1. First detection in space of the high-energy isomer of cyanomethanimine: H2CNCN

Abstract: We report the first detection in the interstellar medium of $N$-cyanomethanimine (H$_2$CNCN), the stable dimer of HCN of highest energy, and the most complex organic molecule identified in space containing the prebiotically relevant NCN backbone. We have identified a plethora of $a$-type rotational transitions with 3 $\leq J_\text{up} \leq$ 11 and $K_\text{a} \leq$ 2 that belong to this species towards the Galactic Center G+0.693-0.027 molecular cloud, the only interstellar source showing the three cyanomethanimine isomers (including the $Z$- and $E$- isomers of $C$-cyanomethanimine, HNCHCN). We have derived a total column density for H$_2$CNCN of (2.9$\, \pm \,$0.1)$\times$10$^{12}$ cm$^{-2}$, which translates into a total molecular abundance with respect to H$_2$ of (2.1$\, \pm \,$0.3)$\times$10$^{-11}$. We have also revisited the previous detection of $E$- and $Z$-HNCHCN, and found a total $C/N$-cyanomethanimine abundance ratio of 31.8$\, \pm \,$1.8 and a $Z/E$-HNCHCN ratio of 4.5$\, \pm \,$0.2. While the latter can be explained on the basis of thermodynamic equilibrium, chemical kinetics are more likely responsible for the observed $C/N$-cyanomethanimine abundance ratio, where the gas-phase reaction between methanimine (CH$_2$NH) and the cyanogen radical (CN) arises as the primary formation route., Comment: 22 pages, 8 figures, 3 tables, 2 appendix - Accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal

Abstract: [ES] La actividad de innovación docente que se presenta se enmarca dentro del proyecto NutClinROLE con financiación del "Vicerrectorado de Formación Permanente, Transformació Docent i Ocupació" de la Universitat de València, (UV-SFPIE_PID-2075858). Se basa en la realización de entrenamientos de simulación en nutrición, como estrategia metodológica innovadora para la enseñanza de las ciencias de la nutrición y la dietética en la educación superior. El objetivo de este trabajo fue realizar unos vídeos de actividades de simulación para aprender y practicar habilidades en entrevistas nutricionales mediante el trabajo de casos clínicos. Los casos clínicos que se elaboraron en la simulación fueron sobre pacientes con enfermedad renal. Los alumnos trabajaron tras el visionado de los vídeos, estableciendo roles de paciente y nutricionista para la resolución de otros casos clínicos en nutrición. Durante la simulación y mediante unas fichas que incorporan información sobre el paciente y su patología, incluyendo datos antropométricos y analíticos, el estudiante-nutricionista debe desarrollar la anamnesis clínico-dietética, planificar la intervención nutricional y realizar la pauta dietética al estudiante-paciente. Durante la capacitación, los estudiantes adquirieron conocimientos sobre insuficiencia renal crónica, y pusieron en práctica entrevistas nutricionales y recomendaciones dietéticas. Se evaluó el impacto de la metodología de juego de roles en base a sus opiniones antes y después de la actividad, reportando una experiencia positiva y mayor conocimiento en nutrición. En cuanto a la resolución del caso clínico, se ha observado que el alumno tiene los conocimientos suficientes para resolverlo, pero presenta deficiencias en la organización de la información y habilidades comunicativas., [EN] The teaching innovation activity that is presented is part of the NutClinROLE project with financial support from the "Vicerectorado de Formación Permanente, Transformació Docent i Ocupació" of the University of Valencia, (UV-SFPIE_PID-2075858). It is based on carrying out simulation training in nutrition, as an innovative methodological strategy for teaching nutrition sciences and dietetics in higher education. The objective of this work was to make videos of simulation in clinical nutrition to learn and practice skills in nutritional interviews. The clinical cases that were developed in the simulation were about patients with kidney disease. The students worked after viewing the videos, establishing the roles of patient and nutritionist for the resolution of other clinical cases in nutrition. During the activity, it was incorporated information about the patient and his pathology, including anthropometric and analytical data, however the nutritionist does not have this information and must solve and guide the patient nutritionally during the simulation. During the training, the students acquired knowledge about chronic renal failure, and put into practice nutritional interviews and dietary recommendations. The impact of the role-play methodology was evaluated based on their opinions before and after the activity. It was reported a positive experience and greater knowledge in nutrition. Regarding the resolution of the clinical case, it has been observed that the student has sufficient knowledge to solve it, but presents deficiencies in the organization of information and communication skills.

