Denna kandidatrapport beskriver det arbete som utfördes i kursen TDDD96, Kandidatprojekt i programvaruutveckling, våren 2024 vid Linköpings universitet. Arbetet gick ut på att vidareutveckla mjukvaruprojektet Arch. Arch är en webbapplikation ämnad att hjälpa privatpersoner digitalt rita upp hus. Detta för att utforska möjligheter kring nybygge eller ombyggnation samt producera fackmannamässiga ritningar som kan bifogas i bygglovsansökan. Rapporten behandlar hur värde kan skapas för kunden med avseende på mjukvaruprojektet Arch, samt vilka erfarenheter som kan dokumenteras därifrån. Ytterligare utforskar rapporten fördelar och nackdelar med att skapa och följa upp en systemanatomi, följa Clean Code-principer samt att ärva en befintlig kodbas. Rapporten inleds med en introduktion och bakgrund, följt av nödvändig teori. Därefter beskrivs den metod som använts för att utföra projektarbetet och samla erfarenheter. I rapporten redovisas ett flertal slutsatser. Det kan vara svårt att veta hur man ska vidareutveckla ett system för att skapa värde för kunden, annat än att kontrollera med kundens representanter huruvida de upplever att arbetet har ett värde för dem. Det är också av yttersta vikt att inledningsvis noggrant planera och strukturera utvecklingsprocessen, samt dokumentera koden för att underlätta överlämning och övertagande av den. Vidare upplevde projektgruppen att en systemanatomi kan ge ett visst stöd i det initiala skapandet av användarscenarion. Utöver detta upplevdes det som att systemanatomin hade mycket begränsade användningsområden för projektgruppen. Ytterligare fanns det upplevda fördelar med att använda Clean Code-principerna vid webbutveckling, dock ansågs det inte helt lämpligt att använda för den syntax som uppkommer inom webbutveckling. Avslutningsvis fanns det en del upplevda utmaningar med att ärva en kodbas med hög komplexitet och avsaknad av övergripande dokumentation.

This research identifies shared strengths of Scrum and Kanban, such as iterative and incremental work and effective workload management, which are particularly beneficial in startup contexts characterized by high uncertainty. By systematically comparing the fundamental elements of both methodologies, the study delineates key dimensions and components that inform the development of a hybrid approach. This study aimed to explore which components of Kanban and Scrum are best suited for navigating uncertainty and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. To achieve this objective, our first research question delves into the productive attributes of both Scrum and Kanban methods, laying the groundwork for our investigation. Additionally, we sought to identify the key factors driving adaptations in the application of these methods within software startups, as well as pinpoint the highlighted concepts and elements that can be effectively utilized. This formed the basis of our second research question, with the ultimate aim of developing a hybrid model that integrates the most beneficial aspects of both methodologies, thus addressing the challenges posed by uncertainty and rapid change in the initial phase of the study. We employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing a literature review, survey, and case study analysis. The theoretical foundation was established through a comprehensive review of existing literature on Scrum and Kanban, supported by the construction of a comparative mind map. Survey data was collected from industry professionals to gather insights into the practical application of these methodologies. Additionally, a case study was conducted to provide a deeper understanding of the challenges and successes in implementing agile practices within a startup environment. En este proyecto se pretende dar a conocer los pasos a seguir para la industrialización de un utillaje de estampación en frío progresivo. Toda la explicación irá acompañada de un ejemplo práctico y real para clarificar y demostrar el proceso desde la necesidad de un cliente y el origen de la solución hasta la materialización de la pieza a producir. Para realizar esta recopilación de datos han sido necesarios años de experiencia en el campo de la estampación, y a su vez ser conocedor del oficio de la matricería desde una perspectiva teórica hasta uno más práctico. Aclarar que la fabricación del utillaje es un método externalizado, ya que este compendio de ideas se enfoca en la demanda de una herramienta de producción en serie por parte de un proveedor para satisfacer las necesidades de producción interna. Por lo tanto, a lo largo del proceso se sitúa entre una actividad inicial comercial y una final de producción. Sin embargo, el cumplimiento de los pliegos de condiciones y normativas vigentes por parte del cliente es imperativo para el proveedor del utillaje., Aquest projecte vol donar a conèixer els pasos a seguir per a la industrialització d’un utillatge d'estampació en fred progressiu. Tota la explicació anirà acompanyada d’un exemple pràctic i real per aclarir i demostrar el procès des de la necessitat d’un client i l’origen de la solució fins la materialització de la peça a produïr. Però, el compliment del plec de condicions i normatives vigents per part del client és imperatiu pel proveïdor de l'utillatge., This project aims to know the steps to follow during the industrialization of a cold stamping die. The whole explanation will be followed by a real example to be clear enough and demonstrate the process, from the need of the customer and the origin of the solution, until the materialization of the part to produce. To gather all the needed data, years of experience have been needed in the stamping area, and at the same time knowing the job from the theory until the practice, being a toolmaker. To be clear, the tooling of the die is an externalized method, this compendium of ideas is focused on the demand of a serial tool by a supplier to satisfy the need of the customer getting its own internal production. Therefore, during the process the explanation will be located between an initial commercial activity and a final production activity. However, the accomplishment of the specifications document and norms by the customer is a mandatory for the supplier of the tool.

