Aquest treball de final de grau és de modalitat B, està fet a l'empresa ITeC (Institut de Tecnologia de la Construcció). Aquest projecte neix amb la idea de l'ITeC de renovar les aplicacions d'Angular JS al nou Angular 2+. D'aquesta manera es vol renovar una llibreria frontend anomenada 'Guicomponents' que passa a ser anomenada 'Guicomponents Angular 2+'. A més aquest TFG també conté tasques relacionades amb una nova aplicació de l'ITeC anomenada Mantenim Circular, en aquesta aplicació es proven gran part dels components fets en aquest TFG de la llibreria 'Guicomponents Angular 2+'., In this document you can find the report of the final degree work carried out at the Faculty of Informatics of Barcelona, ¿¿belonging to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. This final degree work is of mode B, it is made at the company ITeC (Institut de Tecnologia de la Construcció). This project was born from the idea of the ITeC to renew Angular JS applications in the new Angular 2+. In this way, we want to renew a frontend library called 'Guicomponents' which happens to be called 'Guicomponents Angular 2+'. In addition, this TFG also contains tasks related to a new ITeC application called Mantenim Circular, in this application a large part of the components made in this TFG from the 'Guicomponents Angular 2+' library are tested.

Este proyecto, desarrollado en un convenio de prácticas de empresa, trata sobre la creación de un sistema interno para mejorar la productividad de los equipos de desarrollo. El objetivo es proporcionar arquetipos, estructuras base de archivos, que agilizan y simplifican la creación de nuevos componentes para sus proyectos centrados en microservicios. Como lenguaje de programación se ha usado Java, junto con frameworks como Spring y plataformas de servicio como AWS, además de la adaptación de metodologías ágiles para el seguimiento del proyecto., This project, developed in an internship agreement, is about creating an internal system to improve the productivity of development teams. The goal is to provide archetypes, base file structures, that accelerate and simplify the creation of new components for their projects focused on microservices. As a programming language we have used Java, along with frameworks such as Spring and service platforms such as AWS, in addition to the adaptation of agile methodologies for project management.

El desenvolupament d'aquest projecte té lloc a l'empresa ITeC, amb la finalitat de millorar l'eficiència de l'aplicació web de Pressupost i Seguiment. Aquesta aplicació, integrada dins del programa TCQi, representa la versió en línia d'un producte previ de l'empresa, que encara experimentava problemes de rendiment. Per abordar aquesta qüestió, aquest projecte optimitza diverses funcionalitats, com ara la càrrega de línies i la creació de nivells, amb l'objectiu de satisfer eficientment les necessitats dels usuaris i clients., This work culminates the studies of the degree in computer engineering at the Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. The main objective is to broadly apply the knowledge acquired during the degree and put into practice the skills acquired. The development of this project takes place in the company ITeC, with the aim of improving the efficiency of the Budget and Monitoring web application. This application, integrated within the TCQi programme, represents the online version of a previous product of the company, which was still experiencing performance problems. To address this issue, this project optimises various functionalities, such as the loading of lines and the creation of levels, in order to efficiently meet the needs of users and customers.

El proyecto "Desarrollo del módulo de Mantenim Circular de la aplicación TCQi" es un trabajo final de grado en Ingeniería del Software en colaboración con el Instituto de Tecnología de la Construcción (ITeC). En respuesta al creciente auge de plataformas de compraventa de segunda mano y la creciente preocupación por el medio ambiente, se presenta la plataforma "Mantenim Circular", una plataforma integrada en TCQi que se centra en la gestión eficiente de elementos residuales u obsoletos a lo largo del ciclo de vida de los proyectos constructivos. "Mantenim Circular" tiene como objetivo prolongar la vida útil de materiales y productos, reduciendo la generación de residuos y promoviendo prácticas responsables. Este enfoque alinea el proyecto con la creciente conciencia ambiental y sostenible, fomentando el uso de la economía circular en el sector de la construcción., The project "Desarrollo del módulo de Mantenim Circular de la aplicación TCQi" is a final project of degree in Software Engineering in collaboration with the Institute of Construction Technology (ITeC). In response to the growing boom of second-hand sales platforms and growing concern for the environment, the "Mantenim Circular" platform is presented, a platform integrated into TCQi that focuses on the efficient management of residual or obsolete elements throughout the life cycle of construction projects. "Mantenim Circular" aims to extend the lifespan of materials and products, reducing waste generation and promoting responsible practices. This approach aligns the project with the growing environmental and sustainable awareness, promoting the use of the circular economy in the construction sector.

Context - In the fast-paced world of software development, understanding and tracking contributions within project teams is crucial for efficient project management and collaboration. Git, a popular Version Control System, facilitates collaboration but lacks comprehensive tools for analyzing individual contributions in detail. Objective - This thesis proposes an approach to classify and analyze Git commit messages and the associated file paths of the changed files in the commits, using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, aiming to improve project transparency and contributor recognition. Method - By employing Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) models, an NLP technique, this study categorizes data from multiple collected Git repositories. A tool named DevAnalyzer is developed to automate the classification and analysis process, enhancing the understanding of contribution patterns. Results - The Git commit message model demonstrated high accuracy with an average of 98.9%, and the file path model showed robust performance with an average accuracy of 99.8%. Thereby, both models provided detailed insights into the types and locations of contributions within projects. Conclusions - The findings validate the effectiveness of using BERT models for classifying and categorizing both Git commit messages and file paths with the DevAnalyzer. This approach provides a more comprehensive understanding of contributions, benefiting project management and team collaboration.

