In the previous work of Yue et al. (2022), the ionospheric evolution during the Holocene (9455 BC to 2015 AD) was comprehensively and carefully investigated for the first time using the Global Coupled Ionosphere-Thermosphere-Electrodynamics Model developed at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (GCITEM-IGGCAS), driven by realistic geomagnetic fields, CO2 levels, and solar activity derived from ancient media records and modern measurements. In this study, we further quantify the effects of the three drivers on thermospheric neutral density and temperature variations during the Holocene. We find that the oscillations of solar activity contribute more than 80 % of the thermospheric variability, while either CO2 or the geomagnetic field contributes less than 10 %. The effect of CO2 on the global mean neutral density and temperature is comparable to that of the geomagnetic field throughout the Holocene but is more significant after 1800 AD. In addition, thermospheric density and temperature show approximately linear variations with the dipole moment of the geomagnetic field, CO2, and F10.7, with only the linear growth rate associated with the geomagnetic field varying significantly in universal time and latitude. The increasing dipole moment and CO2 cool and contract the thermosphere, while solar activity has the opposite effect. The higher the altitude, the greater the influence of the three factors on the thermosphere. Different factors produce different seasonal variations in thermosphere changes. Furthermore, we predict that a 400 ppm increase in CO2 will result in a 50 %–70 % and 84–114 K reduction in global mean neutral density and temperature, respectively, which should directly affect the orbit and lifetime of spacecraft and space debris.

ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin-like motifs) family, a group of extracellular multifunctional enzymes, has been proven to play a pivotal role in the tumor. In pancreatic cancer, the role and mechanism of this family remain unclear. The present study aimed to figure out the hub gene of ADAMTSs and explore the exact roles in the prognosis and biological functions in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).We used several databases to analyze the ADAMTS family and then screen out the hub genes. The expression of ADAMTS12 in 106 pairs of PDAC tumors and adjacent normal tissues was examined by immunohistochemistry, and its correlations with clinical parameters were further analyzed. The impacts of ADAMTS12 on the migration of PDAC cells were predicted by gene set enrichment analysis and confirmed by transwell assays. The potential impacts of ADAMTS12 on the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) were identified by database analysis and experimental proof of real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and Western blotting.Our study found that ADAMTS12 was a crucial gene in PDAC, and it was highly expressed in tumor tissues when compared to that in the adjacent tissues. ADATMS12 had predictive value of a poor prognosis for PDAC. The elevation of ADAMTS12 was parallel to the progression of PDAC. Inhibition of ADAMTS12 suppressed the migration of PDAC cells and interfered with the process of EMT.ADAMTS12 is a crucial member of ADAMTSs in PDAC and a predictor of poor prognosis. Additionally, based on its impacts on migration and metastasis in PDAC and the relationship with EMT, ADAMTS12 plays a role of an oncogene in PDAC and may be a promising target for treatment.

Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is currently the third leading cause of iatrogenic renal failure. This research mainly explores the protective effect of Klotho on CIN. Klotho (10 ng/g) was administered after the establishment of a CIN mouse model, and the changes of tissue structure and renal function were observed, and the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and senescence-related factors were detected. Compared with the control group, the brush border of renal tubular epithelial cells disappeared, cytoplasmic vacuole-like changes, renal tubular dilatation, and renal function were significantly reduced in the model group. Klotho treatment can effectively alleviate changes in renal tubular epithelial structure and function. Compared with the model group, Klotho treatment can obviously inhibit the expression of P27 and P53, and promote the expression of Sirt1 and Bmi-1, and Klotho can regulate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. Exogenous Klotho can slow down nephrocyte senescence by regulating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, thereby protecting kidney.

With the help of natural language processing and machine learning, we can analyze the information of online recruitment text posted by employer companies and dig the requirement features of these employment positions, and this is a meaningful work with practical value. However, existing methods for analyzing online recruitment information are too simple to withstand the mass data on the Internet, so this paper aims to study the analysis and forecast of employment position requirements for college students based on big data analysis. At first, the recruitment information of companies is preprocessed, keywords in the recruitment text are extracted by the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) algorithm in the Python Chinese word segmentation toolkit, words in the recruitment text are segmented using the open source tool Word2Vec, and the uncounted words in the recruitment text are identified based on the Conditional Random Field (CRF) model. Then, this paper compares the occurrence probability of skills learnt by college students in a certain company employment position with the occurrence probability of the skills in all employment positions on the website, so as to find out the core skills learnt by college students that can match with the job positions required by companies. At last, this paper builds a XGBoost model to forecast the employment position requirements for college students, and verifies the validity of the model using experimental results.

