Pores and weak bonding are the inherently drawbacks for thermally sprayed coating. Laser beam is an attractive approach to remelt thermal spray coating for obtaining fully dense coating with metallurgical bonding with substrate. However, defects of holes or cracks are highly inevitable with unmatching remelting processing parameters. In this work, a thermally sprayed Cr3C2-NiCr cermet coating by high velocity oxygen fuel spraying was post-processed by laser remelting with a series of varying beam energy densities from 37.5 J/mm2 to 225 J/mm2. The defect evolution was investigated by both experimental and numerical simulation methods. Large holes and through-thickness cracks were typical defects observed in the remelt coating by optical microscopy. The experimental results show that remelting-induced defects evolve into three stages with laser energy density. The effect of energy density on remelt structure was further verified with the temperature field by numerical simulation with ABAQUS code. The stress field interpreted the crack formation at periodical formation sites. The results on the defect evolution shed light on obtaining functional coatings for industrial applications.

We present a detailed study on near-infrared (NIR) reflection spectra of Cu nanowire arrays (NWAs) which are embedded in porous anodic alumina oxide templates and with pore diameters from 35 nm to 80 nm. We find that the NIR reflection of these samples is out of the frequency regime for surface-plasmon resonance induced by intra-and inter-band excitations. However, the intensity of the NIR reflection of Cu NWAs depends strongly on sample parameters and temperature. The measurements are carried out at temperatures setting to be 4 K, 77 K, 200 K, and at room temperature. The optical response of the Cu NWAs in NIR bandwidth is attributed to localized surface-plasmon oscillations and the NIR reflectance increases with temperature up to room-temperature. The physical mechanisms behind these interesting findings are discussed.

This paper investigated the damage degree and damage mechanism of aluminum sandwich plate subjected to blast loading by using numerical simulation method. Finite elements models of aluminum foam sandwich plates were established. The distortion and damage pattern of the sandwich plate under different masses of detonator were got by using LS-DYNA to simulate the destructive effect of shock wave and detonation product against sandwich plate. The results showed that the maximal deflection and overloading of the sandwich plates were different because of the changing of mass of detonator. This paper could provide some reference for the designing of sandwich structures.

This article focuses on research into thermal shock fatigue resistance and oxidation resistance of as-cast ferritic nodular iron. The results show that the number of cycles required to crack nodular iron under the action of thermal stress is significantly higher than that of grey cast iron, and the rate at which cracks spread is lower compared with that of grey cast iron. When graphite is transformed from flakes into nodules, its decreased connectivity impedes the flow of oxygen during oxidization, thereby improving its oxidation resistance.

To study the effect of Angelica keiskei chalcone (AC) on microvessel density (MVD) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression on mice hepatocarcinoma cells. Fifty mice were inoculated with hepatocarcinoma H22 cells and divided into 5 groups. Group one to three were administered orally with AC by 5, 25 and 50 mg/kg/d, respectively. Group four was given Endostar 4mg/kg/d by intraperitoneal injection and tumor control group (group five) was given with normal saline. All mice were sacrificed after 10 days. The proliferation activity of hepatocarcinoma cells was determined by methy tetrazolium (MTT) assay, and the levels of the MVD and VEGF protein expression were detected by immunohistochemistry method. The AC inhibitory rates for tumor size were 4.20%, 30.47% and 39.42% at AC treatment dose of 5, 25, and 50 mg/kg, respectively. The average MVD count was 14.2, 11.2 and 8.5 at treatment dose of 5 mg/kg, 25 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg AC, respectively. The protein levels of VEGF in mice treated with 25 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg AC were significantly decreased. The results showed that AC could inhibit tumor angiogenesis effectively and the inhibition mechanism might be associated with the down-regulation of VEGF.

With many grid-connected wind farms of Doubly-fed Induction Generator (DFIG) type taking the palce of conventional synchronous generators, the frequency control ability of the system will decrease. But the existing control strategy based on maximum wind power tracking of DFIG can not response to the deviation of the system frequency. This paper proposes a new hybrid frequency control strategy based on the research of the frequency response to the doubly fed induction wind turbine curves switching inertia control loop and the ability for the pitch angle control participating in the system primary frequency modulation. The strategy reduces the initial rate of change and the steady state error of system frequency with the combined action of the curves switching inertial control and pitch frequency control. Finally, the simulation results of the two areas with four generators validate the effectiveness of the strategy.

