3D printing techniques allow for the precise placement of living cells, biological substances, and biochemical components, establishing themselves as a promising approach in bioengineering. Recently, 3D printing has been applied to develop human-relevant in vitro cancer models with highly controlled complexity and as a potential method for drug screening and disease modeling. Compared to 2D culture, 3D-printed in vitro cancer models more closely replicate the in vivo microenvironment. Additionally, they offer a reduction in the complexity and ethical issues associated with using in vivo animal models. This focused review discusses the relevance of 3D printing technologies and the applied cells and materials used in cutting-edge in vitro cancer models and microfluidic device systems. Background: Accurate breed identification is essential for the conservation and sustainable use of indigenous farm animal genetic resources. In this study, we evaluated the phylogenetic relationships and genomic breed compositions of 13 sheep breeds using SNP and InDel data from whole genome sequencing. The breeds included 11 Chinese indigenous and 2 foreign commercial breeds. We compared different strategies for breed identification with respect to different marker types, i.e. SNPs, InDels, and a combination of SNPs and InDels (named SIs), different breed-informative marker detection methods, and different machine learning classification methods. Results: Using WGS-based SNPs and InDels, we revealed the phylogenetic relationships between 11 Chinese indigenous and two foreign sheep breeds and quantified their purities through estimated genomic breed compositions. We found that the optimal strategy for identifying these breeds was the combination of DFI_union for breed-informative marker detection, which integrated the methods of Delta, Pairwise Wright's FST, and Informativeness for Assignment (namely DFI) by merging the breed-informative markers derived from the three methods, and KSR for breed assignment, which integrated the methods of K-Nearest Neighbor, Support Vector Machine, and Random Forest (namely KSR) by intersecting their results. Using SI markers improved the identification accuracy compared to using SNPs or InDels alone. We achieved accuracies over 97.5% when using at least the 1000 most breed-informative (MBI) SI markers and even 100% when using 5000 SI markers. Conclusions: Our results provide not only an important foundation for conservation of these Chinese local sheep breeds, but also general approaches for breed identification of indigenous farm animal breeds. Precise synapse elimination is essential for the establishment of a fully developed neural circuit during brain development and higher function in adult brain. Beyond immune and nutrition support, recent groundbreaking studies have revealed that phagocytic microglia and astrocytes can actively and selectively eliminate synapses in normal and diseased brains, thereby mediating synapse loss and maintaining circuit homeostasis. Multiple lines of evidence indicate that the mechanisms of synapse elimination by phagocytic glia are not universal but rather depend on specific contexts and detailed neuron–glia interactions. The mechanism of synapse elimination by phagocytic glia is dependent on neuron-intrinsic factors and many innate immune and local apoptosis-related molecules. During development, microglial synapse engulfment in the visual thalamus is primarily influenced by the classic complement pathway, whereas in the barrel cortex, the fractalkine pathway is dominant. In Alzheimer's disease, microglia employ complement-dependent mechanisms for synapse engulfment in tauopathy and early β-amyloid pathology, but microglia are not involved in synapse loss at late β-amyloid stages. Phagocytic microglia also engulf synapses in a complement-dependent way in schizophrenia, anxiety, and stress. In addition, phagocytic astrocytes engulf synapses in a MEGF10-dependent way during visual development, memory, and stroke. Furthermore, the mechanism of a phenomenon that phagocytes selectively eliminate excitatory and inhibitory synapses is also emphasized in this review. We hypothesize that elucidating context-dependent synapse elimination by phagocytic microglia and astrocytes may reveal the molecular basis of synapse loss in neural disorders and provide a rationale for developing novel candidate therapies that target synapse loss and circuit homeostasis. In this study, 14 abietene and pimarene diterpenoids were isolated from the woods of Agathis dammara. Among them, 4 new compounds, dammarone A-C and dammaric acid A (1–4), were firstly reported, respectively. The structure of the new compounds was determined by HR ESI–MS and 1D/2D NMR spectroscopy, and their absolute configuration was determined by electronic circular dichroism (ECD) exciton chirality method. The hypoglycemic effect of all compounds was evaluated by transgenic zebrafish model, and the structure–activity relationship was discussed. Hinokione (7, HO) has low toxicity and significant hypoglycemic effects on zebrafish, the mechanism is mainly by promoting the differentiation of zebrafish pancreatic endocrine precursor cells (PEP cells) into β cells, thereby promoting the regeneration of pancreatic β cells. Studies on the shallow water waves belong to the cutting-edge issues in sciences and engineering. In this paper, introducing symbolic computation, for a generalized nonlinear shallow water wave equation, with respect to the displacement and velocity of the water, we establish an auto-Bäcklund transformation with some solitonic solutions, as well as a set of the similarity reductions, the latter of which ought to be focused towards a known ordinary differential equation. Patients with the target gene mutation frequently derive significant clinical benefits from target therapy. However, differences in the abundance level of mutations among patients resulted in varying survival benefits, even among patients with the same target gene mutations. Currently, there is a lack of rational and interpretable models to assess the risk of treatment failure. In this study, we investigated the underlying coupled factors contributing to variations in medication sensitivity and established a statistically interpretable