The integration of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code within the context of continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines represents a significant challenge in software and infrastructure deployment, particularly in public cloud environments. This thesis provides a comprehensive analysis and investigates how such integrations in Amazon Web Services can improve deployment efficiency, reliability in software and infrastructure delivery, and security while addressing the gaps in the existing Development and Operations (DevOps) practices. The problem is that, in public cloud platforms, the complexity of deploying infrastructure using automated pipelines often results in a lack of version control, inefficiency or security loopholes. GitOps concepts and Infrastructure as Code principles have facilitated ease of deployment for applications and infrastructure, but there is still room for improvement in understanding their effects when combined with automated pipelines. This gap delays the optimization of best practices in deployment strategies and the full potential of infrastructure deployment processes in the public cloud, making it an essential area for academic research. This thesis utilizes a systematic approach, implementing a controlled GitOps environment using GitLab and Amazon Web Services that integrate GitOps concepts and Infrastructure as Code principles with Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) practices. This thesis analyzes the effects of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code on deployment efficiency and reliability through automated pipelines built on GitLab and provides best practices for improving efficiency, reliability, and security. These findings offer significant insights for organizations to refine their software development and infrastructure deployment practices. Node.js was introduced in 2009 by Ryan Dahl and is an open-source runtime designed for creating websites and applications, featuring an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model. Despite having a solid ecosystem and enterprise adoption while offering strength inscalability, it struggles with challenges like CPU-bound tasks and database integration issues. This research will provide an in-depth analysis of the adoption, maturation, and potential decline of various Node.js frameworks over the past decade(Tilkov & Vinoski, 2010). This thesis explores the developmental changes in Node.js frameworks, identifying the components of their popularity and the factors that could contribute to their decline over time. A mixed-method approach was employed, integrating quantitative data analysis with qualitative insights from the developer community. The results indicate several key factors that have contributed to the adoption and maturation of Node.js frameworks, including frequent updates, strong community involvement, and widespread application in the industry (Izquierdo & Cabot, 2012; Jadhav & Gonsalves,2020). Challenges identified include inconsistent update practices and security vulnerabilities, which may contribute to the decline of certain frameworks. The study concludes that a deep understanding of these dynamics is required for developers and stakeholders to effectively navigate the evolving landscape of Node.js technologies, which is supported by recent research on software framework sustainability (Mujahid et al., 2023; Sanei & Cheng, 2023).

Open Source developers typically use Git repositories to transparently store the source code of projects and contribute to the code of others. There are millions of repositories actively hosted on platforms such as GitHub. This presents an opportunity for sharing knowledge between related projects – the so-called digital siblings. Finding repositories similar to one's own can allow for better developer collaboration and knowledge transfer. However, due to the large volume of projects, manually locating digital siblings of a project can be difficult. Hence, this paper proposes a novel approach, based on the dependency structures of GitHub repositories, that allows for calculating inter-repository similarity and subsequently querying for similar projects. We aim to answer the research question: How can the dependency structures of GitHub repositories be leveraged to find their digital siblings? This research includes an empirical evaluation of various similarity metrics and clustering techniques for GitHub repositories. Our results show that dependency structures are a reliable characteristic for measuring similarity between projects. We also identify the specific metrics and clustering techniques as particularly efficient. Lastly, we propose and evaluate a composable similarity metric to allow our findings to be combined with the research of the other Research Project group members., CSE3000 Research Project, Computer Science and Engineering

Code formatting has the potential to keep an organisation's code formatted consistently, leading to improved readability and maintainability. However, the adoption of code formatters on existing codebases is often hindered by concerns about the potential loss of per-line version history, which is essential for reviewers. During a code review, a reviewer would use the per-line version history to find the last author to modify a particular section of code, a practice commonly known as blaming. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to explore strategies for formatting source code while preserving the information stored in the version history. This will be followed by an in-depth study designed to better understand the effectiveness of code formatters in preserving developer intent in code. By striking a balance between code readability and preservation of historical context, this research will facilitate the widespread use of code formatters, ultimately improving code quality and developer productivity.

En este trabajo de fin de máster (TFM), se presenta una aplicación móvil para el cuidado de mascotas que permitirá a los dueños mantenerse al día sobre la salud de su mascota, teniendo recordatorios de sus vacunas, citas, etc. La aplicación ofrece una variedad de funcionalidades que ayudarán a los dueños a proporcionar a sus mascotas la mejor atención posible y tener a disposición contacto con su veterinario.