Drönare är ett växande fenomen i dagens samhälle och deras användningsområdenhar snabbt ökat de senaste åren. För att underlätta utvecklingen av drönarteknologi kansimuleringar tillämpas då de möjliggör testning i en kontrollerad och riskfri miljö. I dettaprojekt visualiseras simuleringar av drönare i ett försök att skapa värde för denna utveckling. Visualiseringen skedde med hjälp av Unreal Engine 5. Under projektets gång studerades arbetsmetoderna som nyttjades och hur en systemanatomi kan bidra till utvecklingen iett småskaligt mjukvaruprojekt. Största värdet som producerades för kunden var kommunikationsmodulen. Kommunikationen uppnåddes med hjälp av två JSON-filer som visualiseringen respektive simuleringen skrev till för att kommunicera med varandra. Värdeti denna modul ligger i att kunden sökte en modulär lösning för att kommunicera mellanen 3D-visualisering och en simulering. En erfarenhet som uppmärksammades angåendearbetsmetoderna är vikten av en fungerande gruppdynamik. Bidragande faktorer till detvar agila arbetsmetoder, goda kommunikationsvägar och en väl planerad användning avGit. Systemanatomier upplevdes ge begränsat värde till projektet.

This study aims to assist Swedish company Clemondo AB in reducing waste in production, where the goal is to determine where waste appears as well as make suggestions for potential improvements, which are presented as Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and minimized manufacturing costs. Citation chaining is used to retrieve extant literature, while other productions and process-related information are gathered through observations and discussions. The production and its value-creating activities are modeled through Environmental Value Stream Mapping (EVSM). Factors causing downtimes and other waste are identified via a Production Performance Matrix (PPM). The results show that actual production times differ from the planned times, which causes waste in terms of time consumption and energy consumption. Moreover, downtimes are present and are normally caused by the same factors. Wasted materials in terms of blend spillage and discarded packaging materials are also present in production. All waste ultimately increases the manufacturing cost, and it is concluded that the company spends approximately 13 000 SEK more on each batch production due to existing waste. In order to optimize production, and specifically to reduce waste, four KPI measurements are suggested for the company: (1) measuring all times in production including occurring downtimes, (2) frequently calculating OEE, (3) tracking material spillage, and (4) measuring energy consumption. Potential future studies include further investigating other areas in production where waste may be present, as well as continuously doing follow-ups to see how changes affect waste optimization., Denna studie har syftet att vägleda det svenska företaget Clemondo AB i att minska på avfall och annat slösande i deras produktion. Detta fullföljs genom att fastställa vart avfall och slösande uppkommer, samt genom att ge förslag på förbättringar, vilket presenteras i form av Key Performance Indices (KPIs) och i minskade produktionskostnader. För att optimera produktionen, och specifikt för att minska avfallet, föreslås fyra KPI-mätningar för företaget: (1) mäta alla tider i produktionen inklusive förekommande stilleståndstider, (2) kontinuerligt beräkna OEE, (3) spåra materialspill och (4) mäta energiförbrukningen. Potentiella framtidsstudier inkluderar att ytterligare undersöka andra områden i produktionen där avfall kan förekomma, samt att kontinuerligt göra uppföljningar för att se hur förändringar påverkar avfallsoptimeringen., A manufacturing company wastes millions of SEK annually due to unnecessary practices. How is the company supposed to minimize these costs and become the most coveted company on the market? Our study analyzed waste on a production line to help a company become more green. We found that the most waste comes from recurring disturbances. These disturbances cover unnecessary downtime, energy consumption, and insufficient planning ... to name a few. Operators are left waiting for the next task to come along, and as the saying goes; time is money! The company spends 13 000 SEK extra each batch due to waste, which leads to millions of SEK being wasted each year. To avoid this, simple measurements can be implemented in the system, which will lead the company to where the grass is greener on the other side. Not only will this save them money, but it is also good for the environment! By limiting the material littering, our planet can flourish. We can think of production as a recipe. Based on our study, the key ingredients are simple. To promote more sustainable production, accurate documentation of the production in the form of protocols makes planning more efficient and leaves room for optimization. Tracking how and when materials are discarded during production is another ingredient. This