4. H2CN/H2NC abundance ratio: a new potential temperature tracer for the interstellar medium

Abstract: The ${\rm H_2NC}$ radical is the high-energy metastable isomer of ${\rm H_2CN}$ radical, which has been recently detected for the first time in the interstellar medium towards a handful of cold galactic sources, besides a warm galaxy in front of the PKS 1830-211 quasar. These detections have shown that the ${\rm H_2CN}$/${\rm H_2NC}$ isomeric ratio, likewise the HCN/HNC ratio, might increase with the kinetic temperature ($T_{\rm kin}$), but the shortage of them in warm sources still prevents us to confirm this hypothesis and shed light about their chemistry. In this work, we present the first detection of ${\rm H_2CN}$ and ${\rm H_2NC}$ towards a warm galactic source, the G+0.693-0.027 molecular cloud (with $T_{\rm kin} > 70 \, {\rm K}$), using IRAM 30m observations. We have detected multiple hyperfine components of the $N_{K_\text{a}K_\text{c}} = 1_{01} - 0_{00}$ and $2_{02} - 1_{01}$ transitions. We derived molecular abundances with respect to ${\rm H_2}$ of (6.8$\pm$1.3)$\times 10^{-11}$ for ${\rm H_2CN}$ and of (3.1$\pm$0.7)$\times 10^{-11}$ for ${\rm H_2NC}$, and a ${\rm H_2CN}$/${\rm H_2NC}$ abundance ratio of 2.2$\pm$0.5. These detections confirm that the ${\rm H_2CN}$/${\rm H_2NC}$ ratio is $\gtrsim$2 for sources with $T_{\rm kin} > 70 \, {\rm K}$, larger than the $\sim$1 ratios previously found in colder cores ($T_{\rm kin}\sim10 \, {\rm K}$). This isomeric ratio dependence with temperature cannot be fully explained with the currently proposed gas-phase formation and destruction pathways. 5. A sequential acid-base (SAB) mechanism in the interstellar medium: The emergence of cis formic acid in dark molecular clouds

Abstract: The abundance ratios between isomers of a COM observed in the ISM provides valuable information about the chemistry and physics of the gas and eventually, the history of molecular clouds. In this context, the origin of an abundance of c-HCOOH acid of only 6% the isomer c-HCOOH abundance in cold cores, remains unknown. Herein, we explain the presence of c-HCOOH in dark molecular clouds through the destruction and back formation of c-HCOOH and t-HCOOH in a cyclic process that involves HCOOH and highly abundant molecules such as HCO+ and NH3. We use high-level ab initio methods to compute the potential energy profiles for the cyclic destruction/formation routes of c-HCOOH and t-HCOOH. Global rate constants and branching ratios were calculated based on the transition state theory and the master equation formalism under the typical conditions of the ISM. The destruction of HCOOH by reaction with HCO+ in the gas phase leads to three isomers of the cation HC(OH)2+. The most abundant cation can react in a second step with other abundant molecules of the ISM like NH3 to form back c-HCOOH and t-HCOOH. This mechanism explains the formation of c-HCOOH in dark molecular clouds. Considering this mechanism, the fraction of c-HCOOH with respect t-HCOOH is 25.7%. To explain the 6% reported by the observations we propose that further destruction mechanisms of the cations of HCOOH should be taken into account. The sequential acid-base (SAB) mechanism proposed in this work involves fast processes with very abundant molecules in the ISM. Thus, HCOOH very likely suffers our proposed transformations in the conditions of dark molecular clouds. This is a new approach in the framework of the isomerism of organic molecules in the ISM which has the potential to try to explain the ratio between isomers of organic molecules detected in the ISM.

Abstract: The isomerism of molecules in the interstellar medium and the mechanisms behind it are essential questions in the chemistry of organic molecules in space. In particular, for the simple formic and thioformic acids, the low temperatures found in molecular clouds indicate that cis-trans isomerization in the gas-phase must be impeded. Reactions happening on top of interstellar dust grains may explain the isomer interconversion at low temperatures. We studied the isomerization processes of formic and thioformic acid susceptible to happen on the surface of interstellar dust grains and initiated by H abstraction reactions. Similarly, deuterium enrichment of the acids can occur by the same mechanism. Abstract: We present the first detection of ($Z$)-1,2-ethenediol, (CHOH)$_2$, the enol form of glycolaldehyde, in the interstellar medium towards the G+0.693-0.027 molecular cloud located in the Galactic Center. We have derived a column density of (1.8$\pm$0.1)$\times$10$^{13}$ cm$^{-2}$, which translates into a molecular abundance with respect to molecular hydrogen of 1.3$\times$10$^{-10}$. The abundance ratio between glycolaldehyde and ($Z$)-1,2-ethenediol is $\sim$5.2. We discuss several viable formation routes through chemical reactions from precursors such as HCO, H$_2$CO, CHOH or CH$_2$CHOH. Abstract: We report the first detection of the phosphorus monoxide ion (PO$^{+}$) in the interstellar medium. Our unbiased and very sensitive spectral survey towards the G+0.693$-$0.027 molecular cloud covers four different rotational transitions of this molecule, two of which ($J$=1$-$0 and $J$=2$-$1) appear free of contamination from other species. The fit performed, assuming Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium conditions, yields a column density of $N$=(6.0$\pm$0.7)$\times$10$^{11}$ cm$^{-2}$. The resulting molecular abundance with respect to molecular hydrogen is 4.5$\times$10$^{-12}$. The column density of PO$^{+}$ normalised by the cosmic abundance of P is larger than those of NO$^{+}$ and SO$^{+}$, normalised by N and S, by factors of 3.6 and 2.3, respectively. The $N$(PO$^{+}$)/$N$(PO) ratio is 0.12$\pm$0.03, more than one order of magnitude higher than those of $N$(SO$^{+}$)/$N$(SO) and $N$(NO$^{+}$)/$N$(NO). These results indicate that P is more efficiently ionised in the ISM than N and S. We have performed new chemical models that confirm that the PO$^+$ abundance is strongly enhanced in shocked regions with high values of cosmic-ray ionisation rates (10$^{-15}-$10$^{-14}$ s$^{-1}$), as occurs in the G+0.693$-$0.027 molecular cloud. The shocks sputter the interstellar icy grain mantles, releasing into the gas phase most of their P content, mainly in the form of PH$_3$, which is converted into atomic P, and then ionised efficiently by cosmic rays, forming P$^+$. Further reactions with O$_2$ and OH produce PO$^{+}$. The cosmic-ray ionisation of PO might also contribute significantly, which would explain the high $N$(PO$^{+}$)/$N$(PO) observed. Abstract: Introducción: la calidad del sueño esta considera como un determinante de salud además de ser un indicador de una adecuada calidad de vida. El personal de enfermería que ejerce su labor asistencial mediante el trabajo a turnos para garantizar unos cuidados continuados a los pacientes, puede desarrollar una desincronización del sistema circadiano. Sin duda, esto perjudica de forma exponencial la salud del trabajador, causando problemas relacionados de forma directa en el patrón del sueño, alteraciones a nivel cognitivo, físico y emocional, empeorando, por tanto, su calidad de vida. Objetivo: analizar la calidad de sueño de los trabajadores del Complejo Asistencial Universitario de León pertenecientes al área de enfermería. Del mismo modo, se estudiará si la calidad de sueño se ve influenciada en relación al servicio de trabajo, la experiencia y la edad, así como conocer si el cronotipo depende del tipo de turno en el que se trabaja. Metodología: para el desarrollo del presente trabajo se han empleado dos tipos de metodología. Por un lado, un estudio descriptivo de carácter transversal, realizado con una muestra de 444 enfermeros (41,24 ± 11,60 años) que se encontraban activos en el Complejo Asistencial Universitario de León. Se analizó la calidad del sueño mediante el cuestionario validado de Pittsburgh atendiendo a las variables sociodemográficas y laborales. Además, se utilizó el cuestionario de Horne y Ösberg para evaluar la matutinidad o vespertinidad de dichos profesionales. Los datos estadísticos se analizaron mediante un test Chi2 de asociación entre variables categóricas, para determinar las diferencias entre los grupos se realizó el análisis de covarianza. Resultados: los resultados obtenidos muestran cómo la calidad del sueño es insuficiente para los/las enfermeros/-as con un índice de Pittsburgh de 8,66 ± 3,79. Los componentes más alterados son la latencia, con un 58,6 % como “mala” y “muy mala” y la duración del sueño resulta insuficiente, dado que un 58