framework, named SAFE-MIL, for risk estimation. We first constructed an effectiveness label for each patient from the perspective of exploring the optimal grouping of patients' positive judgment values and sampled patients into 600 and 1,000 groups, respectively, based on multi-instance learning (MIL). A novel and interpretable loss function was further designed based on the Hosmer-Lemeshow test for this framework. By integrating multi-instance learning with the Hosmer-Lemeshow test, SAFE-MIL is capable of accurately estimating the risk of drug treatment failure across diverse patient cohorts and providing the optimal threshold for assessing the risk stratification simultaneously. We conducted a comprehensive case study involving 457 non-small cell lung cancer patients with EGFR mutations treated with EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Results demonstrate that SAFE-MIL outperforms traditional regression methods with higher accuracy and can accurately assess patients' risk stratification. This underscores its ability to accurately capture inter-patient variability in risk while providing statistical interpretability. SAFE-MIL is able to effectively guide clinical decision-making regarding the use of drugs in targeted therapy and provides an interpretable computational framework for other patient stratification problems. The SAFE-MIL framework has proven its effectiveness in capturing inter-patient variability in risk and providing statistical interpretability. In this work, we theoretically studied the spin caloritronic properties of 7-width armchair graphene nanoribbons with isolated zigzag edge extension (D-system), cove-to-zigzag edge extensions (D1-system), cove-to-cove edge extensions (D2-system), and zigzag-to-zigzag edge extensions (D3-system), respectively, by combining first-principles calculations with a non-equilibrium Green's function method. The results illustrate that the D-system and D1-system with sublattice imbalance show spin-semiconductor properties and obtain thermally induced pure spin current devoid of charge current due to the symmetric spin-up and spin-down channels around the Fermi level. Additionally, it observes substantial spin-dependent Seebeck coefficients Ssp, approximately −2.5 mV/K for the D-system and −3.0 mV/K for the D1-system, near chemical potential ±0.5 eV. More than that, the D1-system showcases a remarkable spin-dependent thermoelectric figure of merit, ZspT, at room temperature, approximately approaching 8 near the Fermi level. In contrast, the D2-system and D3-system only achieved charge-dependent thermoelectric figure of merit of about 0.5 due to the preservation of sublattice balance. Background: R2R3-MYB transcription factors belong to one of the largest gene subfamilies in plants, and they are involved in diverse biological processes. However, the role of R2R3-MYB transcription factor subfamily genes in the response of rice (Oryza sativa L.) to salt stress has been rarely reported. Results: In this study, we performed a genome-wide characterization and expression identification of rice R2R3-MYB transcription factor subfamily genes. We identified a total of 117 R2R3-MYB genes in rice and characterized their gene structure, chromosomal location, and cis-regulatory elements. According to the phylogenetic relationships and amino acid sequence homologies, the R2R3-MYB genes were divided into four groups. qRT-PCR of the R2R3-MYB genes showed that the expression levels of 10 genes significantly increased after 3 days of 0.8% NaCl treatment. We selected a high expression gene OsMYB2-115 for further analysis. OsMYB2-115 was highly expressed in the roots, stem, leaf, and leaf sheath. OsMYB2-115 was found to be localized in the nucleus, and the yeast hybrid assay showed that OsMYB2-115 has transcriptional activation activity. Conclusion: This result provides important information for the functional analyses of rice R2R3-MYB transcription factor subfamily genes related to the salt stress response and reveals that OsMYB2-115 may be an important gene associated with salt tolerance in rice. Background: There is growing evidence for a relationship between gut microbiota and hepatic encephalopathy (HE). However, the causal nature of the relationship between gut microbiota and HE has not been thoroughly investigated. Method: This study utilized the large-scale genome-wide association studies (GWAS) summary statistics to evaluate the causal association between gut microbiota and HE risk. Specifically, two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach was used to identify the causal microbial taxa for HE. The inverse variance weighted (IVW) method was used as the primary MR analysis. Sensitive analyses were performed to validate the robustness of the results. Results: The IVW method revealed that the genus Bifidobacterium (OR = 0.363, 95% CI: 0.139-0.943, P = 0.037), the family Bifidobacteriaceae (OR = 0.359, 95% CI: 0.133-0.950, P = 0.039), and the order Bifidobacteriales (OR = 0.359, 95% CI: 0.133-0.950, P = 0.039) were negatively associated with HE. However, no causal relationship was observed among them after the Bonferroni correction test. Neither heterogeneity nor horizontal pleiotropy was found in the sensitivity analysis. Conclusion: Our MR study demonstrated a potential causal association between Bifidobacterium, Bifidobacteriaceae, and Bifidobacteriales and HE. Single-component white-light emitters have attracted increasing attention due to their advantages of convenient fabrication and energy conservation. However, blue phosphorescent materials are not easily obtained. Here, we develop a new strategy to realize white light emission in a Cu(I) cluster (1). 