helps with exposing what practices need to be changed to promote green work habits. The last ingredient is measuring the energy consumption. Some scenarios in our study indicated longer production time, and it could be beneficial to establish how much this affects energy consumption. To see any issues in production, it would be well-fitting to measure the consumption of every production. Having these ingredients as your mise en place, you can cook up the recipe for optimal equipment efficiency and be full and satisfied, knowing that the company is in good and green hands. A 3D bioprinter employing light-based technology has been designed and constructed in an EU-funded research initiative known as BRIGHTER (Bioprinting by Light-Sheet Lithography). This initiative is a collaborative effort between institutions and companies and aims to develop a technique for efficient and accurate production of engineered tissue. Presently, the bioprinter’s function is limited to 2D printing, with the lack of 3D printing capabilities. The problem addressed is the integration of two separate electronic systems within the bioprinter to control the laser beam’s trajectory for 3D printing. The goal of the project is to create functional software and simulation tools to control the hardware modules in a precise and synchronized manner, thereby enabling 3D printing. The outcome manifests as a software prototype, which successfully facilitates intercommunication between the two electronic subsystems within the bioprinter, thereby enabling further progress on the bioprinter with 3D printing available. Nevertheless, the prototype requires thorough testing to determine its optimal operational efficiency in terms of timing the movements for the various hardware modules., En 3D-bioprinter som använder ljusbaserad teknik har designats och konstruerats i ett EU-finansierat forskningsinitiativ som kallas BRIGHTER (Bioprinting by Light-Sheet Lithography). Purpose: This research aims to try to application the two cards (kanban) system and the value stream map in the electrical cables factory in the Ur Company for Electrical Industries, with the intention of rationalizing the storage costs and improving the production, marketing and warehouse process to get rid of waste, and loss in time and cost. Theoretical framework: This research problem emerged due to the lack of The factory application of these systems that work to solve the problem of storage accumulation as well as improving the progress of the production process, and the research hypothesis has proven that it is possible to apply the Kanban system and the value stream map in the plant under discussion. Design/methodology/approach: The research showed the most important conclusions, including stock accumulation of various types, reduction of inventory, improvement of work flow, improvement in response to changes in customer requests, reduction of risk of obsolescence of inventory, reduction of the percentage of spoilage from (3%) to (2%), and rationalization of total production inventory from 858 tons [26 tons × 31 days] to 806 tons [ 26 tons x 33 days]. This paper proposes the use of a Kanban system to improve the conduct of clinical trials for drugs and medical devices. The main goal is to shorten the lead times in clinical trial start-ups, resulting in faster access to new therapies and cost savings. Additionally, the proposed system aims to increase employee satisfaction through workload balancing and empowerment. The research is qualitative and can be further typified as a combination of case research and action research. To identify the causes of long lead times in clinical trial start-ups, two Contract Research Organizations (CROs) that conduct clinical trials for sponsors were analyzed. The proposed Kanban system was implemented in one of these companies to test its viability and results. According to initial estimates, the results show a possibility of achieving a lead time reduction of at least 7% per study. This translates to savings of about $680,000 per Phase III study of the trial and significant improvements in employee satisfaction.

The article's objective was the implementation of the lean manufacturing methodology in the production process of an air conditioning metal processing plant. For this, the methodology of 2 phases was used. The company and its current operation, structure, products, and work plan are presented in the first phase, demonstrating its main deficiencies. In phase 2, an improvement plan was made with lean manufacturing tools applied to the deficit of phase 1. As a result of the implementation of these tools, 64%, 80%, 71% and 50% of space in the measuring, cutting, bending, and welding stations, respectively, and an improvement in production times were obtained. Based on the study results, it is concluded that the application of lean manufacturing benefited the company by drastically improving its production process and work environment.

