Abstract

本邦における小児歯科学教育の現状を調査するために, 全国29歯科大学・大学歯学部の小児歯科学担当講座(分野)に対してアンケート調査を行った。アンケートは小児歯科学授業(講義), 基礎実習, 臨床実習の3項目について行った。アンケートの結果から以下の実態が確認された。授業では, ほとんどの大学で小児歯科, あるいは成長, 発達などの小児歯科学と関連のあるシラバスの科目名称を有していたが, 小児歯科学単独のシラバスを持たない大学もあった。授業時間は平均55時間程度であったが, 最も少ない大学と多い大学では6倍の差があった。基礎実習は平均35時間行われていたが, 国公立大学の平均に比べ私立大学は有意に多かった。臨床実習実施期間は平均11.9か月で大学問の差は少なかったが, 実施時期は国公立大学に比べ私立大学が約6か月程度早期に行われていた。また, 臨床実習での学生の参加形態や評価方法などは大学問で大きな差があった。 以上のことから, 小児歯科学の教育は各歯科大学・大学歯学部で大きな差があることが確認された。特に授業時間や実習時間は私立大学が多い傾向にあった。また臨床実習の実習期間は大学問で大きな差はないが, 開始時期は私立大学が国公立大学に比べ有意に早いことが示された。, To survey the current state of the education of Pediatric Dentistry in our country, a questionnaire investigation was done to all Dental Colleges and School of Dentistry in Universities. The questionnaire consisted of three fields, such as lecture of Pediatric Dentistry, basic laboratory practice and basic clinical practice. According to the questionnaire, the following things were confirrned. All Universities still have the syllabus conceming Pediatric Dentistry, except for one University. The average hours of lecture was 55 hours. The University with the longest course hours was 6 times higher than the shortest University. The average hours of basic laboratory practice was 35 hours. The private Universities were significantly longer than national and public Universities. While, the period of basic clinical practice was similar in all Universities, however it started 6 months earlier in private Universities compared with national and public Universities. Moreover, there were differences in intervention levels of students to the treatment of the patients and evaluation procedures of basic clinical practicein Universities. In the present study, it was confirrned that the education of Pediatric Dentistry varied considerably between Universities. Especially, the average hours of lecture and basic laboratory practice were longer in private Universities compared to national and public Universities. Furtherrnore, basic clinical practice starts significantly earlier in private Universities.

Abstract

The extended gamma ray source MGRO J1908+06, discovered by the Milagro air shower detector in 2007, has been observed for about 4 years by the ARGO-YBJ experiment at TeV energies, with a statistical significance of 6.2 standard deviations. The peak of the signal is found at a position consistent with the pulsar PSR J1907+0602. Parametrizing the source shape with a two-dimensional Gauss function we estimate an extension \sigma = 0.49 \pm 0.22 degrees, consistent with a previous measurement by the Cherenkov Array H.E.S.S.. The observed energy spectrum is dN/dE = 6.1 \pm 1.4 \times 10^-13 (E/4 TeV)^{-2.54 \pm 0.36} photons cm^-2 s^-1 TeV^-1, in the energy range 1-20 TeV. The measured gamma ray flux is consistent with the results of the Milagro detector, but is 2-3 times larger than the flux previously derived by H.E.S.S. at energies of a few TeV. The continuity of the Milagro and ARGO-YBJ observations and the stable excess rate observed by ARGO-YBJ along 4 years of data taking support the identification of MGRO J1908+06 as the steady powerful TeV pulsar wind nebula of PSR J1907+0602, with an integrated luminosity above 1 TeV about 1.8 times the Crab Nebula luminosity., Comment: 6 pages, accepted for pubblication by ApJ. Abstract

"As one of the brightest active blazars in both X-ray and very high energy γ -ray bands, Mrk 501, is very useful for" "physics associated with jets from active galactic nuclei. The ARGO-YBJ experiment has monitored Mrk 501 for γ - rays above 0.3 TeV since 2007 November. The largest flare since 2005 was observed from 2011 October and lasted until about 2012 April. In this paper, a detailed analysis of this event is reported. During the brightest γ -ray flaring episodes from 2011 October 17 to November 22, an excess of the event rate over 6σ is detected by ARGO-YBJ in the direction of Mrk 501, corresponding to an increase of the γ -ray flux above 1 TeV by a factor of 6.6 ± 2.2 from its steady emission. In particular, the γ -ray flux above 8 TeV is detected with a significance better than 4σ . Based on time-dependent synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) processes, the broadband energy spectrum is interpreted as the emission from an electron energy distribution parameterized with a single power-law function with an exponential cutoff at its high-energy end. The average spectral energy distribution for the steady emission is well described by this simple one-zone SSC model. However, the detection of γ -rays above 8 TeV during the flare challenges this model due to the hardness of the spectra. Correlations between X-rays and γ -rays are also investigated."

Abstract

ARGO-YBJ is a full coverage air shower array located at the YangBaJing Cosmic Ray Laboratory (Tibet, P.R. China, 4300 m a.s.l., 606 g/cm2) recording data with a duty cycle ≥85% and an energy threshold of a few hundred GeV. In this paper the latest results in Gamma-Ray Astronomy are summarized.

Abstract

The ARGO-YBJ detector, located 4300 m a.s.l. on the Tibet plateau, is a ground-based, full- coverage array of Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) covering a surface of 78×74 m2, surrounded by a guard ring of RPCs enclosing a total surface of about 11000 m2. ARGO-YBJ was designed to detect extensive air showers generated by cosmic rays and gamma rays with primary energy greater than few hundred GeV, in order to study the region of the cosmic-ray spectrum out of the reach of both satellite-based experiments and traditional ground-based arrays. The experiment has been running with its complete layout since November 2007, collecting over 2:5×1011 events. The main results obtained by ARGO-YBJ will be presented here, and specifically: the monitoring of astronomical gamma-ray sources, such as the Crab nebula and the MRK 421 AGN, the moon shadow, the medium-scale anisotropy map, the proton-proton inelastic cross section at center-of- mass energy between 70 and 500 GeV where no accelerator data are available.

Abstract

International audience; IRE1α (inositol-requiring enzyme 1 alpha, referred to IRE1 hereafter) is an Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) resident transmembrane enzyme with cytosolic kinase/RNAse activities. Upon ER stress IRE1 is activated through trans-autophosphorylation and oligomerization, resulting in a conformational change of the RNase domain, thereby promoting two signaling pathways: i) the non-conventional splicing of XBP1 mRNA and ii) the regulated IRE1-dependent decay of RNA (RIDD). IRE1 RNase activity has been linked to diverse pathologies such as cancer or inflammatory, metabolic, and degenerative diseases and the modulation of IRE1 activity is emerging as an appealing therapeutic strategy against these diseases. Several modulators of IRE1 activity have been reported in the past, but none have successfully translated into the clinics as yet. Based on our expertise in the field, we describe in this chapter the approaches and protocols we used to discover novel IRE1 modulators and characterize their effect on IRE1 activity.