1 displays effective blue phosphorescence with a photoluminescence quantum yield (ϕ) of 68.5%, attributed to the good dispersion of the phosphor centres. A new yellow emission peak at 580 nm is observed after grinding, which combines with the blue phosphorescence to form white light emission (ϕ = 17.29%) with the CIE coordinates of (0.34, 0.36). A white light-emitting diode (WLED) is fabricated as well, which shows high performance with a satisfactory colour rendering index of 81.5 and correlated colour temperature of 6856 K. Background: Due to the high prevalence of multimorbidity and realistic health service demands for fall prevention, there is growing interest in the association between multimorbidity and falls. Our study aimed to identify multimorbidity patterns among Chinese older adults and explore the association between multimorbidity patterns and falls. Methods: Data from 4,579 Chinese community-dwelling older adults was included in this analysis. Information regarding falls and 10 chronic conditions was collected. An exploratory factor analysis was performed to determine multimorbidity patterns. Regression models were fitted to explore the associations of individual chronic disease or multimorbidity patterns with falls. Results: Among 4,579 participants, 368 (8.0%) were defined as fallers, including 92 (2.0%) frequent fallers, and multimorbidity affected 2,503 (54.7%) participants. Older adults with multimorbidity were more likely to be fallers [odds ratio (OR) = 1.3, P = 0.02] and frequent fallers (OR = 1.7, P = 0.04). Three multimorbidity patterns were identified (i.e., cardiovascular-metabolic diseases, psycho-cognitive diseases and organic diseases), and the associations between psycho-cognitive diseases/organic diseases and prevalent falls or frequent falls were found to be significant. Conclusions: The psycho-cognitive disease pattern and organic disease pattern are significantly associated with falls. Therefore, more attention should be paid to patients with psycho-cognitive diseases and timely, targeted diagnostic and treatment services should be provided in fall prevention. Background: Automated analysis of lung computed tomography (CT) scans may help characterize subphenotypes of acute respiratory illness. We integrated lung CT features measured via deep learning with clinical and laboratory data in spontaneously breathing subjects to enhance the identification of COVID-19 subphenotypes. Methods: This is a multicenter observational cohort study in spontaneously breathing patients with COVID-19 respiratory failure exposed to early lung CT within 7 days of admission. We explored lung CT images using deep learning approaches to quantitative and qualitative analyses; latent class analysis (LCA) by using clinical, laboratory and lung CT variables; regional differences between subphenotypes following 3D spatial trajectories. Results: Complete datasets were available in 559 patients. LCA identified two subphenotypes (subphenotype 1 and 2). As compared with subphenotype 2 (n = 403), subphenotype 1 patients (n = 156) were older, had higher inflammatory biomarkers, and were more hypoxemic. Lungs in subphenotype 1 had a higher density gravitational gradient with a greater proportion of consolidated lungs as compared with subphenotype 2. In contrast, subphenotype 2 had a higher density submantellar–hilar gradient with a greater proportion of ground glass opacities as compared with subphenotype 1. Subphenotype 1 showed higher prevalence of comorbidities associated with endothelial dysfunction and higher 90-day mortality than subphenotype 2, even after adjustment for clinically meaningful variables. Conclusions: Integrating lung-CT data in a LCA allowed us to identify two subphenotypes of COVID-19, with different clinical trajectories. These exploratory findings suggest a role of automated imaging characterization guided by machine learning in subphenotyping patients with respiratory failure. Variants (pathogenic) of the LMNA gene are a common cause of familial dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), which is characterised by early-onset atrioventricular (AV) block, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachyarrhythmias (VTs), and progressive heart failure. The unstable internal nuclear lamina observed in LMNA-related DCM is a consequence of the disassembly of lamins A and C. This suggests that LMNA variants produce truncated or alternative forms of protein that alter the nuclear structure and the signalling pathway related to cardiac muscle diseases. To date, the pathogenic mechanisms and phenotypes of LMNA-related DCM have been studied using different platforms, such as patient-specific induced pluripotent stem-cell-derived cardiomyocytes (iPSC-CMs) and transgenic mice. In this review, point variants in the LMNA gene that cause autosomal dominantly inherited forms of LMNA-related DCM are summarised. In addition, potential therapeutic targets based on preclinical studies of LMNA variants using transgenic mice and human iPSC-CMs are discussed. They include mitochondria deficiency, variants in nuclear deformation, chromatin remodelling, altered platelet-derived growth factor and ERK1/2-related pathways, and abnormal calcium handling. This study aims to explore the relationships among leisure, heritage, and identity through the case study of Malaysian Chinese 24 Festive Drums Performance. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 respondents who were members of the Chinese diaspora from Malaysia currently studying in China and practising 24 Festive Drums as their leisure activity. The findings showed that the three components are interrelated: (a) as identity carrier, heritage confirmed identity, while identity helped to spread the heritage; (b) identity served as a motivation for leisure, which in turn increased leisure participation and strengthened identity; (c) heritage was promoted as leisure practice, which further developed as serious leisure. This study has theoretical contributions in developing a triangular model of interrelationships between leisure, heritage, and identity. In populations in China, colorectal cancer (CRC) screening can be mainly accessed through organized screening, opportunistic screening, and physical examination. This screening intervention is found to be effective but the exact coverage rate is difficult to measure. Based on data from published articles, official websites, and available program reports, the screening coverage rate and related indicators were quantified. A rapid review was then conducted to estimate the overall and the breakdown coverage rates of the sub‐type screening services, by leveraging the numbers of articles and the by‐type median sample sizes. Up to 2020, two central government‐funded and four provincial/municipal‐level organized CRC screening programs have been initiated and included in this analysis. For