One success factor of Kanban is its elegant simplicity for physical inventory control. However, especially in multi-variant productions inventory levels are digitally tracked. To maintain the high service levels of the Kanban systems, the digital representation in the ERP must reliably reflect the physical inventory levels and deviations should be detectable. The design of such a digitally tracked Kanban systems requires a booking logic and a method for deviation detection. Especially in multi-stage systems with several inventory levels, the design of a simple and robust Kanban logic is challenging. Thus, the paper first gives an overview of existing inventory booking strategies. Based on the strategies the effects of inventory deviations on logistical performance in classic Kanban and digitally controlled Kanban systems are discussed. Design guidelines summarize the analysis. Subsequently, three different design alternatives of a classical, digital and high resolution Kanban system are developed. These guidelines and design alternatives should enable practitioners to setup reliable Kanban systems including their digital representation.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou Lean managementu, konkrétně využitím jedné z nejčastěji využívaných metod, a to jest Mapování hodnotového toku (VSM). The machine control has always been a task, carried out exclusively by people who do not work directly on the production lines, so people directly involved in production do not need to worry about the materials needed for their work, and with this model there was difficulty when product supply. Therefore, the objective of this research was to identify benefits and results in the application of the Kanban system in a marine engine maintenance company, in the warehouse sector, added to the selection of literature that conceptualized the mechanism of the system; the identification of the process, from the organization of maintenance parts, as a way to facilitate the maintenance of marine engines. The company studied, founded in 2014, headquartered in the city of Manaus/AM, specializes in marine engine maintenance, with machinery as its main sector. The company has vacancies ranging from 11 to 50 employees annually, according to demands and times of the year. The methodology addressed is of a mixed nature, being part bibliographical in order to select works for the basis and better understanding of the subject, and part case study, since the maritime maintenance company will be the focus of this article. The kanban system determines the quantity of supply so that bottlenecks do not occur with regard to the company's production. Regarding the updating of the table, every day you should check which are the stocks with the highest degree of demand, indicated by the color red, being possible and necessary to pass on to the replacement sector, the missing products. the control system was installed by means of plates that indicated the quantity of parts they had and with that, it could be predicted which parts were priorities in reallocation in the stock, replacing mainly products and fundamental parts for the continuity of the maintenance. [Resumen]: Gracias a los recientes avances en el campo de la medicina, los especialistas clínicos pueden realizar diagnósticos más precisos y personalizados de una serie de relevantes enfermedades. En particular, en el campo de la oftalmología, existen varios procedimientos de diagnóstico que utilizan diferentes tipos de tecnologías de captura de imagen del fondo de ojo. Algunas de las más utilizadas para evaluar el grado de deterioro de las células fotorreceptoras de la retina son la tomografía de coherencia óptica (OCT) y la microperimetría. En particular, la OCT es una técnica de imagen tomográfica que posibilita el estudio de las estructuras internas de un tejido como en este caso el de la retina. Por otro lado, la microperimetría, una técnica de diagnóstico que mide la sensibilidad de la mácula, también puede mostrar cualquier lesión incipiente en la zona central de la retina. El proceso de diagnóstico se realiza mediante la inspección visual de una gran cantidad de imágenes del paciente. A esto se suma que para realizar un análisis multimodal, es necesario comparar informaciones de distintos dispositivos, lo que resulta costoso y requiere mucho tiempo. La plataforma web para la gestión clínica y mejora del análisis multimodal que se ha desarrollado incluye varios módulos para facilitar el análisis automático de la región de los fotorreceptores en imágenes de la retina. In particular, in the field of ophthalmology, there are several diagnostic procedures that use different types of eye fundus imaging technologies. Some of the most widely used for evaluating the degree of deterioration of the retina’s photoreceptor cells are optical coherence tomography (OCT) and microperimetry. In particular, OCT is a tomographic imaging technique that enables the study of the internal structures of a tissue such as the retina. On the other hand, microperimetry, a diagnostic technique that measures the sensitivity of the macula, can also show any early damage in the central area of the retina. The diagnostic process is carried out through the visual inspection of a large number of patient images. To this is added that to perform a multimodal analysis, it is necessary to compare information from different devices, which is costly and takes a lot of time. The web platform for clinical management and improvement of multimodal analysis that has been developed includes several modules to facilitate the automatic analysis of the photoreceptor region in retina images. This tool assists the clinical expert by providing multimodal information from images of both modalities (OCT and microperimetry) to establish a precise diagnosis of different ocular and systemic pathologies. La Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya tuvo que adaptarse a los nuevos requisitos de trabajo telemático durante el confinamiento. En los primeros meses, fue necesario ofrecer un servicio de Office online, y para gestionarlo se desarrolló la herramienta Gestió d'Office 365. Esta herramienta constaba únicamente de un servidor sin interfaz de usuario gráfica, y sólo lo podían administrar usuarios técnicos. Ahora, el proyecto del presente Trabajo de fin de grado aporta una interfaz gráfica para que los usuarios no técnicos puedan administrar la herramienta., The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya had to adapt to the new requirements of remote working during the lockdown. Agilität als Möglichkeit, Organisationen erfolgreicher auszurichten, wird auch in Bibliotheken populärer. Oft erfolgt die agile Transformation dabei aber mit einem einseitigen Fokus auf agile Tools, was zu Frustration und Ablehnung bei den Bibliotheksmitarbeiter*innen führen kann. Besteht hingegen auch ein Bewusstsein für agile Prinzipien und Werte sowie die Bereitschaft, das agile Arbeiten empiriebasiert an die Bedürfnisse der Bibliotheksmitarbeiter*innen und Benutzer*innen anzupassen, kann die Transformation gelingen. Dies zeigt der Beitrag anhand von Praxisbeispielen auf der Ebene von Projekten, Teams und der Gesamtorganisation von Bibliotheken auf.

