In this manuscript, carrier transport simulation methods are proposed for devices with the coexistence of quantum transport and diffusive transport by combining the nonequilibrium Green's function method with the drift-diffusion transport simulation method. Current continuity between quantum transport and drift-diffusion transport is ensured by setting quantum transport current as the connection boundary condition of drift-diffusion simulation or by introducing quantum transport-induced carrier generation rates to drift-diffusion simulation. A comprehensive study of our method and the method combining the Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin (WKB) method with the drift-diffusion transport simulation method is performed for n-type tunnel oxide passivating contact solar cell to investigate their applicable conditions and balance the accuracy and computational cost. As the oxide barrier width, barrier height, and electron effective mass increase, or the doping concentration in the electron transport layer decreases to the extent that the blocking effect of the oxide barrier on light-generated electrons becomes significant, method I is more accurate since the transmission coefficient near the conduction band edge calculated by WKB is overestimated; otherwise, method II is more suitable due to its low computational cost without the loss of accuracy. In addition, the differences between current densities, carrier densities, and Shockley–Read–Hall recombination rates simulated under the two current continuity conditions for the solar cell with different carrier mobilities are also further explored and analyzed. Described herein is a dirhodium(II)‐catalyzed silylation of propargyl esters with hydrosilanes, using tertiary amines as axial ligands. By adopting this strategy, a range of versatile and useful allenylsilanes can be achieved with good yields. This reaction not only represents a SN2′‐type silylation of the propargyl derivatives bearing a terminal alkyne moiety to synthesize allenylsilanes from simple hydrosilanes, but also represents a new application of dirhodium(II) complexes in catalytic transformation of carbon‐carbon triple bond. The highly functionalized allenylsilanes that are produced can be transformed into a series of synthetically useful organic molecules. In this reaction, an intriguing ON‐OFF effect of the amine ligand was observed. The reaction almost did not occur (OFF) without addition of Lewis base amine ligand. Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is the predominant secondary nephropathy resulting in global end‐stage renal disease. It is attracting significant attention in both domestic and international research due to its widespread occurrence, fast advancement, and limited choices for prevention and treatment. The pathophysiology of this condition is intricate and involves multiple molecular and cellular pathways at various levels. This article provides a concise overview of the molecular processes involved in the development of DN. We established an efficient analytical approach for simultaneous determination of benthiavalicarb-isopropyl and its four metabolites (KIF-230-M1, KIF-230-M3, KIF-230-M4, and KIF-230-M5) in fruits and vegetables. Samples were extracted with acidified acetonitrile, with octadecylsilane and graphitised carbon black as sorbent for clean-up, and UHPLC-MS/MS for determination. The approach was determined at spikes of 5, 50, and 500 μg kg−1. The recoveries of the six matrices analyzed ranged from 74.5% to 115.6% with 0.5–12.6% for intra-day RSDr (n = 5), and 0.4–13.8% for inter-day RSDR (n = 15). The five analytes in all matrices achieved high linearity (R2 > 0.9917). The limit of quantification (LOQ) of benthiavalicarb-isopropyl as well as its four metabolites in all matrices was 5 μg kg−1. Oligosaccharides have myriad functions throughout biological processes1,2. Chemical synthesis of these structurally complex molecules facilitates investigation of their functions. With a dense concentration of stereocentres and hydroxyl groups, oligosaccharide assembly through O-glycosylation requires simultaneous control of site, stereo- and chemoselectivities3,4. Chemists have traditionally relied on protecting group manipulations for this purpose5–8, adding considerable synthetic work. Here we report a glycosylation platform that enables selective coupling between unprotected or minimally protected donor and acceptor sugars, producing 1,2-cis-O-glycosides in a catalyst-controlled, site-selective manner. Radical-based activation9 of allyl glycosyl sulfones forms glycosyl bromides. A designed aminoboronic acid catalyst brings this reactive intermediate close to an acceptor through a network of non-covalent hydrogen bonding and reversible covalent B–O bonding interactions, allowing precise glycosyl transfer. The site of glycosylation can be switched with different aminoboronic acid catalysts by affecting their interaction modes with substrates. The method accommodates a wide range of sugar types, amenable to the preparation of naturally occurring sugar chains and pentasaccharides containing 11 free hydroxyls. Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology has garnered considerable attention as a pivotal component for the autonomous navigation of intelligent mobile vehicles. Integrating target detection and target tracking technology into SLAM enhances scene perception, resulting in a more resilient SLAM system. Consequently, this article presents a pose optimization algorithm based on image segmentation, coupled with object detection technology, to achieve superior multi-frame association feature matching. Subsequently, this paper proposes a method for selecting the most stable targets to better conduct pose optimization. Finally, experimental validation was conducted on five sequences from the TUM dataset. We conducted tracking performance experiments to demonstrate the necessity of selecting stable targets for pose optimization. Afterwards, we carried out a comprehensive comparison with the current state-of-the-art SLAM implementations in terms of accuracy and robustness. The average absolute trajectory error of our method in the dynamic benchmark datasets is ∼ 94.14% lower than that of ORB-SLAM2, ∼ 61.90% lower than that of RS-SLAM, and ∼ 80.89% lower than that of DS-SLAM. At the end of the experiment, the process performance of the proposed method is demonstrated. The experiments collectively showcase the system's capability to deliver outstanding results. Human fingers possess stable high sensitivity and a wide range of tactile perception, attributed to the gradient microstructure and the interlocking collagen fiber on the skin's surface. However, challenges persist in achieving simultaneous