In today’s digital landscape, maintaining the integrity of source code is crucial for delivering reliable and trustworthy software solutions. However, the increasing prevalence of attacks targeting source code repositories and version control systems (VCSs) poses significant challenges to source code integrity. Unauthorized access to source code repositories can lead to various security risks, including the introduction of malicious code or unauthorized approvals for pull requests. Security measures implemented on the remote server hosting the repository are typically insufficient to detect these types of attacks, resulting in changes potentially remaining undetected and becoming part of the deployed artifact. To address those issues, this study proposes GitBark, a framework that employs cryptographic methods to verify the integrity of a source code repository. GitBark achieves this by enforcing rules and policies on the commits made to the repository. Specifically, the study demonstrates that by formulating rules that utilize digital signatures, GitBark can effectively identify unauthorized changes and approvals. Moreover, GitBark prioritizes maintaining the local repository in a consistent and trustworthy state, reducing reliance on the remote server. Even if changes violating established rules are introduced to the remote repository, GitBark prevents their integration into the local repository. Consequently, users of GitBark can have confidence that their local repository remains a consistent and trustworthy version of the source code, without needing to place full trust on a remote server. An evaluation of GitBark, along with the devised rules, demonstrates its effectiveness in mitigating the threats identified in this study. Additionally, in terms of performance, GitBark incurs a modest overhead, both in time and storage., I dagens digital värld, så är det viktigare än någonsin att källkodens integritet upprätthålls. Detta är kritiskt för att kunna leverera tillförlitlig och kvalitativ mjukvara. Den ständigt ökade förekomsten av attacker som riktar sig mot källkodsrepon och versionshanteringssystem gör dock upprätthållandet av källkodens integritet svårt. Obehörig åtkomst till källkodsrepo ger upphov till flera säkerhetsrisker såsom inkluderandet av skadlig kod eller obehöriga godkännanden av nya ändringar. För att adressera dessa problem, så presenterar denna studie GitBark, ett verktyg som utnyttjar kryptografiska medel för att verifiera integriteten av ett källkodsrepo. GitBark gör detta genom att kräva regler för commits som görs till källkodsrepot och validera att de upprätthålls. Mer specifikt, så visar att studien att genom att formulera regler som uttnyttjar digitala signaturer så kan GitBark effektivt identifiera oauktoriserade ändringar och godkännanden. Dessutom, prioriterar GitBark att alltid bibehålla det lokala källkodsrepot i ett konsekvent och trovärdigt tillstånd, för att minska beroendet på en remoteserver. Även ifall ändringar som inte uppfyller reglerna introduceras på remote-källkodsrepot så ser GitBark till att dessa ändringar aldrig integreras i det lokala repot. Följaktligen så kan användare av GitBark känna sig säkra i att det lokala källkodsrepot alltid förblir i ett konsekvent och trovärdigt tillstånd i relation till dem etablerade reglerna, utan att behöva förlita sig på en remoteserver. En evaluering av GitBark, tillsammans med de skapade reglerna påvisar dess effektivitet i att adressera de identifierade hoten i denna studie. Dessutom, vad gäller prestanda så har GitBark en liten påverkan både i tid och utrymme.

In the research of Mining Software Repositories, code repository is one of the core source since it contains the product of software development. Code repository stores the versions of files, and makes it possible to browse the histories of files, such as modification dates, authors, messages, etc. Although such rich information of file histories is easily available, extracting the histories of methods, which are elements of source code files, is not easy from general code repositories. To tackle this difficulty, we have developed Historage, a fine-grained version control system. Historage repository is a Git repository which is built upon original Git repository. Therefore, similar mining techniques for general Git repositories are applicable to Historage repositories. Kataribe is a hosting service of Historage repositories, which enables researchers and developers to browse method histories on the web and clone Historage repositories to local. The global engineering design house Syntronic has requested a further development of the open source Python framework PyVISA-sim to enable dynamic simulations of signals and measuring instruments which would streamline development of their internal radio equipment testing tool. This tool is used by a world leading telecommunications company when developing their next generation radio equipment. PyVISA-sim is used in lab environments to test applications without access to real connected instruments. The project detailed in this thesis strives to pinpoint Syntronic’s needs, develop the requested functionality within the framework and have the changes implemented as part of the official GitHub repository, thereby making them available for anyone wanting to utilize them. To achieve this agile software development methods are utilized combined with an open source mindset. The resulting additions to PyVISA-sim can reduce the workload for all users in need of a more complex simulation method.

Many large companies use various business intelligence solutions to filter, process, and visualize their software source code repository data. These tools focus on improving continuous integration and are used to get insights about people, products, and projects in the organization. However, research has shown that the quality of measurement programs in software engineering often is low since the science behind them is unexplored. In addition, code repositories contain a considerable amount of information about the developers, and several ethical and legal aspects need to be considered before using these tools, such as compliance with GDPR. This thesis aims to investigate how companies can use repository metrics and these business intelligence tools in a safe and valuable way. In order to answer the research questions, a case study was conducted in a Swedish company, and repository metrics from a real business intelligence tool were analyzed based on several questions. These questions were related to software measurement theory, ethical and legal aspects of software engineering and metrics, and institutionalized theory. The results show how these metrics could be of value to a company in different ways, for instance by visualization collaboration in a project or by differentiating between read and active repositories. These metrics could also be valuable by linking them to other data in the company such as bug reports and repository downloads. The findings show that the visualizations could potentially be perceived as a type of performance monitoring by developers, causing stress and unhealthy incitements in the organization. In addition, repository metrics are based on identifiable data from Git, which according to the GDPR is classified as personal data. Further, there is a risk that these tools are used simply because they are available, as a way to legitimize the company. In order to mitigate these risks, the thesis states that the metrics should be anonymized