Para ello, se utilizarán los medios de transporte públicos más usados de la ciudad para moverse (EMT Valencia, Metrovalencia y Valenbisi). El algoritmo ofrecerá un camino multimodal entre dos puntos de la ciudad, con la novedad de que se tendrán en cuenta también aspectos relacionados con el medio ambiente, lo que permitirá moverse por la ciudad de una forma más sostenible. Implementeringen av Leanverktyg i sågverksindustrin är fortfarande nyjämfört med andra industrier. Syftet med denna studie är därför att ökakunskapen om tillämpningen av Lean och se vilken effekt det har. Måletär att se vilka Lean-verktyg som är lämpliga för denna industri och hur dekan tillämpas. En kartläggning av fallföretagets nuvarande tillstånd skapasoch analyseras, och flera slöserier identifieras. Det undersöks också vilkaandra Leanverktyg som kan tillämpas effektivt. Ett TAK värde beräknasutifrån värdeflödesanalysen samt processens effektivitet. På grund avomständigheterna är våra resultat mycket missvisande och bättretillämpningar av Leanverktyg diskuteras. Som en följd av våraavgränsningar rekommenderas ytterligare forskning för att uppnå enbättre rapport., The implementation of Lean tools in the sawmill industry is still new compared to the other industries. Therefore the purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge around the application of Lean and see the effect it has. The objective is to see which Lean tools are suited for this industry and how they can be applied. A map of the current state of the case company is created and analyzed, and several wastes are identified. It is also researched which other Lean tools can be applied effectively. An Overall equipment effectiveness value is calculated from the Value stream map as well as the process efficiency. Due to the circumstances our results are very misleading and better applications of Lean tools are discussed. As a consequence of our boundaries further research is advised to achieve a better report.

Agile methods have been used for many years in some industries too organizework, that increase in productivity can be used in the advertising production. As this study indicate, agile methods in general, Scrum and Kanban in particular, are used to some extent within advertising production agencies, even though most co-workers in commercial industry do not seem to know what these methods are or how to utilise them to full extent. Through interviews with project leaders within the advertising industry, this study shows that the digital systems that they use are mostly based on Scrum and/or Kanban methods. Even so, very few co-workers or even the project leaders have any knowledge about the basics of agile work models and methods. This study has found that lesser knowledge of agile work methods in the advertising production industry may result in lower productivity and efficiency for the co-workers, which indicates it may result in higher costs and longer leadtimes for projects.