enhancement of multiple functionalities in artificial skin. Inspired by the unique structure of the skin, a two‐step process involving ion diffusion‐induced and strong‐weak topological crosslinking is synergistically employed to fabricate a bilayer gradient hydrogel. Zn2+ initially diffuses to induce the formation of weak bonds, imparting elasticity. Subsequently, Fe3+/Zn2+ diffusion constructs a strong‐weak topologically crosslinked network, enhancing the toughness of the gel while reducing the brittleness associated with robust bonds. Due to its distinctive design, the gel employs an adaptive energy dissipation strategy subjected to large and small stress, ensuring high sensitivity (3.31 kPa−1, 0–2 kPa), wide sensing range (0.4–40.6 kPa), and exceptional stability (500 cycles). This flexible approach enables programmable design in three dimensions, including ion diffusion type, direction, and shape. This gel can detect the gentle brushing of feathers and human body movements. It utilizes significant differences generated by magnitudes of stress to perform binary information encryption. Fluoroacetate dehalogenases (FAcD), a homodimeric enzyme, catalyzes the conversion of fluoroacetic acid to glycolic acid (GoA). It has been proved that the enzyme has a half-of-the-site reactivity. Namely, its catalytic (C) subunit converts the first substrate to a covalent intermediate; then, the non-catalytic (NC) subunit binds a second substrate and promotes the conversion of the intermediate in the C subunit into the final product. After the release of the product, the C subunit becomes the NC subunit, and the previous NC subunit becomes the C subunit. To elucidate the detailed mechanism behind this cooperative catalysis, we have conducted microsecond-scale MD simulations along the reaction pathway. The simulations indicate that the substrate in the NC subunit induces W185 and Y141 adopting an open conformation in the C subunit. The opening of W185 (C) facilitates the entry of catalytic water, enhancing the catalytic activity for product formation, while the opening of Y141 (C) creates an unfavorable environment for product binding, promoting its release. Lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) have played an essential role in the energy storage industry and dominated the power sources for consumer electronics and electric vehicles. Understanding the electrochemistry of LIBs at the molecular scale is significant for improving their performance, stability, lifetime, and safety. Classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations could directly capture the atomic and molecular motions and thus provide dynamic insights into the electrochemical processes and ion transport in LIBs during charging and discharging that are usually challenging to observe experimentally, which is momentous in developing LIBs with superb performance. This review discusses developments in MD approaches using non‐reactive force fields, reactive force fields, and machine learning potential for modeling chemical reactions and transport of reactants in the electrodes, electrolytes, and electrode‐electrolyte interfaces. It also comprehensively discusses how molecular interactions, structures, transport, and reaction processes affect electrode stability, energy capacity, and interfacial properties. Finally, the remaining challenges and envisioned future routes are commented on for high‐fidelity, effective simulation methods to decode the invisible interactions and chemical reactions in LIBs. ENN Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. (ENN) is committed to generating fusion energy in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner, which requires abundant aneutronic fuel. Proton-boron (p-11B or p-B) fusion is considered an ideal choice for this purpose. Recent studies have suggested that p-B fusion, although challenging, is feasible based on new cross section data, provided that a hot ion mode and high wall reflection can be achieved to reduce electron radiation loss. The high beta and good confinement of the spherical torus (ST) make it an ideal candidate for p-B fusion. By utilizing the new spherical torus energy confinement scaling law, a reactor with a major radius R 0 = 4 m, central magnetic field B 0 = 6 T, central temperature T i 0 = 150 keV, plasma current I p = 30 MA, and hot ion mode T i / T e = 4 can yield p-B fusion with Q > 10. A roadmap for p-B fusion has been developed, with the next-generation device named EHL-2. EHL stands for ENN He-Long, which literally means "peaceful Chinese Loong." The main target parameters include R 0 ≃ 1.05 m, A ≃ 1.85 , B 0 ≃ 3 T, T i 0 ≃ 30 keV, I p ≃ 3 MA, and T i / T e ≥ 2. The existing ST device EXL-50 was simultaneously upgraded to provide experimental support for the new roadmap, involving the installation and upgrading of the central solenoid, vacuum chamber, and magnetic systems. The construction of the upgraded ST fusion device, EXL-50U, was completed at the end of 2023, and it achieved its first plasma in January 2024. Ionic liquid salts (ILs) are generally recognized as additives in perovskite precursor solutions to enhance the efficiency and stability of solar cells. However, the success of ILs incorporation as additives is highly dependent on the precursor formulation and perovskite crystallization process, posing challenges for industrial‐scale implementation. In this study, a room‐temperature spin‐coated IL, n‐butylamine acetate (BAAc), is identified as an ideal passivation agent for formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3) films. Compared with other passivation methods, the room‐temperature BAAc capping layer (BAAc RT) demonstrates more uniform and thorough passivation of surface defects in the FAPbI3 perovskite. Additionally, it provides better energy level alignment for hole extraction. As a result, the champion n–i–p perovskite solar cell with a BAAc capping layer exhibits a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 24.76%, with an open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of 1.19 V, and a Voc loss of ≈330 mV. The PCE of the perovskite mini‐module with BAAc RT reaches 20.47%, showcasing the effectiveness and viability of this method for manufacturing large‐area perovskite solar cells. Moreover, the BAAc passivation layer also improves the long‐term stability of unencapsulated FAPbI3 perovskite solar cells, enabling a T80 lifetime of 3500 h when stored at 35% relative humidity at room temperature in an air atmosphere. With the increasing dissemination of the Internet of Things and 5G, mobile edge computing has become a novel scheme to assist terminal devices in executing computation tasks. To elevate the coverage and computation capability of edge