Polyaniline-paper composite is prepared on a paper template by interfacial polymerization. Using SEM and FESEM, the morphology of PANI on fiber and pores between fibers are inspected based on different polymerization. The flake shape of PANI is formed on fiber surface at the beginning due to electrostatic attraction, while the granular is growing on the pores freely. This flake shape on fiber is changed with 3rd polymerization into granular. When the resistivity is below 100cm/S, linear PANI in pores is growing to the fiber nearby, and PANI network formed. The morphology also confirmed that PANI on fiber only remains on the upside not fully covered surface of fiber. Very few PANI is found inside paper substrate by cross section SEM. The method is discussed also with polyaniline-fiber composite polymerization and in-site paper polymerization.

Fibers of dissolved air flotation rejects were been carboxymethylated to make dry strengthening agent. The effects of carboxymethylated time on carboxyl content, water retention value and physical properties of paper sheets were discussed. The effects of pH, dose of additive agent and additive aluminum sulfate on paper properties were discussed. The result show that carboxyl content and water retention values increased with the increasing of carboxymethylated time according to the research. IR analysis indicates that carboxymethyl has been connected to the surface of fibers. SEM micrographs shown that fibers were intergraded more closely benefit from the addition of dry strengthening agent. Tensile index, burst index and folding endurance respectively increased by 90.1% 101.8% and 833.3% on the condition: the additive agent amount 3%, pH 5, additive aluminum sulfate 0.5% of original pulp. Tensile index, burst index and folding endurance respectively increased by 74.0%, 87.8% and 877.8% when the carboxymethylated time was 110min for recycled pulp. This paper can be used as the theoretical basis for reusing of fiber of dissolved air flotation rejects.

The surface topography and properties of coating layer have an important influence on penetration and distribution of the print ink. In this research, the main objective was to investigate the effect of binder on the coating surface topography and characteristics. The surface microstructure was explored in the method of numerical and visual analysis using mercury porosimetry measurment and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The findings indicated that the binder content on the coating surface affected the pore size, depth and distribution of the coated paper surface. The conclusions were drawn that more amount of binder on the coating surface could contribute to improve the coating surface topography and the formation of even pore size and distribution, which was good to the paper surface characteristics and resulted in low roughness, high paper gloss, low ink absorption and high paper surface efficiency.

The ink penetration behavior depends on the coating surface structure and surface properties of the coating layer in the papermaking process, which include coating recipes and coating conditions, etc. The objective of this experiment was to investigate the relationship between binder content and ink absorption using laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM). Fluorescent ink was used to observe and characterize ink penetration and distribution in coated paper by LSCM. The results indicated that higher binder content could result in higher amount ink absorption. With the increasing of binder content, ink penetration depth in coated paper increased. Sample G2 with 20 parts binder produced the most unevenness ink distribution. It could be concluded that the coated paper with 25 parts binder compared with the other samples resulted in higher ink usage and better printing quality.

A novel hollow microsphere plastic pigment was prepared by the soap-free seeded emulsion polymerization. This pigment, with polyacrylate as core and with polystyrene as shell (PA/PSt) had hollow structure after dryness. The latex was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), and particle size analysis. The synthetic pigment was applied in the paper coating, and its influence on the printablility of the coated paper was investigated. The results show that the overall properties of the coated paper can be effectively improved when the clay in the base formulation is replaced by a small amount of hollow microsphere plastic pigment.

Polyimide fibers and polyamide acid fibers was used as main materials to produce Polyimide fiber paper. A certain amount of PEO and aramid pulp was added and the sheet was treated by immersion and hot pressing in specified process. The experimental results showed that when the dosage of PEO and aramid pulp were 0.06% and 6% respectively, the sheet tended to present more excellent strength properties and electrical performance compared with sheet using single polyimide fibers as the main fiber materials.

Polyimide fibers and polyamide acid fibers was used as main materials to make polyimide fiber paper. The effect of the properties of polyimide fiber paper by hot pressing temperature and hot pressing pressure was discussed. The experimental results showed that when the pressure of hot pressing was 12Mpa and the hot temperature of hot pressing was 220℃, the sheet had excellent strength properties and electrical performance.

