Photocatalysts have been effectively applied for water treatment. Narrow bandgap energy semiconductors show good photocatalytic performance at visible light. However, high recombination rate of the photogenerated electrons and holes leads to their low photocatalytic activity. Moreover, the conduction and valence band potentials of these materials are not suitable for the redox reactions with water and oxygen to generate HO• and •O2⁻ radicals, respectively. Therefore, the development of new photocatalyst systems to overcome these disadvantages is necessary. This study investigated the photocatalytic activity of FeWO4/rGO/g-C3N4 Z-scheme photocatalytic system via the degradation of Rhodamine B in water. The photocatalyst was synthesized by simple hydrothermal method and characterized by X-ray diffraction method (XRD), fluorescence spectroscopy (PL) and diffuse reflectance spectra (UV-vis). The results showed that after 150 minutes illumination, the Rhodamine B decomposition efficiency on FeWO4/g-C3N4 and FeWO4/rGO/g-C3N4 were 93.07 and 99.21%, respectively. These values were significantly higher than that of g-C3N4 under the same catalytic concentration of 0.1g/L. In the FeWO4/rGO/g-C3N4 heterostructure, rGO acted as electron mediator and transporter between two semiconductors, resulting in a lower recombination rate of photogenerated charges. As the results, the photocatalytic performance was enhanced.

Lưới điện microgrid đang là xu hướng phát triển trên thế giới cũng như ở Việt Nam trong thời gian gần đây. Lưới điện microgrid có ưu điểm là có khả năng tích hợp các nguồn năng lượng tái tạo, thân thiện với môi trường, và đặc biệt phù hợp ở những khu vực đảo xa, nơi mà phương án cấp điện từ đất liền là không khả thi. Tuy nhiên, việc lập kế hoạch và vận hành lưới điện microgrid nhằm tối ưu hóa về chi phí sản xuất đang là nhiệm vụ đầy thách thức. Trong bài báo này, lưới điện microgrid huyện đảo Bạch Long Vỹ được sử dụng làm mô hình nghiên cứu. Ba kịch bản cấp điện cho lưới điện huyện đảo Bạch Long Vỹ được so sánh và đánh giá. Phần mềm Homer được sử dụng để đánh giá các chỉ tiêu kinh tế của các phương án. Kết quả đánh giá cho thấy phương án tích hợp thêm nguồn năng lượng hydrogen vào hệ thống đang hiện hành trên đảo là phương án tối ưu về giá thành sản xuất. Bên cạnh đó, phương án này còn giảm thiểu được lượng khí phát thải từ các máy phát điện diesel.

El tema de la justicia social es un tema fundamental de cada época y tiene un gran significado de actualidad porque se plantea junto a la existencia humana, asociada a los sueños y aspiraciones hacia una vida bonita y feliz. Después de todo, el objetivo del crecimiento económico es servir a las personas, el sujeto del desarrollo, de manera justa y progresiva. Porque "los humanos, al dominar en última instancia su existencia social, también están dominando la naturaleza, dominándose a sí mismos y convirtiéndose en hombres libres" (Marx & Engels, 1995, p. 333). Se confirma además en el Informe sobre Desarrollo Humano de las Naciones Unidas (1995) cuando dice: “¿qué significa desarrollo sin tener en cuenta la vida humana?”. Después de todo, el propósito del desarrollo económico es sólo un medio para servir al desarrollo humano. Son las personas las que crean las condiciones, aprovechan las oportunidades y las convierten en una fuerza impulsora para alcanzar sus objetivos de desarrollo, lo que a su vez promoverá el desarrollo socioeconómico. En el proceso de integración internacional, Vietnam ha implementado activamente políticas para lograr la justicia social y ha logrado ciertos resultados, contribuyendo a mejorar el nivel de vida de todas las personas. Hay ciertas limitaciones que deben abordarse para lograr la justicia social en toda la vida social. El artículo analiza los puntos de vista y las prácticas de implementación de la justicia social en Vietnam, proponiendo así soluciones para implementar efectivamente la justicia social en Vietnam hoy.

Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels in whole blood samples are commonly used to diagnose diabetes and monitor the effectiveness of glycemic control. However, there have not been many studies evaluating changes in HbA1c concentration under different storage conditions and analytical methods. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stability of %HbA1c stored at different temperature conditions using immunoassays in order to improve the quality of HbA1c test. Whole blood samples collected from 10 healthy volunteers were anticoagulated with K2 EDTA and stored at the following temperatures: 20-25°C, 2-8°C, and -20°C. %HbA1c in human whole blood samples at each time point was determined simultaneously on Standard F Analyzer (%HbA1c-S) with reagent kit based on a reflectometry and immunoassay technology, and Erba XL640 system (%HbA1c-E) used immunoturbidimetric method, respectively. %HbA1c was assessed as stable when the difference in HbA1c level at the later time point was not statistically significant (p >0.05) compared with baseline (T0). Results showed that a positive correlation between %HbA1c-S and %HbA1c-E at T0 (r=0.9996) was observed at room temperature. %HbA1c-S was stabilized for 24 hours at 20-25°C, for 2 days at 2-8°C and for more than 1 month at -20°C. %HbA1c-E was stable for 12 hours at 20-25°C; less than 1 day at 2-8°C, and less than 1 month at -20°C. In conclusion, human whole blood samples for HbA1c determination can be stored for up to 1 month at -20°C.

PurposeThis research aims to determine the impact of the CEO's risk-taking tendencies and the transformational leadership style on the use of the management accounting system information, as well as the mediating impact of product creativeness and organizational citizenship behavior in this context. It also provides empirical evidence from Vietnamese enterprises.Design/methodology/approachThe current research was conducted using quantitative methods. It was conducted during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam. The study population is represented by all of the Vietnamese enterprises listed on stock exchanges. Therefore, an online email questionnaire was used for data collection. Specifically, 670 emails were sent to CEOs and 146 complete responses were collected (21.79% rate).FindingsBy using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), the study results show that the CEO's risk-taking tendencies and transformational leadership style have a significant positive effect on the use of the management accounting system information. Additionally, product creativeness mediates the relationship between the CEO's risk-taking tendency, and the use of the management accounting system information. Also, organizational citizenship behavior mediates the relationship between transformational leadership style and the use of the management accounting system information.Research limitations/implicationsDespite attempts to overcome by GDP contribution ratio, convenience sampling tends to cause common method bias. Furthermore, small sample sizes can lead to heterogeneity and unstable estimates of the parameter. Causality issues may also arise because the model has no control variables. Therefore, later studies should take the necessary additional steps when sampling to stay consistent with the study population, possibly conducting surveys in several batches to determine the correlation between changes in variables, and allowing the ability to discover and add any necessary control variables.Originality/valueThis research acts as a bridge between management and management accounting, confirming the importance of this combination when efficiently using the management accounting system.

