This paper outlines student's entrepreneurship skills in biology classroom employing visible creative thinking skills as a learning framework that can give an overview to students about the role of the field of Biology to advance the nation's economy. Visible creative thinking skills itself has the meaning of clarifying or showing the stages of student thinking in solving a problem creatively. The visible creative thinking skills is done using creative thinking diagrams to generate entrepreneurial ideas that apply the concept of Biology in solving a problem. Students entrepreneurship skills were measured by technical skills in adaptability, listening skills, work organizing skills, and personal skills in inner-control, self-discipline, risk-taking. To identify those indicators, this paper administrated one group pre-posttest design and mixed-method approach using questionnaires, reflective essays, and interviews. The study was conducted at SMAN 9 Malang and the participants consisted of 33 tenth grade students, specifically 15 men and 18 women. Interestingly, students showed not different results for entrepreneurship skills after visible creative thinking skills framework applied in explaining that ethnography, family background, and individual factors have a big impact. India being the youngest nation in terms of human resources is still grappling with the challenge of skilling 109 million across 24 sectors by 2022. Only 4.69 % have undergone formal training. The present capacity to train stands at 3.4 million people per year while over 12 million people join the workforce annually. A little over 92 per cent of our workforce is engaged in unorganized labour. The beginnings are made but there are inadequacies and gaps existing in the Skilling implementation process which hamper the speed and impact of skilling mechanism in the Country and consequently the low industrial growth. The current paper is a case study of Sikkim which attempts to examine the differences in the perceptions of various stakeholders against a few glaring inadequacies and gaps in the execution of skilling mechanism in the State. These inadequacies are-inadequate information on availability of skill courses to the trainees, lack of clarity on eligibility criteria, employment avenues and training centers, absence of documentation information and other formalities. These were highlighted in a focus group discussion which was conducted in 2016 in the Directorate of Capacity Building Skill State Department with representatives of the various stakeholders before undertaking a conclusive study to highlight differences across stake-holders in priority of identified inadequacies. Since a decade ago, there has been an everlasting manoeuvre to nurture cognitive skills among students across the globe using technology. Technology-assisted cognitive augmentation had crafted an online learning environment (OLE) as one of interactive learning tool equipped with unlimited learning materials for students to learn, engage and ultimately construct their cognitive skills. The dynamic nature of education from being knowledge-centred to nowadays fluidity of cognitive skills further intensifies the role of OLE in information age education ecosystem, as pedagogy per se is seem inadequate to nurture cognitive skills. The purpose of this paper is to present an OLE prototype, designed and developed to nurture cognitive skills among students in chemistry. The purpose of this systematic review is to analyze the researches trends on undergraduate students’ science process skills (SPS) on biology with the consideration on the types of SPS, the assessment and its validation. The review followed a PRISMA approach. The article selection had been done systematically by searching the research paper published in online database within 2000 - 2019. By using the keywords “science process skills” and “biology”, it was found 52 articles in Google scholar, 60 articles in Science direct, and 217 articles in Taylor & Francis Online. Those articles then were selected based on some inclusive criteria, such as SPS, higher education, biology or science, and retained 19 papers matched. The selected papers were reviewed by scoring each paper to come out with the quality and relevant papers. The result of the review shows that the integrated SPS were mostly found as the type of SPS investigated in the undergraduate level, with the focus on formulate the hypothesis, interpret the data, interpret the model, experiment, define operationally, identify and control variable. The trend of SPS in Indonesia is similar with the SPS promoted by the AAAS but tends to be simplified, while in the other developed and developing countries it varies according to the learning topics. The scope of the research covered some topics on biology and science. The most instrument used to measure the SPS is Science Process Skill Test (SPST), a multiple choice, questionnaire, and interview protocol. An expert judgement is the most common validation used in Indonesian research. The study about SPS for undergraduate students should be further done on developing learning design, and modules with instructional design focusing on detail training on each skill of SPS and covered various topics in biology. The paper contains the study of Multi skill training to the employees, which includes equalizing the work pressure among the employees and managing the shortage of employees in the manufacturing process. A mathematical model was formed with an objective of minimizing the total expected cost of the employees in the manufacturing process. This study aims to evaluate high school students' critical thinking skills on the chemical aspects of Covid-19 issues. The research design is a survey and the data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of 41 twelfth-grade students who are majoring in Science (13 male and 28 female). They