This study reviews the literature published on job crafting using bibliometric techniques. It utilizes the papers published on the topic from 1990 to 2023, retrieved from the Scopus database. The purpose of the paper is to draw the intellectual, conceptual and social structure of the field of research on job crafting. It uses the bibliometric method to review the literature on "job crafting." The findings of the study reveal both the micro and macro aspect of the research published so far such as Europe is the epicenter of research on the topic, while experiments and questionnaires a popular choice in methods adopted. This review gives a unique view of the past and outlines a number of future directions for research on the topic and it will be of interest to existing scholars in the field as well as doctoral students who might be interested in the topic. There have been financial crises for as long as there have been economies; such crises have significant effects on the global economy. Their effects have become an attractive topic that produces much research every year. The goal of this paper is to use the bibliometrics method to explore research trends in the study of financial crises, with a focus on evaluating the caliber of research outputs by their mutual impacts and citation status. Data acquired from Scopus are used in the study. VOSViewer was used to visualize the networks and distribution of the data obtained from 5,011 articles in the financial crisis subject that were written between 1990 and 2022. The statistical findings offer a summary of citation patterns related to financial crises, including the most frequently cited publications and its network, keyword distribution, co-authorship status, bibliographic coupling analysis, and the most prestigious journals. This study aims to identify the developments and trends in financial crisis research. This bibliometric review analyzes the evolution of telepharmacy research, significantly amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. By employing bibliometric analysis, the study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state and emerging trends in telepharmacy. This approach helps in identifying key areas of growth, predominant themes, and potential gaps in the literature. Utilizing data from 330 papers (1981–2023) sourced from Scopus and analyzed with Bibliometrix™, this study applies both performance analysis and science mapping methods to examine the telepharmacy literature. The findings reveal a consistent growth in telepharmacy research, with an 8.07 % average annual growth rate. Performance analysis highlights key authors, influential works, and leading journals and countries in the field. Document co-citation analysis identifies four developmental phases of telepharmacy: emergence, take-off, expansion, and future trajectory by uncovering the intellectual structure of the field. Co-words analysis elucidates evolving conceptual structures and significant subfields over time. These findings serve to inform practitioners and researchers about the evolving landscape of telepharmacy, guiding future research and practice in this increasingly important field. • This paper examines how S&T knowledge interacts in the innovation process. • Co-citation analysis can identify potential linkages between patents and papers. • We examined the birth, death, merging, and splitting of S&T knowledge communities. • S&T knowledge interaction evolves from exploratory to recombinant and consolidated. A systematic understanding of the interaction between science and technology is beneficial for innovation policies aimed at improving the utilization of science to advance technological development. Traditional approaches primarily focus on direct citation-based linkages, often overlooking the complex, evolving nature of the interaction between scientific and technological knowledge (S&T knowledge interaction). To address this issue, we proposed a novel methodological framework utilizing co-citations between patents and papers, offering a more comprehensive insight into the S&T knowledge interaction. First, we measured the linkage between scientific and technological knowledge based on co-citations between patents and papers. Then, we identified interaction communities and analyzed their evolution. This method not only captures the potential linkages between patents and papers, but also reveals consolidated interactions and rapid changes in S&T knowledge interaction. The results highlight distinct phases in the evolution of S&T knowledge interaction, which are instrumental for understanding how S&T knowledge interaction evolve, especially in rapidly advancing fields like genetic engineering. Systemic financial risk is the risk that causes great losses to financial institutions or losses to the whole financial system. Systemic risks are contagious and non-dispersible, with a wide spread and great destructive power to the economy. With CNKI, CSSCI and WOS databases as data sources, this paper makes a visual analysis of domestic systemic financial risk research from 2010 to 2020 by means of scientific measurement and knowledge map analysis, With the help of Citespace V, it explores its research hotspots, combs its evolution path and analyzes its research trends, on this basis, it constructs a systematic integration framework, aiming at promoting the further development of systemic financial risk research. The findings of this paper are as follows: Systematic financial risk research is in a vigorous development period, and more attention is paid to the literature research