Solar energy consumption is a systematic study used to review the design of facilities, services, and equipment in an organization against specifications of solar panel. The solar panel energy consumption analysis is a work that should be done at the beginning of a solar energy. This way, potential changes can be highlighted before they affect the solar energy budget and schedule. The proposed model provides the IOT-based smart solar energy consumption analysis and control model by using solar photovoltaic micro grid. The proposed IOT design must meet product and process requirements. The solar panel energy should properly address important aspects of production processes. This should include risks related to product quality and safety. Finally, unacceptable risks must be minimized by design. In the solar energy consumption analysis process, the deliverables should be evaluated; customers should precheck the proposed design and identify problematic areas, if any. Solar energy consumption analysis reveals whether user requirements and features are sufficient to achieve the desired outcome. Likewise, there should be corrective actions for discrepancies found in design reviews.

This study provides photographic evidence of presence of species of glowing mushroom Mycena chlorophos in Goa. The species was observed in buffer area of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.

This review is based on Ayurvedic texts and online scientific databases like PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct to study use of scientific research methods in ayurvedic formulation Triphala. The following keywords were used: Triphala, terminalia chebula, terminalia bellerica, Phyllanthus embilica, chemical constituents, gallic acid, chebulinic acid, and molecular docking to write this review. Studies about Triphala and their individual drugs as well as their active compounds were concentrated upon. There are many research works being conducted on Triphala and its therapeutic effect. Yet, the need to develop these works to a fully utilisable form for the medical community is not achieved. This review concludes that Triphala is a treasure that needs to be further evaluated for the betterment of health globally.

Bulk crystals of Ga0.9In0.1Sb have been grown using vertical directional solidification (VDS) technique. The experiments were carried out using resistive furnace with temperature gradient of 10 0C/cm. The 4N grade Gallium (Ga) Indium (In) and Antimony (Sb) were taken in stoichiometric proportion and sealed in a quartz ampoule with cone angle 30o, under Argon atmosphere at pressure of 100 Torr. The compositional analysis has been done using EDAX technique. The effects of external vibrations on significant improvement in segregation of Indium content, associated multiphase growth and microcracks in crystal has been discussed.

Sixty-four sera samples were collected from 25- and 45-days old puppies [16 puppies each from vaccinated (Group I) and unvaccinated (Group II) dam] brought to Immunization Unit, Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital, Chennai. The samples were subjected to functional antibody assay (SNT) and commercially available Indirect ELISA to know the kinetics of maternal derived antibody (MDA) against canine distemper. The mean MDA titre in Group I puppies were found as 4.38 ± 1.41 and the ELISA titre were 30 - 60 and 10–30 AU on 25 and 45 days of age respectively whereas the Group II (MDA-UV) had titre value of0.33 ± 0.60 and 0 by SNT (SN50) and ≤ 10 and ≤ 3 AU by Indirect ELISA on 25 and 45 days of pups respectively. All participants were subjected to undergo CBCT for assessing the variations in thickness of crestal aspect of facial/buccal/labial alveolar bone (CBT). PES and PROMS (patient-related outcome measures) were assessed using VAS for pain threshold and esthetic satisfaction following implant placement and after 6th post-operative month.Results: The mean reduction in CBT showed a statistically significant difference between and within the groups, in comparison to IIP and DIP groups, which demonstrated an average reduction in CBT 0.4 ± 0.1 and 0.2 ± 0.1 at 6 months following implant placement, respectively. The SST group showed a significantly lesser reduction in CBT of 0.05 ± 0.02. However, the mean difference in PES within and among the groups showed no significant difference statistically at P < 0.05. On comparison of individual scores of PES between the groups, the results showed significant difference statistically at P < 0.001.Conclusion: The SST group demonstrated minimal reduction in CBT and a superior PES at the end of 6 months compared with the IIP and DIP groups.Keywords: socket shield technique, immediate implant placement, socket preservation, randomized controlled trial, pink esthetic score

Novel influenza A H1N1 virus (pH1N1) was the predominant strain in the 2009 pandemic. It continues to circulate along with other influenza strains in the post pandemic era. This new virus is nevertheless well known for its strong association with high cardiovascular mortality and a high propensity to preferentially affect young and otherwise healthy adults, resulting in a clustering of severe and even fatal cases in patients of the productive age group. H1N1 infection is a multifaceted disease. It affects the lung parenchyma as well as the pulmonary vasculature. It also affects the multisystemic vasculature and can cause other embolic events not strictly falling in the “usual” thrombotic category. We herein present a case of H1N1 influenza pneumonia induced severe ARDS with pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) and pulmonary fibrosis.

