Result: Major findings of study are out of 60 sample in the overall analysis of pre and post test knowledge score anemia among antenatal mothers. In pre test majority score 31(51.68%) had average knowledge, 17(28.33%) had poor knowledge, 12(20%) had good knowledge regarding anemia. Antenatal period not only composed with safe maternity and neonatal outcome but also the stability of maternal health for future purpose. This is accompanied by antenatal exercise. The present aim was to assess the effectiveness of pelvic floor muscle exercise on labor outcome among antenatal mothers. A quantitative approach with pre experimental research design was adopted for the present study. 60 antenatal mothers (n=60) were selected by using convenient sampling technique. A Self- structured questionnaire method was used to collect both the demographic data and the level of knowledge on PFME. The pre-test data was collected among 60 study participants, after intervention, post-test was done to assess the effectiveness. Outcome of the present study revealed that pre-test mean score on effectiveness of pelvic floor muscle exercise towards antenatal mother found 7.72 and post-test about 17.85. Hence concluded that the antenatal mother had improvement in level of knowledge in post-test compared to pre-test.

ObjectivesTo estimate the prevalence and socio-demographic and behavioral correlates of HIV and Hepatitis B among ANC attendees in a public tertiary care center in Kolkata, West Bengal, IndiaMethodologyA cross-sectional study was conducted involving consenting adult pregnant women attending the antenatal clinic of a public-sector tertiary care hospital in Kolkata, between January and June, 2016. Anonymous data was collected from 1670 randomly selected subjects, using a color-coded, audio-integrated, tablet-PC assisted, pre-recorded, self-interview system developed in an algorithm based android platform with a non-response rate of 3%. FindingsAmong participants. 1.66% were HIV-positive while 2.74% had Hepatitis-B. Having extra-marital relationship was associated with Hepatitis B infection. Higher age, poor education, higher parity, alcohol consumption by husbands before sex, history of syphilis/genital ulcer or swelling and higher self-perceived HIV risk were associated with HIV sero-positivity. Higher age at marriage and graduation or higher education were the factors negatively associated with ever having sex with someone who consumed alcohol. Relatively older participants had higher while high-school or more educated subjects had lower odds of having extra-marital sexual relationship. Rural respondents were more likely to engage in paid sex. Rural-living husbands, those having high-school or more education and business-owners were less likely to have sex with the respondents always after consuming alcohol. Higher age of respondent was negatively and graduation or above education was positively associated with husband having vaginal sex during respondent’s pregnancy. Odds of verbal abuse/bad behavior during sex by husband was positively associated with wife’s age and lower among high school-educated husband, and wives. Physical abuse during sex was more likely experienced by respondents with higher age of respondent, Muslim religion and less likely among high-schoo

Material and Method: This was a Cross- sectional study conducted on 80 undergraduate medical students & 80 non-medical students and 40 Antenatal mothers. The study tool for data collection in the form of a Structured Questionnaire was designed. Study was conducted for a period of two months. Data was analysed in SPSS version 20, Chi-Square test was used to assess the significance of the responses and a P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: 45% medicos and 31.25% non medicos were aware of the terminology stem cell while only 10% Antenatal mothers knew about it. Monetary Reason was the major factor which prevented 77.5% mothers from opting for stem cell preservation while12.5% Antenatal mothers never thought of it, 7.5% Antenatal mothers did not opt because of social stigma and 2.5% due to Ethical consideration. Conclusion: Students from streams other than Medicine and antenatal mothers should be educated about the advances being made in Medical Science and a brief introduction about the newer modalities of treatments, to increase people participation and achieving a Holistic Approach towards Health Care.