populations aged 40–74, the estimated coverage rate of organized programs in China was 2.7% in 2020, and the 2‐year cumulative coverage rate in 2019–2020 was 5.3% and the 3‐year cumulative coverage rate in 2018–2020 was 7.7%. The corresponding coverage rates of 50–74‐year‐olds were estimated to be 3.4%, 7.1%, and 10.3%, respectively. Based on the rapid review approach, the overall screening coverage rate for 40–74 years, considering organized screening programs, opportunistic screening, and physical examinations, was then estimated to be 3.0% in China in 2020. However, comparing the findings of this study with the number of health check‐ups reported in the local national health statistics yearbooks suggests that the number of CRC physical examinations may be underestimated in this study. The findings suggest that further efforts are needed to improve population access to CRC screening in China. Plant JASMONATE ZIM‐DOMAIN (JAZ) genes play crucial roles in regulating the biosynthesis of specialized metabolites and stressful responses. However, understanding of JAZs controlling these biological processes lags due to numerous JAZ copies. Here, we found that two leaf‐specific CwJAZ4/9 genes from Curcuma wenyujin are strongly induced by methyl‐jasmonate (MeJA) and negatively correlated with terpenoid biosynthesis. Yeast two‐hybrid, luciferase complementation imaging and in vitro pull‐down assays confirmed that CwJAZ4/9 proteins interact with CwMYC2 to form the CwJAZ4/9‐CwMYC2 regulatory cascade. Furthermore, transgenic hairy roots showed that CwJAZ4/9 acts as repressors of MeJA‐induced terpenoid biosynthesis by inhibiting the terpenoid pathway and jasmonate response, thus reducing terpenoid accumulation. In addition, we revealed that CwJAZ4/9 decreases salt sensitivity and sustains the growth of hairy roots under salt stress by suppressing the salt‐mediated jasmonate responses. Transcriptome analysis for MeJA‐mediated transgenic hairy root lines further confirmed that CwJAZ4/9 negatively regulates the terpenoid pathway genes and massively alters the expression of genes related to salt stress signaling and responses, and crosstalks of multiple phytohormones. Altogether, our results establish a genetic framework to understand how CwJAZ4/9 inhibits terpenoid biosynthesis and confers salt tolerance, which provides a potential strategy for producing high‐value pharmaceutical terpenoids and improving resistant C. wenyujin varieties by a genetic approach. Bacterial synthesis of vitamin B2 generates a by‐product, 5‐(2‐oxopropylideneamino)‐d‐ribityl‐aminouracil (5‐OP‐RU), with potent immunological properties in mammals, but it is rapidly degraded in water. This natural product covalently bonds to the key immunological protein MR1 in the endoplasmic reticulum of antigen presenting cells (APCs), enabling MR1 refolding and trafficking to the cell surface, where it interacts with T cell receptors (TCRs) on mucosal associated invariant T lymphocytes (MAIT cells), activating their immunological and antimicrobial properties. Here, we strategically modify this natural product to understand the molecular basis of its recognition by MR1. This culminated in the discovery of new water‐stable compounds with extremely powerful and distinctive immunological functions. We report their capacity to bind MR1 inside APCs, triggering its expression on the cell surface (EC50 17 nM), and their potent activation (EC50 56 pM) or inhibition (IC50 80 nM) of interacting MAIT cells. We further derivatize compounds with diazirine‐alkyne, biotin, or fluorophore (Cy5 or AF647) labels for detecting, monitoring, and studying cellular MR1. Computer modeling casts new light on the molecular mechanism of activation, revealing that potent activators are first captured in a tyrosine‐ and serine‐lined cleft in MR1 via specific pi‐interactions and H‐bonds, before more tightly attaching via a covalent bond to Lys43 in MR1. Summary: The impact of milk on bone health in rural preschoolers is under-researched. This study, through a clinical trial and a meta-analysis, finds that milk supplementation enhances forearm and calcaneus bone acquisition in children, supporting the benefits of daily milk consumption. Purpose: This study evaluated the impact of dairy supplementation on bone acquisition in children's limbs through a cluster-randomized controlled trial and a meta-analysis. Methods: The trial involved 315 children (4–6 year) from Northwest China, randomized to receive either 390 ml of milk daily (n = 215) or 20–30 g of bread (n = 100) over 12 months. We primarily assessed bone mineral density (BMD) and content (BMC) changes at the limbs, alongside bone-related biomarkers, measured at baseline, the 6th and 12th months. The meta-analysis aggregated BMD or BMC changes in the forearm/legs/calcaneus from published randomized trials involving children aged 3–18 years supplemented with dairy foods (vs. control group). Results: Of 278 completed the trial, intention-to-treat analysis revealed significant increases in BMD (4.05% and 7.31%) and BMC (4.69% and 7.34%) in the left forearm at the 6th and 12th months in the milk group compared to controls (P < 0.001). The calcaneus showed notable improvements in BMD (2.01%) and BMC (1.87%) at 6 months but not at 12 months. Additionally, milk supplementation was associated with beneficial changes in bone resorption markers, parathyroid hormone (− 12.70%), insulin-like growth factor 1 (6.69%), and the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio (2.22%) (all P < 0.05). The meta-analysis, encompassing 894 children, indicated that dairy supplementation significantly increased BMD (SMD, 0.629; 95%CI: 0.275, 0.983) and BMC (SMD, 0.616; 95%CI: 0.380, 0.851) (P < 0.05) in the arms, but not in the legs (P > 0.05). In the present era, the fixation of atmospheric CO2 is of significant importance and plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of carbon and energy flow within ecosystems. Generally, CO2 fixation is carried out by autotrophic organisms; however, the scientific community has paid substantial attention to execute this process in laboratory. In this report, we synthesized two carbonato-bridged trinuclear copper(II) complexes, [Cu3(L1)3(μ3-CO3)](ClO4)3 (1) and [Cu3(L2)3(μ3-CO3)](ClO4)3 (2) via atmospheric fixation