Background: The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and the lockdown imposed due to it have served as a major setback to tuberculosis (TB) control. We therefore conducted this study to assess the profile of TB patients presenting to our department immediately after COVID-19 lockdown, which was imposed in India from 24 March 2020 and continued for >3 months, and to compare it with the pre-pandemic pattern. Methods: This was an observational study conducted at the pulmonary medicine department of our tertiary care institute. We evaluated the consecutive cases of TB referred to or diagnosed new by our department as soon as the lockdown was lifted and non-COVID services resumed. The data of 2020 and 2019 during September and October month were gathered and analysed retrospectively. Results: A total of 162 patients were hospitalised from September to October 2019, while 40 non-COVID patients were hospitalised during September to October 2020 in our unit. The mean duration of symptoms was 1 month in both the groups. The incidence of TB cases amongst the patients needing hospitalisation after lockdown was more in 2020 [57.5%; 23 diagnosed TB cases (12 males and 11 females) out of 40 non-COVID hospitalised cases] than in 2019 [13.5%; 22 diagnosed TB cases (13 males 9 females) out of 162 hospitalised cases], and this was statistically significant (chi-squared test: p < 0.00001). There was a statistically significant increase in transfers to the TB hospital where patients requiring further long-term medical care were referred to; in 2020 (12.5%; 5 out of 23 diagnosed TB cases) as compared with those in 2019 (0 out of 22 diagnosed TB cases) (p = 0.049, Fischer’s exact test). There was a statistically significant increase in the duration of hospital stay in 2020 than that in 2019 (p = 0.0076, unpaired t-test). There was no statistical difference in occurrence of pulmonary versus extrapulmonary TB (EPTB) or in occurrence of complications of TB in the two years. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic and its lockdown have skewed the profile and pattern of the clinical manifestations and the complications of TB with a more severe trend.

Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM) are rare anomalies of pulmonary vascular system which may be incidentally detected or can have manifestations resulting from right to left shunt. PAVM can cause various systemic implications including central nervous system complications like stroke, brain abscess due to paradoxical emboli which mostly seen in previously undiagnosed PAVMs indicating importance of early diagnosis and timely intervention in PAVM. Computed Tomography Pulmonary Angiography (CTPA) is the diagnostic method of choice in PAVM. We present here a unique case of complex multiple PAVM presented with refractory hypoxemia in a middle aged patient diagnosed in our centre initially evaluated for malignancy based on chest radiography & High Resolution Computed tomography(HRCT)thorax findings and symptoms, later on after CTPA was diagnosed to have complex PAVM which showed clinicoradiological improvement following pulmonary vascular plugging. This case shows clinical scenario, diagnostic & management methods and differential diagnosis to be discussed in similar clinicoradiological pattern and peculiarity of PAVM despite advanced age.

In the present study, the pyrolysis behaviour of Capsicum Annuum stem Waste (CAW) was studied applying thermogravimetric analysis to evaluate the intrinsic kinetic parameters to develop a pyrolysis reactor for utilizing CAW. The thermal decomposition of CAW was achieved between 373 – 1173 K under inert conditions at different heating rates of 10, 20, and 30 K min-1. Model-free kinetic methods like Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS), Ozawa Flynn Wall (OFW) and Coats Redfern methods were applied to work out the kinetic parameters. To identify the utility of CAW and its biochar, physio-chemical characteristics such as proximate and ultimate analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier Transform Infrared analysis are reported.