Background: Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopic untrasound is the major technique for diagnosis of GI disease and treatment. Various sedation and analgesia regimens such as midazolam, fentanyl, and propofol can be used during GI endoscopy. The purpose of the study was to compare propofol alone and propofol combine with midazolam or fentanyl in moderate sedation for GI endoscopy. Objectives: To observe the efficiency comparison between propofol alone and propofol/fentanyl or propofol/midazolam on sedation during upper gastrointestinal endoscopic ultrasound. Methods: In a prospective, randomized clinical study, 90 patients were assigned to group 1 (n = 30; 1 mg/kg IV propofol) group 2 (n = 30; 1 mg IV midazolam intravenous followed 1 mg/kg IV propofol) or group 3 (n = 30; 50 μg fentanyl followed 1 mg/kg IV propofol). Each patient was administered 1 mg/kg propofol for induction. All of the patients were administered an additional dose of IV propofol infusion (5 mg/kg/h). This study was performed in Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, between January 2020 - 2021. Total propofol consumption, time to achieve, physician and patient satisfaction scores, and instances of side effects, such as bradycardia and hypotension were recorded. Postprocedural records included recovery time, postoperative adverse events (nausea, vomiting, dizziness, recall, and pain) and satisfaction. Results: The average propofol consumption was 283.8 ± 113 mg in Group 1 and 230 ± 76.3 mg in Group 2 and 231.8 ± 76.3 mg in Group 3 (p < 0.05). The incidence of moving motor or verbal) was lower in Group 3 (p < 0.05). The physician satisfaction was higher significantly in Group 3 (p < 0.05). Total propofol consumption was higher in group 1 significantly. Time to onset of sedation was significantly higher in group 1 The physician satisfaction was higher significantly in Group 3. Overall, the other results were similar in 3 groups. Conclusion: Both propofol/fentanyl and propofol/midazolam combinations provided appropriate hypnosis and analgesia during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. However, propofol consumption was significantly lower and greater endoscopist satisfaction in group using the propofol/ fentanyl combination. Background: There have been many studies in using intrathecal morphine order to reduce pain after obstetrics and gynecological surgeries, abdominal surgeries and orthopedic surgeries. These studies have shown that intrathecal morphine is very effective for pain relief after surgery. However, intrathecal morphine also has side effects especially in obstetric and gynecological surgeries such as pruritus, postoperative nausea and vomiting, and delayed respiratory depression. Although postoperative analgesia with intrathecal morphine has been widely used in obstetrics and gynecological surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, there have been very few studies on postoperative pain relief with intrathecal morphine for colorectal surgery. Laparoscopic colorectal surgery requires multimodal analgesia, so using intrathecal morphine to reduce postoperative pain in this surgery is essential in clinical practice. Therefore, studying the effectiveness of intrathecal morphine in this surgery is necessary, so we conducted this study. Objectives: To assess the effectiveness of analgesic and side effects of intrathecal morphine after laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional study, including 63 patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery with intrathecal morphine before general anesthesia. The degree of analgesia was assessed based on VAS. The postoperative side effects observed were postoperative nausea and vomiting, respiratory depression, and pruritus. Results: The analgesic effect at rest and on slight movement was 95.2%, and 88.9% respectively with VAS ≤ 3. The side effects were postoperative nausea and vomiting (6.3%), and pruritus (1.6%), both postoperative nausea and vomiting and pruritus (3.2%). In conclusion, 300µg intrathecal morphine showed a safe and positive analgesic effect for laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery.

Introduction: Estimating the probability of obstructive coronary artery disease in patients undergoing noncoronary cardiac surgery should be considered compulsory. Our study sought to evaluate the prevalence of obstructive coronary artery disease in patients undergoing valvular heart surgery and to utilize predictive methodology of concomitant obstructive coronary artery disease in these patients. Methods: The retrospective study cohort was derived from a tertiary care hospital registry of patients undergoing coronary angiogram prior to valvular heart operations. Decision tree, logistic regression, and support vector machine models were built to predict the probability of the appearance of obstructive coronary artery disease. A total of 367 patients from 2016 to 2019 were analyzed. Results: The mean age of the study population was 57.3±9.3 years, 45.2% of the patients were male. Of 367 patients, 76 (21%) patients had obstructive coronary artery disease. The decision tree, logistics regression, and support vector machine models had an area under the curve of 72% (95% CI: 62% - 81%), 67% (95% CI: 56% - 77%), and 78% (95% CI: 68% - 87%), respectively. Poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors are approved in the USA for the treatment of patients with BRCA1 or BRCA2 (BRCA) mutated (BRCA+) metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). BRCA reversion mutations are a known mechanism of acquired resistance to PARP inhibitors in multiple cancer types, although their impact and prevalence in mCRPC remain unknown.To examine the prevalence of BRCA reversion mutations in the plasma of patients with BRCA+ mCRPC after progression on rucaparib.Men with BRCA+ mCRPC enrolled in Trial of Rucaparib in Prostate Indications 2 (TRITON2) were treated with rucaparib after progressing on one to two lines of androgen receptor-directed and one taxane-based therapy. Cell-free DNA from the plasma of 100 patients, collected at the end of treatment after confirmed progression before May 5, 2020, was queried for BRCA reversion mutations using next-generation sequencing (NGS).The association of clinical efficacy and postprogression genomics was measured in 100 patients with BRCA+ mCRPC treated with rucaparib.No baseline BRCA reversion mutations were observed in 100 BRCA+ patients. NGS identified somatic BRCA reversion mutations in 39% (39/100) of patients after progression. Reversion rates were similar for BRCA2 and BRCA1, irrespective of germline or somatic status, but higher in samples with a high tumor DNA fraction. Most patients with reversions (74%, 29/39) had two or more reversion mutations occurring subclonally at lower allele frequencies than the original BRCA mutations. The incidence of BRCA reversion mutations increased with the duration of rucaparib treatment. The frequency of reversion mutations was higher in patients with an objective (58%) or a prostate-specific antigen (69%) response compared with those without either (39% and 29%, respectively).These findings suggest that BRCA reversion mutations are a significant mechanism of acquired resistance to rucaparib in patients with BRCA+ mCRPC, with evidence of subclonal convergence promoting systemic resistance.Men with BRCA mutated metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer enrolled in TRITON2 were treated with rucaparib after progressing on one to two lines of androgen receptor-directed and one taxane-based therapy. Many high-performance DTA deep learning models have been proposed, but they are mostly black-box and thus lack human interpretability. Explainable AI (XAI) can make DTA models more trustworthy, and allows to distill biological knowledge from the models. Counterfactual explanation is one popular approach to explaining the behaviour of a deep neural network, which works by systematically answering the question "How would the model output change if the inputs were changed in this way?". We propose a multi-agent reinforcement learning framework, Multi-Agent Counterfactual Drug-target binding Affinity (MACDA), to generate counterfactual explanations for the drug-protein complex. Our proposed framework provides human-interpretable counterfactual instances while optimizing both the input drug and target for counterfactual generation at the same time. We benchmark the proposed MACDA framework using the Davis and PDBBind dataset and find that our framework produces more parsimonious explanations with no loss in explanation validity, as measured by encoding similarity. We then present a case study involving ABL1 and Nilotinib to demonstrate how MACDA can explain the behaviour of a DTA model in the underlying substructure interaction between inputs in its prediction, revealing mechanisms that align with prior domain knowledge.