Agile has revolutionized the way of working in the IT sector. Over the past two decades it has increased software development success rates and boosted the productivity of IT teams. How- ever, there is a lot of research on agile project management but very little outside the software industry. As more industries adopt agile project management, there is a need for research on agile project management outside the software industry. Fourteen expert interviews with expe- rienced project managers from different industries were analyzed. This research provides new insights into the success factors of agile project management. It contributes to a better under- standing of the impact of this method on product and project performance in different industries. En produktion utan spårbarhet leder till sekundära problem och mer arbete vid reklamationer från flera olika kunder där samma komponent är felande eller inte uppnår uppsatta kravspecifikationerna, det finns en nytta med att veta i vilka fler slutprodukter fler komponenter från samma batch sitter. Då kan de bytas ut eller servicepaket kan skickas ut till kund innan det uppstår komplikationer för kunden. Kund- och lagkrav på att kunna spåra kritiska komponenter inom medicinteknik för att få leverera finns. Spårbarhetsanalysen för att generera ett lösningsförslag för fallstudien grundar sig i en blandning av kvalitativ- och kvantitativ datainsamling. Intervjuer och litteraturstudie tillsammans med produktionsdata ligger fundament för framtagning av vilken nivå som lämpar sig och vilken lösning som bör implementeras i nuläget. Resultatet är att skapa förutsättningar för att kunna spåra komponenter. Lösningen bygger på ett inhouse standardiserat 2-bin kanbansystem med FIFO (first in first out). Informationen registreras på samtliga lagerplatser och följer materialet genom produktionsflödet. Det information som ska följa med materialet är tid och datum vid ankomst, leverantör, kvantitet och artikelnummer. Detta behövs implementeras på samtliga lagerhållningsplatser för att informationen ska följa med till utleverans och slutproduktens individuella identifieringsnummer. Genom analysmetoderna släktskapsträd, PICK-chart och 5 varför har resultatet framtagits. Eliminering av lösningar som inte är aktuella i nuläget har även belysts i analyserna. Jämförelse av flödesanalys genom simulering har gett ett mått på hur detta påverkar produktionen i helhet. Studien kan användas som första steget i ett PDCA-projekt (Plan, Do, Check, Act) där denna rapport står för planeringsfasen. Studien handlar om att undersöka ett förbättringsområde i den valda avdelningen i organisationens produktionsprocess. Förbättringsarbetet är baserat på problem som uppstår hos medarbetarna vid produktionen. Studien är kvalitativ vilket innebär att informationen samlas genom intervjuer och observationer. I studien visualiseras tillverkningsprocessen i företaget. Först skapas en grovprocesskartläggning för den mest efterfrågade tjänsten i avdelningen, sedan hittas aktiviteter som inte skapar värde för verksamheten samt kunderna. Aktiviteterna som inte skapar värde ska elimineras bort och en plan om åtgärder skall presenteras. Den anskaffade informationen om processen skall användas av medarbetarna i avdelningen för att skapa en bättre intern kommunikation. Studien ger förslag på arbetssätt om hur avdelningen kan följa upp den nya processen samt hur avdelningen kan arbeta systematiskt med de ritade processerna. Processen som presenteras består av två delar. Den första delen är delprocessen som presenterar alla steg som sker innan medarbetarna börjar med tillverkningen av tjänsten. Det består av dagliga aktiviteter som inte har dokumenterats tidigare. Vid del två av processen som är huvudprocessen, då presenteras alla steg som medarbetarna går genom för att skapa en tjänst. Den delen av processen ser olika beroende på vilken tjänst som skall undersökas. Studien har i syfte att förbättra kvalitén på tillverkningsprocessen genom att använda olika verktyg och arbetssätt. Processkartläggningen ritas för att visualisera produktionsprocessen, förbättringsområde identifieras med hjälp av FMEA för att arbeta ständigt med förbättringar. The improvement work is based on problems that arise with the employees during production. The study is qualitative, which means that the information is collected through interviews and observations. The study visualizes the manufacturing process in the company. First, a rough process mapping is created for the most requested service in the department, then activities are found that do not create value for the business and the customers. The activities that do not create value must be eliminated and a plan of measures must be presented. The information obtained about the process will be used by the employees in the department to create a better internal communication. The study provides suggestions for working methods on how the department can follow up the new process and how the department can work systematically with the drawn processes. The process presented consists of two parts. The first part is the sub-process that presents all the steps that take place before the employees start manufacturing the service. It consists daily activities that have not been documented before. In part two of the process, which is the main process, its about presenting all the steps that employees go through to create a service. That part of the process looks different depending on which service is to be analyzed. The study aims to improve the quality of the manufacturing process by using different tools and working methods. The process mapping is designed to visualize the production process, areas for improvement are identified with the help of FMEA to work constantly with improvements. Syftet med denna studie är därför att ökakunskapen om tillämpningen av Lean och se vilken effekt det har. Måletär att se vilka Lean-verktyg som är lämpliga för denna industri och hur dekan tillämpas. En kartläggning av fallföretagets nuvarande tillstånd skapasoch analyseras, och flera slöserier identifieras. Det undersöks också vilkaandra Leanverktyg som kan tillämpas effektivt. Som en följd av våraavgränsningar rekommenderas ytterligare forskning för att uppnå enbättre rapport., The implementation of Lean tools in the sawmill industry is still new compared to the other industries. Therefore the purpose of this study is to increase the knowledge around the application of Lean and see the effect it has. The objective is to see which Lean tools are suited for this industry and how they can be applied. A map of the current state of the case company is created and analyzed, and several wastes are identified. It is also researched which other Lean tools can be applied effectively. An Overall equipment effectiveness value is calculated from the Value stream map as well as the process efficiency. Due to the circumstances our results are very misleading and better applications of Lean tools are discussed. As a consequence of our boundaries further research is advised to achieve a better report.