Software being developed today can have years worth of history and hundreds if notthousands of files involved in a single project. When trying to determine what parts ofthe code need maintenance or updating it can be difficult to determine what will beproblematic in the future. Hours spent on code that will not cause problems in thefuture could be better used in other areas. Before changes are made to a codebase, themost error-prone parts of the code should be identified. In this thesis a method forcomparing what factors contribute to future bugs is developed, as well as testing severalfactors extracted from version control metadata using this method. In addition, avisualization was made using tree maps to show the most problematic files in a readablemanner, effectively using the produced data in an application to predict future bugs. Itwas determined that Age of newest change, Changes with age reducing importance andPrevious bugfixes with age reducing importance were all the most impactful factors forpredicting future bugs but that different repositories worked best with differentcombinations of the mentioned factors.

Ante la creciente complejidad y estructura de código manejado por empresas y equipos de desarrollo, surge la necesidad de establecer procesos y metodologías prácticas con el objetivo de lograr una disposición más rápida, ágil y confiable del software. En este proyecto de Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) se aborda la implementación de una infraestructura de Integración Continua y Despliegue Continuo (CI/CD) para una aplicación de software. El objetivo principal es automatizar y agilizar el proceso de desarrollo, pruebas y despliegue de la aplicación, siguiendo las mejores prácticas de CI/CD. La infraestructura de CI/CD diseñada constará de varias etapas principales, la ejecución de pruebas unitarias y de integración, la generación de informes de calidad de código y cobertura de pruebas, y el despliegue automatizado en un entorno de producción. Para ello se emplean herramientas populares como Jenkins, Kubernetes y Docker para la configuración y ejecución de las diferentes etapas de CI/CD. Además, se incorporan prácticas como la integración de pruebas automatizadas, el uso de contenedores para la gestión de dependencias y despliegue, y la integración con repositorios de código. El resultado de esta infraestructura de CI/CD es una mejora significativa en la eficiencia y calidad del proceso de desarrollo de la aplicación. Se logra una mayor rapidez en la detección de errores, una mayor confiabilidad en los despliegues y una mayor visibilidad de los resultados generados, gracias a la generación de informes y métricas. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado será crear y documentar un entorno de integración continua y despliegue continuo de una aplicación. El enfoque del proyecto se centrará en generar una estructura que de manera automática sea capaz de desplegar una aplicación que previamente hemos sometido a las pruebas necesarias para verificar su calidad. Command line and version control skills are vital to computer science students during their education and as they enter the software industry. These skills are commonly taught to undergraduate students via traditional lecturing methods and brief hands-on activities. Many students struggle with learning the Git version control system because they are not familiar with the command line, or they do not understand how Git works internally. Recent research highlights the effectiveness of using interactive visualizations to teach computer science concepts. Thus, we developed novel command line and Git exercises with interactive visualizations. These exercises integrate with learning management systems to automate grading. We tested the effectiveness of the exercises in a CS2 course at a large research institution by conducting pre-assessments before and post-assessments after the students completed the exercises. We found that students performed significantly better on both the command line and Git post-assessments than on the pre-assessments. Furthermore, we found that students with less experience with the command line and Git achieved a significantly greater improvement from the pre-assessments to the post-assessments. Additionally, we found that students with different levels of command line and Git experience did not perform differently on the exercises. Therefore, the exercises provide a novel tool for teaching command line and Git concepts to undergraduate computer science students with any level of command line and Git experience.

Automating workflows is a solution many developers lean towards in order to handle the problem but the effects of workflow automation is not yet determined enough to say that it actually helps. Based on GitHub’s workflow automation tool, GitHub Actions, this study looks at the effects of workflow automation by analysing the amount and speed of work in repositories on GitHub. To further understand the effects this study looks at the impact of the number of people interacting with a repository on the speed in which developers work. This study performs a statistical analysis on the difference between repositories that use workflow automation and those that do not to further increase knowledge of developers so that they can make informed decisions. Analysis on the effects of workflow automation shows that repositories that use it have an increased amount of committed code, more pull requests, uses issues more, faster pull request closure, and faster issue closure rates. In general repositories using workflow automation have more stars and contributors than those without. Analysis of the impact of the number of contributors show that usage of workflow automation increases with contributors. The study concludes that further research is required to determine if workflow automation is the causing factor of this or the implementation of workflow automation is an effect of increased activity in repositories.

In this work we are going to deal with one of the most powerful tools to analyze the market, the Business Intelligence. The objective of this thesis is to implement a Business Intelligence Dashboard (BID) for the company Sabentis so that it can improve its data analysis and give a competitive advantage to the companies that use it.

Unit tests are an essential part of every software project, as they allow to evaluate units of code independently. This final degree thesis aims to enhance unit testing methodology in the context of Ficosa, an international automotive company. This will be done integrating unit test tools within the build system used for the projects, to later automate their execution using Jenkins and finally add unit tests to the continuous integration pipelines., Los tests unitarios son una parte esencial de cualquier proyecto de software, ya que sirven para probar unidades de código de manera independiente. Este proyecto de fin de grado pretende mejorar los métodos de test unitario en el contexto de Ficosa, una empresa internacional del sector de la automoción. Esto se hará a partir de la integración de las herramientas de test unitario en el sistema de compilaciones de los proyectos, para posteriormente automatizar su ejecución me-diante Jenkins y añadir los tests unitarios en las cadenas de integración continua.

