Metal nanoparticles (MNPs) have gained significant attention due to their multifunctional properties and broad applications in various fields. In this study, we present a novel and sustainable approach for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using waste materials, dried banana pith extract (BPE) and rice water. The synthesised AgNPs exhibit a size of 43 nm and zeta potential of −24.1 mV. A maximum temperature rise of 4°C with an efficiency of 41% is achieved within a short time by the photothermal activity. The qualitative colorimetric detection of Fe3+ and its quantitative spectroscopic detection are achieved in a linear detection range of 20–80 μM and with a limit of detection of 8.5 μM. The sensing mechanism is explained in terms of cooperative binding of Fe3+ ions to BPE-AgNPs. A homogeneous, flexible and stable AgNP-rice starch gel is formed. This research explores the eco-friendly synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Chrysanthemum extract, emphasizing its application in antimicrobial treatments. The study primarily focused on assessing the effect of extract concentration on nanoparticle characteristics. The synthesized AgNPs, at higher Chrysanthemum extract concentrations (up to 15%), exhibited a notable decrease in size, from 48.5 nm at 2% to 22.1 nm, and an increase in yield, achieving 2.24 mg/mL. The AgNPs showed a significant antibacterial effect, with the lowest IC50 value of 2.08 µg/mL against Vibrio cholerae, demonstrating a broad-spectrum efficacy. Advanced characterization techniques like SEM and FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the morphological integrity and phytochemical capping of the nanoparticles. The study successfully highlights the potential of Chrysanthemum extract not only as a sustainable source for nanoparticle synthesis but also in enhancing the biocompatibility and efficacy of AgNPs, paving the way for their application in medical and environmental fields. In this research, a novel biogenic strategy for decoration of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) on metal-organic frameworks (MOF) was suggested. The proposed protocol depended upon using of propolis as a green reducing agent for immobilization of Ag NPs on MOF. The XRD and SEM analyses were employed to identify the crystallinity and morphology of the fabricated MOF@Ag material, respectively. The MOF@Ag was utilized as an effective catalyst for the catalytic hydrogenation of 4-nitrophenol as a toxic pollutant using potassium borohydride. 4-Nitrophenol was completely reduced in 50 s, as confirmed by UV-Vis experiments. The relationship between the ln(A t /A 0) and reaction time was found to be linear, indicating that the reduction of 4-nitrophenol with the MOF@Ag nanocatalyst followed a pseudo-first-order kinetic. In addition, the green prepared nanocomposite exhibits consistent catalytic activity for a minimum of five cycles in the hydrogenation of target pollutant. The study also explored the anti-cancer property of the MOF@Ag on the common human colon cancer cell lines (HT-29 and HCT-116). The MTT assay studies on cell viability indicated that the MOF@Ag exhibited notable cytotoxicity versus colon cancer. Biosynthesized nanoparticles are receiving attention because of naturally existing secondary metabolites from plants that support green synthesis and their biological applications. Hence, the Objective of this paper as to biosynthesize and characterize silver nano-composites of Enantia chlorantha extracts using appropriate standard techniques. The results of the FTIR research revealed significant heterogeneity in chemical shifts among the functional groups, indicating changes in chemical surroundings. Furthermore, the GC-MS analysis showed that the extract and Ec-AgNPs had different numbers of compound peaks: the extract had 28 peaks, while Ec-AgNPs had 32 peaks. Ec-AgNPs showed more antibacterial activity than the extract, although having equal phytochemical contents, suggesting their potential for medicinal uses. The field of bio-fabricated noble metallic nanoparticles (NPs) has gained significant attention in applied research due to their eco-friendly and biocompatible nature. This study focuses on employing a green synthesis method to produce silver and gold nanoparticles (bio-fabricated) using a Mangrove plant extract and assessing their insecticidal and growth-inhibitory effects for environmentally friendly pest control. The resulting NPs underwent comprehensive characterization through various spectroscopy techniques. The morphology of both silver and gold mediated nanoparticles of Avicennia marina leaf extract displayed a spherical shape, with average sizes measuring around 70-80 nm and 95-100 nm, respectively. Regarding cytotoxicity, the inhibitory effects of silver nanoparticles were less than that observed by the extract alone while gold nanoparticles showed stronger cell growth inhibitory effects on splenic cells. The hepatic toxicity of silver and gold nanoparticles showed significant toxic effects as compared to A. marina extract alone. Notably, as prepared silver nanoparticles exhibited substantial larvicidal toxicity as compared to gold nanoparticles, when tested against fourth instar Culex pipiens larvae. These biocompatible silver and gold nanoparticles prepared from A. marina leaf extract hold promise for future applications as larvicides to effectively control mosquito species. Infected wounds pose significant challenges in clinical settings due to the risk of complications and delayed healing of wounds. The most common wound dressings are cotton balls and gauze, and yet these traditional wound dressings have inherent shortcomings including low antibacterial properties, less oxygen permeation, mechanical properties, and moisture content essential for wound healing of infected wounds. Herein, we fabricate polyvinyl alcohol/chitosan/pectin (PVA/CH/PEC) hydrogel loaded with green-synthesized nanometals, and synthetic antibiotics for the treatment of infected wounds with enhanced mechanical properties, synergistic antibacterial properties, higher moisture, and oxygen permeation content. The silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), synthesized via sea buckthorn leaf extract, and ciprofloxacin were incorporated in the bio-nanocomposite hydrogels. The particle size of AgNPs was found to be in the range of 15 to 42 nm. The synthesized bio-nanocomposite hydrogels confirm its biocompatible nature because of reduction in the percentage hemolysis from 1.7% to 1.4% and cell viability exceeding 87% in PVA/CH/PEC and poly vinyl alcohol/chitosan/pectin–Silver/ ciprofloxacin (PVA/CH/PEC-Ag/cipro) hydrogel membranes, respectively. Microscopic observation of PVA/CH/PEC/Ag-Ciprofloxacin hydrogels demonstrated the last stages of regeneration and skin reformation towards normal skin as compared to hydrogel scaffold without ciprofloxacin. This study explores the effect of silver nanoparticles on heat transfer and flow behavior within the context of the Ellis fluid model. It specifically considers electroosmotic forces in a nonuniform divergent channel with compliant walls. The analysis involves studying thermal transport in silver-blood nanofluid flow, using MATHEMATICA 13.2 software to obtain exact solutions for velocity and temperature distribution. Findings reveal that certain parameters, such as wall damping and wall elastic properties, increase skin friction, while compliant wall parameters generally reduce flow velocity. Additionally, wall rigidity and tension parameters lead to larger trapped boluses. Notably, a 1% concentration of nanoparticles enhances heat transfer by up to 13.75%, offering control over heat transfer rates. This research introduces a novel perspective by examining compliant wall impacts on heat transfer analysis in the context of electroosmotic flow within the Ellis fluid model, incorporating silver nanoparticles with potential therapeutic applications due to their antibacterial properties. As a commonly-found pathogen in periodontal disease, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans has been reported with several antibiotic resistance. Thus, to develop an alternative and protective therapy for A. actinomycetemcomitans infections is urgently needed in dentistry. In this study, we sought to synthesize a silica-based material to deliver silver nanoparticles for antibacterial purposes. Also, the bioactivities were examined via analyzing the formation of hydroxyapatite. The 80S/Ag powders were prepared by the evaporation-induced self-assembly method, with Si, Ca, P, and Ag composition ratios of 80, 15, 5, and 1/5/10 (mole percentage), respectively. The nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, transmission electron microscope, selected area electron diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were conducted for textural analyses. The disk diffusion test was carried out against A. actinomycetemcomitans strain ATCC 29523. In vitro bioactivity assessment involved soaking 80S/Ag membrane powders in acellular simulated body fluid. We successfully developed a material consisting of Si, Ca, P, and Ag, namely the 80S/Ag. In the antibacterial testing, the 80S/Ag demonstrated antibacterial activity against the commonly-found oral pathogen, A. actinomycetemcomitans , with a long-lasting effect for 168h. The formation of hydroxyapatite in simulated body fluid highlighted the characteristic of dentine remineralization for the 80S/Ag. The increased pH values after immersion in simulated body fluid would help neutralize the acidic oral environment. Our results indicate that 80S/Ag possesses remarkable antibacterial properties, hydroxyapatite formation, and increased pH values after immersion in simulated body fluid, supporting the potential therapeutic application of 80S/Ag for treating periodontal disease. The human gut microbiota plays a vital role in health and disease. Indole derivatives like indole, tryptamine and indoxyl sulfate represent important microbiota-associated metabolites and biomarkers of gut function. However, current techniques for analysis of these metabolites like mass spectrometry and HPLC suffer from limitations including high cost, complex sample preparation procedures, and long analysis times. In contrast, electrochemical sensing offers a rapid, simple and low-cost alternative with potential for point-of-care applications. We report a nanotip array-based electrochemical sensing platform for rapid, simple and sensitive quantification of indole derivatives. Silicon nanotip arrays were fabricated with controlled sub-micron morphology and coated with gold to form nanotip electrodes. Further modification with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) led to significantly enhanced electrochemical signal. Using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), distinct oxidation peaks were observed for indole, tryptamine and indoxyl sulfate, enabling sensitive detection down to nM levels. A broad linear dynamic range of 7 orders of magnitude demonstrated excellent quantitative capabilities. The sensor showed high reproducibility (<5 % RSD) and selectivity for the metabolites in the presence of potential interferents. Importantly, accurate detection of spiked indole derivatives was achieved in complex biological samples like serum and fecal extracts. The capacity to rapidly quantify indole derivatives in minimally processed samples highlights the potential of this nanotip electrochemical sensing strategy for point-of-care analysis of microbiota function. To determine the effect of silver and silver chitosan nanocoatings on monocrystalline ceramic, polycrystalline ceramic, and metallic brackets regarding friction, roughness, and antibacterial effect against Streptococcus mutans. A total of 99 upper right premolar brackets with a 0.022 × 0.025 -inch slot were divided into three groups, each 33 according to coating material; the non-coated group, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), and silver chitosan nanoparticles (Ag-CsNPs) groups. Each group was equally subdivided into the following three subgroups regarding bracket materials: monocrystalline ceramic, polycrystalline ceramic, and metallic brackets. A universal testing machine determined static friction on a custom-made acrylic jig. Then