Abstract: Nitriles play a key role as molecular precursors in prebiotic experiments based on the RNA-world scenario for the origin of life. These chemical compounds could have been partially delivered to the young Earth from extraterrestrial objects, stressing the importance of establishing the reservoir of nitriles in the interstellar medium. We report here the detection towards the molecular cloud G+0.693-0.027 of several nitriles, including cyanic acid (HOCN), and three C$_4$H$_3$N isomers (cyanoallene, CH$_2$CCHCN; propargyl cyanide, HCCCH$_2$CN; and cyanopropyne (CH$_3$CCCN), and the tentative detections of cyanoformaldehyde (HCOCN), and glycolonitrile (HOCH$_2$CN). We have also performed the first interstellar search of cyanoacetaldehyde (HCOCH$_2$CN), which was not detected. Based on the derived molecular abundances of the different nitriles in G+0.693-0.027 and other interstellar sources, we have discussed their formation mechanisms in the ISM. We propose that the observed HOCN abundance in G+0.693-0.027 is mainly due to surface chemistry and subsequent shock-induced desorption, while HCOCN might be mainly formed through gas-phase chemistry. In the case of HOCH$_2$CN, several grain-surface routes from abundant precursors could produce it. The derived abundances of the three C$_4$H$_3$N isomers in G+0.693-0.027 are very similar, and also similar to those previously reported in the dark cold cloud TMC-1. This suggests that the three isomers are likely formed through gas-phase chemistry from common precursors, possibly unsaturated hydrocarbons (CH$_3$CCH and CH$_2$CCH$_2$) that react with the cyanide radical (CN). The rich nitrile feedstock found towards G+0.693-0.027 confirms that interstellar chemistry is able to synthesize in space molecular species that could drive the prebiotic chemistry of the RNA-world., Comment: Accepted in Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences

Abstract: The isomerism of molecules in the interstellar medium and the mechanisms behind it are essential questions in the chemistry of organic molecules in space. In particular, for the simple formic and thioformic acids, the low temperatures found in molecular clouds indicate that cis-trans isomerization in the gas-phase must be impeded. Reactions happening on top of interstellar dust grains may explain the isomer interconversion at low temperatures. We studied the isomerization processes of formic and thioformic acid susceptible to happen on the surface of interstellar dust grains and initiated by H abstraction reactions. Similarly, deuterium enrichment of the acids can occur by the same mechanism. Abstract: We present the first detection of ($Z$)-1,2-ethenediol, (CHOH)$_2$, the enol form of glycolaldehyde, in the interstellar medium towards the G+0.693-0.027 molecular cloud located in the Galactic Center. We have derived a column density of (1.8$\pm$0.1)$\times$10$^{13}$ cm$^{-2}$, which translates into a molecular abundance with respect to molecular hydrogen of 1.3$\times$10$^{-10}$. The abundance ratio between glycolaldehyde and ($Z$)-1,2-ethenediol is $\sim$5.2. We discuss several viable formation routes through chemical reactions from precursors such as HCO, H$_2$CO, CHOH or CH$_2$CHOH. We also propose that this species might be an important precursor in the formation of glyceraldehyde (HOCH$_2$CHOHCHO) in the interstellar medium through combination with the hydroxymethylene (CHOH) radical., Comment: Accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal Letters