In order to enhance the quality of iron concentrate from magnetic separation, reverse-flotation technology is often applied in iron ore dressing plant. However, this technology has disadvantages in operating cost, energy consumption and environmental protection (Zhao Chunfu, Wu Jianghua &Wang Hui ,2005). Developing innovative equipment to process magnetite ore more-effectively is a way to get rid of these disadvantages of reverse flotation and improve the quality of iron concentrate. This paper describes the development of Complex Flashing-Field Magnetic Cleaner, a new kind of equipment based on the principle of combination of separation in magnetic field and separation in gravity field (Hao Shuhua & Jiang Wenli,2002). This innovative equipment possesses a tailor-made magnetic system and has the characteristics of a magnetic field which can strengthen the formation of magnetic agglomerations and the dispersion of gangue minerals to improve the quality of separation. The automatic control system developed specifically for this equipment can further increase the accuracy of separation and stabilize the process. Test results showed that this equipment is reliable in operation, economically beneficial and it has large potential of application.

In this study, with regard to the differences of formation stage and physicochemical properties for different high organic soft clay layers, a series of laboratory tests have been carried out to evaluate the mechanical properties of high organic soft clay in Northeast China. The conventional high-pressure consolidation and strain-controlled triaxial shear tests have been carried out to measure the compression and shear strength of high organic soft clay which formed in different ages. Furthermore, the comparisons of stress-strain relations between undisturbed and remoulded high organic soft clay samples under the confining pressure of 300kPa reveal the significant differences in compression and shear strengths of high organic soft clay at different depths, which can be interpreted by the differences in the degree of decomposition of the soil. The test results show that the degree of decomposition of high organic soft clay greatly depend on its formation stage at different depths, which is deemed to determine the mechanical properties. This study will provide a good guide to civil engineers on the constructions of the foundation.

In this paper, the self-curable unsaturated polyester was put forward as a new solution to air pollution problems caused by the cross-linking monomer’s volatilization in unsaturated polyesters (UP) industry. Two kinds of unsaturated polyesters with the vinyl double bonds at the side chain were synthesized with Itaconic acid (IA) or Itaconic anhydride (ITA) as raw materials. The first one was prepared with IA, isophthalic acid and propylene glycol (IPP-UP), and the second one was synthesized with glycidol (GL) and ITA (IG-UP). Investigation demonstrates that the latter UP resin could be self-cured through the nucleophilic addition reaction of hydroxyl groups with double bonds or the free-radical homopolymerization of double bonds when they were heated without cross-linking monomers. However, the former couldn’t. Factors on self-crosslinking activity and crosslinking mechamism of pendant vinyl bonds from IA or ITA were explored.1H-NMR and FT-IR were used to characterize.

Impedance of power line channel is the most important factor for power line communication. All kinds of household appliances randomly connect or disconnect from the network, which give rise to impedance variation on power line channel. The mismatch of impedance would reduce the performance of the signal transmission. The power network is mixed with lines and loads. In order to investigate the main factors that affect power network impedance, this paper proposed a method to measure the impedance of active household appliances. Both maximum entropy method and Particle swarm optimization (PSO) are common threshold segmentation methods which have been used not only in image segmentation, but also in multi-threshold segmentation. Maximum entropy method is time-consuming, PSO may easily get trapped in a local optimum. In view of this concerning issue, we propose the PSO and maximum entropy are combined to make improvements on the PSO introduced in expansion model and opposition-based module. The objective functions of the maximum entropy as well as the PSO are obtained, which have improved to optimize them and search the optimal threshold combination, to achieve multi-threshold image segmentation. The results demonstrate that the new algorithm improved the segmentation speed and enhanced the robustness. And the optimizing results are stable.

Further excavation is extraordinary significant to the sustainable development of mine. For the rock slope, three-dimensional geostress in the deep mining area are presented complex and high, which were caused by previous excavation. Also, it is important to obtain the accurate geostress in mining area, which is the necessary precondition for determining the remaining ore mining scheme and the slope stability. In this paper, based on the in-situ geostress monitoring date, a 3D numerical model alongside the physical dimensions was built in finite element software FLAC3D, to accept the constitutive parameter and monitoring data, to predict the 3D stress and displacement distributions and detail failure information, to estimate stability of mining area.