By experimental and comparison method, printing characteristics of light paper were studied. A test form was designed for monitoring reproduction processes and evaluating reproduction characteristics. Then it was output on film, plates, and paper in turns. Results showed that performance of paper has a direct impact on reproduction quality; prints made by light paper have less color saturation, lower print contrast, much dot loss in light areas and less color gamut than those by offset paper. However, the difference between them was very small. Under good control this environmental friendly paper was absolutely able to the high quantitative offset paper in book printing. Effective measurements of improving printing quality on light paper printing were derived

with the rapid development of national economy in recent years, rapid growth of the road mileage, the rapid growth of usage of the car begin to render phase geometry orders of magnitude, however, as the international oil prices gradually rise, the domestic refined oil price is high, the use of the car costs are rising fast. Therefore, how to better maintenance of vehicles, and change some of the original bad driving technology, can make the car in the most fuel-efficient and has become a very meaningful topic.

Based on the database of Thomson Reuters, the bibliometric and patent information of China and US in the field of Clean Coal Technology from 2006 to 2011 are searched. The R&D capacity of China and US in the field of Clean Coal Technology are compared, the advantageous institutes in this field are identified. The cooperation trend between China and US on Clean Coal technology is analyzed. Some suggestions are proposed based on the data analysis.

To enhance printing qualities, this study used refluxed silica (SiO2) from rice husk by hydrochloric acid (HCl) at different molarities and reaction times as coating agent for printed paper. Characterization of the refluxed silica from 2M HCl 120 min elucidated the purity of 98.7% and amorphous structure. Particle size of the silica exhibited uniform size of 3 μm and the color measurement (CIE L*a*b*) indicated 94.79+0.48+1.24, whiteness and color difference (E) were 84.85, 3.28, respectively. The coating agent was prepared by water-based varnish of acrylic resin mixed with the synthesized silica at different proportions: 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 (%wt), and later was applied on 170 g/m2-white kraft papers. The results showed that the water-based coating varnish with silica exhibited an increase of viscosity as increasing the amount of the silica. Printing qualities indicated that the vanished printed paper with 1.0% silica elucidated the highest details in shadow tone and text (font) sharpness. The color gamut yielded a wider scope than the printed papers which were varnished with the silica at 0.0%, 0.5% and 1.5%. Nonetheless, the color density showed insignificant difference to 1.5% silica varnished paper.

Paper-based material has been frequently used as part of packaging solution as an option towards reducing municipal solid waste generation. Various studies on mechanical behaviour of paper-pulp packaging material have been conducted based on the machining direction and cross machining direction. However, there is still gap of information on paper-pulp packaging material behaviour at diagonal direction. A study has been conducted to investigate the variability to tensile properties of paper-pulp packaging at various packaging section (draft and base surface) and different specimen orientation (horizontal, vertical, and diagonal direction). In this research, results from the stress-strain relationship obtained from tensile and compression tests are presented. The data obtained are further analysed using ANOVA to find out whether material variations are significantly different with varying sections and orientations. Findings in this research supported the anisotropic properties of paper-based packaging material. Draft surfaces exhibit weaker strength than base surface. Also, the variability of stiffness and strength of specimens are more significant in horizontal and vertical direction compared to diagonal direction.

n the effort to produce sustainable concrete, considerable attempt has been placed on replacing the main ingredients in concrete mixtures with more sustainable materials with the objective to reduce the carbon footprint. One of the replacement materials is waste paper sludge ash (WPSA), a local industrial by-product generated abundantly by newsprint mills which possesses considerable cementitious properties. Parallel to this, the high amount of construction waste, particularly concrete waste has become a difficult environmental issue to cope with in todays world. For this reason, recycling of concrete waste as a new alternative aggregate is being effectively utilized in concrete production. Thus, this paper reports on a study conducted to evaluate the compressive strength characteristics of the potential of using WPSA as a binder and fine recycled concrete aggregate (FRCA) as a virgin sand replacement in producing foamed concrete. The findings of this study exhibited that the inclusion of WPSA and FRCA for replacement ratios up to 20% and 15% respectively has significantly influenced the strength properties of foamed concrete.

