The goal of this paper is to investigate students' condition during the first couple months of pandemic since it hit Indonesia. Since the beginning of 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has imposed the use of technology in teaching and learning process, and nothing can enforce the use of technology in education as powerful as Covid-19 Pandemic. Schools and universities have been closed and the teaching and learning process must be done remotely through online learning to slow down the spread of the virus. Students must learn from home. Teacher has to adapt to using online learning platform during this pandemic. However, the e-learning process are still far from perfection as it still caused many problems for teachers and students as well; therefore, a suitable and appropriate learning environment needed to be created for improving the existing learning environment that is safe and effective for students and teacher during pandemic. This research aims to gain the basic inputs in designing an appropriate classroom/learning environment specifically for teaching during and, hopefully, after pandemic. An online survey is spread to reach more and wider respondents, because we would like to gain as much as possible data from the Z generation. There are as many as 4841 college students in Gorontalo responded to the survey. The Result of this research shows the students' condition on the first couple of months when the pandemic hit Indonesia, especially the province of Gorontalo, that effected the teaching and learning process in our university. The issues and problems surrounding the implementation of online learning as well as the students' life facing the covid-19 pandemic will be presented in more detail in this paper. Science learning media can support science teaching and improve student science proficiency. The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of science learning media in Indonesia. The data was obtained through the published papers about media used in science education. The type of published papers taken comes from science education journals in the last 10 years in Indonesia with a rank of S1-S6. The data analysis carried out includes media based on 1) the topic, 2) the material, 3) the integrated learning model, and 4) the type. The results in the first analysis show that many media are developed on the topic of biology and physics. Then the results of the second analysis show that the media has been widely developed on the material of movement systems and light-optic. Furthermore, the results of the third analysis, show that the media is widely integrated with inquiry and problem-based learning models. As for the fourth analysis, the most used type of media is flash based. Many advantages of this flash-based media have been found, therefore for 10 years, this media has been widely developed by researchers. The disadvantage of this media lies on its novelty. Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is one of the requirements that must be owned by innovative learning. In its development, teachers are required to be able to choose the right learning strategies, not only in planning and assessment but also in the learning process. This paper explores the lesson plans made by teachers in developing learning that empowers HOTS on plant material in senior high school. The research approach is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The documents used in this study were taken from students taking curriculum and learning design courses. The samples used were eight lesson plans using plant themes. From the results obtained, there are four learning approaches developed, including the scientific, concepts, environmental, and STEM approaches. The learning models developed also vary, including Discovery Learning, Project Based Learning (PjBL), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Cooperative Learning. The development of these approaches and models is expected to be an inspiration for biology teachers to develop plant material learning in high school, especially in facing the new challenges of the implementation of a new curriculum in Indonesia called Kurikulum Merdeka. This study objective is to produce flipbook on integral topic for 11th grade student that are valid and practical. Based on this paper, hopefully teacher can know how to develop flipbook especially in integral topic. The type of the research is design research with development model used is Plomp model that consisting of two phases: (1) preliminary research, (2) prototyping phase. The subjects of this study were 11th grade students at Sekolah Menengah Atas Pembangunan Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Padang, Padang. The research instruments were interview guides, observation sheets, validity sheets, student practicality sheets, and teacher practicality sheets. This research has produced a very valid and very practical flipbook. Teachers and students gave a good response to this flipbook because it helps them in the learning process. The development of education in the learning process is influenced by the phenomenon of Society 5.0. Education in Indonesia has also adapted to these changes by applying the concept "Merdeka Belajar." "Merdeka Belajar" means freedom of learning, which allows students to learn as freely and freely as they can to learn calmly, relax, and happily without stress. "Merdeka Belajar" aims to provide a happy atmosphere for teachers, students, and parents. "Merdeka Belajar" for students is influenced by external factors such as culture, the environment, and social relations. These factors seem likely to be closer to the concept that has been established and intact in the school climate. Feeling happy and comfortable at school is a great motivator for student learning and growth. The final aspect of the school atmosphere is students' perceptions of safety. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all sectors had a global impact, including the education sector in Indonesia. Many schools were forced to close. This makes education practitioners have to think about changing the learning attendance system so that it continues to run without physical touch or interaction. Avoid the old traditions of interacting with the physical that can transmit the virus. If this continues without a decision, it can result in the cessation of the learning process carried out by the agency due to health protocols that do not allow physical interaction during student attendance. The attendance process in online learning has challenges in dealing with it. This can be used by application developers to create attendance learning applications without having to come to school in a way that is still fun, namely by taking selfies and detecting student locations. The purpose of this research is to create a fun attendance application for students. In addition to attendance selfie photos, this system also embeds a method of information on the location coordinates of students who are absent before the learning process begins. With the combination of these two methods the possibility of fraud will be very small. The COVID-19 pandemic forces the policies to take students off and start implementing learning methods using an online system or distance learning. This research aims to portray the condition and challenge of online learning implementation at Vocational High School during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia. This research is a systematic literature review based on the kitchen ham method. There are 9 (nine) relevant studies used in this research according to the specified requirements. Published studies used in this research are explored between 2012 until 2020 to get updated information about online learning implementation in Indonesian Vocational Education. This study explains 3 (three) main discussions: the condition of online learning implementation, challenges and obstacles in online learning implementation, and innovation in online learning implementation. This research found that the challenges and obstacles to online learning in SMK come from 3 (three) related components, namely Learning Process, Teachers, and student. To overcome the challenges and obstacles, several innovations can be applied by teachers and schools, such as Self-Regulated Learning, Blended-learning, Interactive Multimedia, Social Media, and Education Applications. Effective learning can be defined as learning that successfully achieves learning and students know what they learn. Students' achievement and comprehension can be known by making a reflective. Reflection is one of the competencies that must be mastered by biology pre-service teachers. The ability of reflection is related to the development of the professional behavior of biology teachers to have lifelong learning abilities. Research on the reflection ability of biology pre-service teachers' is still little done in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to determine students' reflective writing abilities. The purpose of this paper was to describe and examine what students found valuable experience about the teaching and learning component. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The data collection technique was in the form of a reflective essay which was analyzed using thematic analysis. Overall, biology pre-service teachers reported that teaching and learning in the class is valuable. Four main themes were identified as aspects that students valued: (1) important and special things obtained during the learning process, (2) skills and knowledge gained during learning, (3) confidence and ability to learn independently, (4) the most effective strategies during the learning process. Education in Indonesia has begun to transform to digital due to the times. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic is the reason for the implementation of online learning. Digitalization-based learning is currently an excellent way, and it is believed to facilitate educators in transferring knowledge. This study aims to apply the experiential learning model to Pancasila and Civic Education subjects at Pancasila History material related to the Angkola Batak culture. This research uses a classroom action research method by applying the Kurt Lewin model, including planning, observing, and reflecting. Purposive sampling is the technique of data collection, and the sample is the third-semester students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program at Institut Agama Islam Negeri Padangsidimpuan. Observation, interviews, and tests collected the data, also assisted by the Kahoot application. The data collected were analyzed by using statistics assisted by STATCAL software. The research results showed that the first cycle with an average of 67.65 was low. In the second cycle, it increased to 80.06, and in the third, it rose to 83.52. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In mathematics, disposition is a very important component because students are accustomed to getting problems that require a positive attitude, desire, passion, and persistence to solve them. Without a good disposition, students will not be able to achieve competence or mathematical skills as expected. Based on the results of the PISA and TIMSS in Indonesia students, it is known that students have difficulty in applying mathematics to real-life situations. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can lead students to meaningful learning. Previously, preliminary research was conducted on the ethnomathematics activities of the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community in Jambi Province. The findings in the preliminary study were combined with the Realistic Mathematics Learning approach, hereinafter referred to as the Ethnomathematical. Realistic Mathematics Learning with an Ethnomathematics Approach of the Suku Anak Dalam (RME SAD) tested on seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Pangkalan Balai. This study examines the improvement of mathematical dispositions between students who received the RME SAD approach and students who received conventional learning, reviewed as a whole and reviewed according to the categories of high, medium and low students' initial mathematical abilities. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control-group design. The data obtained were analyzed using the mean difference test, namely t-test and Mann-Whitney. The Covid-19 pandemic has altered learning processes and other facets of classroom instruction. The development of students' self-efficacy during the learning process is critical to describe in order to attain future learning goals and achievement. Self-efficacy measures the extent to which pupils can execute and complete specific tasks. This study was conducted on students from Tadris Biology Department at IAIN Ternate in North Maluku, Indonesia. The research sample consisted of 40 students, 25 of whom were female and 15 of whom were male. Prior to their usage, the instrument employed in the investigation had been declared valid and reliable by experts and practitioners. A self-efficacy questionnaire was used to collect data. The results indicated that on average, Biology students in the RQANI classroom had a self-efficacy score of 81.00 (quite confident). Female students scored higher on various facets of self-efficacy, including tenacity, the ability to adapt to difficult