In today’s digital landscape, maintaining the integrity of source code is crucial for delivering reliable and trustworthy software solutions. However, the increasing prevalence of attacks targeting source code repositories and version control systems (VCSs) poses significant challenges to source code integrity. Unauthorized access to source code repositories can lead to various security risks, including the introduction of malicious code or unauthorized approvals for pull requests. Security measures implemented on the remote server hosting the repository are typically insufficient to detect these types of attacks, resulting in changes potentially remaining undetected and becoming part of the deployed artifact. To address those issues, this study proposes GitBark, a framework that employs cryptographic methods to verify the integrity of a source code repository. GitBark achieves this by enforcing rules and policies on the commits made to the repository. Specifically, the study demonstrates that by formulating rules that utilize digital signatures, GitBark can effectively identify unauthorized changes and approvals. Moreover, GitBark prioritizes maintaining the local repository in a consistent and trustworthy state, reducing reliance on the remote server. Even if changes violating established rules are introduced to the remote repository, GitBark prevents their integration into the local repository. Consequently, users of GitBark can have confidence that their local repository remains a consistent and trustworthy version of the source code, without needing to place full trust on a remote server. An evaluation of GitBark, along with the devised rules, demonstrates its effectiveness in mitigating the threats identified in this study. Additionally, in terms of performance, GitBark incurs a modest overhead, both in time and storage., I dagens digital värld, så är det viktigare än någonsin att källkodens integritet upprätthålls. En evaluering av GitBark, tillsammans med de skapade reglerna påvisar dess effektivitet i att adressera de identifierade hoten i denna studie. Dessutom, vad gäller prestanda så har GitBark en liten påverkan både i tid och utrymme.

Práce se zaměřuje na vytvoření prostředí pro automatizované vyhodnocování studentských prací s využitím Git repozitářů. V rámci tohoto prostředí má každý vyučující možnost spravovat předměty, úlohy a skupiny studentů. Pro každý předmět je možné vytvořit úlohy (projekty) v programovacích jazycích Java nebo C#, které musí studenti vypracovat. Úloha obsahuje sady testů definovaných vyučujícím, které jsou využity k vyhodnocení odevzdaných studentských prací na kolaboračním Git serveru. V práci je popsána platforma Docker na která je vytvořen systém pro automatizované vyhodnocování studentských prací. Ten se skládá z komponent Gitlab-CE, Gitlabrunner, MySQL a vlastního integračního nástroje. Tyto služby jsou dále teoreticky popsány. V praktické části je implementována konfigurace pro Docker Compose a administrační aplikace pro automatické vyhodnocování studentských prací., Thesis is focused on creation an environment for automated evaluation of student work using Git repositories. Within this environment, each teacher has the ability to manage courses, assignments and groups of students. For each course it is possible to create assignments (projects) in Java or C# programming languages that students have to develop. The assignment contains sets of tests defined by the teacher, which are used to evaluate the submitted student work on the collaborative Git server. Thesis describes the Docker platform, on which a system for automated evaluation of student works is created. It consists of Gitlab-CE, Gitlab-runner, MySQL and its own integration tool. These services are further theoretically described. La necessitat de disposar d'entorns d'execució deterministes i alineats amb l'evolució del codi per als entorns de desenvolupament i integració continua de software és una necessitat que cada cop és més urgent a Ficosa. D'aquesta forma, el projecte investigarà i determinarà com es poden integrar una sèrie de tecnologies que ja s'utilitzen a Ficosa amb tot el procés de generació de paquets software. A més, l'objectiu és que el fet de satisfer aquesta necessitat tingui un impacte mínim sobre la forma de treballar de l'empresa i els processos que ja estan establerts i respecten els estàndards arbitrats., The need to have deterministic execution environments aligned with code evolution for software development and continuous integration is an increasingly urgent requirement at Ficosa. In this way, the project will investigate and determine how a series of technologies already used at Ficosa can be integrated into the software package generation process. Additionally, the objective is to ensure that meeting this need has minimal impact on the company's way of working and the processes that are already established and adhere to the based standards.