Using Poplar P-RC APMP as raw materials for culture paper making, the effect of conventional papermaking process and P-RC APMP fines-calcium carbonate co-flocculation process on the P-RC APMP culture paper properties were studied. The result showed that, comparing to the conventional papermaking process, co-flocculation process can supply paper with better strength properties, bulk and whiteness. When precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) or ground calcium carbonate (GCC) were added respectively in conventional papermaking process, the PCC supplied handsheets with better bulk and whiteness, while GCC supplied handsheets with better strength properties. In the co-flocculation process, the effects of PCC and GCC were nearly the same in strength properties and bulk of handsheets, but PCC was more beneficial for whiteness. SEM images showed that PCC distributed more evenly in the fiber network, and well-bonded with fiber network. The particle size of GCC is relatively small, mainly filled in the fiber network and wrapped on the fiber.

This paper describes the precipitated calcium carbonate filler applied to paper industry, which was prepared by adding a specific crystal control agent. And a series of influencing factors in carbonation process was studied, such as carbonization temperature, concentration of milk of lime, carbon dioxide concentration and the crystal shape control dosage. Therefore the optimum conditions for preparation of chrysanthemum-shaped crystalline calcium carbonate were determined.

This paper experimentally examined the impact of four different drying methods (free drying, press drying, vacuum drying and impingement drying) on paper physical properties including roughness, elongation, air permeance, tearing resistance, tensile index and bursting strength. The handsheets materials are HWBKP (Hardwood Bleached Chemical Pulp), SWBKP (Softwood Bleached Chemical Pulp), CTMP (Chemical Thermo mechanical Pulp) and ATMP (Advanced Thermo Mechanical Pulp). Good experimental data were obtained for the four pulps under different drying conditions. The results of our investigation indicate that press drying have lower surface roughness, elongation and air permeance but higher tearing resistance; the vacuum drying have higher roughness, tensile index and bursting strength; the impingement drying have lower tearing resistance, tensile index and bursting strength but higher elongation and air permeance. Selection of different drying conditions for effective productivity and quality improvement potential is proposed as a direction for the future dryer design.

The intention of this paper is to review of some recent innovative novelties about paper and board pigment coating raw materials. First an overview is given of “traditional” coating raw materials and the coating process. Then new starch based pigments and binders as well as novel plastic pigments are reviewed regarding their effect on coated paper properties. Finally it is concluded that further innovations and research are needed.

After the treatment of the ultrasound, the paper sizing agent preparation process with emulsion copolymerization of methyl methl acrylate and butylacrylate under microwave irradiation is discussed. To research the synthesis of sizing agent, the change of emulsion polymerization products of monomer conversion, particle size, and centrifugal stability were observed under types of conditions such as microwave power and dosage of emulsifiers. This synthetic method is due to use the microwave irradiation so that its response is very fast, and it can provide a new approach to prepare efficiently a paper sizing agent in the paper making.

It is an important factor that the paper tension for web press printing and roll paper manufacture. Especially commerce web press is the more important. The commerce web press has not only the first tension control, but also the second tension control. The second tension control would control tension wave restrict accurate bound. The simulation method was discussed about paper tape tension the second tension control on some problems of high speed Web press controlling system in actual adjustment course, and different respond graph was obtained on the different controlling parameter by MATLAB and controlling system capability target. Intuitionistic and exact foundation was offered for system analysis, comparison and choice arithmetic, which benefits the further research.

Variable head sizes of paper roll will influence the stability of paper feeding device and hence the printing quality. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the printing quality by improving the stability of paper feeding device based on dynamic analysis on the phenomenon of variable head sizes of paper roll. It is found through dynamic analysis that the effect of variable head sizes on the support force of bearings is nearly five times that of the case when such effect does not exist. Vibration performance analysis of paper feeding device using finite element analysis obtains the natural frequencies of the first 6 orders for paper carriage and their dominant vibrational modes. This provides theoretical basis for the improvement of paper feeding device.

Composite soils have been extensively used in civil engineering applications, especially in slopes, embankment dam and landfills. This paper aims to investigate effect of paper reinforcement inclusion on compaction characteristic of composite soil (i.e. clay composite). A series of laboratory tests performed to assess reinforcement effect on optimum water content and maximum dry unit weight of composite soils. Clay was selected as soil part of the composite and paper was used as reinforcement. The paper reinforcement parameters differed from one test to another, as paper length varied from 15 mm to 40mm and paper content were selected as 5% and 10%. For each test, compaction curved derived and the results were compared. The results proved that inclusion of paper affected compaction behaviour of samples so that increasing in paper content and length caused increasing in Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) and slightly decreased maximum dry unit weight.