of CO2 starting with Cu(ClO4)2·6H2O and easily accessible pyridine/pyrazine-based N4 donor Schiff base ligands L1 and L2, respectively. Under very similar reaction conditions, the ligand framework embedded with the phenolate moiety (HL3) fails to do so because of the reduction of the Lewis acidity of the metal center, inhibiting the formation of a reactive hydroxide bound copper(II) species, which is required for the fixation of atmospheric CO2. X-ray crystal structures display that carbonate-oxygen atoms bridge three copper(II) centers in μ3syn–anti disposition in 1 and 2, whereas [Cu(HL3)(ClO4)] (3) is a mononuclear complex. Interestingly, we also isolated an important intermediate of atmospheric CO2 fixation and structurally characterized it as an anti–anti μ2 carbonato-bridged dinuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu2(L2)2(μ2-CO3)](ClO4)2·MeOH (2-I), providing an in-depth understanding of CO2 fixation in these systems. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement suggests ferromagnetic interactions between the metal centers in both 1 and 2, and the results have been further supported by DFT calculations. The catalytic efficiency of our synthesized complexes 1–3 was checked by means of catechol oxidase and phenoxazinone synthase-like activities. While complexes 1 and 2 showed oxidase-like activity for aerobic oxidation of o-aminophenol and 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol, complex 3 was found to be feebly active. ESI mass spectrometry revealed that the oxidation reaction proceeds through the formation of complex–substrate intermediations and was further substantiated by DFT calculations. Moreover, active catalysts 1 and 2 were effectively utilized for the base-free oxidation of benzylic alcohols in the presence of air as a green and sustainable oxidant and catalytic amount of TEMPO in acetonitrile. Background: Soybean cyst nematodes (SCN) as animal parasites of plants are not usually interested in killing the host but are rather focused on completing their life cycle to increase population, resulting in substantial yield losses. Remarkably, some agricultural soils after long-term crop monoculture show a significant decline in SCN densities and suppress disease in a sustainable and viable manner. However, relatively little is known about the microbes and mechanisms operating against SCN in such disease-suppressive soils. Results: Greenhouse experiments showed that suppressive soils (S) collected from two provinces of China and transplantation soils (CS, created by mixing 10% S with 90% conducive soils) suppressed SCN. However, SCN suppressiveness was partially lost or completely abolished when S soils were treated with heat (80 °C) and formalin. Bacterial community analysis revealed that the specific suppression in S and CS was mainly associated with the bacterial phylum Bacteroidetes, specifically due to the enrichment of Chitinophaga spp. and Dyadobacter sp., in the cysts. SCN cysts colonized by Chitinophaga spp. showed dramatically reduced egg hatching, with unrecognizable internal body organization of juveniles inside the eggshell due to chitinase activity. Whereas, Dyadobacter sp. cells attached to the surface coat of J2s increased soybean resistance against SCN by triggering the expression of defence-associated genes. The disease-suppressive potential of these bacteria was validated by inoculating them into conducive soil. The Dyadobacter strain alone or in combination with Chitinophaga strains significantly decreased egg densities after one growing cycle of soybeans. In contrast, Chitinophaga strains alone required more than one growing cycle to significantly reduce SCN egg hatching and population density. Conclusion: This study revealed how soybean monoculture for decades induced microbiota homeostasis, leading to the formation of SCN-suppressive soil. The high relative abundance of antagonistic bacteria in the cyst suppressed the SCN population both directly and indirectly. Digital leadership as a new type of leadership plays an important role in the digital transformation of enterprises. Although studies show the positive impact of digital leadership on organizational innovation, there is little research on how it affects employees' innovation behavior. Drawing on social information processing theory, this paper develops a model of digital leadership acting on deviant innovation behavior through employee ambition. It also delves into the boundary role of employee innovation self-efficacy in the model based on job demands–resources theory. Through the analysis of 365 questionnaires, the results show that digital leadership significantly and positively affects employees' deviant innovation behavior, and employee ambition plays a mediating role in it. Additionally, results indicate that innovative self-efficacy modulates the impact of employee ambition on employees' deviant innovation behavior, also enhancing the mediation effect of ambition. Notably, the higher the employee's sense of self-efficacy in innovation, the stronger the influence of employee ambition on deviant innovation behavior, and the stronger the mediating role of employee ambition. Simple Summary: The non-phytate phosphorous (NPP) requirements of laying hens vary significantly at different stages of growth and development due to their differing physiological characteristics. Non-linear models and factorial methods are often used to estimate the nutritional requirements of animals at different stages of growth. In this study, the NPP requirement of Chinese Jing Tint 6 layer chicks from hatch to d 42 was evaluated using both a non-linear model and factorial method. The non-linear models were fitted based on the criterion of growth performance, serum biochemical parameters, bone characteristics, and phosphorus utilization. The factorial methods were used to classify the requirements of the layer chicks into growth requirements and maintenance requirements. Based on the current results, it was recommended that dietary 0.367% and 0.439% NPP benefit from the best P utilization of 1–14 and 15–42 d birds, respectively. By predicting the nutritional needs of poultry at different stages as accurately as possible, the model can help formulate more scientific and reasonable feed formulation. We