were chosen using a convenience sampling technique that originated from some regions in East Java province, namely Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, Mojokerto, and Banyuwangi. The instrument was a critical thinking skill test developed by the authors using the socio-scientific context of Covid-19. The test consisted of five multiple choices with written justification and seven essays based on Ennis indicators. The instrument has high internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha=0.75). The research findings showed that most students mastered the critical thinking skill aspect of designing a logical strategy (69.92%), while the lowest aspect mastered by students was identifying assumptions (25.20%). The results also indicated that 14.63% (6) students score was good, 78.05% (32) students got an average score, whereas 7.32% (3) students got poor scores. These results show that most students are on the average performance category in critical thinking skills, and none of them achieved excellent critical thinking skills. This study implies that teachers need extra effort to improve students' critical thinking skills using relevant issues or context, such as socio-scientific issues. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Solving ill-structured problems is a skill needed to maintain the competitiveness of students in the current technology and information era, where a number of problems that occur are ill-structured problems. Solving ill-structured problems is a skill that combines various high-level thinking and learning skills, such as argumentation, creativity, and critical thinking into a single unit of action with the aim of obtaining the best possible solution. Several studies have shown the difficulties students face in applying ill-structured problems that are related to the lack of student engagement to problems, given the complexity and novelty of the problem. Students have been more accustomed to well-structured problems that only involve the lower aspects of their thinking skills. High interest and involvement are required when encountering ill-structured problems. Engagement can be strengthened by enriching the context of problems with problems that encourage their involvement affectively and emotionally, so students are interested and challenged to overcome them. This paper discusses the possibility of a combination of Socioecientific Issues (SSI) as a context for ill-structured problem solving, considering that learning with SSI as context utilizes controversial problems that are directly related to the daily lives of students where they are already engaged in the issues. Through SSI as a learning context, it is suspected that students’ motivation and attitude towards science will increase, encouraging them to improve their cognition and metacognition process during the problem-solving process, as well as facilitating engagement in the problems. This study adopted a systematic review literature to investigate the effectiveness of PBL applied in fiqh. This study presents an elaboration of the steps on how fiqh teaching is conducted. The adoption of robotics has been becoming prominent in computational thinking literature. The modularity characteristics of lego robotics, for example, enables learners to construct their understanding of the abstraction of complex robotics parts. Educational organisations that adopt computing would be likely to introduce computational thinking as an integrated part of the regular curriculum. Organisations in the UK and the United States, for example, conceptualise the delivery of computing curricula in connection with the development of computational thinking skills that all students must learn in the 21st century. Focusing on investigating more deeply about the roles of learning computational thinking using robotics-based media, in hopes of finding new findings that can support the advance of 21st-century skills. Physics learning situations often involve many cognitive conflicts between a student’s present understandings and new information being learned. Cognitive conflict is known as an important factor in conceptual change. Therefore, it is important to help physics teachers and students develop skills and knowledge for more effective conflict management. However there is no readily available method to monitor the existence and features of cognitive conflicts that students may encounter during their learning. We focus the study on student anxiety caused by cognitive conflict so that we can improve student motivation. This study is targeted to develop an easy-to-use instrument that can be implemented in the classrooms to monitor student anxiety in cognitive conflict situations and the effects on student motivation. Evaluating students' performance only from overall examination marks does not give accurate evidence of their achievement on a particular subject. For a more detailed analysis, an instrument called Rasch Measurement Model (Rasch Model), widely used in education research, may be applied. Using the analysis map, the level of each student's ability and the level of the questions difficulty can be measured. This paper describes how the Rasch Model is used to evaluate students' achivement and performance in Vector, a subject taken by students enrolled in the Physical Science Program at the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, University of Malaya. Usually, students' understanding of the subject and performance are assessed and examined at the end of the semester in the final examination, apart from continuous assessment done throughout the course. In order to evaluate the individual achievement and get a better and accurate evidence on the performance, 28 male and 28 female students' marks were taken randomly from the final examination results and analysed using the Rasch Model. Observation made from the map