Abstract: We report the first detection of the phosphorus monoxide ion (PO$^{+}$) in the interstellar medium. Our unbiased and very sensitive spectral survey towards the G+0.693$-$0.027 molecular cloud covers four different rotational transitions of this molecule, two of which ($J$=1$-$0 and $J$=2$-$1) appear free of contamination from other species. The fit performed, assuming Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium conditions, yields a column density of $N$=(6.0$\pm$0.7)$\times$10$^{11}$ cm$^{-2}$. The resulting molecular abundance with respect to molecular hydrogen is 4.5$\times$10$^{-12}$. The column density of PO$^{+}$ normalised by the cosmic abundance of P is larger than those of NO$^{+}$ and SO$^{+}$, normalised by N and S, by factors of 3.6 and 2.3, respectively. The $N$(PO$^{+}$)/$N$(PO) ratio is 0.12$\pm$0.03, more than one order of magnitude higher than those of $N$(SO$^{+}$)/$N$(SO) and $N$(NO$^{+}$)/$N$(NO). These results indicate that P is more efficiently ionised in the ISM than N and S. We have performed new chemical models that confirm that the PO$^+$ abundance is strongly enhanced in shocked regions with high values of cosmic-ray ionisation rates (10$^{-15}-$10$^{-14}$ s$^{-1}$), as occurs in the G+0.693$-$0.027 molecular cloud. The shocks sputter the interstellar icy grain mantles, releasing into the gas phase most of their P content, mainly in the form of PH$_3$, which is converted into atomic P, and then ionised efficiently by cosmic rays, forming P$^+$. Further reactions with O$_2$ and OH produce PO$^{+}$. The cosmic-ray ionisation of PO might also contribute significantly, which would explain the high $N$(PO$^{+}$)/$N$(PO) observed. Abstract: With the presence of evermore complex S-bearing molecules being detected lately, studies on their chemical formation routes need to keep up the pace to rationalize observations, suggest new candidates for detection, and provide input for chemical evolution models. In this paper, we theoretically characterize the hydrogenation channels of OCS on top of amorphous solid water as an interstellar dust grain analog in molecular clouds. Our results show that the significant reaction outcome is trans-HC(O)SH, a recently detected prebiotic molecule toward G+0.693. The reaction is diastereoselective, explaining the seemingly absence of the cis isomer in the astronomical observations. Abstract: In recent years, phosphorus monoxide (PO) -- an important molecule for prebiotic chemistry -- has been detected in star-forming regions and in the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. These studies have revealed that, in the interstellar medium, PO is systematically the most abundant P-bearing species, with abundances that are $\sim$1-3 times greater than those derived for phosphorus nitride (PN), the second most abundant P-containing molecule. The reason why PO is more abundant than PN remains still unclear. Experimental studies with phosphorus in the gas phase are not available, probably because of the difficulties in dealing with its compounds. Therefore, the reactivity of atomic phosphorus needs to be investigated using reliable computational tools. To this end, state-of-the-art quantum-chemical computations have been employed to evaluate accurate reaction rates and branching ratios for the P + OH $\rightarrow$ PO + H and P + H$_2$O $\rightarrow$ PO + H$_2$ reactions in the framework of a master equation approach based on ab-initio transition state theory. The hypothesis that OH and H${_2}$O can be potential oxidizing agents of atomic phosphorus is based on the ubiquitous presence of H${_2}$O in the ISM. Its destruction then produces OH, which is another very abundant species. While the reaction of atomic phosphorus in its gound state with water is not a relevant source of PO because of emerged energy barriers, the P + OH reaction represents an important formation route of PO in the interstellar medium. Our kinetic results show that this reaction follow an Arrhenius behavior, and thus its rate coefficients alpha=2.28$\times$10$^{-10}$ cm${^3}$ molecule$^{-1}$ s$^{-1}$, beta=0.16 and gamma=0.37 K increase by increasing the temperature., Comment: 21 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: La capsulitis adhesiva es una de las principales causas de hombro doloroso, causando además una gran limitación funcional, con reducción de la movilidad tanto activa como pasiva, que conlleva un gran deterioro de la calidad de vida de los pacientes. A pesar de ser una enfermedad que tiende a la resolución por sí sola, provoca gran incapacidad, y su duración puede ser desde 6 meses a 5 años, por lo que a lo largo del tiempo se han propuesto múltiples tratamientos para ella, desde movilizaciones, fisioterapia, infiltraciones hasta cirugía, pasando por múltiples técnicas como hidrodilatación u ondas de choque extracorpóreas. En este trabajo se recopilan los posibles tratamientos no quirúrgicos de la capsulitis adhesiva y sus resultados, A capsulite adhesiva é unha das principais causas de ombreiro doloroso, causando ademáis unha gran limitación funcional, con reducción da movilidade tanto activa como pasiva, o que supón un gran deterioro na calidade de vida dos pacientes. Malia ser unha enfermidade que tende á resolución por si mesma, provoca unha gran incapacidade, e a súa duración pode ir dende os 6 meses ata os 5 anos, polo que ao longo do tempo se propuxeron múltiples tratamentos para ela, dende movilizacións, fisioterapia, infiltracións ata cirurxía, pasando por múltiples técnicas como hidrodilatación ou ondas de choque extracorpóreas. Neste traballo recopílanse os posibles tratamentos non cirúrxicos da capsulite adhesiva e os seus resultados, Adhesive capsulitis is one of the main causes of painful shoulder, also causing a great functional limitation, with reduction of both active and passive range of motion, which leads to a great deterioration in patients’ quality of life. Despite being a disease that tends to resolve on its own, it causes great disability, and its duration can go from 6 months to 5 years, so that multiple treatments have been proposed for it, from mobilizations, physiotherapy, infiltrations to surgery, and multiple techniques such as hydrodilation or extracorporeal shock waves. 26. The origin of the E/Z isomer ratio of imines in the interstellar medium