aimed to estimate the non-phytate phosphorus (NPP) requirements of Chinese Jing Tint 6 layer chicks. We randomly allocated 720 birds to five treatments with six cages of 24 birds each, feeding them a corn–soybean diet containing 0.36%, 0.41%, 0.46%, 0.51%, and 0.56% NNP. The results showed that the body weight gain (BWG), tibial length, and apparent total tract digestibility coefficients (ATTDC) of P were affected (p < 0.05) by dietary NPP level. A quadratic broken-line analysis (p < 0.05) of BWG indicated that the optimal NPP for birds aged 1–14 d was 0.411%. Similarly, 0.409% of NPP met tibial growth needs. However, 0.394% of NPP was optimal for P utilization according to the ATTDC criterion. For 15–42 d birds, 0.466% NPP, as estimated by the BWG criterion, was sufficient for optimal growth without decreasing P utilization. Using the factorial method, NPP requirements were calculated as 0.367% and 0.439%, based on the maintenance factors and BWG for 1–14 and 15–42 d birds, respectively, to maintain normal growth. Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is a common pelvic pain syndrome in males, seriously affecting patients' quality of life. For a long time, CP/CPPS has been considered a complex and variable disease, and its pathogenesis remains incompletely understood. Currently, CP/CPPS is believed to be a group of diseases characterized by pelvic pain or discomfort, urinary abnormalities, and other symptoms, each with its unique etiology, clinical characteristics, and outcomes, likely resulting from the action of pathogens or (and) certain non-infectious factors. Traditionally, CP/CPPS was thought to be unrelated to bacterial infections. However, in recent years, with the development of microbiology and the advancement of high-throughput sequencing technology, an increasing number of studies have suggested that microorganisms in the reproductive system may play an important role in the pathogenesis of CP/CPPS. Purpose: The objective of this investigation is to examine the benefits and potential risks of these drugs in individuals by varying baseline low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) values, utilizing the concept of the number needed to treat (NNT). Methods: We extensively searched electronic databases, such as PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and Web of Science, up to 6 August 2023. Baseline LDL-C values were stratified into four categories: < 100, 100–129, 130–159, and ≥ 160 mg/dL. Risk ratios (RRs) and NNT values were computed. Results: This analysis incorporated data from 46 randomized controlled trials (RCTs), encompassing a total of 237,870 participants. The meta-regression analysis demonstrated an incremental diminishing risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) with increasing baseline LDL-C values. Statins exhibited a significant reduction in MACE [number needed to treat to benefit (NNTB) 31, 95% confidence interval (CI) 25–37], but this effect was observed only in individuals with baseline LDL-C values of 100 mg/dL or higher. Ezetimibe and PCSK9 inhibitors also were effective in reducing MACE (NNTB 18, 95% CI 11–41, and NNTB 18, 95% CI 16–24). Notably, the safety outcomes of statins and ezetimibe did not reach statistical significance, while the incidence of injection-site reactions with PCSK9 inhibitors was statistically significant [number needed to treat to harm (NNTH) 41, 95% CI 80–26]. Conclusion: Statins, ezetimibe, and PCSK9 inhibitors demonstrated a substantial capacity to reduce MACE, particularly among individuals whose baseline LDL-C values were relatively higher. The photometric and spectroscopic studies of three contact binaries, ASASSN-V J052036.28+144711.0, ASASSN-V J064846.22+241709.9, and ASASSN-V J073441.02+555833.0 were performed for the first time. The periods of all the three targets are longer than 0.5 d, and we discovered that their mass ratios are all smaller than 0.25. So, they are long-period low mass-ratio contact binaries. ASASSN-V J052036.28+144711.0 and ASASSN-V J064846.22+241709.9 are medium contact binaries. ASASSN-V J073441.02+555833.0 is a deep contact binary, which is also the only one existing O'Connell effect. We attached a dark spot on its secondary component for a better fit of light curves featuring asymmetry. From orbital period analysis, two of the three targets are believed to demonstrate a secular period increase, while one shows no long-term variation. We employed the spectral subtraction approach to investigate the LAMOST spectra, while all of the three binaries show no H α emission line, implying no chromospheric activity. Nowadays, people are interested in many nonlinear models in sciences and engineering, e.g., a (2+1)-dimensional generalized nonlinear evolution system in fluid dynamics, plasma physics, nonlinear optics and quantum mechanics. We purpose to study that system by means of constructing one set of the bilinear auto-Bäcklund transformations and one set of the similarity reductions. Our bilinear auto-Bäcklund transformations can link certain solutions for that system with other solutions for that system itself, while our similarity reductions go from that system to a known ordinary differential equation. Comprehensive Summary: To better understand the impact of different anions on the structures and SCO properties of the CoII SCO complexes, six new complexes [Co(terpy‐CH2OH)2]A2·sol (terpy‐CH2OH = 4′‐(hydroxymethyl)‐2,2′;6′,2″‐terpyridine, A = Br– (1, sol = 1.5H2O), I– (2), N3– (3, sol = 2H2O), H3BCN– (4), OTf– (5), and TsO– (6, sol = 4H2O·CH3CN), have been synthesized and characterized. All six compounds consist of mononuclear [Co(terpy‐CH2OH)2]2+ cations and charge‐balancing anions that differ in size, shape, and hydrogen bonding capacity. Complexes 1, 2, 3, and 6 displayed incomplete gradual SCO transitions, whereas 4 and 5 exhibited abrupt hysteretic spin transitions with loops of 12 and 16 K (250.0—262.0 K for 4, and 370.0—386.0 K for 5, respectively), closely resembling our previously reported complexes with SCN– and SeCN– anions. The occurrence of the order‐disorder transition of the CH2OH groups and their transition temperatures are determined by the size and hydrogen bonding capability of the anions. Remarkably, the transition temperatures of complexes with H3BCN–, SCN–, OTf–, and SeCN– anions exhibit an upward trend as the size and mass of the anions increase, as confirmed through detailed single crystal structure analyses conducted in both high‐spin and low‐spin states for all four complexes. Purpose: The relationship between delayed ambulation (DA) and postoperative adverse events (AEs) following transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) in elderly patients remains elusive. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effects of DA on the postoperative AEs including complications, readmission and prolonged length of hospital stay (LOS). Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of a prospectively established database of elderly patients (aged 65 years and older) who underwent TLIF surgery. The early ambulation (EA) group was defined as patients ambulated within 48 h after surgery, whereas the delayed ambulation (DA) group was patients ambulated at a minimum of 48 h postoperatively. The DA patients were 1:1 propensity-score matched to the EA patients based on age, gender and the number of fused segments. Univariate analysis was used to compare postoperative outcomes between the two groups, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors for adverse events and DA. Results: After excluding 125 patients for various reasons, 1025 patients (≤ 48 h: N = 659 and > 48 h: N = 366) were included in the final analysis. After propensity score matching, there were 326 matched patients in each group. There were no significant differences in the baseline data and the surgery-related variables between the two groups (p > 0.05). The patients in the DA group had a significant higher incidence of postoperative AEs (46.0% vs. 34.0%, p = 0.002) and longer LOS (p = 0.001). Multivariate logistic regression identified that age, operative time, diabetes, and DA were independently associated with postoperative AEs, whereas greater age, higher international normalized ratio, and intraoperative estimated blood loss were identified as independent risk factors for DA. Conclusions: Delayed ambulation was an independent risk factor for postoperative AEs after TLIF in elderly patients. Solid organ transplantation mobilizes myeloid cells, including monocytes and macrophages, which are central protagonists of allograft rejection. However, myeloid cells can also be functionally reprogrammed by perioperative costimulatory blockade to promote a state of transplantation tolerance. Transplantation tolerance holds promise to reduce complications from chronic immunosuppression and promote long-term survival in transplant recipients. We sought to identify different mediators of transplantation tolerance by performing single-cell RNA sequencing of acute rejecting or tolerized cardiac allografts. This led to the unbiased identification of the transcription factor, hypoxia inducible factor (HIF)-2α, in a subset of tolerogenic monocytes. Using flow cytometric analyses and mice with conditional loss or gain of function, we uncovered that myeloid cell expression of HIF-2α was required for costimulatory blockade-induced transplantation tolerance. While HIF-2α was dispensable for mobilization of tolerogenic monocytes, which were sourced in part from the spleen, it promoted the expression of colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R). CSF1R mediates monocyte differentiation into tolerogenic macrophages and was found to be a direct transcriptional target of HIF-2α in splenic monocytes. Administration of the HIF stabilizer, roxadustat, within micelles to target myeloid cells, increased HIF-2α in splenic monocytes, which was associated with increased CSF1R expression and enhanced cardiac allograft survival. Specific detection of glycoproteins such as transferrin (TRF) related to neurological diseases, hepatoma and other diseases always plays an important role in the field of disease diagnosis. We designed an antibody-free immunoassay sensing method based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) formed by the polymerization of multiple functional monomers for the sensitive and selective detection of TRF in human serum. In the sandwich surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) sensor, the TRF-oriented magnetic MIP nanoparticles (Fe3O4@SiO2–MIPs) served as capture units to specifically recognize TRF and 4-mercaptophenylboronic acid-functionalized gold nanorods (MPBA–Au NRs) served as SERS probes to label the targets. In order to achieve stronger interaction between the recognition cavities of the prepared MIPs and the different amino acid fragments that make up TRF, Fe3O4@SiO2–MIPs were obtained through polycondensation reactions between more silylating reagents, enhancing the specific recognition of the entire TRF protein and achieving high IF. This sensing method exhibited a good linear response to TRF within the TRF concentration range of 0.01 ng mL−1 to 1 mg mL−1 (R2 = 0.9974), and the LOD was 0.00407 ng mL−1 (S/N = 3). The good stability, reproducibility and specificity of the resulting MIP based SERS sensor were demonstrated. An efficient method for the continuous separation of Voriconazole enantiomers was developed using sulfobutyl ether‐β‐cyclodextrin (SBE‐β‐CD) as a chiral selector in high‐speed countercurrent chromatography (HSCCC) with different types. The separation was performed using a two‐phase solvent system consisting of n‐hexane/ethyl acetate/100 mmol/L phosphate buffer solution (pH = 3.0, containing 50 mmol/L SBE‐β‐CD) (1.5:0.5:2, v/v/v). A fast and predictable scale‐up process was achieved using an analytical DE HSCCC instrument. The optimized parameters were subsequently applied to a preparative Tauto HSCCC instrument, resulting in consistent separation time and enantiomeric purity, with throughput boosted by a remarkable 11‐fold. Preparative HSCCC successfully separated 506 mg of the racemate, delivering enantiomers exceeding 99% purity as confirmed by high‐performance liquid chromatography analysis. The CRISPR system is an adaptive immune system found in prokaryotes that defends host cells against the invasion of foreign DNA1. As part of the ongoing struggle between phages and the bacterial immune system, the CRISPR system has evolved into various types, each with distinct functionalities2. Type II Cas9 is