Background: Tumors of parotid gland are common of maxillofacial pathology. Parotid gland tumors show a high morphological heterogeneity and presents with diagnostic and surgical challenges. Therefore, investigation of clinical, para-clinical features of parotid gland tumor and the morphology of the facial nerve is very important for surgery and preventing the facial palsy. Objective: Evaluate clinical, para-clinical features and the morphology of the facial nerve in parotid salivary tumor patients indicated for surgery. Materials and Methods: 31 patients with parotid gland tumor who were examined at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy from May 2020 to March 2021 were recorded about clinical, paraclinical and the facial nerve branching patterns in surgical treatments of parotid tumors. Results: Male cases were in the majority (58.1%), the mean age of patients was 51.5 ± 12.5. Slow progressively swelling was the common presenting complaint. Majority of the tumor size in CT scanner were between 2 and 4 cm (61.3%) and in the superficial lobe (80.0%).All are benign tumors and Whartin tumor is the most common type (38.7%). In all 27 patients were exposed the VII nerve, the facial nerve consisted of one trunk separated into two divisions. In 12 patients with identified type of facial nerve branching, type IV (41.7%) were the most common type. Conclusion: Clinical and para-clinical were valuable for diagnosis. Facial nerve variations assessement can prevent the consequences of facial nerve injury after parotid surgery. Key words: parotid gland tumor, parotidectomy, facial nerve morphology.

Background: Spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension is one of the most complications which can cause many severe maternal and fetal complications. Therefore, the prevention and treatment of spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension in pregnant women undergoing cesarean delivery play an important role. The use of vasopressors is the most effective method of hypotensive prophylaxis and phenylephrine is currently the first-line vasopressor of choice to prevent this complication. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of two-dose phenylephrine for prevention of spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension during cesarean delivery. Materials and methods: In a randommized controlled clinical trial, 150 pregnants undregoing cesarean delivery with spinal anesthesia were randomly divided into three groups: Group I: as a control group without phenylephrine prophylaxis (n = 50), Group II: 50µg intravenously bolus phenylephrine (n = 50), and Group III: 75µg intravenously bolus phenylephrine (n = 50) immediately after induction of spinal anesthesia. Hypotension, defined decreasing systolic blood pressure > 20% of baseline. The incidence of hypotension, levels of hypotension, maternal side effects and neonatal APGAR scores at 1 and 5 minutes. Results: The incidence of hypotension was 44%, the incidence of re-hypotension was 16%. Group III: the incidence of hypotension was 28%, the incidence of re-hypotension was 2%. The neonatal APGAR scores of the two groups at both 1 minute and 5 minutes was the same (p > 0.05), all cases had APGAR > 7. Conclusion: Phenylephrine intravenous bolus at doses of 50 µg and 75 µg are both effective for the prevention spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension for cesarean section. However, the 75 µg phenylephrine dose was more effective than the 50 µg dose because of lower rates of hypotension and recurrent hypotension (28% and 2% vs 44% and 16%, p < 0.05). In addition, both groups of prophylactic phenylephrine didn’t cause detrimental adverses for parturients and their babies. Key words: Hypotensive prophylaxis, cesarean section, phenylephrin.

