The “Reading the Mind in the Eyes test” (RMET), also known as “The Eyes test”, is one of the most widely used tests to study Theory of Mind (ToM) and has been translated to several languages around the world. The aim of this study was to present an online version of the RMET designed for a Mexican population (Barrera-Valdivia et al., 2019) and to explore sex and age-related effects on the performance of the test. 1489 adults (1054 female, 71%) age 18 to 87 (M=30, SD=15) participated in the study. Participants were instructed to choose the word that best described what the person in each picture was feeling among four options. Stimuli consisted of full color images of 45 people’s eyes who expressed a variety of mental states. Results showed that 30 stimuli met the selection criteria: ≥50% selected on target and ≤25% on any of the foils. Average accuracy in response was 76% (SD= 11%) with observable differences by sex and age. Response accuracy allowed to classify stimuli into three difficulty levels (easy, intermediate, and difficult). Results showed that the online version of the RMET is an adequate assessment tool for ToM research in Mexican population as well as other Latin Americans communities that share cultural features.

In order to match the strict reliability requirements mandated by regulations and standards adopted in the automotive sector, as well as other domains where safety is a major concern, the in-field testing of the most critical devices, including microcontrollers and systems on chip, is a crucial task. Since the controller area network (CAN) bus is widely used in the automotive domain, the corresponding controller ubiquitously appears in all these devices. This paper presents a generic and systematic methodology to develop an effective in-field test procedure for CAN controllers based on a functional approach (i.e., on the adoption of self-test libraries). The method can be customized to match the requirements coming from different scenarios, and allows the test engineer to maximize the achieved fault coverage in terms of structural faults in the different cases. The M.In.E.R.Va. project, which was presented at EDULEARN 2014 and 2016, was developed to help students of secondary schools to recover their deficiencies in Mathematics. As the experimentation has produced good results, we extended the project to Calculus and Financial Mathematics courses in Catholic University in Milan. We will use Rasch Analysis and other statistical techniques (e.g. Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory) to prove the “goodness” of the multiple-choice questions that we used in the online exercises and to perform a differential analysis, dividing students in subgroups, in order to individuate the “disturbing” variables. We found that a few questions were problematic. In this case, the common approach is to change the question. We preferred instead to change the didactic approach to the subject of the question and to change the question only if the performance remains low. Since this trial showed quite good results, we can conclude that the platform can be successfully used to point out early problematic subjects and to intervene immediately.

The growing popularity of automatically graded online tests, either as an evaluation or self-assessment tool in online or blended education, demands a review of how these questions are designed and delivered to their intended audience. This paper analyzes the results of over 20,000 preuniversity mock online quizzes designed to train the students for the Spanish university admission test (known as “Pruebas de Acceso a la Universidad” or “Selectividad”) in the technical drawing subject, corresponding to the June and September intakes of 2009 and 2015. The influence of two key aspects on the questions success and skip rates is assessed: (a) the presence or absence of illustration support and (b) the length ofthe question as a proxy ofreading comprehension difficulty. The results support that the presence of an accompanying illustration in the questions result in fewer skipped questions and mode successful answers, while the length of the question has the opposite effect. The performance difference in the 6-year span is also discussed, showing a slight decline over time in the pass rates while the skip rates remain stable. When comparing both two intakes, corresponding to different academic profiles of students that passed the June exam and those who did not, the success ratio is unsurprisingly lower for the students in the second intake. These findings should help improving the design of online quizzes, including more visual content and/or rephrasing the questions to be more concise, to fit the requirements of students educated in a more visual environment of multimedia technologies., Postprint (author's final draft)

Due to recent progress in semiconductor technology, communication is becoming the major source of expense in today's chip design. Network-on-Chip (NoC) is a new paradigm for solving the problem of complex communication on the chips. However, in order to NoC to be ecient in providing complex on-chip communication, the designers should be assured about its correct functionality. For this reason, an ecient test method should be developed for testing the NoC. In order to test the NoC in an ecient way, the test method should be in a way that does not degrade the performance of the NoC (with online test). Moreover it should test the NoC with a high fault coverage (structural test). In this thesis, a new platform is proposed to do online-structural test on NoC. Although NoC's elements has been tested after manufacturing and before being used in a SoC, but when NoC is being used, after some time there is possibility that some errors occur in the elements (e.g. router) of NoC and ruin their functionality. The proposed platform, helps the system developers with online detection and localization of the errors that may occur in routers. Therefore, it increases NoC's reliability. In this platform, the idle routers of NoC are being tested while the rest of the routers are providing on-chip communication. For testing the router the standard test architecture for testing embedded cores (Test-Access-Mechanism (TAM), wrapper, source and sink)is used. In this architecture it is assumed that source and sink are given. The main contribution of this project is to design the wrapper element in such a way that it can be used in the proposed online-structural test platform and reuse NoC as TAM. The limitation of the proposed method is that the number of routers that can be tested at the same time without interrupting NoC's normal functionality depends on topology and size of the NoC. It gives a brief look on psychological construct of intelligence and methods of measuring it, currently in the context of the most spread theory of intelligence C-H-C (Cattell- Horn-Carroll). This thesis focuses on ability called „Visualization“, that is understood as the ability to process visual perceptions and manipulate them in our imagination. The thesis includes functional software, which is made for online computer testing of spatial abilities in children of preschool, or school age.

The first goal to achieve the full-value system which would be able to substitute the conventional methods of education is to find out and solve the issues of testing in general, to analyze the requirements and to create data format for the data portability, which is required because of the mutual communication between different systems. On these bases it is possible to design the database scheme and then the complete system.