Nano Ni-Zn ferrite with composition Ni 0.6 Zn 0.4 Fe2O4 is prepared by using sol-gel auto-combustion method with citric acid as a fuel. The structural properties of synthesized nano-ferrite is characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique while the electrical properties have been studied using two probe method. The X-ray diffraction study confirms that, there is a formation of single-phase cubic spinel with most intense peak at [311] having lattice constant of 8.3585 A0 and the average particle size is found to be 45.63 nm. In addition to this, the electrical resistivity of Ni-Zn Ferrite decreases with increase in temperature which exhibits semiconductor nature.

Background: Laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation are usually associated with tachycardia and hypertension. Pre-administration of melatonin has anxiolytic and sedative property which can reduce the tachycardia and hypertension during the surgical procedures. Aims and Objectives: The present study aimed to evaluate the melatonin effect on hemodynamic changes during laryngoscopy and intubation. Materials and Methods: This prospective study was done in the department of anesthesia, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Total 80 patients were included in the study based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Patients were divided into two groups. Group-A treated with placebo and Group-B treated with melatonin (6 mg) and demographic, clinical, and hemodynamic parameters were recorded. The data were analyzed with unpaired t-test with the use SPSS (20.0) version software. Results: Comparison of number and percentage of age, gender, and blood groups between the Group-I and Group-II not showed any significant difference. Group-I and Group-II mean age, height, and weight not showed any significant difference. Mean heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial pressure were compared between the Group-I and Group-II at basal, during, after 1, 3, 5, and 10 min showed significant difference. Conclusion: Pre-administration melatonin showed significant reduction of hemodynamic changes compared to placebo group.

The aim of the current research is to assess the anticancer activity of the proteins identified from the crude protein extract derived from Hermetiaillucens larvae by computational methods. Bioinformatics methods were used to identify the protein sequence and virtual screening for the prediction of protein structure, their physico-chemical characteristics and functional aspects, that aid in exploring the anti-cancer interaction that is inclined to inhibit the oncoprotein activity. Due to the pathological process transpired by HPV, an array of genetic alterations, including the overexpression of oncoproteins or the inactivation of tumor suppressor proteins like TP53, BCL2, MDM2, ARF and BAX occur. The altered protein signaling pathways convulse to cervical cancer. In this research, we identified proteins, from the crude extract derived from Hermetiaillucens by LC-MS method. Further Computational screening of the selected proteins were employed to assess the functional units which has anticancer activity. We predicted four proteins Metallothionine, Defensin like precursor 1 protein, Heat shock protein 90 and NADH dehydrogenase and eluted the protein sequence from NCBI GenBank database. These sequences were used to predict physicochemical properties and protein structure prediction. Pharmacophore analysis of the peptide sequences as potential targets for cancer treatment was evaluated. Molecular docking of peptide sequences with target protein structure was carried out. To screen the best active potential molecule for cancer treatment the Molecular dynamics of docked protein-peptide structures were administered. The molecular docking of the peptides with onco-proteins has been predicted and virtually screened based on RMSD values. The resultant protein sequence was evaluated further by amino acid sequencing, extensive scrutiny of the proteins, advanced computational imaging, molecular docking examination and assessed the results for clinical interpretation. To summate, bioinformatics assessment enabled us to identify four key proteins derived from Hermetiaillucens larvae that have strong inhibitory function against proteins that cause cervical cancer.

Background: Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), predominantly obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), is a frequent phenomenon in interstitial lung disease (ILD) and may be associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Methodology: A prospective, observational, hospital-based study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital after ethics committee permission. The study group consisted of 100 consecutive ILD patients diagnosed by a multidisciplinary diagnosis. They were evaluated for the prevalence of SDB with a polysomnography after a comprehensive history, detailed clinical examination, calculation of various pretest probability scores, and relevant prerequisite workup. Results: Out of the total 100 ILD patients, 44 were male (44%) and 56 were female (56%). SDB was present in 57 (57%) patients. Of these, 29 (29%) were found to have only nocturnal oxygen desaturation (NOD), while 28 (28%) had OSA. The 28 cases of OSA were distributed as 15 mild OSA (53.57%), 10 moderate OSA (35.71%), and 3 severe OSA (10.71%). The patients were divided into the following four groups: total study Group (A), patients with OSA (Group B), patients with NOD without OSA (Group C), and no SDB (Group D). The mean forced vital capacity values predicted in the four groups were 53.67%, 50%, 45.56%, and 57.87%, respectively. The mean body mass index in the four groups was 24.56, 27, 26.98, and 24.89 kg/m2, respectively. The mean 6-min walk distance in the four groups was 280.7, 250, 256.65, and 311.4 m, respectively. The mean partial pressure of oxygen in the four groups was 65.65, 60, 62.10, and 75.66 mmHg, respectively. The mean apnea–hypopnea index in the study group was 2.98/h, 8.6/h with mild OSA, 21.69/h with moderate OSA, 48.78/h with severe OSA, 3.89/h in patients having NOD without OSA, and 2.54/h in patients with no SDB. Conclusion: SDB in ILD is associated with a significant impact on the cardinal determinants of functional capacity, lung function, and quality of life.