Reinforced soil has been among the most effective soil modification materials. Its use has been expanded rapidly into civil engineering, geotechnical engineering and pavement engineering. Reinforcing subgarde in pavement systems has always been an issue. This study focuses on effect of paper inclusion on the modulus of elasticity of subgrade material. Paper was used for this investigation. Paper contents and aspect ratio have been changed during these tests. The paper percentage varied from 0 % (for unreinforced samples) to 30%. Clay was used as sub grade material. Unconfined compression tests were carried out to investigate behaviour of the composite under different condition. The paper reinforcment length and paper reinforcment content found to play important rule on the modulus of elasticity of paper reinforced samples. Furthermore it was observed that ductility of sample increased by paper inclusion.

The drying section of paper machine is not only the major energy-consuming parts of the papermaking process, but also one of the main bottleneck restricting the speed, yield and paper quality. So the research on the drying section has attracted much attention at home and abroad. In view of the traditional steam dryer shortcomings, this paper first introduces two kinds of improvement measures —— the tubulator bar and the siphon which can improve the efficiency of the traditional steam dryer. With the development of the paper industry, domestic and international research on the new type of paper drying technology has achieved some success. Then, we analyse their working principle and characteristic, and conclude that multi-channel dryer has a broad research and application prospects.

The curriculum construction is a very important work leading to the excellent course. Processing Technology of Paper Box and Carton (including 32 class hours) is a new elective course to the printing engineering in our college. It is very important and necessary to construct the course in time. At first, the current states and difficulties were introduced in the paper, which was that teaching contents, teaching courseware and teacher team should be all improved. Especially, the teaching content proportion on both paper box and carton was set. And then the ideas and ways used for building up the curriculum system are presented as integrating the teaching contents, reforming the teaching mode and strengthening the teaching management. Finally, the significance of carrying out the teaching reform was put forward, and the achievements of course construction should be applied to the usual teaching work.

Present paper reports investigations carried on corrosion behaviour of mild steel in effluents collected from paper mill treatment plant. For this purpose, effluent was collected from after primary and secondary treatment stages. Mild steel samples were exposed to these effluents for duration of six months. The corroded samples were analysed for weight loss and extent of localised corrosion. Electrochemical polarization tests like open circuit potential (OCP), tafel plot and anodic polarization were also performed to estimate corrosion rate, polarization resistance and localized corrosion parameters in the studied system. The extent of corrosion attack has been correlated with effluent parameters namely pH, electrical conductivity (Ec), total suspended solids, total dissolved solids, chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, chloride content, colour and sulphate.

Application in paper pulp as dry strengthening agent of homemade water in water cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) emulsion was studied. Good collaborative effect was achieved when Homemade CPAM was used in bleached wheat straw pulp with strengthening agent E and with cationic additives L as paper pulp strengthening agent. It was also showed that distinct strengthening effect was obtained when homemade CPAM emulsion was applied in mixture of wood pulp which was needle bleached kraft pulp (NBKP) and straw pulp, breaking length and tearing index of hand sheet made of mix pulp was respectively increased by 22.2% and17.0% when the dosage of CPAM was 0.8% of dry fiber. Through analysis of handsheet section scanning electron microscopy (SEM) photos, strengthening mechanism of CPAM emulsion to paper pulp was preliminary studied.

Printing quality mainly depends on reproduction of the color and level, paper and ink influence the reproduction of color and level. In this paper, it is mainly through measuring the paper smoothness, whiteness, opacity, glossiness etc. parameters, using print press printed sample of different paper, Measuring density of color piece, calculate the grayscale, color deviation and color efficiency, and draw color wheel figure, thus obtaining conclusion that special material paper performance influence color reproduction and energy saving or material saving

Paper pulp molding products meet the product-protecting requirements and operating requirements through all kinds of structural forms in the application of product packaging, fixation and product buffering shockproof. Paper pulp molding products structural design influences the buffering performance of paper pulp molding products and packaging requirements of the products, therefore influences the packaging structure, processing production, mold design and processing method of paper pulp molding products.

This paper presents a distributed machine vision inspection system, which has a large field of view (FOV) and can perform high precision, high speed real-time inspection for wide paper sheet detection. The system consists of multiple GigE Vision linescan cameras which connected though Gigabit Ethernet. The cameras are arranged into a linear array so that every camera’s FOV is merged into one large FOV in the meantime the resolution keeps unchanged. In order to acquire high processing speed, the captured images from each camera are sent into one dedicate computer for distributed and parallel image processing. Experimental results show that the system with fine detection capability can satisfy the requirements of real time detection and find out the defects on the production line effectively.