a profilometer machine was used to collect roughness data, and finally, the anti-cariogenic effect was measured with the disc diffusion technique's "minimum zone of inhibition" against Streptococcus mutans. Two-way ANOVA was used to compare data between groups and subgroups, followed by the Bonferroni test for multiple pair-wise comparisons. The nanocoating effect on ceramic brackets' static friction was non-significant. The AgNPs and Ag-CsNPs coated metallic group revealed a significant increase in static friction—a significant effect of the nanocoating in the surface roughness of monocrystalline and polycrystalline ceramic brackets. A significant favorable effect of AgNPs and Ag-CsNPs against Streptococcus mutans was observed. AgNPs and Ag-CsNPs coats are unsuitable for decreasing friction in metallic brackets or improving roughness in polycrystalline ceramic brackets. Nano coating can improve roughness in monocrystalline ceramic brackets. Objectives At the present time, there is a persistent need to get rid of environmental contaminants by eco-friendly, sustainable, and economical technologies. Uncontrolled disposal practices of domestic and industrial solid and liquid wastes led to water pollution which has negative impacts on public health, environment, and socio-economic development. Several water-borne diseases are spreading man to man by microorganisms such as pathogenic bacteria. For the protection of water bodies, all wastewater from various sources should be managed and remediated properly. Myco-remediation is a form of bioremediation in which fungi are used to get rid of contaminants. Fungi are attractive agents for the biosynthesis of nanoparticles especially silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) which are considered one of the most widely utilized nanoparticles because of their unique characteristics such as antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Methods This study uses silver nitrate and supernatants of four marine fungi; Penicillium simplicissimum, Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus japonicus, and Aspergillus oryzae for extracellular biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles and to evaluate its activity against different pathogenic microorganisms. These nanoparticles may subsequently be applied for the treatment or nano-bioremediation of microbial contaminants in water bodies and improve water quality. Results Silver nanoparticles were synthesized and the results revealed that spherical and well-dispersed nanoparticles of different sizes were formed with sizes ranging between 3.8 and 23 nm. Characterization results approved the existence of stable nanocrystalline elemental silver. Antibacterial activity results revealed that AgNPs can be used as a powerful antimicrobial agent for several pathogenic bacteria, yeast, and fungi. Among the biosynthesized NPs mediated by the four marine fungi, AgNPs mediated by A. japonicus (5 mM) had the highest antibacterial activity, while AgNPs mediated by Penicillium simplicissmum (8 mM) had the highest antifungal activity. Sports doping is a persistent challenge in competitive sports, undermining the integrity of athletic competitions and posing health risks to athletes. This study focuses on the development of a surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) chip for the detection of β-agonists, such as clenbuterol, ractopamine, and salbutamol, which are commonly abused as performance-enhancing drugs. The SERS chip was constructed by depositing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) onto activated carbon (AC) as a substrate, utilizing their plasmonic properties and ease of synthesis. The successful loading of AgNPs onto AC was confirmed by SEM imaging, demonstrating a uniform distribution of AgNPs on the surface of AC. The SERS chip exhibited enhanced sensitivity in detecting β-agonists compared to conventional methods. The SERS signals of the analytes decreased with decreasing concentrations, indicating the chip's ability to detect low-concentration analytes. Notably, the AC/AgNPs composite demonstrated stronger SERS signals compared to AgNPs alone, attributed to the improved loading efficiency and electromagnetic field enhancement provided by the AC substrate. The detection limit of the AC/AgNPs SERS chip for clenbuterol, ractopamine, and salbutamol was found to be 0.003 mg/L, 0.001 mg/L, and 0.007 mg/L, respectively. The developed SERS chip offers rapid and sensitive detection of β-agonists in sports doping control. It overcomes the limitations of conventional methods, such as immunoassays and chromatographic techniques, in terms of sensitivity, selectivity, and sample preparation time. Silver nanoparticle synthesis was achieved using waste tea produced from tea factories and investigated their anticancer activity. The waste material was heated with deionized water at 45°C and then the solution was filtrated. The filtrate was reacted with silver nitrate to yield the silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The structure of AgNPs was determined by spectroscopic analysis. The cytotoxic effect of extract and AgNPs were performed using the human lung carcinoma cell lines (A549), colon adenocarcinoma cell lines (DLD-1), and mouse fibroblasts (L929) cell lines by MTT assay. In UV-Vis measurement, the maximum absorption was observed at 445 nm. The nanoparticles morphology was established by Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and particle size was determined as 17.6 nm. The structure of AgNPs was presented as a face-centered cubic structure by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis. The high negative value of zeta potential (-31.3 mV) displayed the stability of the nanostructure. The yield of AgNPs was calculated by elemental analysis as 72.35%. AgNPs exhibited an outstanding effect on A549 and DLD-1 cell lines at 1.0 mg/mL with the lethal effect of 89.3% and 83% respectively. Background Multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria are acknowledged as one of the main factors contributing to chronic illnesses and fatalities globally. Numerous diseases, including bloodstream