Domestic violence has affected many children, including those who are direct victims and who live in abusive households. Through the survey of 150 secondary school children aged 10-15 in An Vu, Quynh Phu, Thai Binh, there are 56\150 children, accounting for 37.3%, have been affected, especially problems about physical health, psycho-emotional health, learning and social behavior. Results have also shown that domestic violence has the greatest impact on learning with X= 3.89 (girls) and X= 4.43 (boys). The results of this research have contributed to supporting social workers, teachers, families and schools in coming up with solutions which reduce the impact of domestic violence on children, providing them a better future.

Sign language recognition is one of the fundamental ways to assist deaf people to communicate with others. An accurate vision-based sign language recognition system using deep learning is a fundamental goal for many researchers. Deep convolutional neural networks have been extensively considered in the last few years, and a slew of architectures have been proposed. Recently, Vision Transformer and other Transformers have shown apparent advantages in object recognition compared to traditional computer vision models such as Faster R-CNN, YOLO, SSD, and other deep learning models. In this paper, we propose a Vision Transformer-based sign language recognition method called DETR (Detection Transformer), aiming to improve the current state-of-the-art sign language recognition accuracy. The DETR method proposed in this paper is able to recognize sign language from digital videos with a high accuracy using a new deep learning model ResNet152 + FPN (i.e., Feature Pyramid Network), which is based on Detection Transformer. Our experiments show that the method has excellent potential for improving sign language recognition accuracy. For instance, our newly proposed net ResNet152 + FPN is able to enhance the detection accuracy up to 1.70% on the test dataset of sign language compared to the standard Detection Transformer models. Besides, an overall accuracy 96.45% was attained by using the proposed method.

Five sesquiterpenoids including 2α-hydroxyoplopanone (1), oplopanone (2), 1β,4β,6α-trihydroxy-eudesmane (3), 1β,4β,7α-trihydroxy-eudesmane (4) and bullatantriol (5) were isolated from Homalomena pendula. The structure of the previously reported compound, 5,7-diepi-2α-hydroxyoplopanone (1a), has been revised to 1 by the spectroscopic evidences (1D-/2D-NMR, IR, UV and HRESIMS) and by comparison between experimental and theoretical NMR data using DP4+ protocol. Furthermore, the absolute configuration of 1 was unambiguously assigned by ECD experiments. Compounds 2 and 4 displayed a potent ability to stimulate osteogenic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells at 4 µg/mL (by 123.74% and 131.07%, respectively) and 20 µg/mL (by 112.45% and 126.41%, respectively) whilst 3 and 5 did not show any activities. At 20 µg/mL, 4 and 5 significantly promoted the mineralization of MC3T3-E1 cells with values of 112.95% and 116.37%, respectively, whereas 2 and 3 were inactive. The results indicated that 4 could be an excellent component for anti-osteoporosis studies from the rhizomes of H. pendula.