computing, a collaborative computation offloading and resource management architecture was proposed in space–air–ground integrated networking (SAGIN). In this manuscript, we established a novel model considering the computation offloading cost constraints of the communication, computing and cache model in the SAGIN. To be specific, the joint optimization problem of collaborative computation offloading and resource management was modeled as a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem. To address this issue, this paper proposed a computation offloading and resource allocation strategy based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL). Differing from traditional methods, DRL does not need a well-established formulation or previous information, and it is capable of revising the strategy adaptively according to the environment. The simulation results demonstrate the proposed approach can achieve the optimal reward values in the case of different terminal device numbers. Due to boron's metalloid properties, aromatic boron reagents are prevalent synthetic intermediates. The direct borylation of aryl C-H bonds for producing aromatic boron compounds offers an appealing, one-step solution. Despite significant advances in this field, achieving regioselective aryl C-H bond borylation using simple and readily available starting materials still remains a challenge. In this work, we attempted to enhance the reactivity of the electron-donor-acceptor (EDA) complex by selecting different bases to replace the organic base (NEt3) used in our previous research. To our delight, when using NH4HCO3 as the base, we have achieved a mild visible-light-mediated aromatic C-H bond borylation reaction with exceptional regioselectivity (rr > 40:1 to single isomers). Compared with our previous borylation methodologies, this protocol provides a more efficient and broader scope for aryl C-H bond borylation through the use of N-Bromosuccinimide. The protocol's good functional-group tolerance and excellent regioselectivity enable the functionalization of a variety of biologically relevant compounds and novel cascade transformations. Mechanistic experiments and theoretical calculations conducted in this study have indicated that, for certain arenes, the aryl C-H bond borylation might proceed through a new reaction mechanism, which involves the formation of a novel transient EDA complex. Background: To demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of robotic portal resection (RPR) for mediastinal tumour using a prospectively collected database. Methods: Data from 73 consecutive patients with mediastinal tumours who underwent RPRs were prospectively collected from August 2018 to April 2023. All patients underwent chest and abdominal enhanced computed tomography (CT) and preoperative multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussion. The patients were stratified into two groups based on tumour size: Group A (tumour size < 4 cm) and Group B (tumour size ≥ 4 cm). General clinical characteristics, surgical procedures, and short outcomes were promptly recorded. Results: All of the cases were scheduled for RPRs. One patient (1/73, 1.4%) was switched to a small utility incision approach because of extensive pleural adhesion. Two patients (2.8%) converted to sternotomy, however, no perioperative deaths occurred. Most of the tumours were located in the anterior mediastinum (51/73, 69.9%). Thymoma (27/73, 37.0%) and thymic cyst (16/73, 21.9%) were the most common diagnoses. The median diameter of tumours was 3.2 cm (IQR, 2.4–4.5 cm). The median total operative time was 61.0 min (IQR, 50.0–90.0 min). The median intraoperative blood loss was 20 mL (IQR, 5.0–30.0 ml), and only one patient (1.4%) experienced an intraoperative complication. The median length of hospital stay was 3 days (IQR, 2–4 days). Compared with Group A, the median total operative time and console time of Group B were significantly longer (P = 0.006 and P = 0.003, respectively). The volume of drainage on the first postoperative day was greater in group B than in group A (P = 0.013). Conclusion: RPR is a safe and effective technique for mediastinal tumour treatment, which can expand the application of minimally invasive surgery for the removal of complicated mediastinal tumours. Traditional artificial skin gels often only focuses on a single perspective and overlooks the necessity of multidimensional synergistic design for sensitivity enhancement. To address these problems, the innovative introduction of dual solvents on the surface of polyacrylamide/sodium alginate gel induces to the transformation of supramolecular interactions including ion coordination, crystalline alcohol, and phase separation, synergistically achieving adjustable wrinkle wavelengths (304.2 ± 19.9 to 2393.5 ± 95.9 µm) and modulated chemical compositions with tunable moduli (87.5 ± 3.3 to 157.6 ± 3.7 kPa). This flexible strategy allows the construction of long‐range ordered wrinkled microstructures of three‐dimensional surfaces and complex morphologies. Meanwhile, the bridge effect induced by crystalline alcohols directs the insertion of ethanol molecules into the polymer chains, effectively reducing intramolecular friction. Benefiting from the small wavelength and low modulus dominated by crystalline alcohol, the wrinkled gel exhibits extremely high sensitivity of 164 kPa−1 (<0.5 kPa) and wide detection range (44.3 kPa). The wrinkled gel remains stable high sensitive to detect micro‐ and large stress, tactile perception, and human motion behaviors. This work proposes a new strategy for constructing highly sensitive bioinspired skin from multiple dimensions, showing broad application prospects in the fields of bioengineering and behavioral cognition. Kesuting Syrup, a Chinese herbal formula, has been registered in China since 2002 and has been used to treat upper respiratory symptoms such as sore throat and cough. A study conducted in China found that Kesuting Syrup may be effective in treating COVID-19, including the Omicron variant. The study used multidimensional computations and network pharmacology to explore the potential therapeutic mechanism of Kesuting Syrup. While Kesuting Syrup did not significantly impact viral replication, it improved recovery time and rate in patients with mild Omicron variant infection and reduced the expression of viral nucleic acid. Rutin, a compound in Kesuting Syrup, may be responsible for its anti-SARS-CoV-2 effect by targeting IFN-γ and enhancing the body's immune response. The study suggests that Kesuting Syrup could be used as an adjunct to standard care in managing COVID-19 symptoms and improving patient comfort. After the construction of reservoir, the uplift of the water level leads to changes