Liver transplantation (LT) is an effective treatment option for end-stage liver disease. Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitors, such as rapamycin, are widely used post LT.In this review, we focused on the anti-cancer activities and metabolic side effects of rapamycin after LT. The literature available on PubMed for the period of January 1999-September 2022 was reviewed. The key words were rapamycin, sirolimus, liver transplantation, hepatocellular carcinoma, diabetes, and lipid metabolism disorder.Rapamycin has shown excellent effects and is safer than other immunosuppressive regimens. It has exhibited excellent anti-cancer activity and has the potential in preventing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence post LT. Rapamycin is closely related to two long-term complications after LT, diabetes and lipid metabolism disorders.Rapamycin prevents HCC recurrence post LT in some patients, but it also induces metabolic disorders. Reasonable use of rapamycin benefits the liver recipients.

Tides are universal and affect spatially distributed systems, ranging from planetary to galactic scales. In the Earth–Moon system, effects caused by lunar tides were reported in the Earth’s crust, oceans, neutral gas-dominated atmosphere (including the ionosphere) and near-ground geomagnetic field. However, whether a lunar tide effect exists in the plasma-dominated regions has not been explored yet. Here we show evidence of a lunar tide-induced signal in the plasmasphere, the inner region of the magnetosphere, which is filled with cold plasma. We obtain these results by analysing variations in the plasmasphere’s boundary location over the past four decades from multisatellite observations. The signal possesses distinct diurnal (and monthly) periodicities, which are different from the semidiurnal (and semimonthly) variations dominant in the previously observed lunar tide effects in other regions. These results demonstrate the importance of lunar tidal effects in plasma-dominated regions, influencing understanding of the coupling between the Moon, atmosphere and magnetosphere system through gravity and electromagnetic forces. Furthermore, these findings may have implications for tidal interactions in other two-body celestial systems.

The 11 October 1918 devastating tsunami in northwest Puerto Rico had been used as an example for earthquake-induced landslide tsunami hazard. Three pieces of evidence pointed to a landslide as the origin of the tsunami: the discovery of a large submarine landslide scar from bathymetry data collected by shipboard high-resolution multibeam sonar, reported breaks of submarine cable within the scar, and the fit of tsunami models to flooding observations. Newly processed seafloor imagery collected by remotely operated vehicle (ROV) show, however, pervasive Fe–Mn crust (patina) on the landslide walls and floor, indicating that the landslide scar is at least several hundred years old. C14 dates of sediment covering the landslide floor verify this interpretation. Although we have not searched the region systematically for an alternative tsunami source, we propose a possible source—a two-segment normal-fault rupture along the eastern wall of Mona rift. The proposed fault location matches the published normal faults with steep bathymetry and is close to the International Seismological Center–Global Earthquake Model catalog locations of the 1918 mainshock and aftershocks. The ROV observations further show fresh vertical slickensides and rock exposure along the proposed fault trace. Hydrodynamic models from an Mw 7.2 earthquake rupture along the eastern wall of the rift faithfully reproduce the reported tsunami amplitudes, polarities, and arrival times. Our analysis emphasizes the value of close-up observations and physical samples to augment remote sensing data in natural hazard studies.

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is a mycotoxin and is the most carcinogenic of all known chemicals. In view of the AFB1 characteristics of widespread distribution, serious pollution, great harm to humans, and animals and difficult to remove, it is urgent to develop a convenient and sensitive detection method. Moreover, chromatographic test strips (CTSs) are a rapid detection technology that combines labeling technology with chromatography technology. CTSs have been widely used in the fields of environmental monitoring, medical diagnosis, and food safety analysis in recent years. Different from other immune assays, they have the advantages of short measuring time, low cost, high efficiency and no need for professionals to operate. In addition, the introduction of nanomaterials has laid a good foundation for the detection of high sensitivity, high specificity and high efficiency via CTSs. Herein, we tend to comprehensively introduce the applications of chromatographic methods in AFB1 detection and pay attention to the signal detection modes based on nanomaterials in antibody-based immunochromatographic strips (ICSs), such as colorimetric, fluorescent, chemiluminescent, and Raman scattering sensing. Some typical examples are also listed in this review. In the end, we make a summary and put forward prospects for the development of CTSs.• This review is the first systematic review about the applications of antibody-/aptamer-based chromatographic methods for rapid AFB1 detection.• Pay attention to the signal detection modes based on nanomaterials in antibody-ICSs, such as colorimetric, fluorescent, chemiluminescent and Raman scattering sensing.• Make a summary about some typical examples and put forward prospects for the development of CTSs.