[Resumen]: El objetivo de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado es la creación de una aplicación web que permita a los propietarios de establecimientos de hostelería ofrecer sus menús diarios. Asimismo, se busca proporcionar a los usuarios particulares la posibilidad de reservar dichos menús para una fecha y hora específicas, simplificando el proceso tanto para los propietarios de los establecimientos, quienes podrán conocer de antemano los menús reservados y los horarios de entrega, como para los repartidores, quienes tendrán la información necesaria sobre los destinos y horarios de entrega, y para los usuarios particulares, quienes podrán reservar y organizar sus comidas de manera fácil y cómoda durante varios días consecutivos. Con el fin de lograr este objetivo, se llevó a cabo inicialmente un análisis exhaustivo de las funcionalidades y metas que abarcaría el proyecto, así como de los requisitos funcionales que el producto final debería cumplir y su viabilidad. Posteriormente, se procedió al diseño, implementación y pruebas de las funcionalidades de la aplicación, basándose en los resultados obtenidos en el análisis previo. It also seeks to provide private users with the possibility of reserving these menus for a specific date and time, simplifying the process both for the owners of the establishments, who will be able to know in advance the reserved menus and delivery schedules, and for the deliverers, who will have the necessary information about the destinations and delivery schedules, and for the private users, who will be able to reserve and organize their meals in an easy and comfortable way for several consecutive days. In order to achieve this objective, an exhaustive analysis of the functionalities and goals to be covered by the project was initially carried out, as well as the functional requirements that the final product should meet and its feasibility. Subsequently, we proceeded to the design, implementation and testing of the application’s functionalities, based on the results obtained in the previous analysis. For the development of this application, the Java programming language was used with the Spring framework, in order to create a REST service that contains the business logic necessary for the operation of the application. In addition, the ORM framework Hibernate was used in conjunction with the PostgreSQL database management system for information storage. Finally, a web client was implemented using the JavaScript Vue.js framework to visualize the platform.

Many large companies use various business intelligence solutions to filter, process, and visualize their software source code repository data. These tools focus on improving continuous integration and are used to get insights about people, products, and projects in the organization. However, research has shown that the quality of measurement programs in software engineering often is low since the science behind them is unexplored. In addition, code repositories contain a considerable amount of information about the developers, and several ethical and legal aspects need to be considered before using these tools, such as compliance with GDPR. This thesis aims to investigate how companies can use repository metrics and these business intelligence tools in a safe and valuable way. In order to answer the research questions, a case study was conducted in a Swedish company, and repository metrics from a real business intelligence tool were analyzed based on several questions. These questions were related to software measurement theory, ethical and legal aspects of software engineering and metrics, and institutionalized theory. The results show how these metrics could be of value to a company in different ways, for instance by visualization collaboration in a project or by differentiating between read and active repositories. These metrics could also be valuable by linking them to other data in the company such as bug reports and repository downloads. The findings show that the visualizations could potentially be perceived as a type of performance monitoring by developers, causing stress and unhealthy incitements in the organization. In addition, repository metrics are based on identifiable data from Git, which according to the GDPR is classified as personal data. Further, there is a risk that these tools are used simply because they are available, as a way to legitimize the company. In order to mitigate these risks, the thesis states that the metrics should be anonymized

Software being developed today can have years worth of history and hundreds if notthousands of files involved in a single project. When trying to determine what parts ofthe code need maintenance or updating it can be difficult to determine what will beproblematic in the future. Hours spent on code that will not cause problems in thefuture could be better used in other areas. Before changes are made to a codebase, themost error-prone parts of the code should be identified. In this thesis a method forcomparing what factors contribute to future bugs is developed, as well as testing severalfactors extracted from version control metadata using this method. In addition, avisualization was made using tree maps to show the most problematic files in a readablemanner, effectively using the produced data in an application to predict future bugs. Itwas determined that Age of newest change, Changes with age reducing importance andPrevious bugfixes with age reducing importance were all the most impactful factors forpredicting future bugs but that different repositories worked best with differentcombinations of the mentioned factors.

Cílem práce je zpracovat podrobnou analýzu využití verzovacího systému GIT při tvorbě softwarového systému, možností využití systému GIT v teamových projektech a analýzu automatických deployment (hooky) s prozkoumáním možností spojení deploymentu s Unit testy. Tento kontrolní mechanismus by měl být schopen při neúspěšném merge nebo build informovat plnohodnotně uživatele o nastalé chybě. Součástí práce je i stručná analýza možností jiných nástrojů pro automatický deployment. V závěru práce autor provede srovnání těchto nástrojů s verzovacím systémem GIT. Výstupem praktické části je pak návrh a implementace kompletního řešení pro automatický deployment se systémem kontroly alespoň pro dva odlišné servery např. produkční a vývojový. V praktické části je postihnuta i problematika spouštění automatických migračních skriptů pro databázi., The goal of this thesis is to conduct a detailed analysis of the usage of the GIT version control system in software development, its usage in team projects and, in addition, analysis of automatic deployment (hooks) with system to conduct automatic deployment with tests. This control mechanism should fully inform the user of any errors that may have occured. This thesis also provides a brief analysis of other automatic deployment tools. At the end of the theoretical part, the author compares these tools with the version control system GIT. The practical part of this thesis aims to design and implement a solution for automatic deployment system with a mechanism to check for errors on at least two different servers, such as production and development. Para lograr este objetivo, se definió un Domain Specific Language (DSL) que permitiera simplificar las peticiones para obtener los datos. A continuación, se desarrolló una librería capaz de interpretar y ejecutar el lenguaje diseñado y, finalmente, se creó una aplicación web que simplica el uso de la librería previamente mencionada. En el desarrollo, se usa PostgreSQL como almacén de datos, así como Leaflet para visualizar los datos obtenidos en mapas. Se utiliza Vue.js para implementar el frontend y Spring para el backend. El trabajo de fin de grado se gestiona siguiendo una metodología iterativa e incremental., [Abstract]: The objective of this end-of-degree project is to develop a tool which allows to extract and import automatically data from OpenStreetMap (OSM) to relational databases quickly and easily. In order to achieve this goal, we defined a Domain Specific Language (DSL) which simplifies the requests to obtain the data and insert it on the corresponding database. Following up a library capable of interpreting and executing the language was designed, and finally a small web application to simplify the use of the previously mentioned library was implemented. In the development, PostgreSQL is used for the storage of information, as well as Leaflet for data visualization on maps. Vue.js is used for the frontend as well as Spring for the backend. The end-of-degree work is managed following an iterative and incremental methodology for software development.