Bolted joints are often used in thin parts such as plates or shell-like components in lightweight structures, e.g. air- and spacecraft. This is also motivated by an inexpensive manufacturing and the ability to disassemble. To make these joints, holes need to be drilled and stress concentrations arise. Leading to the instantaneous destruction of the connection, attention should be drawn to fatal tension failure. The efficient and precise prediction of the corresponding failure stresses using analytical methods is the focus of this paper. Usually, rows of bolts are placed. Then, the load is partly introduced into one bolt while the rest stays in the plate. This setting is also referred to as bolted joint under combined bearing-bypass load, which shall be idealised as a linear 2D plate problem. The corresponding characteristic stresses are discussed for orthotropic laminates showing good agreement to Finite Element values. Then, failure analysis is conducted using Finite Fracture Mechanics. This part is dedicated to quasi-isotropic laminates. The size effect and in this context the failure stress reduction with increasing bolt diameter is analysed. Primary physical effects due to finite dimensions and the ratio of bearing and total load are identified. The higher this ratio and the larger the bolt diameter, the lower the sustained failure stress. Failure envelopes for the graphical determination of the critical bearing and bypass stresses are provided. All in all, a comprehensive and efficient framework for tension failure assessment of composite bolted joints under bearing-bypass load interaction is developed.

PurposeThe outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the pervasiveness of food delivery apps (FDAs) and the increased scholars’ attention for the topic of FDA continuance usage intention. However, the limited understanding about possible segments of FDA users has hindered food retailers from providing FDAs with a personalized manner, which impairs the effectiveness of marketing strategies. Thus, this study aims to first explore key antecedents of users’ continuance intention toward FDAs and then segment and profile Taiwanese users based on the identified antecedents of FDA continuance intention and demographics.Design/methodology/approachAn online survey was implemented to collect responses from FDA users in Taiwan. With a response rate of 82.4%, the final sample of 326 respondents (average age = 28.3; female = 54.9%) was analyzed by using two techniques of structural equation modeling (SEM) and cluster analysis.FindingsThe results indicate six antecedents of users’ continuance usage intention towards FDAs, including information quality, system quality, information quality, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment and satisfaction. Additionally, three distinct clusters of FDA users are successfully identified, labeled as “value sensitive users”, “time-sensitive users” and “security sensitive users”.Originality/valueThis study is one of the pioneers that explores the possible segments in FDA market, which helps FDA providers and food retailers develop more focused and appropriate strategies to encourage users to continue using FDAs. Our findings contribute to building an optimized version of “FDA Tech” that becomes an omni-channel solution to serve the increased home-delivery needs in the new normal era.

The landmark 2021 Resolution on Oral Health by the 74th World Health Assembly has elevated the importance of oral health into the global health policy agenda. This has led to the development and adoption of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Strategy on Oral Health in 2022. It acknowledged the need to integrate oral health as part of universal health coverage (UHC), which is supported by national clinical leadership for oral health. Although Australia is a signatory WHO member state, it is yet to appoint a Commonwealth Chief Dental Officer to provide national clinical leadership. This commentary provides a background on the current issues on population oral health in Australia, an insight into the Australian oral healthcare system, and explores some of the challenges and learnings related to previous Commonwealth dental programs. This paper highlights why expertise in dental public health is required to steer national oral health policy that is focused on prevention and early intervention. A population oral health approach for UHC should be informed by evidence, prioritise and address oral health inequities, and be co-ordinated by national clinical leadership for oral health.

The SPOT-MAS assay “Screening for the Presence Of Tumor by Methylation And Size” detects the five most common cancers in Vietnam by evaluating circulating tumor DNA in the blood. Here, we validated its performance in a prospective multi-center clinical trial, K-DETEK. Our analysis of 2795 participants from 14 sites across Vietnam demonstrates its ability to detect cancers in asymptomatic individuals with a positive predictive value of 60%, with 83.3% accuracy in detecting tumor location. We present a case report to support further using SPOT-MAS as a complementary method to achieve early cancer detection and provide the opportunity for early treatment.

The class-D power amplifier (PA) is commonly implemented in CMOS, but its operating frequency is often limited due to the power loss of parasitic capacitances and the lower transition frequency of the the PMOS transistor. In this brief we demonstrate edge-combining frequency-multiplication embedded directly in the output-stage, allowing higher-frequency operation of the class-D PA, while maintaining similar performance to a lower-frequency PA. A 65 nm CMOS prototype achieves output power and system efficiency of 22.3 dBm and 30.2%, respectively. The prototype is tested with a D-BPSK signal and achieves an EVM of 2%-rms. Although the prototype was not embedded with amplitude modulation capability, it can be readily adapted for such operation using switched-capacitor PA techniques. Accepted version