In order to solve the online measurement problem of paper moisture rate technical specification, the moisture rate measuring technique based on the infrared spectroscopic analysis is researched in this paper. The basic law on the spectral absorption of medium is expatiated and the problems applying the law to the moisture ratio measurement are also analyzed. The key technology that can realize the ratio on-line measurement by means of two spectral lines (measuring spectral line and the reference line) is explored. The measurement project is designed and the role of the main functional module in the project is discussed. The corresponding experimental research is carried out. The analysis results are given.

The ink transfer rate and ink absorption rate directly affects the quality of printing matter, so it is very important to know the influence factors of the ink transfer rate and ink absorption rate. This paper studied on the impact of offset paper smoothness and offset paper absorbency on the ink transfer rate, the impact of offset paper compactness and offset paper absorbency on the ink absorption rate. The results show that ink transfer rate is affected by offset paper smoothness within a certain range. The ink transfer rate is affected greatly by offset paper absorbency. The ink absorption rate is greatly affected by offset paper compactness and absorbency.

Low density printing paper was widely used in printing best-seller at present. Besides of high bulk, good stiffness, soft color, it also had some advantages, such as reducing user’s load, protecting eyes, extending the storage time etc. Quality index of domestic low density printing paper was lower than foreign index. The gap mainly expressed on tensile index specially. This study used Aspen BECMP as main pulp, as a result of its higher strength, lower cost and other advantages comparing with PRC-APMP. Here we discussed three pulps ratio to make low density printing paper. The results of experiment indicated that using Aspen BECMP was able to make low density printing paper by adding certain amount chemistry pulp. Moreover, the best bulk value can up to 2.45cm3/g, and the tensile index was 36.08Nm/g.

In this paper, we studied the possibility of wood powder in place of mechanical pulp in paper making to get high bulkness, also the dry-bleaching method of wood powder, the strength enhancement and retention effect for wood powder during paper making were all introduced and analyzed in detail.

Sepiolite has good adsorptivity due to their high surface area and structural channels. During the process of making aluminium silicate fiber paper, inorganic binders retaintion was little because of the smooth surface of aluminium silicate fibers. In this study, sepiolite was used to improve tensile strength of the sheet by increasing inorganic binders retaintion rate through its high adsorptivity. The effect of sepiolite on the tensile strength of alimunium silicate fiber paper was investigated. The results showed that the best mass ratio of aluminium silicate fibers to spiolite was 7:3. Under this condition, the tensile strength of the sheet was 4.79 N•m/g, which increased by 24.2% from the one without sepiolite.

Tobacco stem and tobacco dust made reconstituted tobacco paper-base with a paper-making method, effect of extracted and refined on tobacco stem and tobacco dust, particular effect of tobacco stem and tobacco dust ratio on physical properties, chemical composition and microstructure of reconstituted tobacco paper-base were studied. The results indicated that the content of water soluble sugars, total alkaloid, chloride, total nitrogen of the extracted tobacco stem and extracted tobacco dust were decreased, content of holocellulose was increased. With decreasing of tobacco stem pulp ratio (increasing of tobacco dust pulp ratio) of reconstituted tobacco paper-base, there was rapid decrease in tensile index, tear index, bulk and air permeability of reconstituted tobacco paper-base. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that tobacco dust ratio more than 30%, bulk of reconstituted tobacco paper-base decreased significantly. Content of water soluble sugar, total alkaloid, chloride and total nitrogen of tobacco reconstituted paper-base decreasing significantly after paper-making.

Offset paper properties have great influence on the quality of print matter. Eleven offset paper samples were printed by IGT printability tester, then the density and L*a*b values of printed samples were measured. The relationship between paper properties and optical density or color gamut of paper printed was studied. The results show that main density increases with the increased ink quantity before the main density reaches saturation, the saturation density becomes greater with increased ink absorbency. When the smoothness is larger, lower ink quantity is needed for reaching saturation density, and larger color gamut is obtained. This study will provide references for the paper making and printing enterprises.