Thermal electron depression and energetic electron depletion are two well-known features of the nightside Martian ionosphere. While the latter has been extensively studied in the past, there is no report of systematic and firm identification of the former and hence the correlation between them is unknown. Applying an automatic procedure to the Mars Express total electron content (TEC) measurements, we identify a large number of TEC depression features that amount to one-third of the available nightside measurements. Similar to the observation of energetic electron depletion, large amplitude TEC depression is more frequently observed near strong magnetic fields, as an expected result of the established solar-wind-driven scenario that the shielding of precipitating electrons by closed magnetic loops is responsible for the observed reduction in thermal electron density. However, small amplitude depression appears to be uniformly distributed across the Martian surface, implying an alternative origin yet to be determined. Contrary to our expectation, TEC depression and energetic electron depletion are not usually collocated, but this dilemma may simply reflect the complexity of the magnetic field topology with respect to the spacecraft trajectory.

Gut microbiota dysbiosis induced by acute pancreatitis (AP) exacerbates pancreatic injury and systemic inflammatory responses. The alleviation of gut microbiota dysbiosis through faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is considered a potential strategy to reduce tissue damage and inflammation in many clinical disorders. Here, we aim to investigate the effect of gut microbiota and microbiota-derived metabolites on AP and further clarify the mechanisms associated with pancreatic damage and inflammation.AP rat and mouse models were established by administration of caerulein or sodium taurocholate in vivo. Pancreatic acinar cells were exposed to caerulein and lipopolysaccharide in vitro to simulate AP.Normobiotic FMT alleviated AP-induced gut microbiota dysbiosis and ameliorated the severity of AP, including mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative damage and inflammation. Normobiotic FMT induced higher levels of NADGut microbiota-derived NMN alleviates the severity of AP by activating the SIRT3-PRDX5 pathway. Normobiotic FMT could be served as a potential strategy for AP treatment.

FOXM1 acts as an oncogenic transcription factor and is involved in multiple hallmarks of human malignancies. Recent studies have demonstrated that FOXM1 is upregulated and correlated with poor prognosis in a majority of cancers. However, there are few pan-cancer analyses of FOXM1. This study aimed to investigate the expression profiles and clinical significance of FOXM1 in 31 types of solid tumors. We explored the expression profiles and the prognostic value of FOXM1 in pan-cancer across The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). We further used lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) tissues combined with quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) for experimental validation of FOXM1 expression. Besides, we verified the function of FOXM1 in a lung cancer cell line. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was conducted to explore signaling pathways related to FOXM1 expression. We observed that up-regulated FOXM1 was significantly related to poor survival in most tumors. Furthermore, there are significant correlations between FOXM1 expression and the infiltrating levels of different types of immune cells, TMB, MSI and immune checkpoint genes in a variety of cancers. Additional analysis based on IMvigor 210 cohort confirmed that patients with high level of FOXM1 exhibited a superior response to anti-PD-L1 therapy, and had a prolonged OS. In conclusion, this study indicated that FOXM1 could serve as a prognostic biomarker for most types of cancers and played a crucial role in the tumor immune microenvironment.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the most common type of pancreatic cancer, is characterized by poor treatment response and low survival time. The current clinical treatment for advanced PDAC is still not effective. In recent years, the research and application of immunotherapy have developed rapidly and achieved substantial results in many malignant tumors. However, the translational application in PDAC is still far from satisfactory and needs to be developed urgently. To carry out the study of immunotherapy, it is necessary to fully decipher the immune characteristics of PDAC. This review summarizes the recent progress of the tumor microenvironment (TME) of PDAC and highlights its link with immunotherapy. We describe the molecular cues and corresponding intervention methods, collate several promising targets and progress worthy of further study, and put forward the importance of integrated immunotherapy to provide ideas for future research of TME and immunotherapy of PDAC.

In physics, the process of heat conduction of objects is similar to the process of network public opinion propagation of major emergencies. Based on the theory of heat transfer, this paper analogizes the process of network public opinion information propagation and object heat conduction and analogizes the exchange of network public opinion information between individuals in social networks to the course of object heat transfer. Based on the accumulation of individual energy in social network, the propagation model of network public opinion is established, and the propagation control model of network public opinion in major emergencies is established based on the heat conduction theory. The influence of individual interest, propensity to spread, transmission coefficient of network public opinion information, and the breadth of dissemination on the dissemination of network public opinion in major emergencies are analyzed, respectively. This study provides some inspiration for the disposal and governance of network public opinion, propagation of major emergencies.