showed that more than half of the questions were categorized as difficult while the two most difficult questions could be answered correctly by 33.9% of the students. Results showed that the students performed very well and their achievement was above expectation. About 27% of the sudents could be considered as having very high ability in answering all the questions, with one student being able to answer well, obtaining perfect score. The introductory physics course taken by biological science majors at UC Davis, Physics 7, was radically reformed 16 years ago in order to explicitly emphasize the development of scientific reasoning skills in all elements of the course. We have previously seen evidence of increased performance on the biological and physical science portions of the MCAT exam, in a rigorous systemic physiology course, and higher graduating GPAs for students who took Physics 7 rather than a traditionally taught introductory physics course. We report here on the increased performance by a group of biological-science majors in a general chemistry course who took the first quarter of Physics 7 prior to beginning the chemistry course sequence compared to a similar group who began taking physics after completing the first two quarters of general chemistry. The present study explores the correlation between Meta-cognitive Self Regulated Learning strategies used by English language learners and how these strategies influence their language performances. This correlation study was carried out with 170 participants who enrolled in an English language proficiency course. The results of Pearson correlation test revealed a positive relationship between the use of Meta-cognitive strategies and the participants' level of English language proficiency. This study has yielded findings that make an original contribution to both the theory and the practice of Self-Regulated learning especially in the context of language teaching and learning. The pedagogical implications of this study will further lead to a systematic teaching of Meta-cognitive self regulated learning strategies in the L2 classrooms which hope to increase the proficiency level of L2 learners. Physics is a subject that requires practical activities assisted by a worksheet to facilitate students in learning. Physics worksheets that have been designed according to learning needs can improve Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Skills involving analyzing, evaluating, and creating are thought to be of a higher order than the learning of facts and concepts which require different learning and teaching methods. However, the current student worksheets that aim to train HOTS still using hands-on practical activities. Meanwhile, learning with practical activities in this digital era has become more comfortable because of the rapid development of technology. In projectile motion topic learning, practical activities can be carried out through computer simulation, namely, PhET. This study aims to develop "ProSim", a student worksheet for practical activities that support HOTS through PhET Simulation in projectile motion topic learning using POE learning strategy. This study using the Dick and Carey model of research and development method. The data of this study was obtained from the results of validation by learning experts. The present study aims at investigating the impact of brainstorming method on the students' questioning and inductive thinking skills as well as their learning outcomes. The quantitative approach, quasi-experimental method, and Pretest-Posttest Groups Design were used in this study. A total of 2 classes were randomly selected from 4 classes, each of which was employed as the experimental group (28 students) and control group (26 students). For data collection, the test was utilized to obtain the learning outcome while the non-test to obtain the increased questioning and inductive thinking skills. The descriptive statistics and N-Gain analysis were used as data analysis techniques. The results indicate a significant increase in the learning outcomes, significant differences in the questions, and inductive thinking skills after the instruction using a brainstorming method had been provided. An increase occurs in the questioning and inductive thinking skills between the first and third meetings. Based on the three results obtained, it is concluded that the use of brainstorming method in learning the Static Fluid material can extremely improve the students' learning outcomes, and inductive thinking and questioning skills. It is highly recommended that teachers use the brainstorming method as an alternative method in order to enhance students' learning outcomes, questioning, and inductive thinking. This research aims to determine the quality of softball hitting skills and improve knowledge about momentum and impulses in the use of instructional DVD media softball hitting techniques that are integrated with the concept of momentum and impulse material. This study uses a quasi-experimental research method. The quality of softball hitting skills is measured using an observation sheet, while the increase in students' knowledge in material momentum and impulses is measured using n-gain values from the pre-test and post-test results. The results show that the class given additional treatment in the form of instructional DVD media use is better than the control class. In measuring the quality of softball hitting skills, the results show that the experimental class contained seven students with excellent skills, six students with good skills, and three students needed improvement. Whereas in the control class there were only four students with very good skills and five students with good skills, the remaining seven students needed improvement again. As for the increase in knowledge about momentum and impulses, the experimental class with a gain value of 0.81 (high improvement) is superior to the control class with a gain value of only 0.55 (medium improvement). Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that the use of instructional DVD media on the technique of hitting a softball ball that is integrated with the concept of momentum and impulse material has a great influence on the quality of softball hitting skills and increasing knowledge about momentum and impulses. To realize our individual and collective economic aspirations skill development is critical and which at the moment is on an abysmally low proportion. This is hindering the economic development of the country. One major factor leading to low success has been found to be the lack of involvement of industries and a confusion regarding the role they need to play. To explore this issue this study has been undertaken. The objectives of this study are (a) to determine the priority of the identified industry support variables as per the expressed beliefs of the stake holders, namely teachers, industry managers and policy- makers and also whether or not they differ in their perceptions and (b) The second objective is to classify the ten variables into broader groups using exploratory factor analysis. Questionnaires were framed with ten statements (identified through a robust focus group discussion) the response for which was to be measured by various stake-holders on a five-point continuous scale. The study identifies Absorption of trained man-power and extending apprenticeship & internship as the highest priority activity for industrial interventions. It further identifies a divergence of views of stake holders in prioritizing the identified ten variables. Finally it concludes that the ten variables can be reduced to three broader classification namely providing employment and inputs and facilitating the skill mission with additional services. Mathematical literacy is the ability to apply mathematics concepts in daily life. In previous studies, teaching materials have been developed into students’ books form characterized by realistic mathematics, which can support the mathematical literacy abilities of junior high school student. This article will discuss the implementation of mathematics learning using students’ book that had been developed. The characteristics of realistic mathematics learning are: (1) the use of context; (2) the use of model; (3) utilization of student contributions; (4) interactivity; and (5) relation with other concepts. The analysis result showed that the mean of the practicality of teaching materials is very practical criteria. The learning effectiveness which is obtained from class observation during learning process is in effective criteria. While student book’s effectiveness obtained from the result of quiz scoring, assignment and daily test showed that 84% of students got scores above the minimum passing grade. An important goal of physics instruction is to facilitate the students to become an effective problem solver. However, researchers reveal that students' physics problem solving skills is quite low. In this respect, we have implemented modeling instruction to improve students problem solving skills in the topic of heat and temperature. The instruction has been piloted to 55 students of grade 12 of a high school in Batu, East Java. The students’ problem solving skills have been assessed using a rubric of problem solving developed by Docktor & Heller. By using mixed-methods, pretest-posttest analyses we found that the students’ problem solving skills increased with N-gain of 0.80. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of instructional model, initial ability, and the interaction between two variables on the scientific explanation skills on 11th grade student’s in the topic of acid-base. This research used experimental research method with 2 x 2 factorial design. The scientific explanation skills (SES) test was applied to the 60 students. The students were divided into four groups, and each group consisted of 15 students. Data analysis technique employed two ways MANOVA at significance level α = 0.05. The results show that: First, EDI instructional model gives better effect than the guided inquiry model on the students’ SES. Second, there is an influence of initial ability on SES of students. Third, there is an interaction between the instructional model and the initial ability to the SES of student. For students who have high initial ability, the guided inquiry model gives better influence to the students’ SES than the EDI one. This meta-analysis aims to summarize the results of research on the effect of problem-based learning in improving students' critical thinking on physics, chemistry and biology subjects. The influence of large size (ES) on average, the percentage of influence based on learning to the critical is greatest and the relationship between variables towards improving students' critical thinking skills in science (physics, chemistry, and biology). The research method used is descriptive with the form of survey research. In the study, studies, which can be meta-analysed concerning predefined criteria, were examined and 98 studies fulfilling these criteria were identified. The results of the data analysis resulted in an effect size of 1.2 with an effect of 83.45%. From the relationship between the variables obtained, Based on Based Learning in enhancing the ability of politics Entrepreneurs who best apply it during physics lessons, with the effect size of 1.36 categories is very high and provides an influence of 90%. In the future, it is expected that the results of this study can be a reference to review the application of PBL to improve students' critical thinking skills in science learning. Bloom's Taxonomy is the basis of learning in Indonesia, so computational thinking needs to be developed further because it is relevant to learning in