tasks, the ability to avoid situations and behaviors that are beyond their skills, as well as cognitive and affective abilities. Several components of self-efficacy, however, must be cultivated in students. The findings of this study are expected to provide insights to secondary and tertiary level teachers on the importance of improving students' competence, abilities, and confidence, particularly amid this COVID-19 pandemic. Referring to the 2018 PISA test results data, the thinking ability of students in Indonesia is in the bottom 10. This encourages the government to make improvements to the curriculum that can prepare children to compete on international standards with a focus on the needs of the 21st-century industry. Abilities Computational Thinking needs to be developed to expand thinking skills. Learning media is needed that supports students in practicing their skills in Computational Thinking. The use of game media or other technologies such as Virtual Reality has the characteristics that it can be developed and implemented as a new alternative in the delivery of the learning process. The purpose of this research is to develop an educational game Computational Thinking based on VR Computhink to improve students' computational thinking skills. The research uses the R&D method combined with the ADDIE product development model with stages covering Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subject of the media test on class VI students using the SUS method and testing of material experts and media experts by collecting data using a questionnaire. It was found that the VR-based educational game Computhink obtained an assessment result from students with a score of 80.56 while material experts obtained a score of 95% in the aspect of learning media. Media experts obtained an average score of 87.50% for the learning design aspect and 88.00% for the learning communication aspect. Indonesia is a country which has many islands and diverse cultures. Each province in Indonesia has special character that can be differentiate it from other provinces. In learning Social Sciences (Social Sciences) at the elementary school level, it discusses the culture that exists in Indonesia, but when observations are made to schools, the learning system that currently used is still less modern and attractive. With the current learning system, more interesting and modern media are needed, the purpose is to increase student interest in learning process. The purpose of this article is to develop a-based-based learning media for the introduction of Indonesian culture web GIS as a medium to help students increase their enthusiasm for learning and get to know Indonesian culture on a desktop basis. The method used in this web development is Research and Development with ADDIE concept. The first stage is a needs analysis. The second stage is designing web using use-cases. The third stage is development web. The fourth stage is the implementation of creation web. The fifth stage is evaluation to determine the feasibility of the web that has been created. The purpose of the present study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Metacognitive Awareness of Mathematics Learning Questionnaire (MAMLQ). The focus of the questionnaire was to measure students' knowledge of cognition and regulation of cognition in mathematics learning. The study used convenient samples of 532 secondary school students from five schools in three different urban cities in Indonesia. A preliminary 63-item questionnaire was developed as an item pool. Exploratory Factor Analysis generated inconsistent results according to the existing theory. Subsequently, Monte Carlo Parallel Analysis was implemented and provided satisfactory findings. As a result, 44-item MAMLQ was formed with moderate to excellent internal consistency. The sub-factors of knowledge of cognition and regulation of cognition were identified, and it explained at least 40% of the total variance. Consequently, the MAMLQ is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring students' metacognitive awareness in mathematics learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

E-learning has become a compulsory learning model for almost all universities in Indonesia since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia. To improve the online learning process, universities need to carry out evaluations, such as measuring student readiness for e-learning. This study was conducted to identify indicators of student readiness in using e-learning, measuring student readiness scores in using e-learning, and finding out whether differences in gender, cohort by the entry year, and faculty affect e-learning readiness. This research used instruments that have been used in several previous studies, which consist of five dimensions namely Computer Self-Efficacy, Self-Directed Learning, Motivation, Learner Control, and Online Communication Self Efficacy. The respondents were students from X University (a private university) drawn proportionally from all faculties based on the number of students per faculty. The results showed that the e-learning readiness score in X University is good, which is in line with the fact that X University has been partially implementing e-learning before the pandemic period. In X University, gender and cohort entry year factors do not affect e-learning readiness scores, while faculty has an effect. Being on the Equator line makes Indonesia a tropical climate country with an abundant resource in regards to lighting systems from nature. However, regarding the lighting system in a room, especially classrooms which main concepts in the learning process must be supported by a good lighting system to support the reading process of students. The lighting process in the learning space is an important point in supporting teaching and learning activities. The unfavorable impact of a poor lighting system is the existence of eye damage for active users of the room. The purpose of this research is to develop an automatic room lighting system using the light approach of a room in a condition. The proposed research method for this research is qualitative research and the software development method used the waterfall method with Arduino support system to create the automatic system. The design of this room lighting automation system is expected to be able to provide more value for room users (students and lecturers). The user's lighting sensitivity system in the room will determine the typology of people in the room as users. A joint curriculum between two or more universities is a program developed in order to increase the capability of graduates with broadened knowledge in their field, taste