in flow rate, water depth and sediment movement, which may also affect the habitat of fish and other organisms. In order to demonstrate the influences of reservoir construction on the siltation and hydrodynamic conditions of the spawning site area and by taking a power station in LC Basin as an example, this paper establishes 1D and planar 2D nested water and sand mathematical model to study the form and position of siltation in the spawning ground, the changes of the reservoir backwater, and the hydrodynamic conditions based on the recommended normal storage level and the operating water levels during the flood season. The results show that the distribution of sediment in the spawning area under the recommended scheme is basically the same as in nature, there is no mutation area in the sediment content, and the construction of reservoir has little effect on siltation in the area. After construction, the area of spawning ground with "flow rate meeting 1.0-2.0 m/s, water depth meeting 0.5-1.0 m" increases in each month from April to July, and the change rate ranges from 8.74% to 317.36%. Under the recommended scheme, the construction of the reservoir has little impact on the habitat and hydrodynamic conditions of the spawning site area at the end of the reservoir, and can still meet the demand of fish. We report on the spin and occupation noise of a single, positively charged (InGa)As quantum dot emitting photons in the telecommunication C-band. The spin noise spectroscopy measurements are carried out at a temperature of 4.2 K in dependence on intensity and detuning in the regime beyond thermal equilibrium. The spin noise spectra yield in combination with an elaborate theoretical model the hole-spin relaxation time of the positively charged quantum dot and the Auger recombination and the electron-spin relaxation time of the trion state. The extracted Auger recombination time of this quantum dot emitting at 1.55 μ m is comparable to the typical Auger recombination times on the order of a few μ s measured in traditionally grown InAs/GaAs quantum dots emitting at around 900 nm. Background: Dermatomyositis (DM) is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy that is clinically challenging to diagnose and has a poor prognosis. It is characterized by symmetric proximal muscle weakness, muscle tenderness, dysphagia, characteristic skin rash (heliotrope rash, Gottron's sign), elevated muscle enzyme levels, abnormal electromyography, and muscle biopsy findings. DM with positive anti-MDA5 antibodies is mainly characterized by Gottron's sign, skin ulcers, facial erythema, mechanic's hands, and V-sign. In this case, the patient presented with the rare manifestation of severe necrotic skin ulcers in association with Gottron's sign, prompting us to report this case.Case Presentation: A 45-year-old female was admitted to the hospital with systemic joint pain, fatigue, multiple ulcers, and purulent discharge on both hands. Her myositis-specific antibody profile revealed positive anti-MDA5 and anti-SSA/RO52 antibodies. Treatment included a combination of glucocorticoids, immunosuppressants, gastric and liver protection, infection control, and wound care. After two weeks of treatment, the patient showed improvement in symptoms. However, on the 24th day of hospitalization, the wound at the right elbow joint ruptured and became infected, requiring debridement and skin grafting in the appropriate department.Conclusion: There has been limited research and reported cases of dermatomyositis with coexistence of positive anti-MDA5 and anti-SSA/RO52 antibodies combined with severe skin ulcers. Therefore, we present this rare case and emphasize the need for close follow-up on pulmonary involvement and skin ulcer progression, as well as timely implementation of new treatment strategies to actively improve the prognosis. Objectives We explored the epidemiological and molecular characteristics of Candida parapsilosis sensu stricto isolates in China, and their mechanisms of azole resistance. Methods Azole susceptibilities of 2318 non-duplicate isolates were determined using CLSI broth microdilution. Isolates were genotyped by a microsatellite typing method. Molecular resistance mechanisms were also studied and functionally validated by CRISPR/Cas9-based genetic alterations. Results Fluconazole resistance occurred in 2.4% (n = 56) of isolates, and these isolates showed a higher frequency of distribution in ICU inpatients compared with susceptible isolates (48.2%, n = 27/56 versus 27.8%, 613/2208; P = 0.019). Microsatellite-genotyping analysis yielded 29 genotypes among 56 fluconazole-resistant isolates, of which 10 genotypes, including 37 isolates, belonged to clusters, persisting and transmitting in Chinese hospitals for 1–29 months. Clusters harbouring Erg11Y132F (5/10; 50%) were predominant in China. Among these, the second most dominant cluster MT07, including seven isolates, characteristically harbouring Erg11Y132F and Mrr1Q625K, lent its carriage to being one of the strongest associations with cross-resistance and high MICs of fluconazole (>256 mg/L) and voriconazole (2–8 mg/L), causing transmission across two hospitals. Among mutations tested, Mrr1Q625K led to the highest-level increase of fluconazole MIC (32-fold), while mutations located within or near the predicted transcription factor domain of Tac1 (D440Y, T492M and L518F) conferred cross-resistance to azoles. The development of machine vision demands accurate image capture under different lighting conditions, which is crucial for perceiving the environment correctly. In this paper, we present a human-eye-inspired sensor based on quasi-two-dimensional perovskite and indium gallium zinc oxide phototransistor array. The sensor exhibits a light detection limit as low as 6.1 nW/cm2 with a responsivity of 5 × 105 A/W, capable of perceiving light in visible spectrum range. Technical debt (TD) refers to the phenomenon that developers choose a compromise solution from a short-term benefit perspective during design or architecture selection. TD-related issues, such as code smells, may have a critical impact on important non-functional requirements. Different severity levels of TD issues require different measures to be taken by developers in the future. Existing studies mainly focus on detecting TD in software projects through source code or comments, but usually ignore the severity degree of TD issues. As a matter of fact, it is very important to identify the severity of TD issues and clarify which TD should be prioritized. In this paper, we propose an approach that combines the semantic and structural information of the code snippets to identify their severity at method level. In the approach, we first transform each method affected