This article reports on vendors' expectations from the textile show to be held in New York City in October 2004. Several vendors said they were positive going forward, despite a war in Iraq, rising oil prices, a soft labor market and a decline in consumer confidence. Among the company's introductions is Cortina, soft windows made of woven cotton in an assortment of colors, including pink. Barry Leonard, president of the company Ex-Cell Home Fashions, is equally bullish, launching new product categories-window fashions, kitchen textiles and area rugs, and supporting it with a stronger sourcing network overseas and a new factory in China.