Detta skapar ett krav avinnovativt, resurssnålt och effektivt tänkande kring svenska industrier. Trots detta ståräven svenska industrier inför en stor möjlighet då fler och fler industrier vill ta tillbakasin tillverkning från utlandet.Företagen kan bli mer effektiva och skapa en förbättrad kvalité med Lean filosofin. Föratt lyckas med detta måste kortare ledtider och lägre kostnader uppnås.Sverige består till stor del av SME företag. 97% av Sveriges tillverkande företag harmindre än 50 anställda och samtidigt finns det endast cirka 100-150 företag inomtillverkning som har mer än 500 anställda. Detta medför att relevansen medimplementering av Lean och effektivisering inom SME är ett viktigt steg för en stor delav Sveriges tillverkande ekonomi.Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om Lean kan bidra till effektiviseringar hosmindre tillverkande företag. Studien handlar om att undersöka ett förbättringsområde i den valda avdelningen i organisationens produktionsprocess. Förbättringsarbetet är baserat på problem som uppstår hos medarbetarna vid produktionen. Studien är kvalitativ vilket innebär att informationen samlas genom intervjuer och observationer. I studien visualiseras tillverkningsprocessen i företaget. Först skapas en grovprocesskartläggning för den mest efterfrågade tjänsten i avdelningen, sedan hittas aktiviteter som inte skapar värde för verksamheten samt kunderna. Aktiviteterna som inte skapar värde ska elimineras bort och en plan om åtgärder skall presenteras. Den anskaffade informationen om processen skall användas av medarbetarna i avdelningen för att skapa en bättre intern kommunikation. En produktion utan spårbarhet leder till sekundära problem och mer arbete vid reklamationer från flera olika kunder där samma komponent är felande eller inte uppnår uppsatta kravspecifikationerna, det finns en nytta med att veta i vilka fler slutprodukter fler komponenter från samma batch sitter. Då kan de bytas ut eller servicepaket kan skickas ut till kund innan det uppstår komplikationer för kunden. Kund- och lagkrav på att kunna spåra kritiska komponenter inom medicinteknik för att få leverera finns. Spårbarhetsanalysen för att generera ett lösningsförslag för fallstudien grundar sig i en blandning av kvalitativ- och kvantitativ datainsamling. Intervjuer och litteraturstudie tillsammans med produktionsdata ligger fundament för framtagning av vilken nivå som lämpar sig och vilken lösning som bör implementeras i nuläget. Resultatet är att skapa förutsättningar för att kunna spåra komponenter. Lösningen bygger på ett inhouse standardiserat 2-bin kanbansystem med FIFO (first in first out). Informationen registreras på samtliga lagerplatser och följer materialet genom produktionsflödet. Det information som ska följa med materialet är tid och datum vid ankomst, leverantör, kvantitet och artikelnummer. Detta behövs implementeras på samtliga lagerhållningsplatser för att informationen ska följa med till utleverans och slutproduktens individuella identifieringsnummer. Genom analysmetoderna släktskapsträd, PICK-chart och 5 varför har resultatet framtagits. Eliminering av lösningar som inte är aktuella i nuläget har även belysts i analyserna. Jämförelse av flödesanalys genom simulering har gett ett mått på hur detta påverkar produktionen i helhet. Diese Masterarbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Einfluss der Visualisierung und Work-in-Progress Limitierung der agilen Methode Kanban auf die Ablauforganisation im Vertrieb von Investitionsgütern in österreichischen Großunternehmen. Da der Mehrwert von Agilität und Kanban in verschiedenen Unternehmensbereichen außerhalb des Vertriebs bereits aufgezeigt werden konnte, und der Einsatz von Scrum im Vertrieb erforscht wurde, beschäftigt sich diese Arbeit mit der Methode Kanban im Vertrieb. Dafür wurden Experteninterviews mit vier Methodenexperten und vier Vertriebsexperten durchgeführt und mithilfe der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Kuckartz ausgewertet. Die Ergebnisse zeigen unter anderem, dass durch den Einsatz der beiden Praktiken Herausforderungen und Probleme in der Ablauforganisation im Vertrieb aufgezeigt werden und Verbesserungen durch die Mitarbeitenden selbst initiiert werden können. Außerdem kann die Messbarkeit gesteigert werden und damit zuverlässigere Prognosen und erhöhte Transparenz innerhalb des Vertriebs sowie abteilungsübergreifend geschaffen werden. Agile has revolutionized the way of working in the IT sector. Over the past two decades it has increased software development success rates and boosted the productivity of IT teams. How- ever, there is a lot of research on agile project management but very little outside the software industry. As more industries adopt agile project management, there is a need for research on agile project management outside the software industry. Fourteen expert interviews with expe- rienced project managers from different industries were analyzed. This research provides new insights into the success factors of agile project management. It contributes to a better under- standing of the impact of this method on product and project performance in different industries. [Abstract] The current BREEAM platform is a software tool that enables building