Organizational commitment to the university of student-athlete and nonstudent-athlete undergraduate college students was measured by modifying an established measure of affective, continuance, and normative commitment. Student-athletes reported significantly higher levels of overall organizational commitment as well as both affective and normative commitment. Length of time at the university and transfer status, however, yielded different patterns in commitment. Implications of these relationships for student life programming and comparisons with employee commitment are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Infrequent and ineffective usage of IT after initial adoption may incur undesirable costs or results in waste of effort to develop the IT. Most of information systems (IS) continuance models try to define how users accept IS and use it. The aim of these models which originally were developed for marketing research and modeling of repurchase behavior of consumer, is evaluation of loyalty and continuance in individual level of system usage or measures of acceptance of systems is used for studying continuance of systems while effective factors of continuance for organizational user are ignored. Therefore, in this research for identifying affecting factors on continuance of information systems, the main factors are defined by reviewing literature, and through semi-structured interview independent variables are defined including independent variables like governor, manager, leadership style, technology change, strategy, users, customer expectation, culture, law, transparency, system position and mediator variables like positive and negative switching costs and the model is made by using Atlas T/I software in the last step, final model of research is customized in the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. Through the bibliometric and co-citation analysis, this paper offers a review of science achievements in the area of e-learning continuance, with focus on identification of the field relevance, authors and most cited and co-cited papers, as well as the identification of roots this research area is based on. Based on co-citation network, which chronologically starts with Ajzen’s theory of 1975, another contribution can be drawn from this paper. That contribution leads to a conclusion that Ajzen’s Theory of planned behavior is a starting and adequate basis for all identified research and creates a main recommendation for upcoming researches. Abstract: Social network sites games (SNGs) are growing in acceptance for users, but the intention to continue using such games requires further exploration because of the acceptance–discontinuance anomaly phenomenon (i.e., users discontinuing use of SNGs after initially accepting them). The study integrates interaction and value as the antecedents of user satisfaction and flow experience; furthermore affects the SNG continuance. The results reveal the importance of flow experience, which plays a mediation role and produces indirect effects in predicting the SNGs continuance in the model. Based on the results, practical implications for SNG marketing strategies and theoretical implications will be provided. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Drawing on Uses and Gratifications (UG) Theory and Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DIT), this study aimed to augment an exploration of individual user needs based on UG constructs with an analysis of the material characteristics of the innovation based on DIT constructs to provide a comprehensive explanation of people's motivations underlying various Twitter usage levels and frequencies. Whereas previous literature on Social Network Sites (SNS) have explored individuals' motivations underlying initial adoption, the equally interesting and relevant question of use (dis-) continuance has so far been largely overlooked. To fill this void in the literature, this study compares active users that have continued to use Twitter and inactive users that initially adopted, yet discontinued usage of Twitter. This study provides insights into different usage levels and frequencies through an investigation of 1) users' perceptions of the medium, 2) users' expected outcomes associated with the medium's use, and 3) the role and effect of mobile access. An analysis of 130 surveys with Partial Least Squares (PLS) and R² partitioning revealed that an understanding of adoption and use (dis-) continuance of Twitter requires us to account for both user-related motivations (UG) and perceived characteristics of the medium (DIT), as combining UG and DIT increased explanatory power (R²) for the overall sample. Furthermore, our findings showed that inactive users' initial adoption and subsequent discontinuance was solely impacted by user-related needs, (i.e. UG constructs), whereas active users' continued use was largely motivated by technology characteristics, (i.e. DIT constructs). Finally, our study revealed significant differences between active and inactive users in terms of the devices and platform used for accessing Twitter, with active users reporting a significantly higher use of mobile devices. We tested side-bet conceptualization of commitment within the context of three-component model of organizational commitment. Employees (N=202) from various organizations completed a survey including measures of (a) seven categories of side bets (b) affective, normative, and continuance commitment, and (c) turnover intention. The findings provided strong support for Becker’s theory. All seven side-bet categories correlated significantly with a revised measure of high-sacrifice continuance commitment, and structural equation modeling analyses revealed that the relations between the side bets and turnover intention were fully mediated by commitment. The findings also address issues pertaining to the dimensionality and measurement of continuance commitment, and help to explain relations among the three components of commitment. The purpose of this study is to examine possible factors that influence continuance intention to use a smartwatch. The proposed research model is based on the expectation confirmation model adapted to include individual mobility, perceived aesthetics, and habit. The sample consisted of 348 actual users of smartwatches and structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to test the research model. The results indicate that perceived aesthetics, satisfaction, individual mobility, and habit are associated with individuals' continuance intention to use smartwatches. Surprisingly, perceived usefulness does not directly influence continuance intention of smartwatches. The implications for both theory and practice are provided based on the findings. • Based on IS post-adoption literature, an integrated research model was developed. • Data was collected from 348 actual smartwatch users in Turkey. • Aesthetics is relatively more important than usefulness for continuance. • Continuance intention strongly related to habit and satisfaction. • Individual mobility significantly influences continuance intention.