Different fiber materials were modified and the effects of modified fiber on paper performance were evaluated. It’s shown that the strength of paper can be promoted by modified fiber. When the mixing ratio of modified NBKP fiber was 5%, the tensile index was increased from 38.28 N•m/g to 47.21 N•m/g. When the addition ratio of modified HYP fiber was 1.5%, the internal bond strength of paper was increased from 49.41 J/ m2 to 55.30 J/ m2, and the tensile index was increased by 48.06%. When the addition ratio of modified fiber of sawdust was 1.5% and mixed with OCC, the tensile index of paper was increased from 18.89N•m/g to 27.55N•m/g, and the ring crush index was increased by 13.99%.

Paper printability directly affects the printing process and the final quality of printing matter. Therefore, it is significant to establish accurate, scientific, reasonable comprehensive evaluation model of the paper printability. Five art paper samples were researched in this paper. Different paper properties including whiteness, opacity, smoothness, ink absorption, tensile strength and burst strength were tested. The comprehensive evaluation model of art paper printability was obtained by using SPSS software. Then printing dot gain rate, printing density, printing glossiness and overprint rate were measured for verifying predicted results. Results show that the evaluation model can provide a practical and quantitative method for rapid evaluation of comprehensive printability of art paper.

Some properties of paper sludge were analyzed, including water content, organic material content, pH value, fiber content, ash content,C,H,O,N,S and metal content in dried sludge. The results showed that water content was high, organic material content was high, pH value was in a neutral level, metal elements were varied. Besides, calorific value was detected in a thermal power plant.Disposal of residue wastes from pulp and paper mills is a paramount issue facing the world today. Paper sludge is the solid waste from papermaking industry. The sludge treatment and disposal process will bring about environmental pollution. Therefore,much attentions should be paid to disposal of paper sludge. It is expected that this paper can provide deep insights into the disposal of paper sludge.

In this paper, we proposed the method to synthesize the modified polyamide polyamine enhancer, which takes PAE, styrene and acrylic as raw materials. Factors that would affect the preparation of the modified polyamide polyamine enhancer, such as monomer amount, reaction time, initiator amount and emulsion concentration, were discussed in detail. Experimental results showed that the modified polyamide polyamine enhancer achieved optimum effect the strength of tube roll base paper under the conditions: the amount of acrylic is 6%, the ratio of styrene and PAE is 2:1, holding time 4h, and the amount of initiator 0.7%. The modified polyamide polyamine enhancer applied to tube roll base paper. The optimum amount of modified polyamide enhancer was 1%. The ring crush strength of paper prepared in this condition can be increased by 44% and the stiffness can be increased by 46%.

The purpose of this resarch was investigated the air-oil temperature field distribution under air-oil lubrication and oil lublubrication, meanwhile also study the air-oil lubrication effect under different air velocity inlet the bearing cavities of the high-speed paper machine dryer section. Base on the CFD theory, the temperature field of CARB bearing outer ring and the velocity field of the bearing cavities were simulated by the FLUENT software.Result show that air-oil lubricatin can reach the same cooling effect is contras with oil lubrication in the same heat production by roller; the best air-velocity value of air-oil lubrication system is obtain for the change of temperature and pressure in bearing cavities. It is confirm that the air-oil lubrication is viable in the high-speed paper machine dryer section.

The different paper has the different Surface Characteristic, which has the different influences on the printing color Reproduction. Through the paper printability, the color gamut experiments of digital printing, The influence of surface characteristics of paper on digital printing color reproduction was analyzed according to color rendering ability, The results indicated that the printed matter had better color efficiency, greater color gamut and smaller hue error and grayscale which had higher paper smoothness and glossiness, the higher paper whiteness is in favor of color reproduction. The surface characteristic of paper limits color reproduction. To ensure printing quality, should choose better color efficiency of paper.

For high print quality, halftone dots should have minimal dot gain and sharp, circular edges, the receiving surface must have a line, high-porosity structure and be hydrophilic. Paper surface chemistry requirements for good inkjet print quality are so unconventional that new paper grades for printing should be specially designed. In this paper, the printability, coating structure and the color reproduction after printing of coated paper was studied.

It analysises the performance advantages of the green packaging materials made by synthetic paper and the feasibility that it replaces the materials made by paper and plastic, it elaborate the raw material ratio of synthetic paper material and production process, and a study on the mechanical properties of synthetic paper honeycomb paperboard was been done, it provides a theoretical basis to drive the developmental application of green packaging materials made by synthesis paper.

