The speed of vehicles are increased in the recent days with advancement of engine technology. The increased speed resulting in many accidents and causing for loss of many lives. Especially in restricted areas like schools zones, etc. it is important to control the speed of vehicle for safety concern. The speed control systems available now uses rely, a static device that is inappropriate for use in high-alert circumstances. In this paper, an Internet of Things (IoT) based automatic speed control system is proposed, which works based on the maximum permitted speed limit in a given area. Drivers are given information regarding the speed limits of particular area to maintain the speed. With the use of a mobile GPS, the proposed system gathers the geographical location and the corresponding top speed restriction. The proposed system compares the speed of the vehicle and the site's maximum speed on a continual basis. A priceless life was lost as a result of a driving mistake among today's high-speed, accident-prone drivers (school zone, hills area, and highways). So, the sign boards at such locations indicates the speed to be maintained. This automated speed control system was developed includes the specific speed restriction, which is picked up by the sensor located inside the car. The automobile has an receiver, and the transmitters are placed near prohibited regions send the data to transmitter. Based on the received signal, the speed of the vehicle is reduced.