Our actions arise from our beliefs about life: what we need and how best to achieve it. This article asks English language teachers to undertake an open-minded examination of some long-held beliefs in our profession and of the teaching practices that derive from those beliefs. Perhaps, based on this examination, teachers may wish to modify some beliefs and, correspondingly, change some practices. The particular beliefs examined in the article are as follows: people who begin second language learning at a younger age will be more successful than those who start at an older age; native speaker varieties of English (e.g., those spoken native-English speaking countries) should be valued over non-native varieties (e.g., those spoken in outer and expanding circle countries); the best outcome is for second language learners to use English only and stop using their mother tongue in and out of the classroom; in second language instruction, systematic, explicit and detailed instruction of grammar deserves top priority; vocabulary is considered less important than grammar; pragmatic competence need not be taught as students can acquire it on their own; learning depends on suffering, thus the famous saying “no pain, no gain”; teaching learning strategies deserves a great deal of attention; teaching materials should be difficult in order to move learning forward, and only lazy and uninformed teachers use cooperative learning.

This study found out the impacts of the apps Lyrics Training on learning and teaching Listening skills. A few papers still researched this app and its impact on how students learn the English Language. The qualitative research happened in two weeks with the content analysis method. The researcher collected all highlighted points from the available papers, affecting the learning process. Furthermore, Lyrics Training is a beautiful app because it helps students to achieve their learning goals via music and detect new beautiful songs to add to their playlists. Therefore, it is an ideal tool for teachers to consider applying in their Listening class. After the research process, the researcher will analyze its pros/cons. She also suggested effective ways of learning the Listening skill and teaching this skill with Lyrics Training in class.

This study examines social media use by academic libraries and consists of two parts. The first part surveys websites, and from the survey provides a picture of the current state of social media usage among university libraries in Australia. It also identifies Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube as the most widely used social media platforms, and the University of Melbourne Library (UML) as the library which has attracted the most social media followers. In the second part of the paper, a content analysis is carried out on the UML’s social media accounts. Findings demonstrate that the UML library uses Facebook more for sharing information and knowledge and showcasing facilities, places, and services; while the main purposes of Twitter are mainly for communicating and interacting, making news and announcements, and promoting library collections. ‘Communication and interaction’ is shown as the category of information most often posted on Twitter, the UML’s main social media platform. In this study, we synthesized radioexcitable luminescent polymer dots (P-dots) doped with heteroleptic tris-cyclometalated iridium complexes that emit red, green, and blue light.

Despite recent progress on trajectory planning of multiple robots and path planning of a single tethered robot, planning of multiple tethered robots to reach their individual targets without entanglements remains a challenging problem. In this paper, we present a complete approach to address this problem. Firstly, we propose a multi-robot tether-aware representation of homotopy, using which we can efficiently evaluate the feasibility and safety of a potential path in terms of (1) the cable length required to reach a target following the path, and (2) the risk of entanglements with the cables of other robots. Then, the proposed representation is applied in a decentralized and online planning framework that includes a graph-based kinodynamic trajectory finder and an optimization-based trajectory refinement, to generate entanglement-free, collision-free and dynamically feasible trajectories. The efficiency of the proposed homotopy representation is compared against existing single and multiple tethered robot planning approaches. Simulations with up to 8 UAVs show the effectiveness of the approach in entanglement prevention and its real-time capabilities. Lumbar radiculopathy is a major health problem, which often treated by neurosurgery or guided lumbar epidural steroids for pain relief. We used autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) as a novel pharmaceutical agent that has strongly emerged in recent years to treat patients of lumbar disc herniation. From that, we evaluated the efficacy of PRP via transforaminal route in treatment of radicular pain in patients with lumbar disc herniation.Twenty-five patients were enrolled and injected with 4 ml of autologous platelet rich plasma under fluoroscopic guidance via transforaminal epidural injection into area of affected nerve root. They were followed using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Modified Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Straight Leg Raising Test (SLRT) for clinical assessment.Patients who received transforaminal injections with autologous PRP showed statistically significant improvements on all three evaluation tools (VAS, ODI, SLRT). The improvements were sustained over twelve-month follow-up and there were no associated complications.Transforaminal injection with autologous PRP helps patients relieve chronic pains and be able return to work. Besides, autologous PRP can be considered as a good alternative to epidural steroids in management of lumbar disc herniation.