Man made plastics have Polyurethane and Polyethylene polymers. It cannot be easily degraded by micro organisms as it don’t recognize as food. When burned plastics release cancer causing carcinogenic chemicals that are harmful to people and the environment. One eco friendly alternative the current commercial plastic is “Bio plastics”. Bio plastics are biodegradable plastics that have components derived directly from renewable raw plant materials. Seven type of bioplastics were made using various combinations of renewable raw materials and plasticizers. In this project, Cassava starch is used as a main biopolymer for the production of bio degradable bags.

Water is indispensable for all the life forms on earth. But the comprehensive quality of water such as free from chemical pollutants and microbial contaminants is vital. The present circumstance of industrialization and urbanization has taken a toll on environment, polluting the soil, air, and water. Pollution as well as global warming has exhibited detrimental effects on our natural resources of which water becomes the inexplicable. Failing monsoon rains due to climatic changes, population explosion, and depletion of natural water resources such as groundwater, ponds, and lakes as well as intentional man-made pollution of rivers has lead to water scarcity. Even the scarcely available water is loaded by contaminants and pollutants which include mutagens, carcinogens, and pathogenic microbes affecting all the life forms affecting the ecological balance. Considering the above mentioned problem criteria, a part of the present work has been designed to analyze the quality of ground water around the industrial premises. For this objective, we have collected ground water samples from various locations in and around Perundurai area in Erode District focusing on quite far away from Industrial premises considering the concepts of leaching. Basic physio-chemical properties of the collected ground water samples have been analyzed by APHA standards. Comparative data analysis for the samples based on the analyzed parameters has been made. Highest possibility of water quality issues which affects the day to day consumption of ground water for the domestic needs of the people has been emphasized.

Solid wastes are the inevitable production of the operations of various industries like construction Industry, Machines Manufacturing Units, Textile industry etc. In India the construction industry generates large amounts of waste, which can be composed of different origin materials, most of them classified as non-hazardous. Construction and Demolition waste (CDW) constitutes a major portion of total solid waste production in the world and most of it is used in landfills. Dumping of these construction and demolition waste in landfill causes contamination of soil, water and air from toxic substances. Research by structural concrete engineers has clearly suggested the possibility of appropriately treating and reusing such waste as aggregates in new concrete. The aim of this paper is to explore the separation process of CDW and further use of recycled aggregates from construction and demolition waste (CDW) in concrete mixes. A review of most recent research and legislation applied in India is developed regarding the production of concrete by using these recycled aggregates.

Septic system plays a major role in sanitary disposal activities. In developing country it is very essential for proper disposal of wastes for providing clean environment. In our country the government has adopted scheme, “CLEAN INDIA”,. For achieving this aim, the septic system is necessary to construct in each and every residential, commercial buildings and public areas. Septic tank systems are a type of simple onsite sewage facility.But groundwater pollution may occur and can create a problem. Usage of mobile septic tank can be helpful to avoid such problem. In this present investigation an idea has been arrived and the septic tank constructed by the way which have been tested for 10 days for decomposition using microbes. The term ‘septic’ refer to the anaerobic bacteria environment that develops in the tanks which decomposes or mineralizes the water discharged into the tank. The rate of accumulation of sludge is faster than rate of decomposition. So in our project we have used microbes for decomposition.In urban areas, construction of septic tanks are easier. But in rock exposures, the septic tanks cannot be constructed easily. In this paper, the problem is solved by giving an idea as solution by providing a “MOBILE SEPTIC TANK”. This will be helpful and eliminate such problems.

