Background and Aim: Tissue repair surrounding implants is essential for the cosmetic maxillary anterior zone to respond favorably to implant therapy. Grafting platelets from an individual’s blood was developed to overcome the esthetic requirements and speed up healing. Advanced platelet‑rich fibrin (APRF) and concentrated growth factor (CGF) are used for good healing. Our aim was to evaluate the impact of APRF and CGF on healing of tissues around dental implants in the anterior region of the maxilla. Materials and Methods: A total of 60 patients who underwent dental implant placement procedures were included in this study. They were divided into two categories: category 1 consisted of patients who underwent dental implant placement procedures without APRF and CGF (n = 30) and category 2 consisted of patients who underwent dental implant placement procedures with APRF and CGF (n = 30). Assessment of alveolar bone height and bone density was conducted using CBCT at baseline and second, fourth, and sixth month postoperatively. Results: The alveolar height and alveolar bone density in APRF group and CGF group patients was greater compared to control group patients at all follow‑ups. Conclusion: APRF and CGF have a positive effect on the tissues around dental implants, promoting faster and better tissue healing around dental implants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anaerobic digestion produces biogas, which is a proven bioprocess for generating energy, recovering nutrients, and reusing waste materials. Generally, the biogas generated contains methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) in a 3:2 ratio, which limits the usage of the biogas to only cooking gas. To further enhance the application of biogas to vehicular fuel and natural gas grids, CO2 must be removed for an enhanced calorific value. This study seeks to lower greenhouse gas emissions by sequestering carbon dioxide from biogas. CO2 sequestration by microorganisms to upgrade the biogas and simultaneously convert the CO2 into acetic acid is a less explored area of research. Therefore, this research focuses mainly on the analysis of CO2 consumption % and acetic acid yield by novel isolated bacteria from fruit waste and mixed consortia obtained from cow dung and digested samples. The research finding states that there was a 32% increase in methane yield shown by isolated strain A1, i.e., CH4% was increased from 60% to 90%, whereas only an 11% increase was shown by consortia, which was an increase from 60% to 80%. The highest biogas upgradation was shown by the A1 strain at 30 °C incubation temperature and pH 8. The A1 strain demonstrated the highest recorded yield of acetic acid, reaching a concentration of 2215 mg/L at pH 8. A pH range of 7–8 was found to be the best-suited pH, and a mesophilic temperature was optimum for CO2 consumption and acetic acid production. The major objective is to create an effective method for improving biogas so that it is acceptable for different energy applications by lowering the carbon dioxide content and raising the methane content. This development signifies a significant advancement in the enhancement of biogas upgradation, as well as the concurrent generation of value-added goods, thereby establishing a sustainable platform technology. In this work, Dy3+ and Cu doped cobalt ferrites with general chemical formula Co0.8−xDyxCu0.2Fe2O4 (where x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5) have been synthesized via sol–gel route. The cubic phase confirmation and chemical bonding were revealed using X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy respectively. Thermal stability of as-prepared samples was checked by thermo-gravimetric and differential thermal analysis. The surface morphology was studied by scanning electron microscopy. Raman spectroscopy was used for further confirmation of the single-phase cubic spinel structure of the samples. The average crystallite size was found to decrease from 17.5 to 12.4 nm and the lattice constant was increased from 8.3564 to 8.3811 Å on incorporation of Dy3+ ions. The dc electrical resistivity in the temperature range of 303–393 K shows the semiconducting nature of the as-prepared samples. The activation energies for different samples were estimated from the Arrhenius plot and found to be in range of 0.25–0.30 eV. The dielectric constant (ε′), ac conductivity (σac) and dielectric loss (tanδ) have been analyzed in the frequency range of 42 Hz - 5 MHz at room temperature. All the dielectric parameters were found to decrease on adding Dy3+ ions. The variation of dielectric properties ε′, tanδ, and σac with frequency indicates the typical Maxwell–Wagner type dielectric behavior due to interfacial (space charge) polarization and the exchange of electrons among Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions. Electron paramagnetic resonance measurements of as-prepared ferrite nanoparticles show the weak super-exchange interactions which cause the large g-value and broadening of the resonance line as compared to the free electron g-value. The prepared ferrites have high dielectric permittivity and low loss making them promising materials for the applications in high frequency memory storage devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Gynecomastia during adolescence is common though etiology is not clear. We studied the clinical and hormonal profile of adolescent patients with gynecomastia. Methodology: Patients who had onset of breast development between age 10 and 20 years were included in this study. Their clinical profile, biochemical, and hormonal parameters were studied. Results: Of 94 patients with gynecomastia, 4 had hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, 4 had hypergonadotropic hypogonadism, and 1 had fibroadenosis, but in majority (90.4%), no apparent cause for breast enlargement was evident. In the idiopathic group, majority were obese (63%). Fourteen (16%) patients had impaired fasting glucose or impaired glucose tolerance. Another twenty patients had subtle abnormalities (high 1 h glucose or glucose peak at 2 h). Twenty-nine percent of lean and 38% of obese patients had mild abnormalities in glucose profile. Sixty percent of patients had family background of diabetes. Obese patients had lower testosterone as compared to lean patients; however, estradiol, luteinizing hormone, and follicle-stimulating hormone levels were similar in the two groups. Conclusion: Gynecomastia during adolescence is associated with obesity, dysglycemia, and family background of diabetes mellitus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: Although the intellectual capital (IC) has already received much attention from the researchers in the field of innovation performance, there is still a paucity in measuring the role of IC in venture creation. The present study is an attempt to examine the influence of IC on start-ups. Methodology: In this study, a large data set of 3413 respondents from India has been used. The data has been provided by the largest entrepreneurship research project GEM. A logistic regression technique has been applied to measure the influence of IC on entrepreneurial intentions. Findings: It has been found that the components of intellectual capital, i.e., knowledge and skills, entrepreneurial opportunities, knowing other entrepreneurs, business angel, and educational level have a positive and significant impact on the entrepreneurial intentions. Contribution: To the best of our knowledge, it is among the initial studies, which have examined the relationship between intellectual capital and entrepreneurial intentions.