of "risk measurement" and "macro-prudence"; Domestic research focuses on financial risks and financial supervision, among which Internet finance, supply-side reform and real economy are the frontier hot spots of systemic financial risks. Background and purpose: The purpose of this study is to illustrate the evolution of cyberloafing research and identify the important papers in the development of cyberloafing knowledge. Methodology: We identify a total of 116 research papers from the Web of Science (WOS) database that were published in top journals during 1997-2019. We performed citation analysis, co-citation analysis, and main path analysis to identify the most influential authors, countries, and institutions in the development of cyberloafing research, and graphically map the relationships between them. Results: Cyberloafing research has progressed through three stages which we coin the emergent stage, the exploration stage, and the burgeoning stage. We also identify the relationships between articles and identify the distinct and significant knowledge streams, 16 influential papers that are seminal or highly sighted, and we identify the authors, institutions, and countries from which the research emerged. Researchers in the United States have produced the most research, followed by China, the United Kingdom, and Australia. The National University of Singapore produced the most research in our sample, and Vivian K. Lim of the National University of Singapore was the most influential author, anchored by her seminal piece on cyberloafing and organizational justice published in 2002. Conclusion: This study is, to our best knowledge, the first to examine the development of cyberloafing research using evidence-based analysis methods. It depicts the development of the cyberloafing literature and identifies significant streams that researchers can explore in the future. We conclude that future research should incorporate more direct measures of cyberloafing, examine individual consequences caused by too much cyberloafing, such as mental health. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education have become increasingly popular among educators in recent times. Research on STEM education has been shaped by a great number of articles published across the world. This study attempts to objectively examine the STEM education literature on technical teachers' pedagogical beliefs by analysing the bibliometric data extracted from the two popular scientific databases known as SCOPUS and Web of Science core collection. This paper highlights the current research trends in this domain by identifying the most impactful documents, topics, contributing authors, journals, and countries. A bibliometric review method has been employed to analyse the scientific research published on teachers' pedagogical beliefs in STEM education. The findings reveal that this field of research is relatively new and began to publish in 1990. Recent trend shows a gradual increase in publications on the domain of teachers' pedagogical beliefs in STEM education. Online pedagogy such as blended learning and its relevant pedagogical approach i.e., gamification etc. are found to be dominant research themes related to technical teachers' pedagogical beliefs in STEM education. Also, technology integration, selfefficacy, gender issue etc. are the key research areas that were explored and studied in this domain of research. Developed countries appeared to be the dominating contributors in STEM education research. A significant number of papers in the field of scientometrics addressed the comparisons of various similarity indexes. However, there is still a debate on the appropriateness of an index compared to others, beacause of the assessment differences reported in the literature. The objective of this paper is to make a comparative analysis of the five most used similarity indexes for the three scientometric analysis types: co-word, co-citation and co-authorship. A total of 388 papers addressing similarity indexes in scientometric analysis over three decades were retrieved from the Web of Science and examined; of which 49 were retained as the most relevant according to selective criteria. The approach consisted of building cross matrices for the five indexes (Jaccard, Dice-Sorensson, Salton, Pearson, and Association Strength) for the three types of scientometric analysis. For each of these analyses, a distinction is made between papers according to their theoretical or empirical results. Furthermore, papers are classified according to the mathematical formula of the similarity index being used (vector vs non vector). In the 49 relevant papers being selected, the comparative analysis showed that there is still no consensus on the appropriateness of an index for co-word and co-authorship analyses, while for co-citation, Salton is the widely preferred one. The Association Strength is the less covered and compared to other indexes for the three analysis types. An open source computer program was developed as a tool to facilitate empirical comparative studies of indexes. Using a database with 56,163 citations, the authors categorized the empirical evidence into four different time periods and an overall representation. Consequently, this paper adopts a co-citation approach to explore the number of articles published in the field of hotel performance studies. Finally, using the VOSviewer software program, this article identifies the most popular cross-cited journals and authors. In coherence with the progressive digitalization of all areas of life, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a flourishing concept in both research and practice. Due to the increasing scholarly attention, the literature landscape has become scattered and fragmented. With a focus on the commercial application of the IoT and corresponding research, we employ a co-citation analysis and literature review to structure the field. We find and describe 19 research themes. To consolidate the extant research, we propose a research framework, which is based on a theoretical implementation process of IoT as a concept, specific IoT applications, or architectures integrated in an adapted input--process--output model. The main variables of the model are an initial definition and conceptualization of an IoT concept (input), which goes through an evaluation process (process), before it is implemented and can have an impact in practice (output). The proliferation of social media has drawn attention to social network addictions. Studies on social media addictions have been emerging across different fields, including psychology, behavioral science, and computer science. To investigate the evolution and development of the research on social media addiction (SMA), this paper constituted a bibliometric analysis of 396 articles published from 2011 to 2021. Through a cluster analysis of keywords, we identified five SMA research focuses: the influences of negative and dark personality traits (the dark triad); adolescents mental and physical health problems caused by fear of missing out; self-control under habit-driven addiction; excessive social media use induced by social anxiety; the health and behaviors in cross-addictions. We also find that the collaborative networks among authors and institutions were concentrated without significantly groupings, indicating the collaborative efficiency in SMA studies while the concentration may lead the research topics to converge. Our results show that researchers have built branches of theories to explain the prefactors of SMA, while most theories tend to pathologize SMA with personal prefactors. In the future, researchers need to find more factors other than personal characteristics in order to increase the connections of SMA research with the other fields. This paper provides an objective, systematic and holistic review of the sharing economy (SE) academic literature to uncover the theoretical foundations and key themes underlying the field by using co-citation analysis and content analysis. Sixty-six publications on sharing economy with ten papers related to tourism and hospitality from 2010 to 2015 (inclusive) have been identified. This paper revealed three broad areas of foci with sharing economy research in general: (1) SE’s business models and its impacts, (2) nature of SE, and (3) SE’s sustainability development as well as two areas of foci in tourism and hospitality specifically: (1) SE’s impacts on destinations and tourism services (2) SE’s impacts on tourists. The sharing economy has a strong intellectual tradition from lifestyle and social movement field, consumption practice and sharing paradigm. This paper presents a more robust framework and holistic understanding of the sharing economy field and calls for a new theory-informed research agenda on sharing economy to coalesce multi-level perspectives. • We propose a reproducible methodology to map scientific knowledge in Wikipedia. • We analyze how scientific knowledge is established in the field of the Humanities. • The citation average to Humanities articles in Wikipedia is lower than the general. • Of the 25 most cited journals on Wikipedia, none is open access. • History is the key specialty that connects with other areas of humanistic knowledge. The present study aims to establish a valid method by which to apply the co-citation methodology to Wikipedia article references and, subsequently, to map these relationships between scientific papers. This method, originally applied to scientific literature, will be transferred to the digital environment of collective knowledge generation. To this end, a dataset containing Wikipedia references collected from Altmetric and Scopus' Journal Metrics journals has been used. The articles have been categorized according to the disciplines and specialties established in the All Science Journal Classification (ASJC). They have also been grouped by journal of publication. A set of articles in the Humanities, comprising 25555 Wikipedia articles with 41655 references to 32245 resources, has been selected. Abstract Bibliometrics is a powerful tool for analyzing knowledge domains and revealing their cognitive-epistemological structure. Different mathematical models and statistical techniques have been proposed and tested to carry out bibliometric analyses and demonstrate their effectiveness in uncovering how fields of research are intellectually structured. These include two hybrid techniques that allow clusters of related documents obtained from a co-citation analysis to be labeled using textual data. This paper reports on the findings of a bibliometric study in which these hybrid techniques are combined to: (1) build and visualize the network of publications shaping the intellectual structure of the smart city research field by considering the first two decades of literature dealing with this subject; (2) map the clusters of thematically-related publications; and (3) reveal the emerging development paths of smart cities that each thematic cluster represents and the strategic principles they embody. The five development paths which the analysis uncovers and the strategic principles each