Abstract: Recent astronomical observations of both isomers E and Z of imines such as cyanomethanimine, ethanimine and 2-propyn-1-imine, have revealed that the abundances in the ISM of these isomers differ by factors of ~3-10. Several theories have been proposed to explain the observed behavior, but none of them successfully explains the [E]/[Z] ratios. In this work we present a detailed study of the kinetics of the one-step E-Z isomerization reactions of cyanomethanimine, ethanimine and 2-propyn-1-imine under interstellar conditions (in the 10-400 K temperature range). This reaction was previously thought to be non-viable in the ISM due to its associated high-energy barrier (about 13,000 K). In this Letter, we show that considering the multidimensional small curvature tunneling approximation, the tunneling effect enables the isomerization even at low temperatures. This is due to the fact that the representative tunneling energy lies in the vibrational ground state of the least stable isomer up to approximately 150 K, making the reaction constants of the isomerization from the least stable to the most stable isomer basically constant. The predicted [E]/[Z] ratios are almost the same as those reported from the astronomical observations for all imines observed. This study demonstrates that the [E]/[Z] ratio of imines in the ISM strongly depends on their relative stability., Comment: 13 pages, 2 figures

Abstract: The existing global digital divide between the different geographic areas, leads to almost half of the world’s population lacking access to a reliable Internet connection. OneWeb, a global telecommunications company, aims to deploy an initial constellation of 648 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) to provide high-speed and low-latency connectivity to governments, businesses and communities around the world. Therefore, this thesis focuses on the study of the benefits provided by this orbit in the telecommunications field, for the subsequent analysis and development of OneWeb’s business model, by means of the CANVAS methodology. This project is integrated within the DISCOVERER framework, a European project dedicated to the research of innovative technologies for its application in the lowest orbits (VLEO), in which UPC is involved focusing on the market analysis to solve the existing market challenge.

Abstract: The French city of Nantes and its metropolitan area constitute a global epicentre in matters of public art, which could also play a referential role in the distinction between ‘participatory’ and ‘collaborative’ art, two adjectives needing a social and terminological disambiguation. Here they are exemplified on the one hand with singular sculptural-architectural installations made by international artists with the participation of local people, and on the other hand with compounded murals of Street art painted in co-laborative association by collectives of artists with art students, etc., La ciudad francesa de Nantes y su área metropolitana son reconocido epicentro mundial en cuestiones de arte público, pero también puede buscarse allí un referente en la distinción entre arte “participativo” y “colaborativo”, dos adjetivos entre los que cabe una diferenciación tanto social como terminológica. Aquí se ejemplifican por un lado con singulares instalaciones escultórico-arquitectónicas realizadas por artistas internacionales con la participación de la gente local, y con plurales murales de arte urbano pintados en co-laboración por colectivos de artistas, estudiantes de arte, etc.

31. Proyecto de explotación y construcción de un cebadero en sistema intensivo para 80 vacas de desvieje de una explotación lechera en Talavera de la Reina (Toledo)

Abstract: El objeto del proyecto consiste en la construcción y explotación de un cebadero de vacas de desvieje en sistema intensivo para una explotación lechera sita en Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), también se expone el manejo más adecuado de la explotación. La explotación donde se realiza el proyecto desarrolla una actividad lechera y cuenta con pozo para abastecimiento de agua, luz, almacén de paja y heno, silo “trinchera”, maquinaria, servicio, vestuarios, estercolero y cultivos, destacando la alfalfa y el maíz, la propia explotación elabora silo de maíz y heno de alfalfa que se incluyen en la dieta de los animales además de pienso y paja. Debido a que el pienso para animales de fin lechero contiene diferencias nutritivas respecto al de cebo, se instalará un silo para pienso en la nave de cebo. El promotor es un ganadero y agricultor de Talavera de la Reina que pretende cebar animales propios, donde se reponen entre 15 y 20 vacas anuales de raza Frisona y otras vacas que se adquirirán de explotaciones vecinas, dada la abundante actividad ganadera y que cuentan con vacas mixtas y Frisonas. Las explotaciones vecinas reponen entre 55 y 60 vacas anuales. El proceso de cebo comienza con vacas de entre 580-650 kilos y se finaliza cuando alcanzan un peso en torno a los 800-850 kilos se venderá directamente a una empresa cárnica local que cuenta con matadero propio. La explotación cuenta con un programa sanitario propio y busca un absoluto cuidado de los animales, asegurando su bienestar. Dado que la explotación cuenta como se dijo antes con varias instalaciones para realizar el proceso productivo, se procederá a la construcción del cebadero.