Wound healing is vital to maintain the physiological functions of the skin.

The integration of multiple varied functionalities into a single and compact EM-based device is greatly demanded in EM integration due to their miniaturized configurations. In this paper, a broadband and high-efficiency bifunctional metasurface employing vanadium dioxide (VO2) is proposed for the terahertz (THz) frequencies. Due to the dielectric-to-metal transition of VO2, the metasurface can be dynamically tuned from a reflecting surface to a broadband absorber under low-temperature conditions. When VO2 is in the dielectric phase, the designed metasurface shows excellent reflection (> 96 %) in a broad frequency range from 0.5 THz to 4.5 THz. Once VO2 is heated up and transited to its metal phase, the proposed metasurface structure efficiently absorbs normally incident EM waves in the frequency range of 1.29 THz to 3.26 THz with an average absorption of 94.3 %. Moreover, the high absorption characterization of the proposed metasurface is maintained with a wide incident angle and is polarization-insensitive due to its symmetric structure, which makes it suitable for THz applications.

This paper aims to identify determinants affecting individual customer satisfaction with the Mobile Banking service in Ho Chi Minh City. Our model was based on the Information System Success Model (ISS) of Delone and Mclean (2003) with the official sample size being 415. By applying the exploratory factor analysis EFA, confirmatory factor analysis CFA, structural equation modeling SEM, the authors have discovered that factors positively impacting customer satisfaction are organized from high to low following: system quality, information quality, trust, service quality. Moreover, the results also showed that trust was positively influenced by 3 factors of system quality, information quality, and service quality. From the above research results, the authors also showed some recommendations to help commercial banks increase customer satisfaction in Mobile Banking services.

COVID-19 caused significant mortality worldwide, including in Vietnam. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the treatment of COVID-19 patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). From January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022, the COVID-19 hospital admitted 395 critical patients, including 10 patients required veno-venous Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO). This descriptive study revealed relatively high survival rate of 60% (6/10 patients) with the median duration of ECMO was 11.5 days. The study group's SOFA and RESP scores were 6 and 4, respectively. Time from symptom onset to mechanical ventilation, duration of NIV and/or HFNC before mechanical ventilation, time from symptom onset to ECMO of the study patients were 9.5, 0 and 11.5 days, respectively. The most common complication in ECMO patients was nosocomial infection (70%), in addition to bleeding, embolism, or both at the same time. This preliminary research showed that ECMO was effective in the management of acute respiratory distress syndrome in patients with COVID-19.

Methodology for synthesizing of β- and δ-carboline via two steps reaction from 2,3-dibromopyridine and 3,4-dibromopyridine. The intermediate was prepared from the substrate with o-bromophenylboronic acid via site-selective Suzuki-Myaura reaction, then, the final products were obtained by double C-N coupling via the Ulmann reaction of the intermediate with the corresponding amine with copper catalyst.

From the CHCl3-soluble extract of Annona muricata L. (Annonaceae) leaves, one new 3-benzazepine-type alkaloid, anonazepine (1), and four known aporphine-type alkaloids, (+)-laurotetanine (2), (+)-norglaucine (3), (−)-xylopine (4), and lanuginosine (5), were isolated. Except for (−)-xylopine (4), these remaining known alkaloids were first reported in A. muricata. The structures of the isolated alkaloids were established by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and MS, as well as comparison with literature data. The new 3-benzazepine-type alkaloid existed in an inseparable mixture of two equilibrium conformers. Its absolute configuration was determined based on comparing their experimental and calculated ECD data. The anti-inflammatory activity of the isolated alkaloids was investigated, but none of the alkaloids showed a significant result.

Proline contributes to the taste and flavor of foods. The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae poorly assimilates proline during fermentation processes, resulting in the accumulation of proline in fermentative products. We performed here a screening of in total 1138 yeasts to obtain strains that better utilize proline. Our results suggest that proline utilization occurs in the genera of Zygoascus, Galactomyces, and Magnusiomyces.