stands on are then compared by reviewing the most recent literature on smart cities. Overall, this bibliometric study offers a systematic review of the research on smart cities produced since 1992 and helps bridge the division affecting this research area, demonstrating that it is caused by the dichotomous nature of the development paths of smart cities that each thematic cluster relates to and the strategic principles they in turn support. • A literature review of technological entrepreneurship (TE) is provided using systematic literature review's approach and bibliometric citation analysis. • Data on the most productive authors, most cited papers, contributions by geographical location and frequently cited keywords are presented. • Using network analysis and clustering, four major research clusters are identified. • Conflicting issues in current TE literature are discussed and further research avenues are suggested. Abstract: E-Science is the “science of this age”; it is realized through collaborative scientific enquiry which requires utilization of non-trivial amounts of computing resources and massive data sets. In this paper we explore the e-Science knowledge base through co-citation analysis of extant literature. Our objective is to use the knowledge domain visualization software CiteSpace to identifying the turning point articles and authors. In other words, our analysis is not solely based on tabulating the frequency of co-cited articles and authors, but the identification of landmark articles and authors irrespective of their co-citation count. The dataset for this analysis is downloaded from the ISI Web of Science and includes approx. 1000 articles. The paper presents a scientometrics analysis of research work done on the emerging area of think tanks, which are regarded as a domain of information science. Research on think tanks started during the last century and in recent years has gained tremendous momentum. It is considered one of the most important emerging domains of research in information science. We have analyzed the research output data on think tanks during 2006-2016 indexed in the Web of Knowledge™ and Scopus®. Our study objectively explores the document cocitation clusters of 1,450 bibliographic records to identify the origin of think tanks and hot research specialties of the domain. CiteSpace was used to visualize the perspective of the think tanks domain. Pivotal articles, prominent authors, active disciplines and institutions have been identified by network analysis. The present study is the first of its kind as it attempts to ascertain the current status of library and information science (LIS) research from the Chinese perspective, by focusing on English research contributions by Chinese LIS scholars. Leading contributors; individual (author) contributors; institutional contributors, and research collaborations were examined. The review comprises 564 articles published in international journals indexed by Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) from 2012-2013. Co-authorship analysis and co-citation analysis were used to draw the results. The results revealed two major findings; first, the Chinese research community is engaged in focusing on cross-national collaboration to establish their existence in international literature and establish colleague relationship with foreigner researchers. USA, UK, and Belgium are the primary counterparts of international collaborative papers. Chinese institutions have eminent professors in the LIS field who incorporate internationaloriented scholarly researches (48.04%) around the globe. Secondly, Chinese researchers have enough knowledge to conduct research, both as single authors (26.24%) and through internal academic collaboration between senior and junior researchers. The Chinese LIS research community has not paid much attention to conducting research on inter-institutional level (7.20%) and on inter-regional level (6.73%). Nevertheless, Wuhan University, City University Hong Kong, and Chinese Academy of Sciences have emerged as the leading institutions in producing LIS publications. Chinese immigrant scholars also have contributed to LIS China's international scientific collaboration. Objective - This paper investigated the intellectual structure of the cited journals by science doctoral students in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria through field-mapping mechanism namely co-citation analysis. The study also explored the relationship and its strength between the science disciplines in terms of journals that were co-referenced through bibliographic coupling analysis. The deployment of bibliographic coupling techniques with co-citation analysis was adopted to model the pattern of scientific communications among scientists and scholarly journals. Methods - The scholarly citation data were collected from science doctoral theses submitted between 2006 and 2013 across ten disciplines in the Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan. Variety of data techniques were deployed such co-citation analysis, factor analysis, and bibliographic coupling to identify the characteristics of the citation network, the subgroups that constituted the intellectual structure of the cited journals by science doctoral students, most influential journals, and degree of relation between science disciplines. Results - The bibliometric citation network analysis of science doctoral students revealed that 1,290 journals were co-cited and 40.62% journals were co-referenced within two or more disciplines. Factor analysis revealed seven subgroups