Lay summary The current pandemic of COVID-19 has affected all the countries globally. However, the adverse impact of the pandemic is more seen in the low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). Although there is evidence on the adverse impact of the SARS-CoV-2 on the health of mothers and neonates, the evidence is mainly from high-income countries. For reducing the mortality and morbidity due to COVID-19 in LMICs, there is a need to generate evidence from the LMICs. The present study is a part of the National Registry of pregnant women with COVID-19 in India (PregCovid registry). Our study demonstrates a higher risk of adverse outcomes such as neonatal sepsis and death in the SARS-CoV-2 infected as compared to the non-infected neonates. The study also showed the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection in 6.3% of neonates born to mothers with COVID-19. Introduction We describe the clinical characteristics, management, and short-term outcomes of SARS-CoV-2 neonates born to mothers with COVID-19 in a tertiary care hospital in Mumbai, India. Methods The study is a retrospective analysis of 524 neonates born to mothers with COVID-19 admitted from 14th April 2020 to 31st July 2020. Results SARS-CoV-2 infection was detected in 6.3% of the newborns of the mothers with COVID-19. No significant differences were observed between maturity at gestation, birth weight and sex of SARS-CoV-2 infected and non-infected newborns. The risk of sepsis was 4.09 (95% CI,1.28-13.00) fold higher in the neonates with SARS-CoV-2 as compared to the non-infected group (p = 0.031). Poor feeding was significantly more common among SARS-CoV-2 infected neonates (12.1%) as compared to the non-infected neonates (2.7%) (p = 0.017). There was a total of 13 neonatal deaths, of which 3 deaths occurred in SARS-CoV-2 infected neonates (9%) while 10 (3%) in the SAR-CoV-2 negative group. The risk of neonatal death was higher in SARS-CoV-2 infected newborns (OR 4.8; 95% CI 1.25-18.36). Conclusion Neonatal SARS-CoV-2 infection is observed in almost 6% of neonates born to mothers with perinatal COVID-19. There is a higher risk of adverse outcomes such as neonatal sepsis and death in the SARS-CoV-2 infected as compared to the non-infected neonates.

Background: Acute phase insulin secretion is disturbed in individuals with prediabetes. We have previously shown a significant risk reduction in 4,417 prediabetes individuals through Yoga. The present study explores yoga’s mechanism of action. Method: This randomized control trial included 42 (20 yoga;22 walkings;5 days/ week, 3Months) prediabetes (fasting glucose of 100 to 125 mg/dl) adults between 23 to 50 years. Serum Insulin and C peptide were assessed at 0, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 30,60and 90th minutes after 75grams of oral glucose. Pre-post assessments included fasting Glucose, HOMA%B(derived), GLP-1, free Triiodothyronine, perceived stress, and Heart rate variability. Results: There was a significant increase in the 10th minute (acute phase) Insulin and c-peptide levels in the yoga as compared to the control group. Improvement in GLP-1 and HOMA%B was significantly better in yoga than walking group. Yoga group also showed positive change in perceived stress and HRV. Simple linear regression of post data using acute phase Insulin as the dependent variable indicated a significant association between all measures(R2 = 0.806; p = Conclusion: The shift to normoglycemia, due to an increase in acute phase insulin release, was associated with improved autonomic balance and reduced stress after yoga. ObjectiveTo understand the outcome of hospitalised patients from Mumbai City, which had the highest number of COVID-19 cases in India.DesignObservational study with follow-up.SettingData extraction from medical records of patients with COVID-19 admitted to Nair Hospital & TN Medical College, Mumbai, India.Participants689 patients with COVID-19 were admitted in the hospital from 26 March 2020 to 11 May 2020.Primary and secondary outcome measuresIn-hospital mortality; joint effect of comorbidity and age on the risk of dying.ResultsA total of 689 patients (median age 44 years) admitted with RT-PCR-confirmed COVID-19 were included in the study. Of these, 77.36% of patients were discharged alive while 22.64% died. 11.61% required some kind of oxygen support while 2.8% of patients required intensive care unit admissions. Older age (HR 2.88, 95% CI 2.09 to 3.98), presence of comorbidities (HR 2.56, 95% CI 1.84 to 3.55), history of hypertension (HR 3.19, 95% CI 1.67 to 6.08), and presence of symptoms at the time of admission (HR 3.21, 95% CI 1.41 to 7.26) were associated with increased risk of in-hospital mortality. Treatment with a combination of azithromycin with hydroxychloroquine, antiviral or steroid compared with no treatment did not alter the disease course and in-hospital mortality. The combined effect of old age and presence of comorbid conditions was more pronounced in women than men.ConclusionsIn-hospital patients were younger, less symptomatic with lesser need of ventilators and oxygen support as compared with many western countries.Trial registrationNot applicable (observational study, not a clinical trial).

Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, clinically presenting with common symptoms of fever, dry cough, and breathlessness within 14 days of exposure. Its severity ranges from mild to severe, latter manifesting into severe acute respiratory syndrome. As a part of multidisciplinary team, physiotherapy along with medical management was administered to patients with COVID-19 in an acute care setup. This retrospective study aims to explore various patient characteristics and will aid in identifying the impairments associated with the disease, giving a direction to the physiotherapy community in planning future management strategy to improve quality of life. Patients and methods: The present study is a unicentric study wherein prospective analysis of retrospective data of patients referred for physiotherapy from May 13 to July 31, 2020, was performed. (i) Characteristics of patients, (ii) associated comorbidities, (iii) hospital course since the time of admission to discharge, (iv) mode of oxygen delivery, (v) pre- and post-physiotherapy treatment values of oxygen saturation and heart rate, and (vi) physiotherapy treatment were recorded. The archived data were analyzed using the commercially available SPSS software version 24. Wilcoxon's matched pair test was used to compare pre- and post-treatment oxygen saturation and heart rate, and McNemar's test was used to compare mode of oxygen delivery and pre- and post-physiotherapy treatment. Results: Descriptive analysis of data showed a better outcome in terms of grade of dyspnea and rate of discharge on day 14 of physiotherapy treatment. Hence, a comparative analysis of day 1 and day 14 was performed for mode of oxygen delivery, oxygen saturation, and heart rate. A statistically significant improvement was observed in the heart rate (p = 0.001) and oxygen delivery (p = 0.000). However, no significant difference in the level of oxygen saturation was found (p = 0.6433). Conclusion: Physiotherapy treatment in conjunction with medical treatment can be effectively administered in patients with COVID-19 in acute care setup taking into consideration the health status and the hemodynamic stability of the patients. It emphasizes the role of physiotherapy in the alleviation of symptoms, facilitating early weaning and recovery enabling early discharge from the hospital. BACKGROUND A respiratory intensive care unit (RICU) is a designated area specially designed for management of patients with acute respiratory conditions with an essential endeavour of meticulous cardiorespiratory monitoring and holistic management of acute respiratory conditions. Availability of ventilation thorough the non-invasive mode (NIV) has revolutionised therapy in chronic respiratory diseases. METHODS We analysed the data of 50 patients over two-months’ duration. The mean duration of stay and treatment outcomes were analysed. The qualitative data was analysed using percentages and mean. Chi-Square test was used for statistical analysis. RESULTS Study sample was of 50 patients out of which 26 were men and 24 were women. The indications for hospitalisation were classified as per aetiology as COPD- 29 (58%), ILD- 6 (12%), parenchymal diseases- 5 (10%), pleural diseases- 4 (8%), malignancy- 3 (6%), others- 3 (6%). The patients were further classified into; 21 (42%) with type I respiratory failure and 29 (58%) with type II respiratory failure. Of the total 50; one-third (18) required only oxygen therapy and two-third (32) mechanical ventilation (25 NIV and 7 IMV). The mode of ventilation impacted outcomes significantly with oxygen therapy and NIV having very good outcomes (Chi Square test; p-value is 0.000838). CONCLUSIONS RICU is the need of the hour to manage patients with critical respiratory illnesses.