Composite soils have been widely used in civil engineering applications, especially in slopes, embankment dam and landfills. This paper aims to investigate effect of fiber inclusion on shear stress of composite soil (i.e. clay composite). A series of laboratory direct shear tests carried out to evaluate paper reinforcement effect on strength behavior of composite clay. Kaolin clay was selected as soil part of the composite and paper was used as reinforcement. The paper reinforcement parameters differed from one test to another, the paper length was changed from 10 mm to 30 mm and paper content were varied from 5% to 15%. Normal stress kept constant at 150 kPa. For each test, stress_ displacement graph derived and the results were compared. The results proved that inclusion of paper reinforcement affected strength behaviour of clay composite so that increasing in paper reinforcement content and length caused increasing in shear stress.

Reinforced soil has been among the most effective soil modification materials. Its use has been expanded rapidly into civil engineering, geotechnical engineering and pavement engineering. Reinforcing subgarde in pavement systems has always been an issue. This study focuses on effect of paper inclusion on the modulus of elasticity of subgrade material. Paper was used for this investigation. Paper contents and aspect ratio have been changed during these tests. The paper percentage varied from 0 % (for unreinforced samples) to 20%. Silty sand was used as sub grade material. Unconfined compression tests were carried out to investigate behaviour of the composite under different condition. The paper reinforcment length and paper reinforcment content found to play important rule on the modulus of elasticity of paper reinforced samples. Furthermore it was observed that ductility of sample increased by paper inclusion.

Security vulnerabilities and the slow speed of traditional Digital Rights Management (DRM) in E-Paper device are the major restrictions of E-Paper industry. This paper introduces a new type of E-Paper controller which is integrated with DRM. DRM is realized in hardware. Data stored in main memory and controller memory or transferred from CPU to controller are encrypted. So that so they are more secure. Display process and decryption process are combined into one pipeline and can run simultaneously. Thus higher speed and less security vulnerabilities are given to controller.

Rice husk is a form of agricultural biomass that provides an abundant silicon dioxides source. This study used rice husk ash as a material to prepare paper coating. Silica powder has been synthesized by the refluxing of rice husk ash with HCl 1,2 and 3 M at different time (60 and 120 min.) The silicon dioxide extraction yield reached 85% and was effect by concentration of HCl solution and reaction time. The structure of the obtained silica powder were characterized by X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Particle size distribution (PSD), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), CIE L*a*b* (Visible spectrophotometer) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The highest purity of silica sample were 98.7% SiO2, CIE L*a*b* = 94.79 +0.48 +1.24, ∆E ≈ 3.28 (white powder) and 2Ɵ = 22o (silica). Particle had a uniform size less than 3 μm. The paper coating was made from acrylic resin mixed with synthesized silica that refluxing by HCl 2 M 120 min at different ratio (2%, 4% and 6%) and paper coated with a gravure printing machine. The qualities of paper coating were analyzed from viscosity, Transparency (Density) and color gamut of inkjet printing. The paper coating that mixed synthesized silica from rice husk 4% was highest qualities because have viscosity 358 ± 24.99ctp., Density = 0.19, and widely color gamut.

In this paper, Old Corrugated Container (OCC) was used as the raw material for making paper. The layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly process of creating highly structured thin films was adopted to modify the surface of OCC fibres. Poly dimethyldiallylammonium chloride (PDADMAC) and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) have been used to build up polyelectrolyte multilayers on OCC fibres under a certain condition. Zeta potential analyzer was used to monitor the dynamic adsorption of PDADMAC and HEC with different amount on OCC fibers. Strength measurements of the sheets including tensile index and bursting index were also determined, showing a significant improvement in physical strength with the increase of adsorbed layer number. Compared with not being processed sheets, tensile index and bursting index of sheets from treated fibre with polyelectrolyte multilayers were raised by 36.65% and 49.50%, respectively. Furthermore, filtration time analysis of OCC fibre suspension showed that the built up of PDADMAC and HEC on OCC fibres could improve the fiber-fiber joint strength of joints from polymer-treated fibers, which made the filtration time decline from 30 s to 10.6 s. In addition, SEM was introduced to observe the morphology of the PDADMAC/HEC multilayers. The images revealed that the surface of OCC fibres structured a film like plastic, which could be ascribed to the adsorption layer of polyelectrolyte.
