. While SNP c.-312A > G was polymorphic in Brahman and Limousin cattle, it was monomorphic in Ongole grade and Bali cattle. Unfortunately, all of these SNPs are not associated with meat quality traits in Bali cattle. However, we suggest that further study with larger samples is needed for validation. The multifunctional performance of a novel structural lithium-ion composite battery made of a mixture of solid polymer electrolyte (SPE), glass separator, and two commercial electrodes is investigated. Three types of glass separator known as WR200, WR50 dan Whatman where each of them has different geometry are being used in this research. The SPE is a mixture of ionic liquid (IL) and resin epoxy Bisphenol A compound. NMC532 and graphite layers are used as the positive and negative electrodes respectively. The structural battery is stacked into a pouch cell configuration to represent the commercial battery. To determine its multifunctionality, two types of testing were conducted: electrochemical and mechanical testing. Structural battery using each of the WR50 and WR200 separators produces slightly better charge-discharge capacity, Coulombic efficiency, and lower impedance compared to the Whatman separator. The Coulombic efficiency based on the Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) test is 11.9%, 11.3%, 4.3% for the WR50, WR200 and Whatman separators respectively. Based on the charge-discharge capacity test, the Coulombic efficiency is 40.38%, 3,34 %, 4.03% for the WR50, WR200 and Whatman separators respectively. The thin layer of WR 50 separator helps the Lithium ion to travel faster between the two electrodes thus resulting in higher Coulombic efficiency. The mechanical testing shows a degradation in the tensile properties of the structural battery for all types of separators after the charge-discharge cycle test due to graphite exfoliation and cracking. From the current research, a relationship between the stiffness of the structural battery and its discharge capacity has been made. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