To design a large-scale pyrolysis reactor, a complete particle level model was developed using pyrolysis of babul wood. Babul wood, the abundant woody biomass in India, is a highly reactive and promising feedstock for pyrolysis and considered as a case study in the present work. Thermo-balance was used to devolatilize the wood particles at different heating rates from (10 to 20 K min−1), thereby estimate the intrinsic kinetics parameters. Non-condensable gases released from wood pyrolysis were also modeled and derived the kinetic parameters. Large wood single particle dimension of L/D ∼3.5 was chosen to investigate the pyrolysis reaction and developed a particle level model which involves both heat transfer and chemical reactions phenomena. Particle model developed was simulated with intrinsic kinetic parameters generated from kinetic models. Two-step consecutive model with different reaction orders (m = 1, n = 2) was found to explain the experimental data very well. Additionally, optimum conditions for maximum product yields and detail characterization of bio-oil was carried out using different analytical techniques.

Immune cell dysregulation and lymphopenia characterize COVID-19 pathology in moderate to severe disease. While underlying inflammatory factors have been extensively studied, homeostatic and mucosal migratory signatures remain largely unexplored as causative factors. In this study we evaluated the association of circulating IL-6, soluble mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule (sMAdCAM) and IL-15 with cellular dysfunction characterizing mild and hypoxemic stages of COVID-19. A cohort of SARS-CoV-2 infected individuals (n=125) at various stages of disease progression together with healthy controls (n=16) were recruited from COVID Care Centres (CCCs) across Mumbai, India. Multiparametric flow cytometry was used to perform in-depth immune subset characterization and to measure plasma IL-6 levels. sMAdCAM, IL-15 levels were quantified using ELISA. Distinct depletion profiles, with relative sparing of CD8 effector memory and CD4+ regulatory T cells was observed in hypoxemic disease within the lymphocyte compartment. An apparent increase in the frequency of intermediate monocytes characterized both mild as well as hypoxemic disease. IL-6 levels inversely correlated with those of sMAdCAM and both markers showed converse associations with observed lympho-depletion suggesting opposing roles in pathogenesis. Interestingly, IL-15, a key cytokine involved in lymphocyte activation and homeostasis, was detected in symptomatic individuals but not in healthy controls or asymptomatic cases. Further, negative association of plasma IL-15 with depleted T, B and NK subsets suggested a compensatory production of this cytokine in response to the profound lymphopenia. Finally, higher levels of plasma IL-15 and IL-6, but not sMAdCAM, were associated with longer duration of hospitalization.

The aim of the current research is to assess the anticancer activity of the proteins identified from the crude protein extract derived from Hermetiaillucens larvae by computational methods. Bioinformatics methods were used to identify the protein sequence and virtual screening for the prediction of protein structure, their physico-chemical characteristics and functional aspects, that aid in exploring the anti-cancer interaction that is inclined to inhibit the oncoprotein activity. Due to the pathological process transpired by HPV, an array of genetic alterations, including the overexpression of oncoproteins or the inactivation of tumor suppressor proteins like TP53, BCL2, MDM2, ARF and BAX occur. The altered protein signaling pathways convulse to cervical cancer. In this research, we identified proteins, from the crude extract derived from Hermetiaillucens by LC-MS method. Further Computational screening of the selected proteins were employed to assess the functional units which has anticancer activity. We predicted four proteins Metallothionine, Defensin like precursor 1 protein, Heat shock protein 90 and NADH dehydrogenase and eluted the protein sequence from NCBI GenBank database. These sequences were used to predict physicochemical properties and protein structure prediction. Pharmacophore analysis of the peptide sequences as potential targets for cancer treatment was evaluated. Molecular docking of peptide sequences with target protein structure was carried out. To screen the best active potential molecule for cancer treatment the Molecular dynamics of docked protein-peptide structures were administered. The molecular docking of the peptides with onco-proteins has been predicted and virtually screened based on RMSD values. The resultant protein sequence was evaluated further by amino acid sequencing, extensive scrutiny of the proteins, advanced computational imaging, molecular docking examination and assessed the results for clinical interpretation. To summate, bioinformatics assessment enabled us to identify four key proteins derived from Hermetiaillucens larvae that have strong inhibitory function against proteins that cause cervical cancer.