Many system administrators would agree that, had it not been for hash tables, the simulation of sensor networks might never have occurred. Given the current status of real-time epistemologies, researchers compellingly desire the development of write-back caches, which embodies the confirmed principles of hardware and architecture. We propose a system for digital-to-analog converters, which we call StelaLoma. Even though it at first glance seems unexpected, it is derived from known results.

To simulate arbitrary three dimensional models, this technology of triangular polyhedron 3D human-computer interaction modeling was proposed. Achieving the technology has following three steps. Firstly, the coordinates of 3D nodes were projected onto the plane by the method of 3D geometric transformation. Then, this information which was made up of triangles and sides and nodes was picked up by 3D picking methods. Finally, the technique of rubber membrane was used to modify the nodes of triangles, and the 3D modification was achieved by means of anti-transformation. Moreover, the method of global and local mesh encryption was also designed to modify 3D topology structure, which was aimed at better simulate complex 3D models. This technology combined geophysical forwarding compute and formed the method of data-interaction simulation, which provided a means of visualization for geophysical data interpretation.

A simple and non-toxic way was employed to fabricate electrical conductive TiO2materials based on a chemical reduction process here. Glucose was selected as a reductant to reduce AgNO3to obtain Ag-modified TiO2nanoparticles. The properties of the nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, TEM, and fourpoint probe resistivity meter. The results show that the TiO2was successfully modified by Ag nanoparticles, and the major crystalline phase of TiO2in the Ag-modified TiO2composite is anatase phase. The size of Ag increased with the AgNO3concentration increasing. Compared with pure TiO2, the Ag modified TiO2has a higher electrically conductive. In principle, it is expected to be a general and versatile approach to increase the conductivity of insulator or semiconductor.

The complicated motion of the gyroscope includes the rotation, the precession, the nutation and the sliding motion which are coupled, and it is affected by the lash-force by the whip. Taking the gyroscope which is moving stably as the research subject, according to the motion characteristics of the gyro’s rotation and precession, the gyro is assumed to be the two-force bar, and the coupled relationship of the gyroscope is analyzed quantitatively. The three-dimensional complicated motion in the different categories is analyzed. The nonlinear differential equations in the different categories is derived and linearized by the minor variables method, and then the three-dimensional motion equations on the rotation, precession, nutation and slipping of the gyroscope in the different categories is established. Take the big gym gyroscope as the example, the influence of the force, time and position of the whip on the motion state of the gyroscope is analyzed in detail, and provides the basis for the design of the gyroscope.

In order to phytoremediation the soils contaminated by arsenical chemical weapons abandoned by Japan at some region of Jilin Province and ready for the estimate of the ecological safety, this paper analyzed organic species in soil with GC-MS, disscussed extraction and testing of inorganic arsenic in soil with hydrochloric acid, studied species of arsenic in soil such as available forms, valence state, and combined state, and inferred conversion process of arsenical chemical agent. The results indicate that after simple destroying and long time burial, almost all arsenical chemical agents in soil at this region are converted into inorganic arsenic due to explosion, burning, natural oxidation and microorganism, which primarily exists as As (V). Organic arsenic was only detected at where shells were buried (destroyed), in leaded shells and contaminated soil, with its content 3.65%~32.03%; Organic arsenic content of soil in other part is less than 10%. In contaminated soil of this region, water soluble arsenic and available arsenic extracted from disodium hydrogen phosphate take 0.81~2.58% and 7.49~15.96% of total arsenic respectively. Exchangeable As and binding As (Al-As, Fe-As, reducible As and Ca-As) take 40% of total arsenic, residual As takes 49.38~66.43%. The results may be used as basis for determining remedy methods and assessing ecological safety at this region.

Yellow River Delta had been extensively engineered to control flooding and to protect coastal development which leaded to wetlands destruction and severe water pollution. The Yellow River Conservancy Commission decided the water supplement to the wetland during the water and sediment regulation period in 2010. In order to study the water quantity and distribution simulation, one-dimensional SOBEK model was used to flood simulation in the Yellow River Delta. The Re of the daily water level at four stations for the calibration period were 0.6%, 2.3%, 2.9%, 7.0%,.which indicated that the simulated values matched very well with the observed values. The SOBEK model had predicted the water level volume in 2003 within the range of acceptable accuracy. It indicated that the one-dimensional method SOBEK model was suitable for the flood simulation.
