- Abstract
Myths are basically the folklores that beautifully narrate the culture, life, and customs followed by ancient people which are perceived in deities that are worshipped. India is well regarded for its diverse and rich culture across the world. Myth in Indian context reflects cultural and religious tales which one generation passed on to another and, as a result, there are several variants of Indian mythology. The contemporary Indian English novelist, Amish Tripathi recreated Indian mythology by mixing it with social fantasies and scientific facts. He adopted mythical characters related to Lord Shiva and other deities in his novels to depict an ideal society. Hence, this paper is aimed to analyse the recreation of myth in Indian context through Amish Tripathi’s Shiva Trilogy. It is the best-selling mythological fiction written by Amish Tripathi. This paper also argues that his treatment of mythology in his novels is more of a frame of modern issues of 21
st century rather than just a historical retelling. This paper also concludes that Tripathi has turned mythology of India into a relevant scripture of 21st century by forming mythical stories after the significant events of 21st century in India and especially in South Asia. - Abstract
Literacy and library are like Siamese twins that cannot be separated. Society draw literacy skills from the libraries the same way an individual draws from his memory to meet his immediate information needs. Examined in this paper is the relevance of literacy library to the functional literacy need of the 21
st Century adult learners. Literacy library is conceptualised as a special library provision targeted at adult members of the society who have enrolled or willing to enrol in a learning programme. Key features of Literacy library are outlined, followed by brief description of specific materials relevant to the 21st century learning engagement of adult. Few studies on public library have focused on addressing problems facing adult learners in accessing library services. This paper recognised the fundamental role Literacy libraries can play in confronting the exclusion of adult learners in library provision and also provided useful insights to the peculiar nature of their literacy needs in their given context. - Abstract
This paper is a study of the LIS journals published by Emerald group of publications which originated online in the 21
st century upto the year 2015. Five such journals include Journal of Enterprise Information Management (JEIM), Journal of Intellectual Capital(JIC), Online Information Review (OIR), Performance Measurement and Metrics (PMM) and Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society (JICES). Highest publication is by OIR and 2009 produced most articles followed by 2008. Research paper tops the list in all the five journals. Single authored papers are predominant followed by two authored papers. Authors from UK contribute maximum numbers of papers and most papers have been contributed from Brunel University, UK followed by University of Hawaii, USA. Authors repeat contributions to the same journal. No author among the top-ranking authors is found to be writing for any other journal among the five journals except Bar-Ilan J. In 2005 most citations are received in the three journals except OIR and JICES where articles published in 2009 received most citations. A six-authored paper in JEIM received most citations followed by a single authored paper in the JIC. The average article length mostly ranges from 16-20 pages in all the three journals except PMM and JICES where it ranges from 11-15 pages. 59 unique keywords appear in the journals and eight keywords are repetitive. Contributions by Indians are negligible. The journals are found to have varied aims and scope and accept articles of varied interest. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

7. Art World Decentering? Cultural Production, Place, and the 21st Century Urban Field.

- Abstract
This paper advances an urban field theory of the relationship between place and cultural production that accounts for 21st century trends and artists' own practical career strategies. Using a multi-city comparative study of contemporary visual artists in two "off-center" cities - Portland, Oregon, and Nashville, Tennessee, this study challenges extant urban models of cultural production. I argue that contemporary artists are dually embedded in local scenes and a global, urban field, in which artists' career strategies require overcoming place-based market, social, and symbolic disadvantages, and in which cities themselves vary in terms of market, social, and symbolic resources, which are in turn produced and reproduced around artists' efforts to make and maintain their careers. This means that while the art world appears to be decentering, place still matters greatly, and place reputations are a stake and reward in artists' career struggles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

DIVERSITY in education ,NEOLIBERALISM ,SOCIAL justice ,MULTICULTURAL education - Abstract
This paper investigates how conceptions of 'diversity' and 'equity' in U.S. education have become amenable to global neoliberal economic educational discourses that rest on competitive global market demands. The argument outlined in this paper suggests that the approach and knowledge about and for democracy and social justice education, particularly in prominent multicultural education scholarship and practice, is increasingly commodified and risks being embedded in market rationalities. Further, this paper tries to point out the possible dangers of surrendering the goal and scope of multicultural education to neoliberal educational principals, which increasingly mirror a human capital model of society and individual subjectivity. The paper seeks to illustrate how the discourse of neoliberal multiculturalism dictates a commercial and competitive sense of social justice which also further facilitates the repression of political difference—particularly for populations that do not identify with neoliberal educational reforms—while administering mechanisms of social control through neoliberal processes of subjectification. 10. Caracterización das migracións no rural galego do século XXI.

