The model of a photoacoustic gas-microphone signal in the time domain recorded in a transmission configuration using a minimum volume cell is derived. This model takes into account the inertial thermal relaxations of both the sample and the gas filling the cell by means of the generalized hyperbolic theory of heat conduction. With the introduction of electro-thermal analogy for the thin sample and short microphone length cavity, characteristic quantities are defined, which can be used in solving the inverse problem in time-domain photoacoustic in both cases, when thermal relaxations are neglected as well as when they are considered. The derived model that includes thermal relaxation explains the experimentally observed occurrence of overshoots and undershoots as well as an oscillatory approach to the steady values of the recorded signal in high-resolution time-domain photoacoustic measurements of thin semiconductor membranes, which will be presented in detail in Paper II of the paper. © 2023 Author(s).

In this paper, a self-consistent inverse procedure is developed for the estimation of linear thermal expansion coefficient and thermal diffusivity of solids from transmission photoacoustic measurement. This procedure consists of two single-parameter fitting processes applied alternately: phase data are fitted by shifting thermal diffusion coefficient, while amplitude data are fitted by shifting thermal expansion coefficient. Each fitting process uses the resulting parameter of the other, previously finished one, thus converging to the best solution-pair achievable. In numerical experiments, the convergence proves to be very fast. The achieved parameter estimation error is as low as 1%, and it can be lowered further more by increasing the fitting resolution in parameter space. The application of the procedure on experimentally obtained aluminum photoacoustic response (measurements) on three thickness levels returns the estimates of its thermal diffusion and thermal expansion coefficients within expected literature boundaries.

LFP batteries are widely used for electric vehicles and backup power due to their important advantages such as low cost, lifetime, efficiency, and reliability. There are still several technical challenges that need to be addressed: The increase of energy density or further reduction of their final cost. This paper concerned with the characterization of carbon coated LiFePO4 nanopowder cathode materials produced under different conditions by pulse combustion for providing energy to the reactor for the synthesis. The reactor was built according to the principles of the thermoacoustic burner on the basis of the Helmholtz resonator. The investigated nanopowders are synthesized by complete and incomplete combustion and calcined at 700 °C. The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared, Raman, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Observed low-Temperature magnetic phase transitions definitively identified the crystal phases. The morphology of samples was controlled by scanning electron microscopy. The aim of this work is to show that it is possible to achieve a desired crystal phase by pulse combustion in a relatively cheap and fast way. The extremely rapid synthesis of almost pure phase material is possible due to the reduction in size of interacting particles and to an enormous number of collisions between them as a result of strong turbulent flow associated with explosive combustion. © 2019 Author(s).

However, at high frequencies, the presented model predicts resonant behavior of amplitudes and phases of photoacoustic response and determines the respective resonant frequencies. The results of the presented model enable experimental determination of standard thermal properties of solids (thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity), as well as thermal memory properties, thermal relaxation time, and heat propagation speed. MgFe2O4 nanoparticles crystallize in Fd3m space group with mixed cation distribution and reduced percentage of Fe3+ at tetrahedral (8a) sites. Discrepancy in the cation distribution compared to that in the bulk Mg-ferrite is one of the highest known. X-ray line broadening analysis reveals crystallite size and strain anisotropy. The saturation magnetization, M-sat=62 emu/g measured at 5 K is twice higher than that found in the bulk counterparts. Such high value of M-sat is attributed to the low value of cation inversion parameter (delta=0.69), to the core/shell structure of the nanoparticles and to the surface/volume ratio. Moumlssbauer spectrum collected at room temperature reveals ferrimagnetic ordering between Fe3+ ions in 8a and 16d sites, while zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) M(T) measurements were shown superparamagnetic state above 350 K.

In this paper, we have investigated the temperature dependence of dielectric properties (relative dielectric permeabilities and dielectric tangents of losses) for woven fabrics of hemp, jute, flax, cotton, polyester (PES), cotton-PES mixture, and wool. The measurements have been carried out at a temperature range from -50 to 50 degrees C in the electric periodic field at a frequency 1 MHz in vacuum. For the same specimens, the values of the dielectric properties have also been measured at an air temperature of 21 degrees C and at relative humidities of 40%, 60%, and 80%. At different frequencies from 80 kHz to 5 MHz, the dielectric properties have been measured at a relative humidity of 40% and at a temperature of 21 degrees C. An investigation of the dielectric properties of woven fabrics can provide a better understanding of the relation between the dielectric properties of woven fabrics and the different raw material compositions, temperatures, relative air humidities, and frequencies for specimens. Hence, this investigation helps to improve textile material properties.