and network diagram largely matches the first subgroup which constitutes 88% of the journals with total variance explained of 51.21% while other subgroups were beclouded. Conclusion - The analysis provide insights about citation network structure, the influence of some journals and the fair rate of indices of cross disciplinary journals, which is a good harbinger of relationship among science disciplines, though degree of association with each other differs. Significant surge in gold prices has attracted speculators, investors and intellectuals alike. Factors driving gold prices, the effectiveness of gold price predictions, the economic viability of gold mining, risk management using gold, and its comparisons against exchange rates and stock prices have been some of the consistent foci of researchers. Applying bibliometrics on 453 top articles published on gold between 1970 and 2021, we present a comprehensive overview of the academic discussions on one of the fast evolving research domains. In this paper, we conduct a bibliometric analysis of 3490 platform papers which appear in top business, economics, and management journals from 1990 to 2019. Influential journals, institutions, landmark papers, citation bursts are identified from the analysis. In addition to scholars from economics, strategy, and technology management communities, scholars from marketing, information systems, and operations management also participate in platform research. Moreover, the results indicate that the research focus of platform evolves from supply-side product development, product design and open innovation, goes through demand-side two-sided markets, and centers on sharing economy in recent years. The viewpoint of platform research experiences a conversion from a research object to a research context. We further develop a future research agenda for platforms, the associated technologies and social impacts. The smart home penetration rate has grown considerably across the globe. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the trends and patterns in the general smart home research corpus using data from 5167 publications published in the Web of Science indexed sources over 2001–2021. The results show that the volume and impact of studies on smart homes have grown amazingly. Across multiple disciplines, at least 82 % of the research work in this set has been cited at least once. Additionally, China has emerged as a global leader in smart home research publications and influence. The USA has also made a considerable contribution to smart home scholarship. Most of the analyzed research publications are collaborative types. The scholars affiliated with China-based institutions have a close association with those from the USA, Australia, England, and Taiwan in the global network of smart home research papers. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is identified as the leading publisher in this research field. The citation and usage count are found to be positively associated with each other. Intelligent sensors, wireless fidelity, load modeling, real-time systems, and computational modeling are identified as emerging knowledge domains in the field of smart homes. • The scientific literature on smart home has grown remarkably in both volume and importance since the beginning of the 21st century. • We provide a quantitative overview of the trends and patterns in the global knowledge domain of smart home research from a holistic perspective. • The dataset is extended using a comprehensive search strategy for the collection of literature and by covering the most recent period. • A sizable untapped potential exists to carry out more research on smart home. • We conduct a bibliometric analysis of 914 cryptocurrency papers. • Influential journals, institutions and evolution trends are identified. • New research priorities are economic applications of cryptocurrency. This paper examines the research hotspots and evolution trends of cryptocurrency-related papers published between 2009 and 2019, and identify the important journals, scholars and research findings by bibliometric analysis. The empirical results show that research priorities of cryptocurrency shift from underlying technology to economic applications currently. In addition, research institutions of cryptocurrency are mainly distributed in Europe and China with complementary research fields. In the future, advanced methods of computer science and econometrics may be applied to the research of cryptocurrency, and some specific application schemes of cryptocurrency will become new research focus. This paper aims to identify the knowledge creation and dissemination of strategic management (SM) in the hospitality literature using citation and co-citation analysis. A database of 10,782 SM-related articles and 306,701 reference appearances in seven leading hospitality journals over the period 1960–2020 was derived from the Scopus repository. Intellectual mapping of the 100 most-cited SM-related reference appearances was visualized using VOSviewer. The outcomes of this study show that hospitality-focused SM articles outweighed mainstream business-focused SM articles in the hospitality literature. Seven diverse SM research clusters were identified. SM research in the hospitality field is heavily focused on practical implications and relationship testing. Theory application and theory development are required to strengthen the current SM knowledge in the hospitality literature. • This study assesses the role of SM studies in formulating the intellectual structure in hospitality from 1960 