an international atmosphere and also increase their networking for the global challenges. As a part of internationalization strategy, this program can be described as the exchanges of teaching/learning process and the new knowledge between the countries. These programs are built on the principle of deep academic collaboration and bring important benefits to students (individuals), institutions, national and regional education systems. Institut Teknologi Nasional Bandung (ITENAS Bandung) – Indonesia and Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences/Magyar Agrár és Éllettudományi Egyetem (MATE) – Hungary, have been initiated to develop a joint curriculum program, since 2018, when ITENAS Bandung got a competitive RISTEKDIKTI grant (Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia) to develop a joint curriculum of Mechanical Engineering, for the MSc Program. The prerequisite to establish this program, both universities should have a great relationship, at first. The process was carried out by mapping and harmonizing the curriculum (evaluation of the course subjects each semester) while comparing the learning achievements, arrangement the difference of credit number and definition in both universities. Furtherly, this concept is enabling students from ITENAS and MATE take part the mobility program (reciprocal principle), and possible to get a Joint/Double Degree, with predetermined rules, and in the end of study, the students will get 2 (two) certificates (from ITENAS and MATE). The Indonesian archipelago has many cultures that stretch from Sabang to Merauke. Indonesian culture has been taught at school since primary school, namely in arts and culture subjects, as an effort to preserve the culture of the Indonesian archipelago. However, due to the globalization, students began to lose interest in ethnical arts and culture subjects. In the last few years, there have been many studies on learning the culture of Indonesia using games as a medium. After conducting a search, we collected 64 literatures. The collected literatures were then selected. This selection process is based on the title, abstraction, and purpose. There are 20 literatures that meet the selection criteria, so they are included in the literature review. The development of educational games as learning media aims to motivate students' interest in learning about arts and culture subjects in school. As an actual learning process is not only carried out at schools between teachers and students but can be anywhere and with anyone, some developers prefer a game genre that can be played anytime and with other person. One of game genre that allows multiplayer is a board game, and it is suitable for children as the target audience. This literature review was made to review the literature on previous research on Indonesian cultural education games to grasp the current trend of research in terms of scope, genre, and platform. Learning in Indonesia is sluggish, stagnant, unsatisfactory, and too teacher-centered, including Arabic, which prompted the Indonesian government to provide a solution by implementing an independent learning program. The government has provided education about the implementation of independent learning by holding a teacher teacher program. However, not many Arabic teachers have been recruited into the program. As a result, most Arabic language teachers still do not know how to organize independent learning in Arabic learning. Role models in the preparation and determination of independent learning strategies are needed, especially in learning Arabic writing skills. This study discusses how to implement independent learning, in this case using the differentiation method in learning Arabic writing skills. The method used is a case study in a public high school in Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The results of this study give us an idea that the thing that needs to be done before determining the method is to know the diversity of individuals in the class. So that the teacher uses the method of differentiation so that learning objectives are achieved. So that the same learning objectives can be achieved by each individual in the class, what is done by the teacher is by giving assignments to produce different products but still with the same learning goal. Currently, a manipulative is commonly used in mathematics education as a supported tool for teaching and learning. With engaging natural interaction of a concrete manipulative and advantages of a learning cycle approach, we proposed the concrete manipulative-based learning cycle unit to promote mathematics learning. Our main objectives are to observe possibilities on the use of a concrete manipulative in learning geometry, and to assess students' understanding of a specific topic, angle properties in a circle, of secondary level students. To meet the first objective, the concrete manipulative, called CricleBoard-Pro, was designed. CircleBoard-Pro is built for easy to writing on or deleting from, accurate angle measurement, and flexible movement. Besides, learning activities and worksheets were created for helping students to learn angle properties in a circle. Twenty eighth graders on a lower secondary school in Indonesia were voluntarily involved to learn mathematics using CircleBoard-Pro with the designed learning activities and worksheets. We informally observed students' performance by focusing on criteria of using manipulative tools in learning mathematics while the learning activities were also observed in terms of whether they work and which step of activities need to be improved. The results of this part showed that CircleBoard-Pro complied the criteria of the use of the manipulative in learning mathematics. Nevertheless, parts of learning activities and worksheets need to be improved. Based on the results of the observation, CircleBoard-Pro, learning activities, and worksheets were merged together and became the CircleBoardPro embedded on 5E (Engage - Explore - Explain - Elaborate - Evaluate) learning cycle unit. Then, students understanding were assessed to reach the second objective. Six ninth graders from an Indonesian school in Thailand were recruited to participate in this study. Conceptual tests for both pre- and post-test, and semi-structured interview were used. Students' pre- and post-test answers were analyzed not only by descriptive statistics but also in qualitatively discussion. The dialogues between the interviewer and interviewees were transcribed and analyzed to find in-depth understanding. Finally, we can conclude that the participated students had better comprehension of angle properties in a circle even they could not perform proof by themselves.