Abstract: Background: The frequency of late-onset Huntington's disease (>59 years) is assumed to be low and the clinical course milder. However, previous literature on late-onset disease is scarce and inconclusive. Objective: Our aim is to study clinical characteristics of late-onset compared to common-onset HD patients in a large cohort of HD patients from the Registry database. Methods: Participants with late- and common-onset (30–50 years)were compared for first clinical symptoms, disease progression, CAG repeat size and family history. Participants with a missing CAG repeat size, a repeat size of ≤35 or a UHDRS motor score of ≤5 were excluded. Results: Of 6007 eligible participants, 687 had late-onset (11.4%) and 3216 (53.5%) common-onset HD. Late-onset (n = 577) had significantly more gait and balance problems as first symptom compared to common-onset (n = 2408) (P <.001). Overall motor and cognitive performance (P <.001) were worse, however only disease motor progression was slower (coefficient, −0.58; SE 0.16; P <.001) compared to the common-onset group. Repeat size was significantly lower in the late-onset (n = 40.8; SD 1.6) compared to common-onset (n = 44.4; SD 2.8) (P <.001). Fewer late-onset patients (n = 451) had a positive family history compared to common-onset (n = 2940) (P <.001). Conclusions: Late-onset patients present more frequently with gait and balance problems as first symptom, and disease progression is not milder compared to common-onset HD patients apart from motor progression. The family history is likely to be negative, which might make diagnosing HD more difficult in this population. However, the balance and gait problems might be helpful in diagnosing HD in elderly patients.

35. BM roadmapping approach: overcoming the barriers for the implementation of Lead Time Based Pricing

Abstract: This research explores the factors that challenge the implementation of Revenue Management (RM) in manufacturing industries. Previous research focused mainly on Order Management to explain how RM could be applied with studies that are mathematical by nature. However, there is no empirical study explaining the implementation process of RM in manufacturing industries. This research adopts a differential approach and methodology which aims at filling the existing implementation gap. First, to avoid vagueness, the research proposes Lead Time based Pricing as the specific RM strategy to pursue. Then, the research focuses on creating a roadmap for the RM implementation. In order to create such roadmap, the research focuses on the field of Business Model Innovation (BMI). In this field, the research describes the BM ontology and BM roadmapping, tools which will be used for constructing the roadmap. It proposes to combines BM roadmapping with the BMI process to help facilitating the task of roadmapping and finally, upon the discovery issues hindering the real implementation of RM, the research identifies BMI barriers which are, afterwards, compared with the data collected to confirm its significance on the RM (specifically LTBP) case. With the assistance of Infineon Technologies, a semiconductor manufacturer, the research approach chosen is an instrumental case study with semi-structured interviews as a data collection methodology. The data is quoted, codified and analyzed with Atlas.ti 8.0 and the information is useful to pursue the realization of the BM roadmapping, giving answer to the main research question of this research., Management of Technology (MoT)

Abstract: Background: People with Huntington's disease (HD) have been observed to have lower rates of cancers. Objective: To investigate the relationship between age of onset of HD, CAG repeat length, and cancer diagnosis. Methods: Data were obtained from the European Huntington's disease network REGISTRY study for 6540 subjects. Population cancer incidence was ascertained from the GLOBOCAN database to obtain standardised incidence ratios of cancers in the REGISTRY subjects. Results: 173/6528 HD REGISTRY subjects had had a cancer diagnosis. The age-standardised incidence rate of all cancers in the REGISTRY HD population was 0.26 (CI 0.22-0.30). Individual cancers showed a lower age-standardised incidence rate compared with the control population with prostate and colorectal cancers showing the lowest rates. There was no effect of CAG length on the likelihood of cancer, but a cancer diagnosis within the last year was associated with a greatly increased rate of HD onset (Hazard Ratio 18.94, p < 0.001). Conclusions: Cancer is less common than expected in the HD population, confirming previous reports. However, this does not appear to be related to CAG length in HTT. A recent diagnosis of cancer increases the risk of HD onset at any age, likely due to increased investigation following a cancer diagnosis.

Abstract: The proliferation of the Children’s Literature novels by Diana Wynne Jones has converted her into a prominent figure in the fantastic genre. Although several scholars have researched diverse aspects of Jones’s narratives, there may still be approaches to adopt. Thus, the aim of this dissertation is to analyse the book Howl’s Moving Castle (1986) by the abovementioned author and examine the protagonist Sophie’s transition from having a self-imposed personality to finding her true identity. To that end, we will firstly examine the biography of the author. Secondly, we will briefly explain the categorisation of Fantasy, followed by a contextualisation of this literary genre in the second half of the 20th century in comparison with Jones’s own standpoint as an avant-garde writer. Thirdly, we will focus on the aforesaid novel in relation to the importance of names, the opposition of fate and free will, and finally, Sophie’s search of her original identity. Lastly, we will provide a summary of the main conclusions we have previously come to regarding the entire journey.

Abstract: [EN] The role of infrastructures in boosting the economic growth of the regions is widely recognized. In many cases, an infrastructure is selected by subjective reasons. Selection of the optimal infrastructure for sustainable economic development of a region should be based on objective and founded reasons, not only economical, but also environmental and social. In this paper is developed such selection through a hybrid method based on Delphi, analytical hierarchy process (AHP), and VIKOR (from Serbian, VIseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje). To do this, a panel of experts assesses both the infrastructures and the drivers for their selection. The method lets us to verify the consistency of answers from experts. In our case, AHP obtains preference values for each infrastructure using the eigenvector method. Meanwhile, the VIKOR method evaluates whether the proposed is the one that best fits the prevailing view, minimizing the regret to the most separate opinions. Thus, for La Costera (Spain), the region under study, this research work concludes that the thematic route is the optimal infrastructure., [ES] El papel de las infraestructuras en el impulso del crecimiento económico de las regiones es ampliamente reconocido. En muchos casos, una infraestructura es seleccionada por razones subjetivas. La selección de la infraestructura óptima para el desarrollo sostenible de una región debería basarse en razones objetivas y justificadas, y no sólo económicas, sino también ambientales y sociales. En esta tesis doctoral se desarrolla tal selección a través de un método híbrido basado en Delphi, el Proceso Analítico Jerárquico (AHP) y VIKOR (del serbio, VIseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje). Para ello, un panel de expertos evalúa tanto las infraestructuras como los criterios para su selección. El método permite verificar la consistencia de las respuestas de los expertos. En nuestro caso, AHP proporciona valores de preferencia para cada infraestructura usando el método del autovector. Por su parte, el método VIKOR evalúa si la infraestructura propuesta es la que mejor se ajusta a la opinión predominante, minimizando la pena de las opiniones más divergentes. 46. Influence of portal vein/superior mesenteric vein resection on morbility, mortality and survival of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in the Balearic Islands