assessors to register projects for which they want to obtain a sustainability certificate, and follow its certification process, which by an ordered exchange of documents between the assessors and the BREEAM technicians, the obtainment of the desired certificate. One of the main documents needed for the obtainment of a BREEAM sustainability certificate that are currently sent forth and back between the assessors and the BREEAM technician is the evaluation form, which is the main focus of this project. Concretely, the main goal of this project is the creation of an expert system that uses the evaluation logic of the technical manual used by BREEAM to digitize and automate the generation of dynamic forms that have real-time updates, after which the structure and views of these forms have to be developed on the frontend, and finally, the consequent integration of both the expert system and the frontend side of the evaluation form into the existing platform that manages the process of obtainment of a sustainability certificate., [Resumo] A actual plataforma BREEAM é unha ferramenta software que abilita aos asesores de edificios o rexistro de proxectos para os que eles queren obter un certificado de sustañibilidade, e seguer o proceso de certificación do proxecto, o cal a través dun ordeado intercambio de documentos entre ditos asesores e os técnicos de BREEAM, a obtención dos certificados desexados. Un dos documentos máis importantes que é requirido para a obtención dun certificado BREEAM de sustñibilidade e que actualmente é enviado entre os asesores e os técnicos de BREEAM é o formulario de evaluación, o cal será o foco principal deste TFG. Concretamente, o obxectivo principal deste TFG é a creación dun sistema experto que use a lóxica de evaluación do manual técnico usado por BREEAM para a dixitalizar e automatizar a xeración de formularios dinámicos que sexan actualizados en tempo real, tras o cal terá que desenvolverse a estrutura e vistas do formulario no frontend, e finalmente, a consecuente integración de tanto o sistema experto como a parte do frontend do formulario na plataforma actual que manexa o proceso de obtención de certificados de sustañibilidade.

The application must allow to create projects, each with its own tasks, plan these tasks using kanban boards, as well as store the time dedicated to the tasks and projects, which will be used to generate useful reports to the user. Unlike a typical task management app, Kanban boards do not represent a project, they represent a time interval, and they can contain tasks from multiple projects. The application backend, which contains its business logic, consists in a REST API implemented using Java tecnologies along with the Spring Boot framework, persisting needed data on MySQL. The application’s frontend consists of a SPA web application implemented using JavaScript, relying on libraries like React, Redux or Material-UI.

Agile methods have been used for many years in some industries too organizework, that increase in productivity can be used in the advertising production. As this study indicate, agile methods in general, Scrum and Kanban in particular, are used to some extent within advertising production agencies, even though most co-workers in commercial industry do not seem to know what these methods are or how to utilise them to full extent. Through interviews with project leaders within the advertising industry, this study shows that the digital systems that they use are mostly based on Scrum and/or Kanban methods. Even so, very few co-workers or even the project leaders have any knowledge about the basics of agile work models and methods. This study has found that lesser knowledge of agile work methods in the advertising production industry may result in lower productivity and efficiency for the co-workers, which indicates it may result in higher costs and longer leadtimes for projects.

[ES] El trabajo a desarrollar surge de la realización de las prácticas de grado en la empresa Schneider Electric, la aparición de un problema de rupturas de cliente y el objetivo de mejorar una línea de producción con el fin de ser más eficientes. Un TFG basado principalmente en el lean manufacturing y sus posibles aplicaciones a una línea de producción. Los conocimientos del lean manufacturing empleados para resolver el problema son adquiridos en varias asignaturas de la titulación como Fundamentos de Organización de Empresas, Equipos de mejora continua, ¿ asignaturas altamente relacionadas con la titulación de GIOI y basadas en la gestión y mejora de la eficiencia en las empresas. Se resolverá un problema de servicio al cliente. Este problema aparece en un subcontratista local de Schneider Electric debido a un aumento de la demanda de una línea de productos que no reflejaban las previsiones con las que se trabaja ya que hasta el momento a lo largo de los años tenía una demanda muy estable y bastante ajustada al modelo de las previsiones anuales. A simple vista parecía un problema de capacidad industrial según el subcontratista, pero para hallar el problema se empieza por aplicar herramientas lean de análisis de problemas en equipo como es el diagrama de pez, Root Cause Analysis y terminamos el análisis del problema con un VSM.