the most extensively studied of these systems and has diverse subtypes. It remains uncertain whether members of this family can evolve additional mechanisms to counter viral invasions3,4. Here we identify 2,062 complete Cas9 loci, predict the structures of their associated proteins and reveal three structural growth trajectories for type II-C Cas9. We found that novel associated genes (NAGs) tended to be present within the loci of larger II-C Cas9s. Further investigation revealed that CbCas9 from Chryseobacterium species contains a novel β-REC2 domain, and forms a heterotetrameric complex with an NAG-encoded CRISPR–Cas-system-promoting (pro-CRISPR) protein of II-C Cas9 (PcrIIC1). The CbCas9–PcrIIC1 complex exhibits enhanced DNA binding and cleavage activity, broader compatibility for protospacer adjacent motif sequences, increased tolerance for mismatches and improved anti-phage immunity, compared with stand-alone CbCas9. Historically, the central nervous system (CNS) was regarded as 'immuneprivileged', possessing its own distinct immune cell population. This immune privilege was thought to be established by a tight blood-brain barrier (BBB) and blood-cerebrospinal-fluid barrier (BCSFB), which prevented the crossing of peripheral immune cells and their secreted factors into the CNS parenchyma. However, recent studies have revealed the presence of peripheral immune cells in proximity to various brain-border niches such as the choroid plexus, cranial bone marrow (CBM), meninges, and perivascular spaces. Furthermore, emerging evidence suggests that peripheral immune cells may be able to infiltrate the brain through these sites and play significant roles in driving neuronal cell death and pathology progression in neurodegenerative disease. Thus, in this review, we explore how the brain-border immune niches may contribute to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and multiple sclerosis (MS). Background: In the management of inflammatory bowel disease, the emergence of drug resistance to monoclonal antibodies has come out as a significant impediment to achieving desired therapeutic outcomes. However, extensive evidence has substantiated that the induction of autophagy holds promise in counteracting the development of drug resistance. In this regard, the utilization of traditional Chinese medicine presents a potential avenue for alleviate drug resistance, specifically through Peilan and Fuling. Additionally, treatment with p -Cymene and pachymic acid resulted in a decrease in the levels of proinflammatory cytokines, namely TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6, while concurrently increasing the level of IL-10. p -Cymene and pachymic acid demonstrated the capacity to suppress the expression of autophagy-related proteins and mRNA including PI3K, AKT, and mTOR. Conclusions: p -Cymene and pachymic acid exhibit the potential to alleviate adalimumab-resistance and ameliorate the inflammatory response, primarily through the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. These findings suggest that traditional Chinese medicine holds promise as a viable treatment option for mitigating monoclonal antibody resistance in inflammatory bowel disease. SUMMARY: Understanding the genetic basis of population divergence and adaptation is an important goal in population genetics and evolutionary biology. However, the relative roles of demographic history, gene flow, and/or selective regime in driving genomic divergence, climatic adaptation, and speciation in non‐model tree species are not yet fully understood. To address this issue, we generated whole‐genome resequencing data of Liquidambar formosana and L. acalycina, which are broadly sympatric but altitudinally segregated in the Tertiary relict forests of subtropical China. We integrated genomic and environmental data to investigate the demographic history, genomic divergence, and climatic adaptation of these two sister species. We inferred a scenario of allopatric species divergence during the late Miocene, followed by secondary contact during the Holocene. We identified multiple genomic islands of elevated divergence that mainly evolved through divergence hitchhiking and recombination rate variation, likely fostered by long‐term refugial isolation and recent differential introgression in low‐recombination genomic regions. We also found some candidate genes with divergent selection signatures potentially involved in climatic adaptation and reproductive isolation. Our results contribute to a better understanding of how late Tertiary/Quaternary climatic change influenced speciation, genomic divergence, climatic adaptation, and introgressive hybridization in East Asia's Tertiary relict flora. In addition, they should facilitate future evolutionary, conservation genomics, and molecular breeding studies in Liquidambar, a genus of important medicinal and ornamental values. Cosmic plasmas are considered as the most abundant form of ordinary matter in the Universe while observations of the cosmic dust in different regions provide an insight into the Universe's recycling processes. For different types of the cosmic dusty plasmas, we hereby, with the symbolic computation and observational/experimental supports, study a (3+1)-dimensional generalized variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-Burgers-type equation, which can describe the electron-acoustic, dust-acoustic, positron-acoustic, dust-magneto-acoustic, ion-acoustic, magneto-acoustic, ion, quantum-dust-ion-acoustic or dust-ion-acoustic waves in one of the cosmic/laboratory dusty plasmas. With respect to the fluctuation of the electron or ion density, or perturbation of the magnitude of the magnetic field, or electrostatic wave potential, or radial-direction component of the velocity of ions or dust particles, a set of the auto-Bäcklund transformations, several soliton families and a set of the similarity reductions are symbolically computed out, depending on the variable coefficients which represent the dispersion, nonlinearity, geometric effect, Burgers/dusty-fluid-viscosity dissipation and diffraction/transverse perturbation. Variable-coefficient constraints on the soliton solutions are presented. Our analytic results are in agreement with those dusty-plasma-experimentally reported.