- Abstract
The recent literature on rural migrations in Europe focuses on knowing the reasons of young population for emigrating and their consequences in the economic development of the regions. However, in Galicia there is a significant lack of research focused on the exodus of the Galician rural population in the 21st century, a fact that contrasts with the many studies on the historical migration to America and Europe. Taking as a reference the classification of the Galician municipalities according to their grade and subgrade of urbanization, a characterization of migratory movements of the population under 35 years old with origin in the sparsely populated areas was carried out. Thus, this paper aims to contribute to the knowledge of the factors behind the great population loss in the rural areas, which is crucial to deal with the challenges of the demographic problem. STEAM engines ,PLUMBING - Abstract
This paper describes the process of designing, building, commissioning and testing a small full size operational Newcomen engine built over three years by the Auckland Steam Engine Society Inc. of New Zealand. This project was to celebrate the 2012 tercentenary of the first recorded Newcomen engine in the year of 1712. Designed for educational display purposes and the need to be disassembled for transport, the construction of the engine's main framework was of bolt-together steel and timber sections supporting the principal components. These consist of cast iron cylinder, coal fired boiler, main water tank, main and auxiliary water pumps, rocking beam, valve gear, auxiliary tanks and plumbing. The engine ran even though not fully completed from the start with only minor adjustments needed during the final completion stage when a waterwheel was added to the engine making it a returning engine. Subsequent tests and experiments have proved that the buoy float system commonly fitted to the first generation of Newcomen engines with limited boiler capacity will operate the engine in single cycle operation and that it is also a useful indication of boiler pressure for the engine operator. Other tests have shown that the cylinder temperature does not vary during the engine operating cycle. This project has proven that small Newcomen engines can be made to work successfully and suggest that more ongoing research into the design of the valve gear of the early engines is required in the future. This paper explores of the current state of blended and online learning opportunities throughout the K-12 world in the United States today. The examination is predicated upon the potential of electronically-mediated learning (e-learning) to effectively prepare students for the demands of 21
st Century citizenship because of the affordances of non-traditional learning environments, created by and supported through the blended or online experience, which, in theory, inherently support the growth of critical thinking and a personalized educational experience. Findings include three themes: a call for greater clarity of what is encompassed and/or possible within each modality, a lack of large-scale data for informing decision making and practice, and a great need for professional development that goes beyond training on any isolated skill or understanding but instead focuses on an in-depth reconceptualization of pedagogy and the reality of being a modern, impactful teacher. - Abstract
Registration and regulation of healthcare professionals and practices, such as in the medical, dental and physiotherapy professions, are essentially state government functions and responsibilities. Registration of chiropractors and regulation of chiropractic practices are also state government functions and responsibilities. This paper summarises the history of government Acts which register chiropractors and regulate the practice of chiropractic in Western Australia and South Australia. It identifies, analyses and compares recent changes to these Acts and concludes that in Western Australia these changes update and develop sequential elements of administrative principles established in preceding healthcare legislation, while in South Australia changes constitute substantive compromise in the registration of chiropractors and regulation of its practices. The need for constant vigilance in the development of new emerging chiropractic legislative enactment, supported by historical understanding and appropriate representation of the chiropractic profession is underlined. • Sheds light on the contribution of a leading futurist to alternative planetary futures. • Reviews an integral approach to interpretation of the Anthropocene and civilization futures. • Critically addresses the criticism of the Western worldview and offers alternative binary opposites. • Stresses on the importance of trade-offs related to promises of advanced technology. • Suggests the development of planetary identity as a promising solution. Richard Slaughter has consistently, prolifically, passionately and wisely contributed over his impressive professional career to futures studies as an emerging knowledge base or academic discipline. He has also raised the alarm that we are short on time to keep open the possibility of alternative planetary futures. As a leading scholar, he has become the teacher or the master interpreter of all the skeptics who cast serious doubt on the assumed course of our planetary future. This paper shows why there is high quality exegesis and echo in his contribution to futures studies, following his problem statement and problem solution line of argument. Some doubt and criticism are also caste on his casting a big doubt. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Against this, the World Social Forum movements liberate human solidarity. These movements call for civil society, civil society in its emancipatory sense, to develop autonomously from the market and the state. Civil society is the domain that has to be strengthened. Civil society has to increase its capacity for self-reflection and for self-organization. Global and local civil society movements hold the key to the de-colonization of the world. The movements at the World Social Forum liberate us from the Empire of the state and market by proposing a new imagination. Thus the movements represent a revolution not only in how we understand our opponent but also in terms of how we understand human liberation. Emancipation cannot be led by the state. Liberation can only be discovered, explored and expressed by first grounding ourselves in radically democratic social movements. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