to 2020. • Seven SM research clusters are generated. • Practical implications and relationship testing are dominant, while theory application and theory development are scarce. • Results of this study clearly showcase knowledge creation and dissemination of SM research. This analysis includes key factors impacting growth of a journal such as publication evolution and citation structure, most cited articles, leading authors, institutions and countries, related journals and ranking, key research streams in the journal, and co-citation analysis. Factors of the Technological Forecasting and Social Change journal determine the relationship between various sub-fields. Over the past two decades, the aviation sector has seen dramatic growth in demand with limited support in terms of supply, due to under-development of the larger airport infrastructure. This has led to congestion and delays at major airports across the world. The topic of 'airport capacity management' (ACM) has thereby attracted considerable scholarly attention. From our review of extant literature, we find an extensive repository of research work related to ACM, vis a vis its inherent role and the expected output. Nevertheless, extant literature has failed to conduct a systematic literature review on ACM in order to understand its evolution over time. Therefore, we analyze ACM literature in detail to grasp and evaluate the work being done thus far, using bibliometric analysis. Our analysis reveals that airport capacity, congestion, competition and ground holding problems are important keywords related to ACM. Further, using co-citation analysis we identify 5 broad clusters and thought pattern of researchers. We also propose a flowchart of literature with major research area related to ACM. This study carried out a bibliometric analysis to critically review the evolution of the agri-food supply chain (AFSC) research field over the period of 2008–2019. A set of 1236 articles was analyzed from the Web of Science database. Besides using different analytical scientometric tools (topic mapping, co-citation, co-authorship and overlay visualization networks), this study identified frequently-used keywords, new and hot research topics and frequently-studied supply chain management (SCM) practices. Frequently used keywords are food supply chain, food waste, sustainability, food safety, SCM, food industry, and food security. New research themes include contract, blockchain, internet of things, resilience, and short food supply chain, a topic that demands further research especially due to the international COVID-19 pandemic and the need of farmers to be closer to the consumers. Hot research topics, that is, subjects that have been studied in highly cited papers were also identified include life cycle assessment, environmental impact, packaging, water use, food waste prevention, food waste generation, blockchain and carbon footprint. Among SCM practices, this study observed that risk and sustainable SCM are frequently used keywords. Procurement and reverse logistics were observed in fewer studies. SCM, food waste, food quality, GHG emissions and risk management are sustainable SCM practices frequently observed. • This study uses topic mapping, co-citation, co-authorship and overlay visualization. • New topics include contract, blockchain, IOT, resilience, and short food supply chain. • Hot topics include LCA, environmental impact, packaging, water use and blockchain. • Frequently-studied SCM practices include risk and sustainable SCM. • SSCM practices are focused on food waste, food quality and GHG emissions. The research field of social simulation comprises many topics and research directions. A previous study about the early years indicated that the community has evolved into a differentiated discipline. This paper investigates the recent development of social simulation as reflected in Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation (JASSS) publications from 2008 to 2014. By using citation analysis, we identify the most influential publications and study the characteristics of citations. Additionally, we analyze the development of the field with respect to research topics and their structure in a co-citation analysis. The citation characteristics support the continuing highly multidisciplinary character of JASSS. Prominently cited are methodological papers and books, standards, and NetLogo as the main simulation tool. With respect to the focus of this research, we observe continuity in topics such as opinion dynamics and the evolution of cooperation. While some topics disappeared such as learning, new subjects emerged such as marriage formation models and tools and platforms. Overall, one can observe a maturing inter- and multidisciplinary scientific community in which both methodological issues and specific social science topics are discussed and standards have emerged. This paper looks at intellectual connections in tourism studies through a co-citation analysis of its source knowledge. Reference sources from articles in Annals of Tourism Research are analyzed to describe source subject clustering and evolution over the last two decades. The subject clustering, connections and evolutions of twelve major source knowledge domains (namely, authenticity, tourist experiences, tourism planning, resident attitudes, tourism impacts, tourism area lifecycle, consumer behavior, backpacker tourism, performance approach, paradigms in tourism, dark tourism, and mobility) are visualized, described and discussed by four lustra (1998–2002, 2003–2007, 2008–2012, and 2013–2017).