Abstract: Introduction: Recent developments have enabled associate to standard pancreaticoduodenectomy (DPC), vascular resections to increase resectability in pancreatic cancer. Objectives: Analyze morbidity, mortality and survival of a consecutive series of patients with pancreatic cancer, in which a DPC with portal vein resection was performed, and compared it with a group of patients with standard DPC without venous resection. Methodology: Consecutive series of 67 patients who underwent a DPC ought to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, between January 2005 and January 2015. Results: Standard resection (RV-) was performed in 49 cases, and a venous resection in another 18 patients (RV+). There were no significant differences in age (65 vs 68.9 years), ASA, or intraoperative transfusion. Duration of intervention was significantly lower in the RV- group (6.1 vs 6.7; p = 0.05). Morbidity grade III -IV was 14.2 % Clavien in the RV- group and 16.6 % in the RV + group (p = 0.87). There were no differences in hospital mortality (0 % vs 5.5%), or hospital stay (14.4 vs 15.2 days). The surgical margin involvement was more frequent in the RV+ group (18 % vs 50 % ; p = 0.003). One, 3 and 5 years survival was 77, 34 and 11% in the RV- group and 92, 23 and 8% in the group with venous resection. Conclusions: DPC with venous resection can be performed with morbidity and mortality rates similar to standard DPC1. Survival shows no significant difference between the two groups.Venous resection may increase resectability in a selected group of patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma., Introducción: Los progresos recientes han permitido asociar a la duodenopancreatectomía cefálica estándar (DPC), resecciones vasculares para incrementar la resecabilidad en el cáncer de páncreas. Objetivos: Analizar la morbi-mortalidad y supervivencia de una serie consecutiva de pacientes con cáncer de páncreas, en los que se realizó una DPC con resección de vena porta y compararla con un grupo de pacientes con DPC estándar sin resección venosa. Material y métodos: Serie consecutiva de 67 pacientes intervenidos con adenocarcinoma ductal de páncreas, entre enero 2005 y enero 2015. Resultados: En 49 casos se realizó una resección estándar (RV-) y en 18 pacientes, una resección venosa (RV+). No hubo diferencias significativas en la edad (65 vs 68,9 años), ASA, ni en la transfusión intraoperatoria. La duración de la intervención fue significativamente menor en el grupo RV- (6,1 vs 6,7; p= 0,05). La morbilidad grado III-IV de Clavien fue del 14,2% en el grupo RV- y del 16,6% en el grupo RV+ (p=0,87). No hubo diferencias en la mortalidad hospitalaria (0% vs 5,5%), ni en la estancia hospitalaria (14,4 vs 15,2 días). La afectación del margen quirúrgico fue más frecuente en el grupo RV+ (18% vs 50%; p=0,003). La supervivencia al año, 3 y 5 años fue del 77, 34 y 11% en el grupo RV-,y del 92, 23 y 8% en el grupo con resección venosa. Conclusiones: La DPC con resección venosa puede realizarse con tasas de morbi-mortalidad similares a la DPC estándar. La supervivencia no muestra diferencias significativas entre los dos grupos. La resección venosa puede aumentar la resecabilidad en un grupo seleccionado de pacientes con adenocarcinoma de páncreas.

47. Numerical simulation of the ALBA’s synchrotron cooling system response to pump start-up and shut-down

Abstract: This project consists of the development and validation of a numerical model to simulate transient responses of the ALBA’s synchrotron cooling system. In particular, the work aims at studying the pumping system start-up and stop in order to detect possible problems that can lead to piping failures. The project focus on the hydrodynamic response of the cooling system, which is part of the activities integrated in a stability and reliability plan promoted by CELLS (Consortium for the Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Laboratory). Flowmaster is the 1D thermo-fluid simulation software that has been used to model the cooling system to detect dangerous pressure peaks and flow oscillations when operation conditions of the pumping stations are suddenly changed. The first part of this project has been involved in learning and familiarizing with Flowmaster program in order to perform correctly the simulations. Simple models have been designed to understand and learn the properties and the response influence of the components and model set-up. The second part has involved the simulations of the actual cooling system. A model available from preliminary studies has been modified to take into account compressibility effects by replacing and adding the adequate components. In addition, it has also been necessary to create scripts and to introduce and make changes in the PID controllers in order to simulate the real ALBA synchrotron pumping system startup/stop procedures. The normal start-up maneuver of the pumping system has been simulated and the fluid dynamic response has been analyzed. The results indicate the generation of significant pressure rises. To mitigate them, changes to the PID controller parameters have been proposed that improve the transient behavior reducing such peaks. The simulation and analysis of pumps’ shutdowns due to unexpected failures has served to identify the consequences on the system behavior and to prevent possible life-reduction conditions. Th