infections, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and surgical site infections, can be brought on by MDR bacteria. Therefore, a crucial topic of continuing research is the development of a novel and different treatment for MDR microbial pathogens. This work is introduce an alternative method for elimination of MDR bacterial isolates which are causative agents of urinary tract infection among people in Egypt. In our study, we need a novel strategy to combat MDR bacteria by green-synthesized metal nanoparticles (MNPs). That is due to the ability of MNPs to penetrate the cell wall and the cell membrane of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Methods Clinical isolates of MDR bacteria had their antibiotic susceptibility assessed before being molecularly identified using 16 s rRNA, sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis. Also, genetic profiles of isolated strains were performed using ISSR and SDS-PAGE. Finally, characterized plant-mediated silver nanoparticles derived from lemon and pomegranate peel extracts were evaluated against isolated multidrug-resistant bacterial stains. Results In our present trial, one-hundred urine samples were collected from 71 females and 29 males complaining of UTI (urinary tract infection) symptoms. One-hundred microbial isolates were isolated, including 88-g negative and only 8-g positive bacteria in addition to four yeast isolates (Candida species). A total of 72% of the isolated bacteria showed MDR activity. The most prevalent MDR bacterial isolates (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Enterococcus faecalis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae) were identified through 16S rDNA PCR sequencing as with accession numbers OP741103, OP741104, OP741105, OP741106, and OP741107, respectively. Lemon and pomegranate-mediated silver nanoparticles [Ag-NPs] were characterized by UV spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, and TEM with average size 32 and 28 nm, respectively. Lemon and pomegranate-mediated silver nanoparticles [Ag-NPs] showed an inhibitory effect on the selected five MDR isolates at MIC 50 and 30 µg/mL, respectively. These common bacterial isolates were also genetically examined using ISSR PCR, and their total protein level was evaluated using SDS-PAGE, showing the presence of distinct genetic and protein bands for each bacterial species and emphasizing their general and protein composition as a crucial and essential tool in understanding and overcoming MDR behavior in UTI patients. Conclusions Lemon and pomegranate-mediated silver nanoparticles [Ag-NPs] were found to have an inhibitory effect on MDR isolates. In this study, it was aimed to compare the properties of cotton fabrics finished by natural (neat, pure) and sulfated ß-cyclodextrin complexes of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) for biomedical applications. For this aim, sulfated ß-cyclodextrin (S-ß-CD) was obtained from ß-CD and they were applied to cotton fabrics with and without EDTA crosslinking agent. Then, all the fabrics were treated with AgNPs and inclusion complexes were formed. Within the scope of the study, antibacterial activity, washing stability, add-on, tensile strength, handle and color change of the samples were tested and compared to each other. In addition, SEM and EDX were carried out on the samples to characterize the effects of finishing, FT-IR analysis was carried out to characterize the chemical structures of ß-CD and S-ß-CD powders and XRD analysis was carried out to characterize the AgNPs. Herbal extract-induced metallic nanoparticles have replaced the traditionally synthesized nanoparticles to achieve sustainability in antimicrobial textiles. Silver nanoparticles (NPs) were created by the bio-reducion of silver nitrate with eucalyptus corymbia leaf extract. The bi-lateral activities of herbal extract, like the reduction and capping of silver nanoparticles, have added new dimensions in the bactericidal sector. Silver nanoparticles were characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, a particle size analyzer, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and X-ray diffractometry. In this study these biosynthesized nanoparticles were applied on cotton fabric alone and along with chitosan by the pad-dry-cure method to create antibacterial clothing. Amikacin and silver salts have well-known antimicrobial properties. However, both drugs lost their effectiveness against some bacteria, such as Acinetobacter baumannii. This work aims to develop a nanodrug from silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) functionalized with Amikacin against multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. AgNPs were produced using the bottom-up methodology and functionalized with Amikacin modified by the carbodiimide-based chemistry, forming AgNPs@Amikacin. Susceptibility tests were performed using Amikacin-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii strains to assess the bacteriostatic and bactericidal potential of the developed nanodrug. The clinical strains were induced to form a biofilm, and biomass quantification and the metabolic activity were determined. The AgNPs have a hydrodynamic diameter of the particles with a bimodal distribution, with a size of 37.84 nm. The FT-IR spectrum of AgNPs@Amikacin exhibits vibrational modes corresponding to Amikacin, confirming the conjugation to AgNPs. Susceptibility testing demonstrated a minimal inhibitory and bactericidal concentration of < 0.5 µg/mL. The AgNPs@Amikacin reduced the biofilm metabolic activity of Acinetobacter baumannii at rates ≥ 50%, characterized by the minimal biofilm inhibition concentrations. Results demonstrate a promising development of a new nanodrug with lower concentrations, less toxicity, and greater efficacy against multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. This study illustrates the antifungal activity of green biosynthesis of a silver nanoparticle solution using one of Sinai's natural plant extracts, namely Zygophyllum album which was used as a stabilizer and reducing agent to reduce Ag+ to metallic silver. In this study the plant extract was prepared by boiling in water for 10 min., 70% ethanol and wet autoclaving for 5 min. AgNPs were prepared using these three different extract methods. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and zeta potential techniques were employed to characterize the synthesis of nanoparticles. The size of particles ranged from 6.28 nm to 28.89 nm at x100 and the zeta potential had one peak at -16.6 mean (mV) at area 100% for green synthesized AgNPs from Z. album prepared from boiling in water for 10 min. The size of particles ranged from 6.64 nm to 54.82nm at 100x and the zeta potential had one peak at - 12.9 mean (mV) at 100% area for green synthesized AgNPs from the plant ethanol extract. The size of particles ranged from 9.39 nm to 31.93 nm at 100x and the zeta potential had one peak - 19.8 mean (mV) at 100% area for green synthesized AgNPs from the wet autoclaved plant extract of Z. album for 5 min. All treatments of plant extract and AgNPs solutions, prepared from these plant extracts of Zygophyllum album, were compared with the positive control and Tachigaren - 30% W/P was conducted on the radial growth of F. oxysporium and caused antifungal activity with a high inhibition percent. There was a highly significant difference between the various extraction techniques. Increasing the concentration of treatments was accompanied with a significant effect on Fusarium wilt. Thus, this study may provide a good alternative approach to control Fusarium wilt disease in the field and under storage conditions of vegetables. Antimicrobial pectin/chitosan composite films have potential as wound dressing and food packaging. However, almost biofilms were synthesized through chemical routes, causing eco-unfriendliness, and negative impacts on the environment and human health. Green synthesis of composite films incorporating with biosynthesized AgNPs is therefore necessary to enhance mechanical and antimicrobial activities. This study focused on the influence of biosynthesized AgNPs on characteristics of passion fruit peel pectin/chitosan (P/CH) biofilms. Characterization, mechanical, antimicrobial activities of P/CH/AgNPs biofilms were evaluated. Incorporating AgNPs into P/CH-based films significantly exerted apparent color and optical properties of biofilms. As AgNPs concentration increased, P/CH/AgNPs biofilms had higher water content (20.1%), better water vapor permeability (1.28 × 10–9 g/mm h Pa), but lower mechanical, water solubility (43.98%), swelling (630.29 ± 11.79%) indexes. P/CH/AgNPs biofilms exhibited outstanding antibacterial properties against S. aureus , B. cereus, P. aeruginosa, K. pneumonia. As expected, in vivo results consolidated the evidence of excellent wound closure (100%) of P/CH/AgNPs biofilms after 15 days. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Alstonia congensis greensynthesized nanoparticles as a molluscicide against snail hosts of trematodes. Methods: The ethanolic leaf extract of Alstonia congensis was used to synthesize silver nanoparticles. The formulation was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, and scanning electron microscope/energy-dispersed X-ray. The ovicidal and molluscicidal activities of the Alstonia congensis extract and its nanoparticles were tested against Physa acuta and Bulinus forskalii at different concentrations. Results: The green-synthesized nanoparticles inhibited embryonic development within the egg masses of the two snails in all the tested concentrations. Alstonia congensis extract did not show molluscicidal properties against adult Physa acuta but showed a very weak activity against Bulinus forskalii. Moreover, the synthesized nanoparticles showed significantly high molluscicidal activity against adult snails within 5-40 min of exposure in a concentration-dependent manner (P<0.05). Conclusions: The Alstonia congensis-based nanoparticles show molluscicidal activities against adults and embryos of Physa acuta and Bulinus forskalii, and can be further explored as a potent molluscicide for the control of intermediate host of trematode parasites. In this paper, an environmentally friendly method to produce electrically conductive and antibacterial silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) coated polyamide (PA) yarns was reported. A new AgNPs coated composite PA yarn has been synthesized in the presence of carboxy methyl starch (CMS) reducing agent. Silver nitrate (AgNO3) was reduced on the surface of the PA fibers which allowed formation of silver nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images indicated distribution of silver nanolayer formation on the composite fiber surface. Electrical conductivity of composite yarns was measured by four point probe technique and was changed from 1.015x10-5 to 1.282x100 S/cm. Background: The Ag-NPs by green synthesis has a notable interest because of their eco-friendliness, economic views, feasibility, and applications in a wide range. Herein, native plants of Jharkhand (Polygonum plebeium, Litsea glutinosa, and Vangueria spinosus) were selected for the current work of Ag-NP synthesis and further antibacterial activity. Green synthesis was performed for Ag-NPs using Silver nitrate solution as precursor and the dried leaf extract performs as a reductant and stabilizer here. Result: Visually Ag-NP formation was observed along with a colour change and confirmed by UV-visible spectrophotometry on which an absorbance peak occurs at around 400–450nm. Further characterization was done on DLS, FTIR, FESEM, and XRD. Size around 45–86 nm of synthesized Ag-NPs was predicted through DLS. The synthesized Ag-NPs exhibited significant antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis (Gram-positive bacteria) and Salmonella typhi (Gram-negative bacteria). The finest antibacterial activity was disclosed by the Ag-NPs synthesized by Polygonum plebeium extract. The diameter of the zone of inhibition in the bacterial plate measured was 0–1.8 mm in Bacillus and 0–2.2 mm in Salmonella typhi. Protein-Protein interaction study was performed to study the effect of Ag-NPs towards different antioxidant enzyme system of bacterial cell. Conclusion: Present work suggest the Ag-NPs synthesized from P. plebeium were more stable for long term and might have prolonged antibacterial activity. The emergence of multidrug-resistant ESKAPE infections has emerged as a serious public health threat. Nosocomial infections are most often caused by ESKAPE bacteria. To combat multidrug-resistant ESKAPE, the research team used Valeriana Wallichii extracts and nanoparticles. The well diffusion technique was used to test antimicrobial activity on Muller Hinton agar medium. The FTIR, SEM and XRD techniques were used to characterize the nanoparticles synthesized in an environmentally benign manner. Both NPs performed better than extracts made with methanol and water in this investigation. The smallest zones of inhibition were shown against A. baumannii and Enterobacter cloacae, whereas the largest zones of inhibition were seen against E. faecium. However, NPs synthesized from shoot extracts exhibited remarkable effects against all MDR ESKAPE infections, with zones of inhibition of 23, 20, 12, 18, 22 and 14mm, respectively. Although E. faecium. had the largest inhibitory zone in both methanolic root and shoot extracts (19mm and 22mm, respectively), K. pneumonia and E. cloacae had the smallest zones when tested with these solvents. Water-based extracts inactivated multidrug-resistant bacteria. OBJECTIVE: Silver nanoparticles (G-AgNPs) improve wound healing by promoting skin cell proliferation and differentiation. Therefore, G-AgNPs could act as drug carriers and wound healers in biomedicine. The current study aimed to improve skin wound healing using natural, safe G-AgNPs. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The G-Ag- NPs were reduced with ethylcellulose (EC) and incorporated into an oil-in-water cream base. The size, charges, and wavelength were used to characterize the prepared G-AgNPs. Further, the transmission electron microscope (TEM) and the scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to provide the shape of G-AgNPs. Moreover, the skin wound healing was evaluated with the appropriate histopathological techniques in a mouse model with skin injury to prove the curative effects of G-AgNPs which was conducted for 15 days on 45 adult male albino rats. The effectiveness of G-AgNPs-EC cream for treating surgical skin wounds was assessed by histopathological (HP) examination of hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained sections. RESULTS: The produced G-AgNPs-EC showed a size of 183.9 ± 0.854 nm and a charge of -14.0 ± 0.351 mV. UV-VIS spectra showed a strong absorption of electromagnetic waves in the visible region at 381 nm. Furthermore, the TEM and SEM showed rounded NPs in nano size of the prepared G-AgNPs-EC. The G-AgNPs cream was pivotal in enhancing wounds' healing properties, improving the formation of wound granulation tissue, and enhancing the proliferation of epithelial tissue in rats. Objective: To assess the molluscicidal effect of the eco-friendly green synthesized neem silver nanoparticles (neem-Ag NPs) against Biomphalaria alexandrina, the snail intermediate host for Schistosoma mansoni, and their cercaricidal potential. Methods: Methanol extracts from neem fruits were used for green synthesis of neem-Ag NPs. The neem-Ag NPs were characterized using UV-visible absorption spectra, dynamic laser light scattering technique, and transmission electron microscopy. The potential molluscicidal effect against adult and juvenile Biomphalaria alexandrina and the effect of the sub-lethal concentration on hatching of snail eggs and Schistosoma mansoni cercariae were evaluated. Results: The surface plasmon resonance of neem-Ag NPs showed a sharp absorption peak at λmax = 518 nm together with multiple peaks. The hydrodynamic diameter was (77.15±34.53) nm, the polydispersity index (0.338±0.000) and the zeta-potential -14.07 mV. Moreover, transmission electron microscopy showed that the average size of the nanoparticles was (27±2) nm. Agglomeration was evident and a light-colored capping layer could be seen coating the nanoparticles. Juvenile snails (LC50: 0.83 ppm) were more susceptible to neem-Ag NPs than adults (LC50: 1.07 ppm). In addition, neem-Ag NPs and neem at LC50 concentrations inhibited the egg-hatching of snails and showed cercaricidal activity in a timedependent manner. Conclusions: Neem-Ag NPs have lethal activities against Biomphalaria alexandrina snails and their eggs, as well as Schistosoma mansoni cercariae. Nanocomposite films have been prepared from chitosan, cinnamaldehyde, Nigella sativa or blackseed oil, and silver nanoparticles (NPs) biosynthesized in Azadirachta indica or neem leaves' extract. The methodology involved simple blending of components through "green chemistry" route. The films obtained were soft and foldable. The morphology by scanning electron microscopy confirmed the inclusion of NPs in the films. Microbial penetration study demonstrated that the films offered good resistance to secondary bacterial infection. The antibacterial study against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 29213) and E. coli (ATCC 25922) indicated moderate antibacterial behavior of the films. The swelling behavior in water, phosphate buffer saline, and simulated wound fluid was found to be appropriate for use as wound dressings. The development of new biomaterials for bone tissue regeneration with high bioactivity abilities and antibacterial properties is being intensively investigated. We have synthesized nanocomposites formed by mesoporous bioactive glasses (MBGs) in the ternary SiO 2 , CaO and P 2 O 5 system doped with metallic silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) that were homogenously embedded in the MBG matrices. Ag/MBG nanocomposites have been directly synthesized and silver species were spontaneously reduced to metallic AgNPs by high temperatures (700 °C) obtained of last MBG synthesis step. Three-dimensional silver-containing mesoporous bioactive glass scaffolds were fabricated showing uniformly interconnected ultrapores, macropores and mesopores. The manufacture method consisted of a combination of a single-step sol–gel route in the mesostructure directing