Indonesia. Computational thinking skills include thinking logically, analyzing the problem-solving process, and evaluating. One tool that can facilitate CT skills is Robotics. In the industrial revolution 4.0, educational robotics became an innovation. Robotics in learning can provide many benefits and motivate students. Then, a systematic literature review is conducted which analyzes previous studies to find information about benefit using robotics based learning and at the level of students' computational thinking. In the end there are several findings, namely (1) the influence of Computational Thinking Skill in education; (2) the effectiveness of robot-based learning; (3) robotics-based learning can facilitate the development of CT skills in students; (4) robotics-based learning activity design to support computational thinking in early childhood. Learning in the 21st century has encouraged the presence of technology in education. Physics is one of the subjects that require a practicum to deliver abstract material. However, in the current physics practicum, student worksheet is still being used, which does not support high-level thinking skills and technology is not yet integrated. This study aims to produce practical worksheet equipped with augmented reality (AR) in physics material class XII odd semester. This study uses Dick and Carey model of research and development method. The data of this study were obtained from the results of validation by experts in the material, media, and learning, as well as the results of trials by teachers and students conducted with a Likert scale questionnaire. A pretest and posttest are also conducted to test the improvement of students. The product produced is worksheet equipped with AR technology that can display videos at stimulus stages, procedures, and conceptual applications by scanning images bearing the AR logo with an android smartphone. The results of the worksheet feasibility test conducted by material experts received an average percentage of 93%, the feasibility test conducted by media experts obtained an average percentage of 90%, and the feasibility test conducted by learning experts received an average percentage of 81%. The results of user trials by teachers get an average percentage of 98%, user trials by students get an average of 90.1%, and the results of pretest and posttest get N-gain of 0.72. This study indicates that the Worksheet for Students to practice higher-order thinking skills has met the criteria very well based on the assessment in terms of material, media and learning and declared fit as Physics teaching materials in class material XII odd semester. This study aims to analyze the effects psychological gender differences on the relationship between language learning strategies and their proficiency in English language for pre-university students. Previous researchers found that the more employment of language learning strategies, the more successful the learners are and those with higher level of strategy use are female rather than male. In this study, fifty-six pre-university students (22 males, 34 females) of University Malaysia Sabah participated in this study. Oxford's Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) selfreport questionnaire was adopted to identify the students' language learning strategies, whereas their proficiencies were based on their Malaysian University English Test (MUET) results. Pearson's correlation coefficient, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the t-test were utilized to make statistical interpretation about the relationship. In teaching electrostatics and electric circuits, it is necessary to introduce abstract ideas such as electric fields and electric potential before discussions of circuits can take place. The Physics Education Group at the University of Washington has found that students in introductory courses can build a functional understanding of some aspects of electric fields and potential, but their understanding of these concepts appears to falter when applied to systems involving conductors. We are studying how students talk and gesture about physics problems involving directionality. Students discussing physics use more than words and equations; gestures are also a meaningful element of their thinking. Data come from one-on-one interviews in which students were asked to gesture about the sign and direction of velocity, acceleration, and other quantities. Specific contexts are a ball toss in the presence and absence of air resistance, including situations where the ball starts at greater than terminal velocity. Students show an aptitude for representing up to 6 characteristics of the ball with 2 hands. They switch quickly while talking about velocity, acceleration, and the different forces, frequently representing more than one quantity using a single hand. We believe that much of their thinking resides in their hands, and that their gestures complement their speech, as indicated by moments when speech and gesture represent different quantities. One finding of cognitive research is that people do not automatically acquire usable knowledge by spending lots of time on task. Because students’ knowledge hierarchy is more fragmented, “knowledge chunks” are smaller than those of experts. The limited capacity of short term memory makes the cognitive load high during problem solving tasks, leaving few cognitive resources available for meta-cognition. The abstract nature of the laws of physics and the chain of reasoning required to draw meaningful inferences makes these issues critical. In order to help students, it is crucial to consider the difficulty of a problem from the perspective of students. We are developing and evaluating interactive problem-solving tutorials to help students in the introductory physics courses learn effective problem-solving strategies while solidifying physics concepts.