by TD issues into an abstract syntax tree (AST) and use the paths in the AST to represent its semantic information. Then, we extract different code metrics to measure the size, coupling, and complexity of methods affected by TD issues to represent their structural information. Finally, we build a stacking ensemble model to identify the severity of TD issues by using Random Forest (RF) and eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) for the base classifiers and Support Vector Machine (SVM) for the meta-classifier. The evaluation results on the real dataset show that our approach achieves 65.77% in terms of precision, 68.18% in terms of recall, and 65.84% in terms of F1-score on average. In addition, the experimental results also demonstrate that the strategy of combining the semantic and structural information of code snippets is effective in improving the effectiveness of our approach. Single‐crystalline metal halide perovskite, due to its large X‐ray attenuation coefficient, high carrier mobility, and facile fabrication properties, is considered as a promising candidate material for direct X‐ray detectors. Despite the rapid development of high‐sensitivity perovskite detectors, their practical application is still hindered by their high dark current levels and the lack of effective approach for assembling the perovskite photodetectors on thin‐film transistor (TFT) backplane. Herein, it is shown that, by using a supersaturated 2D perovskite precursor as a wet‐fusing intermedia, a high‐performance 2D/3D perovskite detector can be fabricated and simultaneously attached to the TFT backplane. The assembled 2D/3D heterostructure perovskite detector shows low dark current density, high sensitivity, and low dose detection limit. Purpose: Much attention has been paid to anthropogenic activities in the metropolitan zone and associated with their organic pollutants i.e. polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) discharge. This work aims to explore the impact factors, sources, and cancer risks of soil PAHs from the northern Taihu Basin, China, providing worthwhile information for soil remediation and health risk management. Materials and methods: In this study, soil samples were collected from 43 residential areas in the northern Taihu Basin of the Yangtze River Delta. Determination of 16 PAHs performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The primary sources of PAHs were discriminated by a positive matrix decomposition (PMF) model and the contributions were quantitatively evaluated. The health risk of PAHs was assessed by the increased lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) model. Results and discussion: Results showed that the PAH concentration ranged from 87.15 − 947.02 ng g−1, and the compounds were mainly composed of 4–6-ring monomers, accounting for 84.11%. The soil erosion-derived input of PAHs from land to water was determined to be 15.27 kg yr−1. Source identification of PAHs by the PMF model revealed a 50.96% contribution of vehicle emission, 34.07% of coke and coal combustion, and 14.97% of the petroleum-derived source. The correlation analysis indicated that the distance from the nearest trunk road was the key factor influencing PAHs value in soils, followed by coal/coke consumption and the age of the residential area. The changes in TOC and TN contents greatly affected the adsorption of PAHs. The ILCR value was in a range of (1.09–34.00) × 10−6. Conclusions: The highest concentrations of PAHs in soils were found in the oldest urban district. PAHs in sediments are caused by soil erosion attributing approximately 10% of the total sediments in the northern Taihu Basin. Vehicle emissions were the dominant sources. The total ILCR value ranged from 10–6 to 10–4, reflecting that potential risks would occur occasionally for residents exposed to soil PAHs, with higher cancer risk for adults, and food ingestion was the dominant exposure pathway. Biochar-derived dissolved organic matter (BDOM) plays key roles in soil ecosystem by affecting soil physicochemical and biological properties and supplying nutrients to soil microbes. It can either enhance or suppress the growth of certain soil microorganisms, depending on its composition and content of labile organic compounds. This review aims to discuss and summarize the role of BDOM in modifying soil microbial functioning, microbial community structure, and enzymatic activity. We mainly focus on the role of BDOM as a function of its concentration, type of feedstock biomass, and pyrolysis temperature (PT). Results show that saw dust- and manure-based biochars produce higher BDOM concentrations than straw-, bone-, and sludge-based biochars. The types of feedstock biomass and its PT determine BDOM characteristics and its interaction with soil microbial communities. Plant-derived biochar with pyrolysis temperature ≤300 °C often results in a more aliphatic BDOM than that with pyrolysis temperature ≥500 °C, which yields a more aromatic BDOM. BDOM of plant biochar contains higher specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA) and humification index (HIX) than that of manure biochar. The SUVA and HIX of BDOM positively correlate (R2=0.68–0.96) with the content of total fatty acid methyl esters, but negatively correlate with the abundances of actinomycetes, arbuscular mycorrhizae, and fungal communities. However, the environmental fate of BDOM in biochar amended soil requires long-term experiment, both in laboratory and field scales, to provide a full understating of BDOM interaction with soil organic matter and microorganisms and help to tailor a safe utilization of biochar in agroecosystems. Background: Both video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) thymectomy and robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) thymectomy have been suggested as technically sound approaches for early-stage thymic epithelial tumors. However, the choice of VATS or RATS thymectomy for large and advanced thymic epithelial tumors remains controversial. In this study, the perioperative outcomes of VATS and RATS thymectomy were compared in patients with large thymic epithelial tumors (size ≥5.0 cm). Methods: A total of 113 patients with large thymic epithelial tumors who underwent minimally invasive surgery were included. Sixty-three patients underwent RATS, and 50 patients underwent VATS. Patient characteristics and perioperative variables were compared. Results: Compared with the VATS group, the RATS group experienced a shorter operation time (median: 110 min vs.130 min; P < 0.001) and less blood loss (30.00 ml vs. 100.00 ml, P < 0.001). No patients in the RATS group needed conversion to open surgery, but in the VATS series, five patients required conversion to