agent (P123) presence and a biomacromolecular polymer such as (hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose (HPMC) as the macrostructure template, followed by rapid prototyping (RP) technique. Biological properties of Ag/MBG nanocomposites were evaluated by MC3T3-E1 preosteoblastic cells culture tests and bacterial (E. coli and S. aureus) assays. The results showed that the MC3T3-E1 cells morphology was not affected while preosteoblastic proliferation decreased when the presence of silver increased. Antimicrobial assays indicated that bacterial growth inhibition and biofilm destruction were directly proportional to the increased presence of AgNPs in the MBG matrices. Furthermore, in vitro co-culture of MC3T3-E1 cells and S. aureus bacteria confirmed that AgNPs presence was necessary for antibacterial activity, and AgNPs slightly affected cell proliferation parameters. Therefore, 3D printed scaffolds with hierarchical pore structure and high antimicrobial capacity have potential applications in bone tissue regeneration. This study combines three key scientific aspects for bone tissue engineering: (i) materials with high bioactivity to repair and regenerate bone tissue that (ii) contain antibacterial agents to reduce the infection risk (iii) in the form of three-dimensional scaffolds with hierarchical porosity. Innovative methodology is described here: sol-gel method, which is employed to obtain mesoporous bioactive glass matrices doped with metallic silver nanoparticles where different polymer templates facilitate the different size scales presence, and rapid prototyping technique that provides ultra-large macroporosity according to computer-aided design. The aim of present study, biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) was synthesized from silver ions using aqueous extract of the whole plant of Martynia annua and its Antimicrobial and Cytotoxic activities. The extraction is made by non-polar to polar solvent using Soxhlet apparatus. Initially, the aqueous (water) extract was analysed the primary phytochemical test and used for the synthesis of Ag NPs. The obtained Ag NPs were characterized using UV-vis. spectroscopy, XRD analysis, FTIR spectrum and HRTEM. The UV-vis spectroscopy surface Plasmon resonance centre at 443nm was confirmed the formation of Ag NPs. XRD analysis and SAED pattern was determining the crystalline nature of metallic silver. HRTEM image shows the morphology of Ag NPs contains spherical shapes with sizes 10-25nm. This study intends to develop anticariogenic orthodontic cement by incorporating Augmentin-coated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). Augmentin was used as a reducing agent as well as a coating material to stabilize the synthesized AgNPs. The prepared AgNPs were characterized using various analytical techniques that confirmed their synthesis. Antibacterial study against S. aureus and E. coli showed the potency of prepared AgNPs. MTT assay was performed to access the AgNPs biocompatibility which was observed to increase with higher loading of the AgNPs. The orthodontic adhesive composite was evaluated for shear bond strength Adhesive remnant index (ARI) and bracket adhesive remnant index (BARI) to optimize the AgNPs loading. The experimental composite with 5 wt.% nanoparticles has shear bond strength close to the ideal shear bond strength. The aggregation behavior and stability of silver nanoparticles (AgNs) are important considerations when exposed to various environments. AgNs have significant interests due to their unique properties. The cationic polymeric surfactants were investigated to coat or cape AgNs with a semi-permeable layer. Using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy and Gel permission chromatograph, the chemical structures were verified. Through the use of transmission electron microscopy, ultraviolet spectroscopy, particle size distribution, zeta potential, surface activities, and anti-bacterial activity, the produced cationic PUQOS and PUQLS surfactants containing silver nanoparticles were assessed. The results indicate that silver nanoparticles were stabilized in solution for seven days without aggregation using the prepared surfactants by coating their surfaces. The coating processes altered the zeta potential. The growing awareness of the importance of bacterial-resistant surfaces has increased since the COVID-19 pandemic global problem. Therefore, the need for antibacterial surfaces has become urgent. The by-product bagasse papers (BPs) were modified with antimicrobial natural rosin, followed by the synthesised graphene oxide and silver nanoparticles (GO-Ag-NPs) through a spin coating approach. The modified samples exhibited a remarkable antibacterial activity towards E. coli (G−ve bacteria) and S. aureus (G+ve bacteria). The microstructure, as well as phase composition of the prepared composites, was identified using various techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) and hydrophilicity which was metered by water contact angle (WCA). The obtained results demonstrated that the halos of inhibition were noticed for decorated TBP samples by GO-Ag-NPs with various diameters ranging from 20 to 25 mm. Green synthesis reduces the production of deleterious products through sustainable and eco-friendly synthesis procedures by using natural resources such as green materials. The present work reports the green synthesis of metal nanoparticles to minimise waste products and implement sustainable processes. The research community attracts green plants and their products for materials production due to their nontoxic nature to the environment and human health. The current report is new experimentation for nanoparticles by use of green materials with biological reduction method. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are highly produced in developed countries for a variety of products. Consequently, AgNPs end up being introduced in aquatic systems all over the world, and usually deposited in riverine sediments, from where they can be taken up by aquatic organisms and transferred along the food chain. The analysis of AgNPs in natural samples is not an easy task, because of their low presence and complicated reactions, which can change their speciation. The objective of this work is to help in this challenge, developing a method applicable to analyse sediment samples from any place around the world where AgNPs are suspected to be present. Firstly, four methods for the synthesis of AgNPs were investigated by Ultraviolet–visible (UV–VIS) spectroscopy and particle size analysis. The methods differed in the reducing agent used and in the concentration of the stabilising agent applied. The method including NaBH 4 and SDS (sodium dodecyl sulphate) resulted to be more adequate as the Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) band position and width indicated. This conclusion was corroborated considering the hydrodynamic diameters and polydispersity indices of the synthesised AgNPs. The Z-average hydrodynamic diameter and the UV–VIS spectrum of AgNPs synthesised using this method indicated that the AgNPs remained kinetically stable for at least 10 days. Finally, ten potential extraction solutions were investigated, in terms of maximal extraction efficiency, but minimal effects on AgNP dissolution and aggregation. The candidate solutions ranged from deionized water and salts to strong acids and bases. The intensity of the SPR band concluded that using NaOH media the synthesised AgNPs was kinetically stable. Moreover, TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) images showed that the AgNPs in NaOH retained their shape and size after 10 days. This study aimed to determine the most effective antibiofilm concentration of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) alone or in combination with calcium hydroxide (Ca[OH] 2) against Fusobacterium nucleatum biofilm. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of AgNPs alone or with Ca(OH) 2 were determined. Dentin slices were sterilized and inoculated with F. nucleatum for 3 weeks to establish a biofilm. Samples were randomly assigned to determine the MIC and MBC for AgNPs alone or mixed with Ca(OH) 2. A higher concentration of AgNPs for both preparations was also used. Triple antibiotic paste, Ca(OH) 2 , and saline were used as controls. Specimens in each group were subdivided over 2 observation periods: 7 and 14 days. At the end of each period, specimens were analyzed with 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazole-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) to determine the metabolic activity. Also, samples from each group were assessed by scanning electron microscopy. The MIC and MBC of AgNPs alone against F. nucleatum coincided at 0.04%. The combination of AgNPs + Ca(OH) 2 exhibited a lower MIC and MBC of 0.03%. MTT analysis showed a significant reduction in bacterial viability in all groups compared with negative controls (P <.05). A more substantial reduction in bacterial cells was observed with increasing concentrations of AgNPs at both periods. The combination (AgNPs [0.06%] + Ca[OH] 2) was the most potent against F. nucleatum. The current study aims to explore the antimicrobial and anticancer activity of biogenic silver nanoparticles (B-AgNPs) synthesized using Bael leaf extract. AgNPs nanoparticles characterized using FESEM, TEM, XRD, and UV-Spectrophotometry. TEM analysis revealed that B-AgNPs were predominantly spheroidal with particle size distribution in the range of 7-10 nm. In MTT assay, when B-AgNPs were applied in colon cancer (HCT-116) cells and human colon epithelial cell line (FHC) cells. B-AgNPs exhibited specific cytotoxicity to HCT-116 as minimal effect observed in normal FHC cells. Moreover, the fluorescence microscopic examination after nucleus staining as well as DNA fragmentation also confirmed AgNPs spectific cytotoxicity towards HCT-116. Further, AgNPs demonstrated excellent antibiofilm and antibacterial activity in both Gram-Positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Hence, overall, we categorically concluded that the biogenic silver nanoparticles synthesized using Bael leaf extract possess multiple biological activities and might be possibly used as multipurpose therapeutic material with no or little systemic toxicity. Background: Ethnomedicinally important Kaempferia angustifolia is a rhizomatous aromatic herb belonging to the family Zingiberaceae. The present manuscript deals with the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles through a rapid reduction process mediated by the rhizome extract of tissue culture-raised plants. The present study was conducted to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of the bio-nanoparticles, and the plant extracts themselves against seven multidrug-resistant urinary tract infecting (MDR-UTI) pathogens. Result: The ethanolic extracts of the rhizomes of the plant executed a very rapid synthesis of silver bio-nanoparticles, and the generation of the nanoparticles was confirmed through UV-vis spectrophotometry, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and electron dispersion spectroscopic (EDS) analysis. Finally, the precise shapes and dimensions of these nanoparticles were confirmed under the transmission electron microscope (TEM). The shapes of the nanoparticles obtained were diverse in nature and varied from rod, triangular, spherical, to oval shaped, with the size, ranging from 10–60 nm. Silver nanoparticles exhibited a maximum zone of inhibition (ZI) of 16.93 ± 0.04 mm against isolate no. 42332. The ex vitro and in vivo extracts exhibited ZI 14.03 ± 0.04 mm and 11.56 ± 0.04 mm, respectively, against the same strain, which are comparatively lower than the nanoparticles but unignorable. Conclusion: Although the pathogens used in the present study are resistant to at least three or more types of pharmacologically important antibiotics, nanoparticles, as well as the plant extracts, exhibited significant inhibition to all the seven MDR-UTI pathogens, which confirms that they are highly antimicrobic. Hence, this underutilized medicinal plant extracts of K. angustifolia and the bio-nanoparticles synthesized from these can be explored in pharmaceutical industries to treat multidrug-resistant human pathogenic bacteria.