The global engineering design house Syntronic has requested a further development of the open source Python framework PyVISA-sim to enable dynamic simulations of signals and measuring instruments which would streamline development of their internal radio equipment testing tool. This tool is used by a world leading telecommunications company when developing their next generation radio equipment. PyVISA-sim is used in lab environments to test applications without access to real connected instruments. The project detailed in this thesis strives to pinpoint Syntronic’s needs, develop the requested functionality within the framework and have the changes implemented as part of the official GitHub repository, thereby making them available for anyone wanting to utilize them. To achieve this agile software development methods are utilized combined with an open source mindset. The resulting additions to PyVISA-sim can reduce the workload for all users in need of a more complex simulation method.

Denna kandidatrapport behandlar främst arbetsmetodiken gruppen förhöll sig till samt hur dessa metoder och arbetssätt sedan användes i projektet. Rapporten tar även upp aspekter om själva produkten som förverkligades under projektets gång, även om det inte är i fokus. Applikationsområdet för projektet är på kort sikt att hjälpa äldre personer som genomgått ett hälsosamtal att hålla uppsikt över sin hälsa på ett vetenskapligt sätt. På lång sikt är applikationsområdet att människor ska kunna replikera sina kroppar genom medicinska digitala tvillingar för att testa exempelvis effekter av läkemedel, koster och träningsmetoder. Detta är kort sagt ett koncept som har potentialen att revolutionera sjukvården och människors hälsa i en positiv riktning. Software development is becoming increasingly ubiquitous in STEM disciplines resulting in the need for education in associated computational skills. To address this need, we designed a "Sustainable Software Development with Collaborative Version Control" workshop in the 2019 Institute for Scientist & Engineer Educators (ISEE) Professional Development Program (PDP). We describe here the development process and following delivery of the workshop. In particular, we explored how to apply an inquiry approach to learning computational skills. By design, PDP activities intertwine content and “cognitive STEM practices,” and teasing apart content and practice is important for STEM education. We encountered challenges with this task because our content — exploring software sustainability with collaborative version control — is much like a practice in itself. We designed our workshop to introduce the critical skill of sustainable software development using collaborative version control systems with an inquiry approach rather than the more typically used, strictly technical approach. We emphasize the authentic, broadly applicable nature of the workshop in which learners jointly design, test, and discuss their own increasingly complex development workflows. The development process for our workshop may be useful for educators who want to introduce software practices to learners from many disparate STEM disciplines that leverage computational methods and require software development to approach research questions.

This thesis proposes an implementation for a decentralized version of the Git version controlsystem. This is achieved using a simple distributed DAG ledger. The thesis analyzeshow the decentralization of Git affects security. Use and misuse cases are used to compareand evaluate conventional Git web services and a decentralized version of Git. Theproposed method for managing the state of the Git project is described as a voting systemwhere participants in a Git project vote on changes to be made. The security evaluationfound that the removal of privileged roles in the Git version control system, mitigated thepossibility of malicious maintainers taking over the project. Students often use Version Control Systems such as Git and GitHub during their education, though newly examined students are often found to lack mastery of industry standard practices. Manually monitoring and giving feedback to students is time consuming and requires a large amount of labor. Therefore, this paper proposes and evaluates an automated feedback system which analyses student assignment repositories an publishes feedback based on a set of data points. After the study, we attempt to measure any impact of the feedback on student performance. The study is unable to underline a significant impact. Deras svar samt studiens resultat pekar mot att ytterligare studier inom ämnet är väl motiverade.

Developing good version control skills is important for students to master. This work focuses on helping students integrate good commit behaviour using a scaffolding process that happens with their regular assignments. A test group of students (n=30) was required to make a minimum of three commits in the first week. In the second week, students were trained to write better commit messages and worked together on a commit plan. In the final week, students worked alone on their commit plan. Commit behaviour was analysed for assignments occurring before, during and after the process. Results showed that students improved their commit behaviour in terms of number of commits, starting earlier with their assignments and writing more meaningful commit messages when compared to the rest of their cohort and the previous year's cohort (m=350). Qualitative results showed that students were mostly positive towards developing better commit behaviour and felt that the extra effort to think in commits delivered proportionally more benefits for their work., Part of proceedings: ISBN 978-1-4503-9070-5QC 20221125