open procedures (0% vs. 14.29%, P = 0.054). The rate of concomitant resection in the RATS group was similar to that in the VATS group (11.43% vs. 5.71%; P = 0.673). There was no significant difference between the two groups in the duration of chest tube (P = 0.587), postoperative complications (P = 1.000), and the duration of postoperative hospital stay (P = 0.141). Conclusion: For large thymic epithelial tumors, RATS thymectomy can be performed safely and effectively in a radical fashion. Birefringence is at the heart of photonic applications. Layered van der Waals materials inherently support considerable out-of-plane birefringence. However, funnelling light into their small nanoscale area parallel to its out-of-plane optical axis remains challenging. Thus far, the lack of large in-plane birefringence has been a major roadblock hindering their applications. Here, we introduce the presence of broadband, low-loss, giant birefringence in a biaxial van der Waals materials Ta2NiS5, spanning an ultrawide-band from visible to mid-infrared wavelengths of 0.3–16 μm. The in-plane birefringence Δn ≈ 2 and 0.5 in the visible and mid-infrared ranges is one of the highest among van der Waals materials known to date. Meanwhile, the real-space propagating waveguide modes in Ta2NiS5 show strong in-plane anisotropy with a long propagation length (>20 μm) in the mid-infrared range. Our work may promote next-generation broadband and ultracompact integrated photonics based on van der Waals materials. van der Waals materials are usually characterized by a significant out-of-plane optical anisotropy, but in-plane birefringence is also necessary for photonics applications. Objective: Explore the diagnostic value of total bile acids/platelets in HBV related liver fibrosis. Methods: 160 patients with chronic HBV infection admitted to the Infection Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College from February 2021 to December 2022 were selected. They were divided into two groups based on the degree of liver fibrosis detected by liver biopsy: significant liver fibrosis group and non-significant liver fibrosis group. The total bile acid/blood platelet levels and their correlation with liver fibrosis in the two groups were compared and observed, and the efficacy of other non-invasive liver fibrosis diagnostic models was evaluated. Results: (1) Compared with the non-significant liver fibrosis group, the significant liver fibrosis group showed an increase in total bile acid levels, a decrease in platelet levels, and a significant increase in total bile acid/platelet levels (P<0.05). (2) Platelets decrease with the increase of liver fibrosis degree, total bile acids increase with the increase of liver fibrosis degree, and total bile acids/platelets increase with the increase of liver fibrosis degree. (3) The area under the curve (AUC) of total bile acid/platelet, APRI, FIB-4, and elastography in diagnosing the degree of liver fibrosis were 0.69, 0.57, 0.56, and 0.68, respectively. Conclusions: The diagnostic efficacy of total bile acids/platelets in diagnosing HBV related liver fibrosis is no less than that of other liver fibrosis diagnostic methods, and it is non-invasive, simple, and convenient, which is worthy of further clinical promotion and validation. Recently, a three-component coupling reaction for efficient construction of gem-diarylmethine silanes was developed, utilizing a Pd-Ming-Phos catalyst. To explore the underlying mechanism governing this intriguing reaction, we have conducted comprehensive density functional theory (DFT) computations (M06-L/SDD/6-311++G(d,p)/SMD//B3LYP-D3/lanl2dz/6-31G(d,p)). DFT calculations reveal that the oxidative addition of ArBr to Pd(0) is the rate-determining step, and the carbenation process of PhCHN2 to Pd(II) is the enantioselectivity-determining step. Moreover, the Ming-Phos ligand exhibits a self-adaptive nature, allowing it to dynamically adapt its coordination patterns with the metal center in different elementary steps, thereby enhancing the overall reactivity. The enantioselectivity is determined by both the trans effect and the side-arm effect of the ligand. This mechanism nicely explains why TY-Phos with P-tBu2 instead of the Ming-Phos with P-Ph2 results in poor reactivity and much reduced enantioselectivity. This study not only provides deeper insights into the functioning principles of SadPhos ligands but also offers valuable guidance for future ligand modifications and optimizations. Investigation into the role of cells with respect to extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling is still in its infancy. Particularly, ECM degradation is an indispensable process during the recovery from fibrosis. Cells with ECM degradation ability due to the secretion of various matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) have emerged as novel contributors to the treatment of fibrotic diseases. In this review, we focus on the ECM degradation ability of cells associated with the repertoire of MMPs that facilitate the attenuation of fibrosis through the inhibition of ECM deposition. Besides, innovative approaches to engineering and characterizing cells with degradation ability, as well as elucidating the mechanism of the ECM degradation, are also illustrated. Studies conducted to date on the use of cell-based degradation for therapeutic purposes to combat fibrosis are summarized. Finally, we discuss the therapeutic potential of cells with high degradation ability, hoping to bridge the gap between benchside research and bedside applications in treating fibrotic diseases. There are many kinds of agricultural pathogenic fungi, which may belong to pathogenic fungi in different species, such as Fusarium, Alternaria, Colletotrichum, Phytophthora, and other agricultural pathogens. Pathogenic fungi from different sources are widely distributed in agriculture, which threaten the lives of crops around the world and caused great damage to agricultural production and economic benefits. Due to the particularity of the marine environment, marine-derived fungi could produce natural compounds with unique structures, rich diversities, and significant bioactivities. Since marine natural products with different structural characteristics could inhibit different kinds of agricultural pathogenic fungi, secondary metabolites with antifungal activity could be used as lead compounds against agricultural pathogenic fungi. In order to summarize the structural characteristics of marine natural products against agricultural pathogenic fungi, this review systematically overview the activities against agricultural pathogenic fungi of 198 secondary metabolites from different marine fungal sources. Herein, we demonstrate a convenient noncovalent