Abstract: The inductive method has shown to be a good method for the estimation of fiber dosage in steel-fiber-reinforced concrete. The current formulations reported a strong correlation between inductance and fiber content, as well as orientation. The objective of this paper is to study how the inductive measurements are affected by fiber properties, such as its dimensions, magnetic characteristics, and sample temperature. The results obtained from numerical, simulated, and experimental data propose a shape factor to be applied in the measurements to take into account the aspect ratio of fibers. They also show that the magnetic composition of the fibers is of great importance. As for temperature, the error introduced is less than 1%, so a corrective factor is not essential., Peer Reviewed, Postprint (author's final draft)

49. Medición del valor de marca mediante el modelo Aaker: el caso de Paco & Lola

Abstract: [Resumen]: Las marcas comerciales son el activo intangible más valioso de las empresas y, por tanto, éstas deben crear marcas valiosas y gestionarlas a lo largo del tiempo para aumentar su valor. En este punto, se puede plantear ¿qué valor tiene para los consumidores una marca determinada?. En este contexto, el propósito de este trabajo es abordar de forma teórica y práctica el concepto de valor de marca. Para comenzar, se desarrollan los fundamentos teóricos y las principales variables que influyen en el concepto de valor de marca, según los autores más importantes del área, centrándose especialmente en los trabajos de Aaker. A continuación, se analizan las características teóricas del modelo de Brand Equity, para realizar una investigación que permitirá conocer el valor que los consumidores otorgan a la marca de un producto vitivinícola, más concretamente el vino de la marca Paco & Lola. Se ha escogido esta marca, propiedad de una bodega gallega, debido a su imagen y envase innovador y llamativo. Como parte de la investigación, se ha realizado un pequeño estudio, mediante una encuesta a consumidores gallegos, para conocer y analizar cuales son las variables más influyentes en el valor de dicha marca, siguiendo el modelo de Brand Equity, propuesto por Aaker. A este modelo se ha incorporado una variable adicional, la Denominación de Origen del vino, por entender que puede influir positivamente en el valor de marca analizada. Los resultados obtenidos, señalan que el modelo de valor de marca propuesto por Aaker se cumple para la marca de vino Paco & Lola, dado que todas las variables analizadas muestran una influencia positiva en el valor de la marca, siendo la variable imagen de marca la más influyente y mostrando la notoriedad una influencia distinta a la esperada. Finalmente, los resultados no permiten afirmar la influencia de la Denominación de Origen en el valor de la marca de vino analizada., [Abstract]: Trademarks are the most valuable intangible asset of companies and, therefore, they must create valuable brands and manage them over time to increase its value. At this point, you can ask what is the value of a certain brand for the consumers ? In this context, the purpose of this paper is to address theoretically and practically the concept of brand value. To begin, develop the theoretical basis/foundations and the main variables that influence the concept of brand value, according to the most important authors of the area, focusing especially on the works of Aaker. Then, the theoretical characteristics of the model of Brand Equity, to carry out research that will allow to know the value that consumers give to the brand of a wine-making product, specifically/in particular wine Paco&Lola brand. This brand was chosen, owned by a Galician winery, due to an innovative and eye-catching image and packaging. As part of the research, it has been done a small study, through a survey of Galician consumers, to understand and analyze what are the most influential variables in the brand value, following the model of Brand Equity, proposed by Aaker. This model has incorporated and additional variable, the designation of origin of the wine, because it can positively influence the value of brand analyzed. The results obtained, point out that the model of brand value proposed by Aaker is true for the wine Paco& Lola, considering that all the variables analyzed show a positive influence on the value of the brand. The most influential variable is the brand image and the notoriety variable shows an influence different from expected. Finally, the results do not allow to assert the influence of the designation of origin in the analyzed wine brand value.

Abstract: Las micotoxinas son metabolitos secundarios producidos por hongos del genero Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium y Alternaria. Las micotoxinas más abundantes son aflatoxinas (Aspergillus), ocratoxina A (Penicillium), fumonisinas, zearalenona, deoxinivalenol (Fusarium) y alternariol (Alternaria). De las especies de Alternaria, A. alternata es la especie productora más importante de micotoxinas. Todas están consideradas como contaminantes tóxicos que están presentes en alimentos de consumo diario. Esta revisión se centra en estudios in vitro relacionados con la respuesta y citotoxicidad a la micotoxina de Alternaria, alternariol (AOH). Para ello, se ha realizado una búsqueda bibliográfica de los artículos de AOH disponible en bases de datos como: Pubmed, Scopus, Science Direct y Current Contents en los últimos catorce años. Así pues, el objetivo de la revisión bibliográfica es evaluar los efectos de AOH investigados mediante ensayos in vitro., Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by genera fungus of: Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium and Alternaria. The most frequent mycotoxins are: aflatoxins (Aspergillus), ochratoxin A (Penicillium), fumonisins, zearalenone, deoxynivalenol (Fusarium) and alternariol (Alternaria). Among all Alternaria spp, A. Alternata is the most producer mycotoxin. All mycotoxins are considered toxic contaminants present in food of daily consumption. This review is based on in vitro studies where response and toxicity in cells of Alternaria mycotoxin, alternariol (AOH) have been carried out. In this sense a bibliographic search of AOH papers available in on-line data bases such as: Pubmed, Scopus, Science Direct and Current Contents in the last fourteen years, have been collected. The main objective of this bibliographic review is to evaluate the AOH effects detected in in vitro assays.