This thesis proposes an implementation for a decentralized version of the Git version controlsystem. This is achieved using a simple distributed DAG ledger. The thesis analyzeshow the decentralization of Git affects security. Use and misuse cases are used to compareand evaluate conventional Git web services and a decentralized version of Git. Theproposed method for managing the state of the Git project is described as a voting systemwhere participants in a Git project vote on changes to be made. The security evaluationfound that the removal of privileged roles in the Git version control system, mitigated thepossibility of malicious maintainers taking over the project. Los currículos escolares señalan como pieza clave en la enseñanza de la Geografía, el desarrollo y adquisición de la Competencia Espacial (CE). Junto a ella, la actual Sociedad de la Información y la Comunicación advierte de la necesidad de formar en Competencias Digitales (CD), de manera que se logre alcanzar una ciudadanía responsable y capaz del siglo XXI. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar las posibilidades didácticas que ofrece la Tecnología de la Información Geográfica Google EarthTM para desarrollar diferentes conceptos y procedimientos geográficos en el alumnado y en el profesorado en formación. La metodología implementada es mixta,y el modelo de enseñanza y aprendizaje utilizado es el Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). Se analizan los dos instrumentos utilizados: las propuestas didácticas diseñadas y las respuestas a un cuestionario de escala Likert, a lo largo de dos cursos académicos. The objective of this research is to analyze the educational possibilities offered by Google EarthTM Geographic Information Technology to develop different geographic concepts and procedures in students and teachers. The implemented methodology is mixed, through the teaching and learning model used is the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). The two instruments used are analyzed: the designed didactic proposals and the answers to a Likert scale questionnaire, throughout two academic years. Some of the results show that the participants lack knowledge related to the geographical landscape, SC as well as poor training in DC for the teaching task.

Durante el curso académico 21/22 se ha implantado el uso de Github Classroom en la asignatura Fundamentos de los Videojuegos (FV). FV es una asignatura de tercero de Ingeniería Multimedia de la Universidad de Alicante, donde se proporciona las bases para el análisis, diseño e implementación de videojuegos. Github Classroom es una de las plataformas que permiten expandir los sistemas tradicionales de gestión del aprendizaje con nuevas capacidades (por ejemplo, permite administrar y organizar un proyecto, realizando seguimientos del trabajo de los alumnos...). En este trabajo se aporta un estudio de implantación, analizando la opinión de los docentes y la relación resultado/esfuerzo de su implantación además de la opinión de los alumnos, recabada mediante encuestas, y su valoración con respecto a una posible implantación al resto de asignaturas del mismo curso o cursos anteriores de ingeniería multimedia. En este artículo, se comunica la experiencia del equipo docente en cuanto a las ventajas y dificultades de la herramienta, mostrando además estadísticas de uso de la plataforma. Todos los análisis planteados han servido para valorar el uso de Github Classroom dentro de la asignatura Fundamentos de los Videojuegos y propiciar su implantación en otras asignaturas afines.

Las actividades realizadas en las sesiones de laboratorio de informática juegan un papel fundamental en las asignaturas de los grados en Informática. Dentro de las sesiones de laboratorio de informática, las que tienen como objetivo el aprendizaje de programación, o que hacen uso de ella para aprender otros conceptos, tienen la dificultad de requerir un desarrollo, gestión y entrega de código por parte del estudiantado, así como la resolución de dudas y corrección de las prácticas por el profesorado. Además, desde marzo del 2020, se han incrementado las tutorías online, siendo el correo electrónico la principal vía de comunicación, con los retos que esto supone para proporcionar un feedback adecuado en las prácticas en las que se implementa código. En este trabajo se han analizado las herramientas de comunicación (como los issues) que ofrecen los sistemas de gestión de versiones (como Git y su implementación a través de GitHub) para mejorar la comunicación estudiantado-profesorado. A su vez, se ha estudiado la viabilidad del uso de herramientas online (como Google Colaboratory) para el desarrollo de prácticas informáticas, y su conexión con sistemas de control de versiones. Estas propuestas han sido evaluadas por el estudiantado para conocer su opinión sobre la gestión de las prácticas mediante el uso de estas herramientas., The tasks conducted by students during the lab sessions play a key role in undergraduate courses of Computer Science. The lab sessions of each course have their own peculiarities, but some common challenges are faced in lab sessions that aim to teach how to program, or that require some programming to learn other concepts. Such lab sessions require, from the students side, the development, management and submission of code, and, from the lecturers side, solving issues and marking the code. Moreover, since 2020 the e-mail has become the main mean of communication between students and lecturers; however, this is not the best tool to provide an adequate feedback about code-related questions. In this work, we have analysed the tools of communication (as issues) offered by control version systems (namely Git and its implementation through GitHub) to improve the communication between lecturers and students. In addition, we have studied online programming tools (as Google Colaboratory) and their connection with control version systems. Finally, all these actions have been evaluated by the students to know their opinions about managing lab sessions using these tools.

Denna kandidatrapport behandlar främst arbetsmetodiken gruppen förhöll sig till samt hur dessa metoder och arbetssätt sedan användes i projektet. Rapporten tar även upp aspekter om själva produkten som förverkligades under projektets gång, även om det inte är i fokus. Applikationsområdet för projektet är på kort sikt att hjälpa äldre personer som genomgått ett hälsosamtal att hålla uppsikt över sin hälsa på ett vetenskapligt sätt. På lång sikt är applikationsområdet att människor ska kunna replikera sina kroppar genom medicinska digitala tvillingar för att testa exempelvis effekter av läkemedel, koster och träningsmetoder. Detta är kort sagt ett koncept som har potentialen att revolutionera sjukvården och människors hälsa i en positiv riktning.