functionalization strategy for producing highly uniform, aqueous processable and semiconducting 2D triazine polymers. Experimental and theoretical analysis reveal that the aromatic amphiphilic 1‐pyrenebutyrate can adsorb and intercalate into the interlayer of bulk crystalline covalent triazine framework (CTF) through noncovalent π‐π stacking interaction between the pyrene moiety and the porous basal plane of 2D triazine polymer layer, which greatly facilitate the exfoliation of CTF in water in large scale. The as‐prepared highly water‐dispersible single‐layer/few‐layer 2D triazine polymer nanosheets can be easily processed into ultralight aerogels with a density of 5–15 mg cm−3, which can be further shaped into mechanically strong films upon simple compression. Millions of adenosine (A) to inosine (I) RNA editing events are reported and well‐studied in eukaryotes; however, many features and functions remain unclear in prokaryotes. By combining PacBio Sequel, Illumina whole‐genome sequencing, and RNA Sequencing data of two Klebsiella pneumoniae strains with different virulence, a total of 13 RNA editing events are identified. The RNA editing event of badR is focused, which shows a significant difference in editing levels in the two K. pneumoniae strains and is predicted to be a transcription factor. A hard‐coded Cys is mutated on DNA to simulate the effect of complete editing of badR. Transcriptome analysis identifies the cellular quorum sensing (QS) pathway as the most dramatic change, demonstrating the dynamic regulation of RNA editing on badR related to coordinated collective behavior. Indeed, a significant difference in autoinducer 2 activity and cell growth is detected when the cells reach the stationary phase. Additionally, the mutant strain shows significantly lower virulence than the WT strain in the Galleria mellonella infection model. Furthermore, RNA editing regulation of badR is highly conserved across K. pneumoniae strains. Overall, this work provides new insights into posttranscriptional regulation in bacteria. In the present study, carrot juice prepared was added into skimmed milk before fermentation to produce 10% and 20% (w/w) carrot-fortified skim milk. The influence of carrot juice on the lactic acid content, chemical composition, syneresis, texture, rheology property, and microstructure was evaluated along with a potential of carrot juice as an ingredient with rich dietary fiber and a firm structure with interaction of milk protein and a complex matrix under acidification. The results showed that the pH of yoghurt significantly (P < 0.01) reduced with carrot juice addition, minimizing fermentation time by nearly 1 h and brought about an enhanced postacidification during the storage period while titratable acidity increased. Moreover, carrot juice addition had no significant effect on ferric reducing power and phenolic content (P > 0.05). With 10% and 20% level carrot juice added, the total phenolic content (mg GAEkg−1) increased (37.86 and 38.92, respectively) compared with control (36.91) (P < 0.05). Besides, the addition of carrot juice also showed reduced syneresis, increased apparent viscosity and viscoelastic modulus, stable texture, and a refined microstructure. Overall, this study confirmed that carrot juice has a potential as natural and nutrient composition to obtain firm and compact texture and enhance the beneficial quality of yoghurt. Purpose: Sediments are an important archive of rich information about the natural environmental changes and human activities in the basin. Exploring the historical trends and environmental significance of nutrients in the sediments will provide a reference for the restoration of the water environment. Materials and methods: In this study, two sediment cores were collected in the northern Taihu Basin, China. Total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) values in the sediments were measured by the potassium persulfate digestion method and molybdenum-antimony spectrometry, respectively. Total organic carbon (TOC) level was analyzed by a TOC-L analyzer. The historical source of organic matter (OM) was identified by combining the C/N ratio and nitrogen isotope (δ15N). Comprehensive pollution index and organic pollution index (OI) were performed to evaluate the TN/TP pollution levels and organic pollution status of sediments, respectively. Results and discussion: The results showed that TN, TP, and TOC concentrations were 0.16–3.19 mg g−1, 0.03–0.15 mg g−1, and 1.08–37.44 mg g−1, respectively. A rising trend of TN, TP, and TOC levels was observed after the 1960s. The correlation results revealed that nutrient concentrations (TN and TP) were positively correlated with the concentration of TOC and silty sand (p ≤ 0.01), respectively. The combined C/N ratio (1.55–25.39) and δ15N value (2.96–9.96‰) reflected the increasing input of exogenous OM. The result of the pollution risk assessment showed that the standard index of TN (STN) and TP (STP) ranged from 0.30–5.79 and 0.05–0.25, respectively, and the OI fluctuated widely from 0.22 × 10–2 to 1.13, indicating that TN and TOC were the dominant control factor of sedimentary environmental quality in the study area, and N and organic pollution of sediments cannot be ignored. Conclusions: TOC and silty sand showed a great positive effect on the distribution of TN and TP. The primary source of sediment OM turned from algae and plankton to terrestrial plants since the 1940s, and soil N loss and agricultural effluent were the dominant reasons for N accumulation in the sediments. Background: To explore whether robotic lobectomy (RL) is superior to video‐assisted lobectomy (VAL) in terms of short‐term outcomes in patients with pulmonary neoplasms. Methods: From January 30, 2019 to February 28, 2022, a series of consecutive minimally invasive lobectomies were performed for patients with pulmonary neoplasms. Perioperative outcomes such as operation time, blood loss, dissected lymph nodes (LNs), surgical complications, postoperative pain control, length of postoperative stay in hospital, and total cost of hospitalization were compared. Results: A total of 336 cases including 173 RLs and 163 VALs were enrolled. Baseline characteristics were comparable between groups. RLs were associated with shorter operation time (median [interquadrant range, IQR], 107 min [90–130] vs. 120 min [100–149], p < 0.001), less blood loss (median [IQR], 50 mL [30–60] vs. 50 mL [50–80], p = 0.02), and lower blood transfusion rate (3.5% vs. 9.8%, p = 0.02) compared with VALs. More LNs were harvested by the robotic approach (median [IQR], 29 [20–41] vs. 22 [15–45], p = 0.04). The incidences of conversion, major postoperative complications, extra analgesic usage, and postoperative length of stay were all comparable between the RL and VAL groups. As predicted, the total cost of hospitalization was greater in the RL group (median [IQR], $16728.35 [15682.16–17872.15] vs. $10713.47 [9662.13–11742.15], p < 0.001). Background: Our study aimed to compare the short-term outcomes between robot-assisted segmentectomy (RAS) and video-assisted segmentectomy (VAS) for small pulmonary nodules. Methods: The study included of 299 segmentectomies (132 RAS and 167 VAS procedures) for small pulmonary nodules between June 2018 and November 2021. The patients were divided into two groups: the RAS group and the VAS group. Propensity score-matching (PSM) analysis was performed to minimize bias. A logistic regression model was performed to identify the independent risk factors associated with complications. Results: Before PSM, the following clinical variables were not balanced: age (P = 0.004), tumor size (P < 0.001), forced expiratory volume for 1 s (FEV1), and FEV1 percentage (P < 0.001). The patients with RAS had a shorter operative time (P = 0.014), less blood loss, a shorter postoperative hospital stay, less use of strong opioids, less drainage on postoperative day 1, and less postoperative total drainage, but more cost (all P < 0.001). Conversion to open surgery was performed for two patients in the VAS group but none in the RAS group. After PSM, 53 pairs were successfully matched. The data again suggested that the patients with RAS had less blood loss, a shorter postoperative hospital stay, and less use of strong opioids, but more cost (all P < 0.001). The operation time also was shorter in the RAS group, with a borderline statistically significant P value (0.053). The risks posed by chemicals in the environment are typically assessed on a substance-by-substance basis, often neglecting the effects of mixtures. This may lead to an underestimation of the actual risk. In our study, we investigated the effects of three commonly used pesticides—imidacloprid (IMI), cycloxaprid (CYC), and tebuconazole (TBZ)—both individually and in combination, using various biomarkers to assess their impact on daphnia. Our findings indicated that the order of toxicity, from highest to lowest, was TBZ, IMI, and CYC, as determined by acute toxicity as well as reproduction. The effects of the ITmix (IMI and TBZ) and CTmix (CYC and TBZ) combinations on immobilization and reproduction were evaluated by MIXTOX, revealing a higher risk of immobilization at low concentrations for ITmix. The effect on reproduction differed depending on the ration of pesticides in the mixture, with synergism observed, which may be caused mainly by IMI. However, CTmix showed antagonism for acute toxicity, with the effect on reproduction depending upon the composition of the mixture. The response surface also exhibited a switch between antagonism and synergism. Additionally, the pesticides extended the body length and inhibited the development period. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) content was also significantly induced at different dosage points in both the single and combination groups, indicating changes in the metabolic capabilities of detoxifying enzymes and target site sensitivity. Forkhead box (FOX) proteins are a wing-like helix family of transcription factors in the DNA-binding region. By mediating the activation and inhibition of transcription and interactions with all kinds of transcriptional co-regulators (MuvB complexes, STAT3, β-catenin, etc.), they play significant roles in carbohydrate and fat metabolism, biological aging and immune regulation, development, and diseases in mammals. Recent studies have focused on translating these essential findings into clinical applications in order to improve quality of life, investigating areas such as diabetes, inflammation, and pulmonary fibrosis, and increase human lifespan. Early studies have shown that forkhead box M1 (FOXM1) functions as a key gene in pathological processes in multiple diseases by regulating genes related to proliferation, the cell cycle, migration, and apoptosis and genes related to diagnosis, therapy, and injury repair. Although FOXM1 has long been studied in relation to human diseases, its role needs to be elaborated on. FOXM1 expression is involved in the development or repair of multiple diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, diabetes, liver injury repair, adrenal lesions, vascular diseases, brain diseases, arthritis, myasthenia gravis, and psoriasis. The complex mechanisms involve multiple signaling pathways, such as WNT/β-catenin, STAT3/FOXM1/GLUT1, c-Myc/FOXM1, FOXM1/SIRT4/NF-κB, and FOXM1/SEMA3C/NRP2/Hedgehog. This paper reviews the key roles and functions of FOXM1 in kidney, vascular, lung, brain, bone, heart, skin, and blood vessel diseases to elucidate the role of FOXM1 in the development and progression of human non-malignant diseases and makes suggestions for further research. Background: Stage II colorectal cancer(CRC) patients after surgery alone have a five-year survival rate of ~60-80%; the incremental benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy is <5%. Predicting risk of recurrence and selecting effective personalized adjuvant drugs for stage II CRC using formalin-fixed, paraffinembedded(FFPE) samples is a major challenge. Methods: 1319 stage II CRC patients who enrolled in 2011-2019 at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center were screened. RNAseq data of FFPE tumor samples of 222 stage II microsatellite stable(MSS) CRC patients(recurrence (n=47), norecurrence (n=175), median follow-up=41 months) were used to develop a method TFunctionalProg for dissecting heterogeneous subgroups of recurrence and predicting risk of recurrence. Results: TFunctionalProg showed significant predictive values in 222 stage II MSS CRCs. The TFunctionalProg low-risk group had significantly better recurrence free survival (validation set: HR=4.78, p-value=1e-4, low-risk group three-year recurrence free survival=92.6%, high-risk group three-year recurrence free survival=59.7%). TFunctionalProg dissected two subgroups of transition states of stage II MSS CRCs at a high risk of recurrence; each state displays distinct levels of hybrid epithelial-mesenchymal traits, CD8+ T cell suppression mechanisms and FOLFOX resistance. Based on mechanisms in two subgroups, TFunctionalProg proposed personalized rational adjuvant drug combinations of immunotherapy, chemotherapy and repurposed CNS drugs. TFunctionalProg provides different utilities from ctDNA-based prognostic biomarkers. Conclusion: TFunctionalProg was validated using FFPE samples to predict the risk of recurrence and propose rational adjuvant drug combinations for stage II CRC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
